I have Galaxy Note 2 N7100
My home button doesn't work, so I am using a application called ' Back Button' to get onscreen buttons.
I installed CM 12.1 unofficial Android 5.1 ROM
After I installed this rom my root access is not working. I tried to check my root access with Root Checker and it says Root access is not properly installed.
I tried to update the SuperSU binary from the Supersu app and it didn't fix it.
I tried ROM manager to boot into recovery mode but it didn't work because my root access is not working.
I tried Quickroot app and it didn't work.
Basically I am not able to reboot into recovery mode because my home button is not working.
And I am not able to provide root access to apps which can help me reboot into recovery mode because my root access is not working.
So I am stuck here in a deadlock situation..
Please help me.

I have already rooted my S3 and installed AOKP, but I forgot to sync my contacts with Google, so I had to install the stock ROM and then get all my contacts back using Kies.
So, I want to Root my phone again and get AOKP back as I have now syncd my Contacts with Google.
I booted up Odin and put on the file CWM Recovery.tar
I try to go into Clockwork Mod Recovery mode (volume up, home, Pwr buttons), but I get into just the regular Android system recovery (3e) mode and not Clockwork Mod Recovery.
Any suggestions?!?!
Also, in download mode, it states that I have:
Binary: 4 counts
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
How can I get into Clock work mode recovery???
All I want to do is install a custom ROM...!
After using Odin to install the .tar file and having it downloaded successfully with Odin, I still cant get into CMR mode. I am definitely holding down the Vol Up, Pwr & Home buttons at the same time.
Maybe I should clear a cache or reset something?!

So in ROM Manager, I select "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" or "Flash ClockworkMod Touch"
sorry for the nOOb questions...
I have tried to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" using ROM Manager and get an error: An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!
I have also installed Triangle Away to reset my binary counter, but that doesnt work since my phone needs to be rooted.
Use this toolkit. It worked perfectly fir me. Just make sure you follow the directions.

And make sure you read everything carefully before you start flashing. Also make a backup of your IMEI. This will save you a headache later.

I have a rooted bone stock UCALG1 ROM that you can flash in ODIN. Then download ROM manager like the other member said to flash CWR. If you want touch without paying for it through Play you have to use Terminal Emulator to push it. I can give instructions for that also if you need them. If you want the rooted UCALG1 zip let me know.
If ROM manager is giving that message either it asked for root and you accidentally clicked deny or it isn't rooted properly. That's the only time i've encountered that message myself.
And Triangle Away will reset that flash counter for you
after i root my N7100 with clockwork recovery my phone works fine with root access but if i try to access to recovery this happens;
Please flash stock rom and reflash CWM again....
Please do not keep pressing the buttons. Leave all the buttons once first screen appears, then it will enter into recovery.
Instead of cwm I'd recommend twrp. You can use drketan, mskips toolkit or goomanager from the play store to easily install it

Now whenever I try to go into recovery mode, I have the samsung logo which breaks down. After a while it will boot and I can use it. It's not bricked. It just won't go into recovery. I have installed Titaniumbackup and ROM manager and I don't know what to do. The cwm that I flashed through Odin said cmw6 but when I choose the version on ROM manager for recovery setup, I chose ClockworkMod 3.x+ and my phone says current recovery at cwm 5.x.x.x and I still can't acces recovery mode! Please help it is very frustrating for me. Thank you for reading.

my phone is doing the same thing. i rooted it and then i tried to boot into recovery to install a ROM. the logo comes up and then shakes all over the place and then goes to a black screen. then nothing. i have to press the power button and it boots up normally to the regular phone. i downloaded goo manager and tried to install a recover but it loads for a second and then says no recovery found.
is there a way to install a custom rom using odin? i can bypass recovery using odin right? or does that not work?

You can install a custom recovery using Odin (twrp being one of them). Very few roms are installed using Odin.

Open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time. Flash TWRP. When you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, replace battery, use buttons to boot into recovery.
Thnx for reply.before I saw your reply,I tried the rashr app from playstore.it worked first try.i had tried goomanager, quick boot and some of the other apps with no luck.
Thnx again.now I can flash a more current rom.

Hello everyone,
I'm relatively new at rooting and just so happen the note 10.1 2014 is my first guinea pig.
First off, I have successful rooted my note via Odin 3.09 with CF-autoroot with autorootp600mj4.tar.md5 and stockrecoverymj4.tar.md5. Rootchecker shows that it's rooted.
Next I installed Titanium backup and back up and then uninstall all 5 files of Knox securities.
Next I installed GooManager and installed TWRP from OpenSourceRecovery option and then rebooted with recovery.
So now is where the problem starts. Whenever I tried rebooting into recovery, I keep getting the Android recovery system (with red triangle sign and a laying down android picture).
Here's some method that I did to try and fix this.
1. Manually reboot recovery ( Did not work) goes into Android recovery system again.
2. I reinstalled TWRP again using GooManager, still doesn't work.
3. Downloaded the appropriate TWRP .tar files for Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2014 from TWRP main site and flash with Odin. I got a Pass!. Then when I do a reboot recovery, it goes into the Android recovery system again.
So far I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've checked to make sure every step is correct, especially when I was rooting (E.g. making sure USB debugging is enabled, open source is enable, and so on)
I've tried to find my solution via google but to no avail. If you have any suggestions, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.:good:
I had same issue. You have to install it with Odin.

Simply flash via Odin, but untick " Auto Reboot " within odin before flashing.
Reboot manually into recovery , you will get a permanent TWRP
Got it
Thank for reassuring me that it can be done.
I found out the problem. The tar files from TWRP that I donwloaded was the wrong version. TWRP version was openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-lt03wifiue.img. And I used that to flash on Odin and it worked thereafter. I hope this will help other people who have similar issues.
I try the CF-Autoroot , but I can't figure out the step 4.when step 3 finished, reboot, then into system, now, reboot into recovery mode, nothing happened,"confirm stock recoverys presence" I can't see this option, How can I root this device,,,oh my GOD!!!

After you run cf to root, you will need to install recovery. TWRP is working for the tab s,and cwm (clockwork mod) I think is available ,but I havent tested it. Find the thread here on xda. After you install recovery, you can get to recovery by powering off the tab, then reboot by pushing and holding power, volume up and menu button. You can also download apps like quick boot, that will initiate recovery mode.
