[Q] [q] [bricked][htc desire hd] [help needed to revert to stock] - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone this is Shawiee. Lately I've been working on my HTC DHD and I've tried to root it with Kingo Root after I unlocked my bootloader. After doing that automatically a new recovery (CWM 5.0.4...) was installed so I thought I had permanent root and I was ready to install a custom rom. So I downloaded one called Jellytime 4.1.2 and after I wiped the factory data, cache and dalvik cache I installed the ROM. My phone is T-Mobile branded so whenever I try to turn it on it just vibrates once then freezes on the T-Mobile logo. I've tried many RUU's and many PD98IMG's to revert it to stock but none of them helped so I'm looking for a way to make it boot again, no matter what version of android or HTC Sense gets installed. I can lock/relock the bootloader because I have access to bootloader whenver I press volume down+power button so basically I just need a way to make it work again, so please if anyone can help me show me a way, completely if possible to make my HTC work again. It's S-ON, ACE V SHIP but you can look the photo down here to check the detalis:
Check the bootloader at the bottom of the page at the attachments, relocked for the moment but I can unlock it if it's needed. I never created a goldcard so if it's needed, please show me how to!
I also have a photo of how the screen shows up when I try to power on, that T-Mobile logo so there are three photos.
Finally, I repeat I just want a way back to make my HTC Desire HD work again, no matter if rooted or unrooted, no matter the version of android I just want a working RUU, PD98IMG or whatever. Peace, Shawiee.

Your prob is that your device is branded. T-Mobile. Find the thread pertaining to your device. U might have to flash a t mobile branded ruu
---------- Post added at 08:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:13 PM ----------
Since you can access boot loader. Do that and in a cmd prompt run fastboot getvar all. That will help us see your specs

Of course, check the detalis down there.
There is a problem about the RUU, I can't find a T-Mobile RUU, that's why I started this thread.

I'd really appreciate you a lot for this but can you be more specific with which RUU should I choose in that page and is there anything to do except following the instructions for the RUU? And are you sure this is for HTC DESIRE HD?

Look at your cidnum..also look at your baseband version. Put those two things in Google search engine. Ie: tmob101 cidnum HTC desire

Alright, I started downloading a RUU.exe that's for Desire HD, it's the correct CID and the correct T-MOB. One last question. To run the RUU in the right way with .exe do I need to have S-OFF or Goldcard?

You can relock the phone and flash the ruu. it wont work with an unlocked bootloader. The easiest method is to download the right RUU file for you phone. Check that by-
Enter fastboot on phone.
Open cmd on PC
-fastboot oem readcid
then you need to flash stock boot.img Search the forum, stock boot.img are all over here and place it in the fastboot directory.
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
and then relock bootloader.
-fastboot oem lock
make sure you download the right RUU for your CID.
Once you have it flash it.
hope this helps

I know I'm a bit late to this, but I'm having a similar problem. Trouble is I can't find the right RUU version. Only found the 1.26 version, I need the 1.29.206.11. Can anyone help me in finding this, or alternatively if there is a stock restore I can have?
Currently running RD MIUI, Rooted, with CWM recovery. Microphone has stopped working and I need to send it back to O2 but want to get back to vanilla before I do.
Only part i'm stuck at is getting the stock ROM back, starting to get a little desperate!

[Q] Bricked HTC Desire HD, Nothing seems to work.

Hey there,
Lately i have been trying to flash a Cyanogenmod 11.1 (unofficial rom), but as you read this on XDA you already now it failed.
I have an HTC Desire HD, and have CWM installed, But am not rooted since it was unrooted when CWM was installed. When i tried to flash the rom i first did the usual stuff (wiping data, dalvik and battery stats). and after that i tried to flash it, but the installation aborted because of error 1(not sure if it was 1 or 7).
From that point i cant do anything with my phone except going into the HBoot menu, and going into recovery.
When i just power up the phone i shows the HTC booting logo, and after that it automatically goes to CWM.
In the Hboot menu it shows me:
**** UNLOCKED ****
ACE PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0029
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.14.52.27
eMMC-boot
Dec 22 2011, 14:28:19
And i can select Fastboot, recovery, factory reset, simlock or image crc.
I tried flashing some other roms, but all of them failed. I also tried a few different RUU's but these also failed..
Hope someone can help

If you are still having this problem, i recommend installing a rom from cwm and then (since you're s-on) going to your computer, opening the rom zip, taking out the boot .img, then going into bootloader on your phone going down to fastboot then plug it in to your computer and fastboot flash the boot.img. fastboot tutorials are all over youtube.

[Q] What is the safest way to gain S-off on HTC DHD?

Friends
I have a HTC Desire HD, with the following specs:
CyanogenMod 11-20140804-unofficial/M9-ace
Android 4.4.4
It has TWRP as recovery
SHIP S-ON RL

Thanks, marknoll. I looked at that thread and at the various options for getting s-off and it seems that it is not easily done.
I know how to install a updated ROM without having s-off so I just have to stick to that method then.

Sorry, I have forgotten what happened and it is a while ago.
Anyay here is my latest to your suggestion on that thread
:
Do you want me to run the script mentioned and forget about the latter part, the flashing of the current Phiber 2000?
It says I have to have:
- original ROM
Original boot image ( this is not the HBOOT)
original Recovery
Not sure if I have those?
It says I need a formatted card. I do, with data and a functioning Cyanogen installed. Will that script wipe it?
Sorry about all the questions.
Calle
Idk to be honest. I used the original aahk which ran the script for me. All I did was hit buttons.lol. try aahk2 again..or maybe search for the users glevitan ,bannagranola or gizmoe. They can help

Anyway, I will not be able to do anything until later next week as I do not have the computer handy on which I have tried to get the HTC to have s-off.

I can't back to stock because, not have original rom, firmware and ruu for this M8. It's a DE phone supposedly, but i can use it from Hungary with my Hungary sim card.
I wanna try to upgrade once and the phone bricked and i install twrp and a stock rooted rom from android revolution hd.
You'll probably run into problems if your firmware is out of date. S off may get you out of a hole

By DE you mean Developer's Edition? But your top post says T-MOB101.
If you don't know what your version is, you'll never get an RUU to work.
You can restore to stock nandroid from the collection posted on these threads, but again you need to know your correct CID version.
Do fastboot getvar all, and post the output (be sure to delete IMEI and serial numbers, as these are personal info) and we may be able to determine your actual CID version.

To OP, still need getvar output to properly identify the right stock nandroid.

I clearly posted previously (Post #5 above) to delete your IMEI and serial numbers from getvar output. These are personal data what should never be posted online. Please delete these numbers for your own protection.

The above info indicates that firmware shouldn't be an issue.
Did you do a full wipe (data, cache, Dalvik) when installing the GPE ROM?

It sounds like you are trying to do 2 different things:
- Flash the ROM zip in TWRP
- Flash the RUU (s-off required)
Which is it? You need to make up your mind, and understand the difference between the 2.

"Wrong image" means you are trying to run an RUU that doesn't match your CID. You need s-off to change CID.

Try downloading the ROM zip to eliminate the possibility that it was corrupted during download.
Did you cancel the option in TWRP to root the ROM, as directed in the ROM thread?

Which is expected, and clearly indicated in the ROM instructions.
But it sounds like at least on the latest flash attempts, you properly cancelled the root option.
I don't seen much reason for the bugs you are experiencing. Did you try to download the ROM again as previously suggested?

Have you found the RUU as signed Zip or .exe File?
When as .exe you must activate the USB-Debugging on your Phone.
You find this in Settings/Developer/ options.

Why you do not try to update via the bootloader?!
Rename the RUU.zip to 0PKVIMG.zip and when you have copy this Zip on your external microSD, you can Flash.
Okay I hope also that it is the correct RUU for your device but it does not work then contact the HTC Support.
I've done it in the past often and I was helped.
Sure NAAS1, when you have again questions then write here.
Best regards,
leather.face ...
Edit: @NAAS1, have you also on your device the correctly Stock recovery or the TWRP??? You need the Stock recovery for a Factory Reset in the Bootloader !
Thanx for help, i solved my problem flashing rom.zip in fastboot. I have to used Htc Fastboot.
