Peace...
Recently purchased a SS3 Steel from eBay, new out of the box with seal around package. Upon setting it up, I immediately updated it to LolliPop. I synced my apps to my watch (which include the basics like, Wear Launcher, WatchMaker, Facer and etc.). At first I didn,t notice the battery drain, as I was just having fun playing with it. But after a hour or so I was down to 40%--->and I just attributed it to battery having to cycle a couple of times. Here it is day 2 with watch and i have to re-charge it every 4-5 hrs---> this cant be normal.
Is this something to do w/ the recent Android Wear app update? Is there anything I can do to fix this battery drain---or do I have a defective unit?
Suggestions please

Hi, I've had my sm3 about 4 days now and the first couple of days was forever charging the watch. I eventually found the culprit was that I had location switched on in the watch and phone settings. After I disabled it I'm getting easy two days between charges. Location is handy for running or out on the bike but otherwise in day to day use not really needed.

So I've been researching for a while on which watch to get that can do fitness stuff as well as be a smart watch. I decided to get the moto 360 yesterday because it was only 150$ and there was good reviews about it.
I got it home and started the setup, which was like pulling teeth! Absolutely a pain in the [language removed], half the stuff want working, it keep resetting and unconnecting, it went through 2 updates, and finally it was done, I started messing with it around 5, and by the time I looked it was midnight! So I charged it all night, and woke up about 8, 100% battery, through it on to go do my morning run, and realized it won't work with my note 4 s health, or my fitness pal which are the 2 I use.... Ughhh so I downloaded another fitness app, and said OK Google start a run... Nothing! Instead had to pull it out and open fit, and the other health app run something... I forgot what it was... During my run tried to check my heart rate... Doesn't work! Try to check my mph... Doesn't work.... Say OK Google send a text... Offline... Basically I wasted my entire workout messing with it and it wasn't even fun! So I get to work at noon... And look at my battery, 7%! R u serious! It dies like 5 minutes later! So 3 hrs of unless use and now I have a paperweight on my wrist! I hate it! Any recommendations or other options would be greatly appreciated..... Maybe I should get gear s? Apple watch? Urbane? Sw3? Please help.... I'd like a smart watch and fitness all in one that at least functions.... Sorry for venting! I've never been so disappointed and frustrated! Thanks! I'm also interested in facer, I downloaded it but there's only a few face watches.... I really want to like this watch!
I've had my 360 since last October and love it, I use Strava and cycle 40 mins+ a day then an additional 1 hour+ running a few times a week. I find the battery to last a whole day just fine but if I've been messing with it loads and the battery is looking low I stick it on the charger for 20 mins or so when I get home and that gives it more than enough for a run and then to see it through till bed time.
As for the "offline" I usually get this if I'm out the front of my house trying to start a run and the Phone and watch are struggling with connecting to the WiFi. Once I'm clear of the Wifi (on GMS), or have a good WiFi (close to the house) it's fine.
I bought the watch because I love gadgets, but it's now my everyday watch and love it. I'd stick with it for at least a week or so before you sack it off.

I just got one two days ago too. I was getting terrible battery life my first 24 hours. Even when charging it would lose battery. When I got it I set it up I then realized it wasn't on the latest Wear version so I upgraded to the latest version. I decided maybe upgrading after setup was causing some of the terrible battery life so I did a factory reset, set it back up, and it's working much better.
As for running I installed map my run which is supposed to work pretty well with android wear. I haven't tried it yet as I just ran with only the step counter this morning. I also wanted something to sync my steps into myfitnesspal. After some research I read the Jawbone Up app works with Android Wear and will sync to MFP. Problem is the latest version from three days ago broke it with Wear (based on the comments and my experience). So I found this version http://www.1mobile.com/up-by-jawbone-2526126.html which is a little old but seems to work.
Hope some of this helps...

Battery life will suck when you first start, syncing apps and so on. Give it a couple days. I use UP! for step tracking and I use Run Keeper for my runs. One thing I have noticed is that GPS being on for Run Keeper does hurt the battery (instead of 3%-4% an hour about 6% to 8%). As for the heart rate I have found that trying to take it on demand while I am sweating fails about 80% of the time. I had an app on for awhile that would check my heart rate like every 15 min and then store the average over the hour and that seemed to work, however the battery drain was not worth the data I was getting.
Hi guys, so i just got a moto 360 on the 31st of July and till now im disappointed with it.
The thing is after i have read may posts about the battery life the conclusion i get is that i need to give some time to the watch so the battery can "normalize"?. It´s so bad right now, if i leave the watch home without any use i get a 10% drop in about 4 hours, but as soon as i put it on my wrist i can literally see the battery drop % by %.
So should i give the watch a few more days and charges or should i be worried and return it?
Another issue i have it´s with the android wear app. I can't seem to find that gear icon to go to the definitions. I simply can´t access the definitions on the app on my phone.
PS: I've tried some steps to improve battery life but to no success. They included reseting the watch and cleaning cache etc...
Dunno man, I am not crazy about the battery life, but I get through a full day. I don't use the wifi at all on the watch, but I can easily get through the day. I have some unique problems with my work phone, but the device it cool. I can say for the current price point, I'm pretty happy. The gurus here are cool too, so I'm sure someone smarter than I am can pipe in.
Good luck
It took mine about 4 days to settle in. My brother's took a week. Hang in there. My watch has been on my wrist since 6:30 this morning....it's 9:45 and I have 65% left.
The gear is on the top right of the wear app.

The thing is that the process to begin with gave me trouble. I couldn't pair the watch trough android wear properly so i did pair the watch with my phone trough Bluetooth and android wear seamed to work. I could only change faces and such. On the other hand moto connect said my watch was connected.
Hi,
I have the gen 1 Moto 360 and I've used it pretty consistently since I got it shortly after release. I've recently started having a strange problem - if I turn the watch off (the whole thing through Settings, not the screen), it won't boot. It'll go through the Motorola "M" screen and then start on the Android Wear boot animation, but always crashes there. The screen turns off suddenly without any visible glitches or errors. I can do this all day long and it always crashes in the boot animation, though not always at the same time in it. On the other hand, if I place it in the charger (regardless of how much charge the battery has), it will automatically start booting and will make it all the way through no problem. I've tried booting through Recovery and even doing a Factory Reset but nothing seems to work other than putting it on the charger (which isn't terribly conventient unless I'm at home).
Based on some of the other threads I'm seeing this is probably a fairly minor problem (fairly easy to just not turn the watch off), but does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it (or even why putting it in the charger makes it work)?
Thanks!
Same problem being discussed here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360/help/frustrated-360-off-randomly-t3198154
this exact problem occurred with my first moto360. moto replaced it as though it were still under warranty. the replacement watch is now starting to do the same thing. looks like it is just due to battery age, like their hardware that is designed to prevent it from turning on with a "low" battery is reading it wrong. Android Wear is just unstable enough so that some days Wear doesn't respond and eventually ends with a reboot which means OFF until back at charger, even with 80-90% battery!
i had this exact problem. it was a dodgy battery, i opened the watch up and replaced the battery. Since then it has been good
Finding a good quality WX30 battery in August 2018
Are you able to share where you sourced a 'good' WX30 battery from?
I've been happy with my Moto 360 Gen 1 for exactly 2 years, until a couple of weeks ago when all the classic battery problems started (random shutdowns after a couple of hours, still 70% left, slightly bulging back). I've succeeded in learning how to get out the 4 clips, disassemble and reassemble the body, kudos = search for YouTube 'easy Moto 360 batery replacement video'.
Unless anyone has any good tips, I'm about to play the eBay battery lottery. Motorola has confirmed to me that they do not sell the batteries separately. Typical.

I have literally changed mine this morning... So far so good, no random dying at 70%+ and I ordered this one... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/163139641091
I doubt its genuine. its is 330mAh not 300mAh and is from a different manufacturer, however, its worth a tenner to see what happens! Also, how easy is the dissassembly fromt hat video, I watched the exact same one. was in peices in 10 minutes and back together quicker!

I have the same problem
I leave it charging for 5 to 10 minutes and it will boot up but it also crashes and shuts down itself
I feel like the watch is selfaware

Thanks
I know this has been discussed but I'm about at the end of my rope. About 3 weeks ago, my watch's battery life suddenly went to crap. Before that, I would easily have 40-50% left by the time I went to bed at night. Now I'm about to 50% after 4 hours! I did briefly try the 2.0 developer preview build, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. But I went back to stock and I've tried multiple full wipes but nothing seems to help. I've even tried Negalite's ROM with and without kernel. Nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any tips or any way to troubleshoot?
Like I said, I'm about done with this watch if I can't even come close to making it through a day without charging. I even contacted Huawei support but I have yet to hear anything back.
Thanks,
tim
Hi,
I have no idea what apps are you using, but I occured huge battery drain after change my phone from LG G3 to Galaxy S7 Edge. For 3 weeks I tried to find solution. Few factory resets. And few days ago I found what caused this drain. On my Galaxy I installed LightFlow app (LightFlow have support for Android Wear), after remove Lightflow my battery back to normalcy. Also I noticed better battery life on the phone.
As pablo20520 mentioned, could be highly due to what apps and/or watch face that you use.
Maybe try freezing/removing all apps, and see if there is a difference. If you now have good batterylife, then add apps one at a time and monitor how the batterylife is, this will help to figure which the culprit is.
what apps and watchface do you have on the watch at the moment?
I'm currently just using a stock watch face. I'll try disabling a bunch of apps and see what happens. Thanks!
I've had the Galaxy Watch since March and have played around a lot with faces for it that supposedly show both the Watch and the Phone battery strength. I had many of these on my Moto360 Gen2 watch that I replaced with this Galaxy watch. The Moto faces I used would keep updated with battery strength throughout the day. Every watch face I've tried with the Galaxy tells me I've got 100% most of the day. Occasionally it'll update and show where it's gone from 100%, down to something else, ex. 87%, 56%, etc, without showing any other decreases in between those. Some days, I go all day long with the watch showing I'm at 100%, even though the phone is lower.
I have a Galaxy Note8 and decided to go Galaxy Watch, thinking they would actually be more compatible. It seems like I had better interoperability with the Android Watch than I do with this Tizan based watch, even though it's all part of the same ecosystem by Samsung.
Does anyone out there know of a watch face, Paid or Free, that accurately represents Phone battery strength?
Thanks
John
All in One! by Shuisky works for me with my Pixel 3XL.
Thanks. I have that one, and for some reason, the Phone battery indicator goes away when I install it on my watch. I can see it when I first bring that face up and select it for the watch. But, then after it initializes on my watch, the phone indicator goes away and only shows the watch battery. That's what seems to happen with all the watch faces.

Thanks. I just went through and found a couple of things that needed to be unchecked. I'll see how that runs through now and if it fixes things.
I appreciate the info.
