Thanks! Made some changes to a Watchmaker face..
Changes from Facer watchface: Added High, low and current temperature. Added some spots for starting apps om my watch. Added Steps Counter and phone battery. Opacity changed the hour and minute hand.
http://facerepo.com/app/faces/details/modern-classic-sport-for-watchmaker-14c3d79802d
I now prefer Watchmaker over Facer.
PS those weird colours in the picture are some artefacts from the effects within Watchmaker. They don't show up at the watch..

Not sure if anyone else has the same problem. I have tried Watchmaker last week for few days but both of my phone and watch experienced horrible battery drainage. Battery on both devices are dropping like 4 to 5 times faster than usual. I will stick with Facer for now.

Had the same problems with Watchmaker a couple months ago. But since someone was talking about the cool features of it I gave it another try and guess what... no drain at all..
Don't know what is causing it and not sure what I did in between. Maybe did a full reset of the watch what solved it without knowing it..
I'm not going back to facer for now, although just using it for weeks now..
The touch "tap action" is awesome!

[Q] Brighter dimmed watchface?

Hi guys,
During the daytime I want the "dimmed" watchface to be a bit brighter. Is there anyway to achieve this? Do you know of a watchface with a brighter dimmed screen?
Thanks!
in "dimmed" mode there is no backlight so u cant't adjust the "brightness".

Like billdanos says, the screen technology is called transflective LCD and it's pretty cool but you can't increase the brightness.

Any good examples?
Actually, I decided to do one by myself. Used WatchMaker, took me few minutes. It is very nicely visible on SW3 with no backlight ("dimmed mode").

Hard to tell. My approach is to charge SWR50 every 2nd night, and basically nothing changed here. Yet, I was not observing power consumption closely.

I don't use watchmaker but another watch face app: Facer for Android Wear. 2 days-usage is very easy to achieve in my case: always screen-on (reflective screen) + normal usage + power-off in the night (I don't like wear anything when I sleep so I turn it off and left it during the whole night)
Almost 1.8% per hour battery consume is totally fine for me.
Which face from "Watchmaker" seems to be the brightest? I just downloaded it.

[q] *extreme battery drain?*

Peace...
Recently purchased a SS3 Steel from eBay, new out of the box with seal around package. Upon setting it up, I immediately updated it to LolliPop. I synced my apps to my watch (which include the basics like, Wear Launcher, WatchMaker, Facer and etc.). At first I didn,t notice the battery drain, as I was just having fun playing with it. But after a hour or so I was down to 40%--->and I just attributed it to battery having to cycle a couple of times. Here it is day 2 with watch and i have to re-charge it every 4-5 hrs---> this cant be normal.
Is this something to do w/ the recent Android Wear app update? Is there anything I can do to fix this battery drain---or do I have a defective unit?
Suggestions please

Hi, I've had my sm3 about 4 days now and the first couple of days was forever charging the watch. I eventually found the culprit was that I had location switched on in the watch and phone settings. After I disabled it I'm getting easy two days between charges. Location is handy for running or out on the bike but otherwise in day to day use not really needed.
Grant.

New to Moto 360 and need help.

Hi guys, so i just got a moto 360 on the 31st of July and till now im disappointed with it.
The thing is after i have read may posts about the battery life the conclusion i get is that i need to give some time to the watch so the battery can "normalize"?. It´s so bad right now, if i leave the watch home without any use i get a 10% drop in about 4 hours, but as soon as i put it on my wrist i can literally see the battery drop % by %.
So should i give the watch a few more days and charges or should i be worried and return it?
Another issue i have it´s with the android wear app. I can't seem to find that gear icon to go to the definitions. I simply can´t access the definitions on the app on my phone.
PS: I've tried some steps to improve battery life but to no success. They included reseting the watch and cleaning cache etc...
Dunno man, I am not crazy about the battery life, but I get through a full day. I don't use the wifi at all on the watch, but I can easily get through the day. I have some unique problems with my work phone, but the device it cool. I can say for the current price point, I'm pretty happy. The gurus here are cool too, so I'm sure someone smarter than I am can pipe in.
Good luck
It took mine about 4 days to settle in. My brother's took a week. Hang in there. My watch has been on my wrist since 6:30 this morning....it's 9:45 and I have 65% left.
The gear is on the top right of the wear app.

The thing is that the process to begin with gave me trouble. I couldn't pair the watch trough android wear properly so i did pair the watch with my phone trough Bluetooth and android wear seamed to work. I could only change faces and such. On the other hand moto connect said my watch was connected.

Moto 360 after several months of use, my findings

So I've had my Moto 360 for about 4 months or so now and wanted to just say a bit about my experiences with it.
The battery life for me at first was a bit of a problem and it was touch and go if I could go a full day. I don't know if this is because I was fiddling with it so much or if later versions of android wear optimised the battery better, but now I could probably go a couple of days without charging.
I find the standard launcher on android wear quite cumbersome and pants. I've since installed Android Mini Wear which is infinitely better. Unfortunately this doesn't replace the stock launcher but works side by side to it, so you can sometimes end up swiping one way and launching Mini Wear and then swiping the other way and getting the stock launcher, then you have to close both to get back to the main watch screen, bit of a pain. But the devs for Mini Wear say they are working on a way you'll be able to press a small button that shows up on the watch face to launch the full Mini Wear app draw (they currently have this feature but it launches a cut down version of Mini Wear).
A few things I'd love to be able to do with android wear is be able to adjust the timeout screen duration, sometimes it flicks off before I can do what I need to. Also being able to adjust vibrate duration wouldnt go a miss either.
Lastly I've started getting a pain in my wrist, I'm hoping this is unrelated to my watch but I'd be interested to know if any other users get it? Maybe the heart rate monitor constantly reading my pulse could be causing this? Shame you can't stop this from happening as well.
To adjust screen timeout duration try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phonephreak.extendedlight
And I use my watch now for 2 Month and don't have any pain in the wrist
I see some people wear a watch very tight, I myself a personal preference always wear it abit loose like jewelry or a bracelet, I've worn Swatch's for years so maybe I'm just use to it. Never pain.
Sent from my LG-VS980
I've been wearing it since the week it came out. No pains in my wrist from it. I wore it tight with the leather band, and just tight enough that I can't fit my pinky with the metal band. My back is cracked and the plastic pieces that adapt the metal band in are broken and missing pieces, but the screen is pristine after a year, the battery still lasts a whole day, and it's never felt sluggish to me. I don't use a launcher - I don't see the need for one. I pretty much don't use apps - unless it's a card, the face switcher or stopwatch/timer I don't use it.
I love my 360. The 360 V2 is a slight incremental upgrade really offering nothing over the 360 except a much better placement of the crown and the band lugs. I won't be giving up my original 360 for a while.
Though I know my next watch WILL be a Moto watch, because nobody else does wireless charging and I refuse to give it up.

Best review quote of the day. Bravo! hah.
When I first got my 360 the battery life sucked. For an unrelated issue I had to reset the watch, and decided to click "No" to the Google Fit permissions during setup. This has drastically improved my battery life. I'll easily get to the end of the day with more than 50% battery, and that's taking the watch off the charging cradle at 6:40am. So, pretty good! And, the funny thing is, it's the Moto Fit app that's checking your heart rate in the background, not the Google Fit app. So, even with Moto Fit firing up the heart rate sensor all day the battery life is still awesome. Seems like some poor optimisation of the Google Fit app to me. And, on that note, I haven't noticed any pain in my wrist at all and I've been wearing it every day for about two months now. Maybe its an RSI from playing with the watch too much hah

just got a 360 with 5.1.1 and battery life does suck indeed. Going to deny G-Fit and see what happens, I am hoping for a drastic battery improvement at least 2 days. Right now I can barely get one.

Heyo! Looking to get into the smartwatch market this holiday and I figured a $99 moto 360 (if I can find them in stock) would be a nice way to do that. So, is this still a good buy in 2015? I have read the OMAP processor is slow and ancient but, does it get the job done on this watch?

I also have this doubt.
I'll be honest, I got the first gen 360 a few weeks ago because of a credit from Sprint and really wish I would've just put a few more dollars with it and got the Huawei watch.
For $99 you can't really go wrong. Yeah the processor might be a bit long in the tooth, but I don't really have any issues with mine. Plus the 2nd Gen costs loads more and doesn't really add any new functionality apart from looks.
I just find having mine really convenient, with my job I can't be looking at my phone all the time, so its perfect for me. I also find the ability to control music on my phone with my watch very handy when commuting. I'm now about to purchase a set of bluetooth headphones so I can listen to music stored on my watch. I'm in the minority who actually use Google Fit (I charge my phone every night but usually have around 40%-50% of battery left). Its just had strength training incorporated into it, so it can count how many sit ups, press ups or squats your doing, which is useful.
Even better now with the 6.0.1 update! Great value.

About to get my Huawei Watch..

Hey guys I am about to get a huawei watc and use a smartwatch for the first time ...I just got some questions to ask...
First...how good is the battery life ? And is it dangerous to charge the watch overnight ? For like 8- 10 hours
Secondly.... the main reason to get a smart watch is because of the cool looking watchmaker watchfaces my question here is does it consume more battery when I use a complex watch face like those depth engine ones?
And my last question is about tilt to watch feature I have heard that huawei watch has a problem with this feature that it takes more time to wake the screen than it should normally do is that right ? And is it a problem or did they fix it ? And if not can anyone record a video showing how slow is it when tilting the watch cuz I didnt find any videos on youtube
Sorry for my English...and sorry for asking alot but all I know that there is no better place to ask about than xda ...

I just got my watch yesterday, but I can answer most of your questions.
1. Battery life is pretty good so far. I say pretty good because I was busy setting everything up yesterday and I went from 50% out of the box to 24% with about 4 hours of constant use. It should get better over the next few days.
2. I always charge my smartwatches overnight, never have had a problem.
3. It's been my experience (I had the Moto360) that some watch faces consume more battery than others. It's really a matter of testing each one.
4. I found the tilt to wake feature also slow to react, which in my opinion was okay as the Moto360 would wake with the slightest movement (more battery consumption). You can turn that feature off in Android Wear.

everything works fine.

Just got one as well two days ago, had an OG samsung gear that the battery went bad in.
battery life so far for me with the custom ROM/kernel combo here on the forums is tons of notifications, 8am-8pm last two days i get to about 50%
had it on since 9am this morning, it is now 11:18pm still at 30% 4-5 brightness and like i said TONS AND TONS of notifications. approx. 1k notifications a day.
also it is not easy to scratch, the screen is made out of sapphire glass, which is why I wanted the huawei watch to begin with, super SUPER hard to shatter and break, and the cold forged stainless steel is amazing.
sadly i move my hands around and into random places at work in my position and ive hit it a couple times against doors and random objects in the past 2 days ive owned it.
no scratches, no dents no dings no nothing. I love this smart watch, its beautiful, elegant, WELL crafted. Gestures are a bit of a pain for me to get down and seems to be the general only complaint which is whatever for me. but its more than a smartwatch its a piece, and a utility I don't have to worry about it breaking or shattering so easily like other smart watches.
overall VERY happy with my purchase at $240 for the silver w/ black band, btw has quick release bands so this thing supports THOUSANDS of different bands.

I usually get two days use out of mine mainly use for calls, check texts. Having trouble with syncing messages etc, dont think watch fault but glitch of android wear app.
By the way calls crystal clear no feedback like speaker phone.
I get around 4 days of usage. I wear my watch 8-10 hours a day, and when I get it off I am also shutting it down. In this way it doesn't use unnecessary battery while it sits on my desk and also I get more days without charging!
As i am just going to get the one today hopefully, any further suggestion or opinion? Have you ever experienced any red tint issue in Huawei Watch that is still known nowadays?
