I just received my S6 Edge from T-mobile, when I shake it sounds like something inside is loose. Anybody else have this problem?
After a closer look, it seems as if the camera in the back is loose. In the picture you can see it is not properly aligned.
It's the image stabilizer.

So are you saying the rattling is caused because of the image stabilizer? or just the part of the camera not being aligned?

The image stabilizer isn't being used so it just flops around.
Test it out, shake with camera open and closed.

Learned something new today, thank you.
Thanks a lot guys, i was just about to take mine back to the shop but i thought i'd check to see what the xda guys are saying. This just made my day. Thanks again.
good thing i bumped into this thread. was worried bout my s6.
I still hear some loose sound on camera on my s6
Do you know whats wrong?
I have the same problem, is my phone messed up?
If you open the camera program and shake it, does the sound diminish or go away. Probably just the stabilizer and that is normal then.

Does anyone know what the hole is for on the top right corner on the back of the GN? Images below. You can also search for cases on Ebay and it is on all of them.
Noise-cancellation mic.

I don't see a mic hole on any of those pictures. And if you look at the second picture, it almost looks like a camera.
No GN I've seen so far has a mic in that location and that would be a pretty bad location for it.

Oh, yeah, a camera, that's it... No clue what that big ole thing an inch away is, but that tiny hole that you didn't even see - yeah that's a camera...
And please do tell why that would be a horrible location for a mic?

I never said it was a camera. I said whatever is behind that hole in the second picture just looks like one, alright? Cool.
And if you are on speaker phone and you place your phone down the noise cancelling mic is obstructed. Not that hard to realize honestly. Also, many people put their index finger on the top right of the phone when they hold it to their ear.

If you put the phone down in the way you describe you would also be obstructing the speaker... Most people set the phone with the speaker up for that.
I cannot fathom holding my phone in a way that obstructs that mic, however, even if i did, I would still have a regular phone call...

What's odd about it?
If it is a noise cancellation mic then its in the perfect position so I would back that theory. Up against the ear it would pick up surrounding sounds to minimize external sounds, in speakerphone operation (screen face down) it would act the same way and as the phone is quite long very few people would put their finger over the top of the phone to obstruct it.
Mark.
I think its the speaker.

You don't need a dedicated hole for the barometer. Any whole anywhere would do.

The barometer doesn't need a hole. It can just be inside the phone. It doesn't need a specific port to measure pressure. The pressure in the phone is the same as outside the phone, and there are plenty of ports on the phone already (the inside obviously isn't air tight).

LOL. That would be awesome, but the hole is way too small for the lanyard though
and it would need 2 holes for that
And its at the wrong end of the phone lol.
Mark.
just for reference, on the SGS2
the mic is at the bottom, and the noise cancellation mic is at the top, pretty close to where the opening of the GN case is showing
so i wouldn't be surprised if there's really a NC Mic in that location
after all it's just a pin hole, i don't think those pics are high quality enough to show it

It doesn't make much difference with other software either. Day photos are manageable but photos taken at night are as equal to some vga quality images.
Can we have… the sample of images taken at daytme and night??

For it from the plastic and then open Alcamrh you will notice the difference immediately.
Third: Increase adhesive tape, taking into account the good Cleaning Units to the lens.

I have the same device and had a similar problem. Simple fix for this. The lens is just dirty it has a film build up on it. If you clean with toothpaste and a quetip it will clear right up. I know this sounds odd but worked great for me.
Let me know if this hlps

My problem is exactly what's written in the title. I don't know what happened but all of a sudden the rear camera stopped focusing all together! Goes without saying that I'm pretty upset about it. I did do some mods to the camera that I found here, 1080 60 FPS mod. I don't know if that had anything to do with it. It was working perfectly for a week after.
Is there any way to know for sure if it's hardware or software related? I tried restoring from LG Back-up to a time when the camera worked but that didn't fix it. I'm not sure LG Back-up saves anything related to the camera besides maybe the apk. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I want my camera working again so bad!!

Have you tried going into manual mode and adjusting the focus? Just wondering if manual focus has any affect at all, even if it isn't focusing properly.

Yeah I tried and it doesn't seem to do anything. I also noticed my front camera doesn't focus either. I can't remember if it ever did though. Can you check to see if yours does? When I tap to focus the front camera I see a blue box on the screen but it never turns green or changes focus. Front pictures seem to be more or less in focus though.
Sent from my VS986
The fact that the front camera doesn't focus either makes me think it's more software related than hardware. I might try doing a factory reset and seeing what happens.
Sent from my VS986
there's no focus in front camera just a blue box, also it may be stupid but check if the lens is clean, a smudge on the lens can cause the cam to lose focus

You're correct. I checked on my G2 and found it does the same thing. Just a blue box. Well back to thinking it might be hardware. I ordered a new rear camera module. Hopefully that fixes it. I did drop my phone before I started having this problem so maybe I damaged the camera, even though everything else seems to be fine.

Replaced the rear camera today. Found a stock replacement on Ebay for $13.95USD. I'd like to comment on how easy it is to replace parts in this phone! I love it! Compared to the G2, with its multiple boards, antenna wires, and already stressed ribbon cables, this job was a breath of fresh air!
Anyway everything is working perfectly now! So mods can delete this post to avoid clutter or you can leave it as a warning maybe? I dropped my phone from a height of probably 15 inches, even with no visible external damage (thanks to bumper case), the camera was damaged.

Thats more to do with lighting and wb mismatch. see this post on the subject. Magenta is not a hardware problem.

Did you have to update any software after installing the new camera? I'm having the same issue with the camera focusing after a drop but when I installed the new camera the phone wouldn't recognize it...
Had to reinstall the faulty camera again.. I'm not sure if the site I bought the replacement part from sent me a bad part or if there's a step I missed.
I had the focus problem, on the back camera only when in landscape mode...strange right? I tried literally everything to solve a possible software issue with no luck...how did I finally solved it? Replacing camera module. Look no further..

I'm a bit concerned as my bottom camera lens is sitting off centre to its enclosure. See attached image. From what I understand there is some movement of the lenses for stabilisation, but I thought that was just the top and middle, and they revert back when the camera app is opened. However, the bottom one constantly sits to the bottom right, even after launching camera app. Is this bad workmanship or completely normal? Anyone else's the same?
Try rotating the phone and keep watching the lenses. See what happens.

Bottom lens stays still - the others move. The actual enclosure doesn't seem in line with the other lenses.

They actually do move as they're equipped with Optical Image Stabilisers. https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/note9-camera-not-centered/
I'm just wondering about the housing and whether others who have this phone have an off centre enclosure on the bottom lens. Anyone else? Yes or nos accepted as responses... Am considering returning it. Not sure it's a big issue but a bit annoying if it's dodgy build quality.

You're absolutely right - I stand corrected - my apologies. I just assumed that's why the other two were off centre. Will take it to exchange. Hoepfully they're not all like this. Thanks!
Hi - I just started having an issue where my camera focuses fine on anything close up, but is very blurry for anything medium or farther away.
I have tried to use the Manual Focus function but its still failing to focus on anything more distant than a couple of feet.
Please advise? Thank you

thanks for the reply. sorry should have included more.
Its a stock S9 on AT&T. The normal camera that comes with that phone.
Sounds like the focus micromoter failed.
Dropped or gotten wet before the failure?
Any updates or new apps added?
Try:
Make sure the lense protector is clean.
Clearing the system cache
Hard reboot
Clear cam data
I did drop it a couple of days ago.
There are some cracks in the lower corner on the back, but not near the camera thats visible. You think thats whats causing this?

Yeap.
Hard to say what was damage. May just be a dislodge connector.
Likely the cam module or possibly the mobo.
Always use a good case; high G impacts can even damage chipsets internally although it's more likely a solder joint will fail.

I know that fear...
When I do take the case off it's always on a bench top, table, etc. The phone stays there until the case is back on. The 10+ is a slippery fish with no case... I'm very careful about that.
