first off, I'd like to give thanks to everyone on this fantastic site, it's been incredible reading tutorials on here and learning a whole lot of tricks. this here is my first thread and before I go off to look for those I owe *thanks to* I have a question am hoping I can get help with.
my HTC One (GSM) is unlocked, has a Custom Recovery (TWRP 2.3.3) and is rooted. I can install custom 4.0.. ROMS (currently running myONEv RC9.5 FX+ by ckpv5). I have however tried several times to install 4.2.2 ROMS that are on here but to no avail. with the little knowledge that I have gained after several attempts, I realise that the 4.2.2 ROMS are not flashing properly as they don't bring on a custom installer like the ROMS that are working.
can somebody please tell me why? should I update my recovery? or is there something I'm missing?
P.S, I can't seem to get a working 2.5.5 TWRP, at the developers website, their download always dies at 99.9%. ALWAYS
my phones details are as follows
PRIMOU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.16.0000
RADIO-3831.15.00.19_M
eMMC-boot

4.2.2 ROMS have some bugs so i suggest u try some other ROMS
however if u want 4.2.2 , u can always flash it and USE THE CORRECT KERNEL
BTW, 4.2 ROMS dont bring up a custom installer so its normal
if in ur recovery it says succesful then the rom is flashed properly but check if u have the appropriate kernel
You dont need to update recovery however it is best doing so; your current recovery is just fine
EDIT: use this kernel : http://www.mediafire.com/?y04jyyu2wk2fig3
well..

I want 4.2.2 so badly its eating me up . will settle for a 4.1.. if I don't get it right. it's just so darn pleasing seeing my ROM much much higher than all my friends..
thank you for that piece of knowledge about the 4.2.2 ROMS not having installers. I pretty much thought that was the problem. I have been successful in installing the zips but not once have I gotten past the HTC developer warning (recovery boot animation?). I have been using the kernels that are inside the zips, going to try to load PACMAN 4.2.2 with the kernel you just gave me.
one last question, why can't I see the thank you button? is there a number of times am supposed to post before I can use it? am on a PC so am supposed to see everything, right??

If your GSM, the latest PACman ROM has issues
u can boot it with the given kernel but u wont get any mobile data connection
if u must try a 4.2 rom then go for Paranoid Android 3
dunno abt the thank u button, didnt happened to me(PC)
maybe you're just signed off?

Not 100% sure but looks like you flashed with reactivation lock on... Only way I know is to flash original stock rom but you may have flashed the new Kitkat bootloader.
You will need the Kitkat rom for your region to fix...

Mate, flash stock JB... Don't throw a new OS into the mix... It's easier if you use what you have 1st, fix it, then upgrade...
Ok bro i will try ...
Thanks for your help

Your problem is that you have flashed Xkat ROm without first flashing a stock 4.4.2 as clearly mentioned in the installation instructions of the ROM.
I think that now you have to try to flash A Stock 4.4.2 with Odin to get your tablet working again.
Well ...

Hi, I am a rooted Samsung Galaxy Duos i9082, with a Paranoid 4.4.4 Kitkat Rom. Now recently i tried to go back to stock but was unsuccessful. I tried to install the CM10.1 Based MIUI we have for our phones, But was unsuccessful again. What the problem is that when i try to boot after flashing a 4.2.2 ROM .. It's stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Logo and wont go further even after 30 minutes. Later that day i tried reinstalling Paranoid 4.4.4 kitkat ROM and it boot up in a Jiffy. If anyone can provide me with a solution I would be really grateful. I really wanna use the Stock rom again !

Its a Bootloader issue. Kitkat rom needs 4.2.2 bootloader while cm 10.1 or miui based on it requires 4.1.2 bootloader. This means you need 4.1.2 stock rom on phone before you install cm 10.1 miui rom
Thats why cm10.1 based miui is not booting up while Kitkat based roms are booting fine.
Developer of touchwiz revolution has stated that rom boots on 4.2.2 or 4.4.2 based rom
Have u tried wiping data, cache?
If yes and rom still doesn't boot. Then I suggest you to flash stock firmware though Odin. Let it boot again. And then install the recovery again via odin
Odin v3.04 is recommended.
Now you have a rooted phone and Kitkat based rom then while flashing touchwiz revolution 4.2.2
I will suggest you to format /system, /data, /cache through the recovery Then flash the TW revorevolution 4.2.2 rom.

Well i'm totally lost and depressed because i think i ruined my phone , i tried to flash a custom kernel on my GT-N7100 that didn't go well , first it was stuck on "Downloading don't turn off !! " and then i tried to fix it through resetting factory settings and still the same !!! , after that with absolute dumbness i ruined my recovery mode selecting custom recovery in bootloader option in odin , and now i don't know what to do , even tried to install other custom recoveries but nothing worked , So please could anyone help me , and i also want to know , that if i installed an official firmware through download mode which is still working would that fix anything ?? .
PLEASE I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP :crying::crying:
Were you running a stock or custom ROM before flashing the kernel? What version?
Flash via Odin a stock ROM. Preferably the same version. Pick the stock ROM from Sammobile that suits your phone.
After that you will need to re-root your phone again

Thaaaaaaaanks for responding , i actually installed the old fashion kitkat through download mode which i'm very thankful that it was still working , and after i flashed it , it came to my mind that my phone is formatted no data to lose , why not go ahead and try to install custom roms ; I love to learn always , and i managed to install CM ,
But here is another question that is not another puzzle in the way . Back then when i ruined my phone i was trying to flash AGNI kernel , i 've red about it and how it's cool for anyone , now i'd like to flash it on CM , but the catch is : I won't eat from the same plate twice , and also i noticed that CM using it's own kernel which is responsible for it's own resources , hence i'd like to know does flashing this "Agni Kernel " on CM this time causes the same trouble .
I have to versions of this kernel 1- PSN_pureCM_11_12+_smdk4x12_ANYROM-AROMA-v4.5.1_N7100_OC
2 - PSN_AGNi_pureSTOCK-v4.4.5_N7100_4.4.x_AROMA
My android GT-N7100
And thanks .
I am bootloader unlocked, s off, and rooted running candysix custom rom wanting to just either upgrade to nougate or even just another mm rom like venom but everytime i flash another rom it says it works but everytime when i reboot it starts up right back into the bootloader screen insteaf og the new rom forcing me to do a recover and start again. Im doing a clean flash and even tried a dirty flash and nothing. Im sorry if im overlooking something basic im sure i am because its not my first custom rom install but i cant figure out whats wrong. Should i flash a custom kernel too? I thought the roms would have that baked in? Please help! Thank u in advance
