I am quite frustrated, and wondering if there is a problem with my phone, or if I could have made some sort of unintentional setting change for my SGS2. I have had the phone for 2 weeks with no problems, but all of a sudden today my Google Voice Actions and Vlingo will not work. From my best assessment, it is not hearing my voice or not hearing it well enough to make anything out. Whenever I speak something into the phone -- and I have done this on this phone and my HD2 so I'm not new to speaking my requests -- it will sometimes immediately come back and say "No Matches Found". Once in a while it will open a browser window, and try to searc for 1 or two or three letter gibberish words: i.e. "bh", or "fns", or "g". It certainly does NOT recognize ANYTHING it used to! Just for fun, I downloaded JEANNIE, which seems to be another voice-action-type program. That also does not work. The microphone icon doesn't seem to light up much (which further makes me think it cannot "hear" me, and the program responds with, "pardon?" Phone calls I make are ok -- people can hear me -- just not these programs!! IS there a setting that I could have changed that prevents the programs from hearing my voice?? BTW, I did try to go to the Voice Actions app in MANAGE PROGRAMS and erased data, but that didn't help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I'll take it back to the store and see if they'll exchange it or know what's going on!
Thank you all for your reading this and for your help!

Did you reboot or at least kill and restart the app?
uninstall it and then reintall it i just tested mines and i hav no issuses but ive only had my sinse thursday plus i rooted mines and removed most of the carrier apps
dude vlingo sucks man, the galaxy version is so much better
Does anyone know how, when in car mode, to get VLingo to navigate to a contact (say Home, for example)? You would think this would be a basic function for a hands-free program in car mode, but I can't figure it out. Everytime I say "Navigate to Home", it tries to take me to some Home bakery or something like that. Can I even navigate to an address I give it with this thing?
I know it's been overhyped, but Siri is the one thing from that fruit phone I wish this phone had. Don't get me wrong. I was so close to getting the "other" phone, but opted for the Samsung instead. And after playing around with the iphone, I'm glad I did. But Vlingo seriously makes me want to punch it in the screen sometimes.
Well, I figured out how to get Vlingo to go home. Go to Vlingo->Settings->Voice talk Settings->Home address and type in your home address. Now you can say "Navigate to Home".
But after using it more, I see more problems with it. Vlingo can navigate to restaurants, but not contacts. It can call contacts, but not restaurants. WTF Vlingo?!? Can we get all of the above please in the near future?
OK guys, some of you know our work. I am going to the states for their capitalist xmas holidays and will buy one of these silly plastic phones again to check for issues. But before then, we need some feedback on our existing apps. Most importantly Root Call Blocker and Call Master.
Root Call Blocker - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13213850
Market - https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta&feature=search_result
This is the basic call blocker we make. Uses the same daemon but is for noob users. If you are not a customer, you can approximate full functionality through Google Contact Groups. Use the online contact manager to create your group if you down own the full version.
Call Master: - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291587
Market - https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.blacklist&feature=search_result
CM is our professional-grade call management app. Its in beta at the moment, so you dont have to perform any craziness for the testing. Just download from the market and get with the program.
Please test the apps thoroughly - this means clicking on everything and then, if you have issues or suggestions, sending logs with detailed descriptions of your issue through the "Write to us" dialog.
Thanks guys. I know many of you will be devs, so hopefully you are willing to help others. On that note, if you need any help, i am always willing to offer mutual assistance
Call Master
This is what I've tested so far: Green Led illuminates when an action is met
Tested standard blocking by adding a specific number: Good
Tested all wildcard entries (455*, ##455*, etc): Good
Tested unknown/restricted numbers: Good
Tested Not in Contacts: Good
Gate Keeper (nice feature): Not working
I tried everything on this one. Had set under uknown numbers, 1 min interval, 2 calls. Did not completely understand the interval setting so I tried both possible situations (2 calls with in 1 min and 2 calls with a 1 min lapse). Also tried with 3 calls/5 min interval. Could not get it to allow calls with gate keeper.
Log sent
Schedules: Works (Kinda)
When a set time frame is set for a profile, It will block properly. Once outside of the time schedule, it still continues to block.
Log sent
Thanks - but did you include descriptions in these logs you sent?
Also, schedules will keep using the last profile in the cue, that is not a bug.

yes i included descriptions
Yep, i see it now. Its an error all right - the daemon seems to be going down when gatekeeper is enabled.
I am going to the states on sunday so i will get the gn and hopefully fix the issue first thing after xmas, around the 27th.
Thanks very much for the help!
By the way, i tried to thank your post, but apparently im limited to 5 thanks a day. What a joke, ill have to take this up with the rd committee
no problem
I see you have the program in trial phase/full version now...copy of full version maybe
I've been using the call blocker for a few days and so far its working great. I tested a few of the settings and no problems. I do have a couple suggestions
I have people that I have blocked because I don't ever want to talk to them again.
-maybe an option to not keep a log in the app of blocked messages/calls because i still feel like i have to go in and check it all the time so an option to not save the history in the app would be nice. right now i had a friend set the password and not tell me it. so far I cannot find a call blocker app on the market which you can opt out of keeping your blocked history in the app.
-also the interface for setting profiles and exceptions took me a while to figure out as it was confusing for me. but that could just be me.
- lastly a setting to automatically reply to a blocked sms and not just calls. i didn't see an option for that maybe i missed it? I use "Your number has been blocked (automated message)" and would like it to say that to blocked texts also.
anyway, thank you for the great app! major stress reliever

Hi. If you are talking about CM, both of your suggestions are already there.
You can stop people in a list from being logged entirely by unticking "Log" in the Blocking action Settings you have added to that list. RCB also supports this.
Also, both apps apply the auto-reply function to contacts, which mean that both calls and sms will be replied to. In RCB this can only be done through Global or Exception settings.
ah great thank you! Somehow I missed that, I still cant find where to auto-reply to SMS. I only see the box for "Enable SMS auto-replies for blocked calls" i tested and it works but only for calls, if i add someone to my blocked exceptions the only options are default, block, block&save, or don't block.
i am using the paid version of Root Call Blocker
Sorry i dont know if this thread is purely for testing and reporting bugs, i dont mean to hijack. If there is a different place to ask these questions I will do so there.
The option is for both! How is the new update?
Just purchased a license for Call Master -- looking good!
Thanks, please leave a review on the market if you like it. Just click the little star icon
So, have your issues been fixed?
Any issues to report with 1.2?
Working perfect here - one issue when restoring app from a new rom flash - quickly moved to restored Root Call Blocker and tested to find not working properly - uninstalled and downloaded again seemed to fix it - guess something messed with root so manually adding to su may have fixed without the uninstall - first class and best tried
Thank you!
Regarding restoring. Yep, this is generally an issue with superuser. Just go into su and forget rcb, then go into rcb and restart the ril or telephony so it prompts for su rights again.
Or

An update has been released:
1.0.6
Only active profiles can now be cloned
Fixed UI issue on Galaxy Nexus that squeezed icons together during orientation change
My Sprint voicemail disappeared. I have no idea if some buttons got pushed while my phone was in my pocket, or if I have some kind of virus, or if maybe a recent program i downloaded did something, but that voicemail is nowhere to be found on my phone and I did not uninstall it. The only evidence it was ever there is a folder on the sd card named smvvm, where there are a bunch of voicemails. Incidentally, the friendstream page disappeared also maybe about a month or two ago, but I don't really care about that. The last program I downloaded was Lookout, but I haven't even set it up yet. Seems like voicemail has been gone for a week or two. I just want to get it back working the way it was a couple of weeks ago. The reason i'm posting here is because my phone is rooted. The problem here is that I rooted right after gingerbread 2.33 came out and i have not touched it since, and I have no idea what I used or how i did it. But everything was working fine, i even did the trial voice to text thing (that wasn't all that great- at least not good enough to pay for) So, I can't call sprint for support on this. The only thing I have backed up is text messages, i did not install (or at least do not remember installing) anything to make an image of the phone, is there a way i can just get the file to install the current sprint voice mail without having to do a factory reset and have to go through all the stuff to re root?/
Just get Google voice. Its way better anyways. Or ask someone on here to post the vvm.apk .....don't stress bud. Its a real easy fix

Ok, I tried google voice and it's been sitting here for a half hour updating settings. Maybe it's uploading all those voicemails then??

Search is your friend (or at least it's supposed to be). And I don't see why you wouldn't be able to call Sprint - VVM is free, only the transcription feature is a subscription service. Not that they could help you with this anyway . . .
I've been looking around this forum ever since I got my phone last year. It's always been helpful. Now, I am looking for more help.
I live in Toronto and my carrier is Rogers. I have the AT&T LG G3 D850 unlocked. I bought it second hand on eBay. The first thing I did when I got it was did a factory reset.
The first problem I noticed when I first got it was that the contacts list duplicated every time I opened it. I think it might be copying the contacts from my SIM card each time I opened the contacts? I don't know. I soon downloaded an app (Contacts+) to call people. Another reason was because every time I opened my contacts, the AT&T address book popped up. It didn't create much problem, but it was a very annoying. I soon just got used to using Contacts+.
The phone hasn't given me much problem since until recently. I realized I had no idea how to update my android version. It is still running 4.4.2. I did a bit of research and the words "rooting" and "flashing" got my head spinning. I tried to understand myself, but I just don't understand how to update my android or if I even can.
The thing that made me realized that this is a problem that I can't live with is my phone calls and text messages are causing problems. It's getting harder to open to my messages. It loads a long time and sometimes freezes. Sam with my calls. Dialing out or receiving causes my phone to freeze up. Sometimes waiting works. Sometimes I need to restart my phone. Sometimes I have to wait a bit to be able to restart my phone. I am getting popups when I browse the internet, so maybe I got a virus? I do have AVG and Avast on my phone though.
Then there are the few more minor things. My camera seems to take lower quality pictures as compared to when I first got it. My screen seems to be getting less responsive and seems to be dimmer. Phone seems to be warmer than before, but that could just be me. Android File Transfer no longer seems to work, but I assume it has something to do with my calls and messages not working.
What I am asking for is some knowledgeable and patient people to help me optimize my phone. I really don't know where to start. Reading newbie tips get me more confused sometimes. Please help. If this is not the place for this, please move it there or please let me know to delete it. Thanks in advance.
For the contacts problem, you can go to contacts > settings > display options > and then select the contacts you want to be displayed so there aren't any duplicates left.
Also installing two antivirus programs will cause malfunctioning on the phone. So if I were you I should uninstall one of them. If it keeps running slow you should factory reset the phone and try again
You should be able to go into software updates and click update device. It should show several firmware updates because 4.4.2 was quite a while ago. Have a look for that option.
There is no need to root in order to update your phone. Just follow these steps and it will do it all automatically.
If you go to settings, and you stock can get the updates, The easiest way to get your phone updated its using a pc and install the LG suite. You will connect the phone and if detected it will pop the updates.

For months I have hardly problems with this android.process.acore has ended message in my cm11 rooted fire phone installed nano GAPPS (but even with other versions of GAPPS the Problem stayed the same). I have no idea what to do any more, flashed and backuped everything again and again, deleted and restored the contact-datas the way it is discussed in many forums. The problem disappears while disabeling the contact-storage, but this way I cannot use my Fire Phone for phoning from the contacs anymore much less using contacts in Whatsapp . The problem seems to come along with WhatsApp and Facebook and its Messenger, but once installed the problem android.process.acore does not disappear when uninstalling these programs. Anyone got an idea? Thanks a lot for your help!
That's strange, has there been any recent updates to your phone?, i don't know how long you've been on cm11 but amazon recently stopped supporting Facebook who also owns whatsapp. I know someone on stock whose messenger and whatsapp stopped working and the tech on mayday had to relay that to them. Idk if they stopped support through an update or some other means since I haven't been on stock for a very long time. My advice would be to take a logcat and post the issue in the cm11 thread if you can
<romario3600> Thanks for yor advice. I've been with CM 11 from the very beginning and I don't really remember when the problem started, might be like half a year before.. That's weird, for any reasons that android. access. accore disappeared now after uninstalling both facebook and its messenger. Didn't know that the support stopped and this might have caused it. I got a solution now with a third party facebook version by apache. It's working well until I found a solution for my problem.
I have still no idea...
Now the android.process.acore is happening again. I uninstalled all the apps (facevook and it's messenger) that caused the malfunction. Now I got another app called Immonet that claimed the same rights with synchronisation owitg contact data. I uninstalled this app with all data and even wiped the old folders. But the error promt does not disappear anymore I did not find anything all over the net anyone having the same problems that I do.. Anyone got an idea how to solve this one out? I'm so much disappointed, hardly thinking of buying another phone but I like this fire phone with CM11 a lot.

As a last resort if you have the time and effort to put in, id say revert to stock and do a factory reset the normal way using the fire phone's recovery. That should at least ensure that everything is wiped and back to default. After that try downloading and installing CM11 again, don't cut any corners where you might have to wonder if something went wrong. Once the systems boots properly try installing the play store as well as messenger and whatsapp and see how things go from there. avoid rooting the device until you are sure things work
I got another completely new fire phone, rooten CM11 now from the latest FireOS 4.6.1..1. and at the beginning everything worked fine up to now. Now I got the same android.process.accore message again on this completely different device. As this problems is not very common I got now the idea that it might have anything to do with the synchronisation of google contact and it's permission management with these programs that have the rights to read sync the contact storage. But no idea ehat it might be exactly. A while ago I deleted all my contacts on the Google server. Is it possible that the synchronisation got a problem now with my different devices that were once registered on the server with not always having the very same telephone directories? How to solve it if my venture is right?
I just solved this (I hope, so far so good) on my Sony Xperia Z2 tablet. I cleared data on any and every app that had anything to do with Contacts. I went right down the list in All Apps. If it used contacts, I cleared it. That meant Gmail and Hangouts, Messenger, etc.
Before I did this, I tried to write an email and litterally had the error with every single letter. Since I did this, I haven't seen it once. I wrote out an email address on a draft email and posted 2 posts (this will be the third) here. No error yet!
Not an expert. Just a user and fellow acore victim, sharing what worked for me. Though I have been in tech support for 17 years (just more of a Windows PC tech really).

I will check this out on the weekend when there's some time for me doing so. Will tell you if it worked.
