Does anyone make a watch face that accurately tracks Phone battery strength? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I've had the Galaxy Watch since March and have played around a lot with faces for it that supposedly show both the Watch and the Phone battery strength. I had many of these on my Moto360 Gen2 watch that I replaced with this Galaxy watch. The Moto faces I used would keep updated with battery strength throughout the day. Every watch face I've tried with the Galaxy tells me I've got 100% most of the day. Occasionally it'll update and show where it's gone from 100%, down to something else, ex. 87%, 56%, etc, without showing any other decreases in between those. Some days, I go all day long with the watch showing I'm at 100%, even though the phone is lower.
I have a Galaxy Note8 and decided to go Galaxy Watch, thinking they would actually be more compatible. It seems like I had better interoperability with the Android Watch than I do with this Tizan based watch, even though it's all part of the same ecosystem by Samsung.
Does anyone out there know of a watch face, Paid or Free, that accurately represents Phone battery strength?
Thanks
John

All in One! by Shuisky works for me with my Pixel 3XL.

Thanks. I have that one, and for some reason, the Phone battery indicator goes away when I install it on my watch. I can see it when I first bring that face up and select it for the watch. But, then after it initializes on my watch, the phone indicator goes away and only shows the watch battery. That's what seems to happen with all the watch faces.

I have bought All in One, but the mobile battery indicator stops updating after some 15 minutes, (mobile is the Note 10+)
EDIT: this is the fix https://bit.ly/2kJODkm

Thanks. I just went through and found a couple of things that needed to be unchecked. I'll see how that runs through now and if it fixes things.
I appreciate the info.

Sync with google fit

Curious to see if anyone use the google fit app along with thier watch? I've noticed that the two are no synced (# of steps recorded from Fit greatly differs from watch - which makes sense as my phone is not always on me when I move around).
so how do sync the data from my watch to be shown on the google fit app? or is that only shown on another app (like moto body or something else)?
basically, I want to use the Fit app to record my weight and see the metrics of my steps, heart rate, etc. but I only want the steps to be recorded from the watch.
thanks!
I think you have to bear in mind that fitness-wise any smartwatch (even those with GPS on board) will never be anything more but a compromise for a real fitness watch. It's a nice to have for a smartwatch and maybe data aquisition quality improves in the future but I'm sure this remains playground.
I am seriously pissed with google fit. before i got it, my watch did pretty well taking my steps. now it only takes them when i carry my phone and it resets midday all the time, ex. it said 125 steps at 10 am then 34 at 3 pm. wtf! I like the look and how it keeps records, but im going to delete it soon.

That could be related to how the app syncs with the watch. Check the app settings in android wear.

yeah i did that. i had to switch my heart rate and steps to moto body. moto body told me i took ~2800 steps where google fit said 169 steps for the whole day. 2800 is way closer, still low i feel, but 169 is no where close.
As of now, Google Fit on the phone does not sync to the watch.

right - even though the details on the app on the market says that it does.
Yeah mine is not working too

Not sure about others but since I installed Fit on my phone, my phone battery has taken a hit. I have since disabled it.

Me too. I left a review on the app in the market. If enough people do, then perhaps they'll adjust it.
I don't have an issue with Google Fit.
I occassionally walk around with my phone on my desk, or with my watch charging (and my phone in my pocket).
Initally the steps are out of sync, but once Fit sync's the data, they match up (ie if watch is showing 1500 steps, and phone is showing 400 steps, within 15-20mins of sitting at my desk, I'll check, and my steps have been updated to 1900 in google Fit.
By the end of the day, my Google Fit steps usually matches my Moto Step count.

In the android wear app, what app is synced with steps - moto body steps or google fit?
Google Fit for steps, Moto Heart Rate for heart rate.

I re-enabled activity detection, and my steps began to sync - however, the phone's steps count appear to override the watch's step count. for example, I noticed this morning on my watch that my step count was 147, but the phone read 93. when I pulled down the step count on the phone to force a sync, the watch suddenly read 93. I would like for the watch to override the phone on this statistic, but not sure how.
Well, I installed google fit yesterday and took a long walk today i expect that the data was different in watch and phone but... it sync; the data in watch and phone is the same, the past data was not sync but i don't care.
Due to battery drain problem, I turned off location history , don't know why the Google fit forced to use location history . if you do the location on /off frequently, it will screwed up the syncing, the logic is the phone steps overriding watch , most of the time , I did not bring my phone out while going for a long exercise. It is mad to see my watch's steps of 10000 being reset to the phone value and the wrong recording being pushed to my watch steps history.

This. Happens to me constantly. As a result, I uninstalled Google Fit. Presumably when I update to Lollipop I'll have to disable it. Candidly, it seems like a very minor bit of code to fix the issue but it's not there yet. As a result, I just use Moto Body, though I wish that they had an app to monitor it as well. Incidentally, having removed Google Fit, I can share that my battery life has improved dramatically.

I Really regret buying the moto365 now. I think I am just going to sell this thing when the up3 comes out and wait for a few years before I go back to a smart watch. Google fit is an absolute joke compared to just about any other fitness tracking software you can find. I had a Fitbit Surge for a while and it was extremely accurate but the bands are too small for even an average sized man. So that went back for a refund.
Very disappointed.

[q] *extreme battery drain?*

Peace...
Recently purchased a SS3 Steel from eBay, new out of the box with seal around package. Upon setting it up, I immediately updated it to LolliPop. I synced my apps to my watch (which include the basics like, Wear Launcher, WatchMaker, Facer and etc.). At first I didn,t notice the battery drain, as I was just having fun playing with it. But after a hour or so I was down to 40%--->and I just attributed it to battery having to cycle a couple of times. Here it is day 2 with watch and i have to re-charge it every 4-5 hrs---> this cant be normal.
Is this something to do w/ the recent Android Wear app update? Is there anything I can do to fix this battery drain---or do I have a defective unit?
Suggestions please

Hi, I've had my sm3 about 4 days now and the first couple of days was forever charging the watch. I eventually found the culprit was that I had location switched on in the watch and phone settings. After I disabled it I'm getting easy two days between charges. Location is handy for running or out on the bike but otherwise in day to day use not really needed.

Need help with golfshot gps app

does anyone else have the golf shot GPS app installed on their Sony SmartWatch 3 and if so how do you get it to work as a standalone GPS. I can't for the life of me get it to work. if I click on the app on the watch it just says loading I think and spins and then disappears. I can get it to pop up when I use the app on the phone but all its doing there is just giving me the reading from my phone. I want to be able to use just the watch as the GPS like it says it can be. Any help would be appreciated.
same problem however when I click on the app and after a few seconds of loading I get the message "no round currently being played" and if I scroll to the left I get "open on phone"
Played a round last Sunday.
There’s no way to use it as a stand-alone app. You have to start the round on your phone and then start the app on the watch. The good is that you can leave your phone in the cart as the yardage provided will use the GPS on the watch. Compared to my rangefinder, it was at times about 1-5 yards off, which I can live with. Scores marked on the watch will be reflected on your phone.
As for the battery, that’s another story. The round lasted me 4 hours and the watch completely died on the 16th hold. Having the GPS constantly on definitely does a number on the watch. Kind of sucks, but figure I can have a charger in the bag for a quick charge. All in all, I’m very pleased.
Standalone Golf Shot App
Hi
You may have answered your own question by now but yes I have Golfshot on a SW3 and you can select the course on your phone and once it's loaded to the watch it will stay there as the default course when you launch Golfshot directly on your watch...just close the app on the watch but don't end the round when you've used it.
I also turn on Aeroplane mode so that the Golfshot app, which uses the Google Fused Location Api to find out where it is, falls back to the internal GPS chip... as it uses the phone's GPS by default. That has the added benefit of 1) not draining the watch battery as quickly and 2) reducing on-board noise from WiFi and Bluetooth that impinges on the accuracy of the GPS.
I've found though that the watch running Golfshot stand-alone will only last maybe 14-15 pretty quick holes of a round without draining the battery flat....so I've written my own wear app that runs completely on the watch with it's own database. That has holes positions ,max 8 hazards per hole, shot measure etc and finishes a round easily with ~ 35% of the battery left! That database however extends to exactly two courses at the moment(!) so I'm looking for a way to add a Google Earth 'course mapper' to let users add their own.
The Wear app has been a bit of struggle for someone not used to Java, Android or the SDK ..but interesting..so I will press on and do the course mapper...or source one by some other means.

Hi, see my reply to alnova1 in this thread.
Cheers for sharing AndyMan I wondered how it worked and googling just says it works LOL
I'm using GameGolf on my phone to track my club distances and wanted GOLFSHOT on my watch so its easy to check distances without having my phone in my hand all day (which I did yesterday)
Seriously need something to make me keep my SSW3 don't wear a watch for normal activity in day to day life !

Which course is your 'home' one ..and I'll see if I can add it in to my database and send you a copy of the app.
Appreciated but I sold the watch earlier this week the battery just wasn't up to the job for what I needed

It's a real shame that all the commercial apps I've seen have such awful battery life..probably because they make extensive use of the play services API whereas I use my own optimised routines for many things . My own app has pretty much the same features as the major ones, including up to 8 hazards per hole, plus a compass pointer to the next tee or green centre and I can finish a 4 hour+ competition round with 30% plus battery left!
Still, good luck with whatever route you've gone down now.
Sounds 100% better, I kinda feel the whole watch isn't really overly useful pretty lame apps etc
back to using my nexus 5 gps rangefinder app #GameGolf - NFC tags the next purchase (and probably next to be sold
Hi Andy. Did you ever progress this?
Would be very interested in testing your app Andy!

New to Moto 360 and need help.

Hi guys, so i just got a moto 360 on the 31st of July and till now im disappointed with it.
The thing is after i have read may posts about the battery life the conclusion i get is that i need to give some time to the watch so the battery can "normalize"?. It´s so bad right now, if i leave the watch home without any use i get a 10% drop in about 4 hours, but as soon as i put it on my wrist i can literally see the battery drop % by %.
So should i give the watch a few more days and charges or should i be worried and return it?
Another issue i have it´s with the android wear app. I can't seem to find that gear icon to go to the definitions. I simply can´t access the definitions on the app on my phone.
PS: I've tried some steps to improve battery life but to no success. They included reseting the watch and cleaning cache etc...
Dunno man, I am not crazy about the battery life, but I get through a full day. I don't use the wifi at all on the watch, but I can easily get through the day. I have some unique problems with my work phone, but the device it cool. I can say for the current price point, I'm pretty happy. The gurus here are cool too, so I'm sure someone smarter than I am can pipe in.
Good luck
It took mine about 4 days to settle in. My brother's took a week. Hang in there. My watch has been on my wrist since 6:30 this morning....it's 9:45 and I have 65% left.
The gear is on the top right of the wear app.

The thing is that the process to begin with gave me trouble. I couldn't pair the watch trough android wear properly so i did pair the watch with my phone trough Bluetooth and android wear seamed to work. I could only change faces and such. On the other hand moto connect said my watch was connected.

Should I buy Samasung Galaxy watch?

Hi all,
I have been attracted towards smartwatches since the time they came. However, there are many reasons that I didn't buy any till today, money, technology and android user.
Although, now I am in the position of buying and I am aiming to buy a Samsung Galaxy watch. I have watched many reviews of that watch on youtube from big streamers to small. Also read many threads on the forum about it and it seems that there were issues with the initial firmware but after updates they were solved.
I am looking to buy the BT 46mm version.
Since this is my first SW and it costs a kidney (also I am a student), I had some concerns with it.
1. Does the battery stays for at least 3days (AOD off, BT and WiFi on)?
2. Can I install third party apps on it (getting apks from google wear store and installing on the phone)?
3. Connection with non-Samsung phones (I have OnePlus 5).
Thank you very much.
Have a great day.
This watch is not powered by Android Wear so I highly doubt that you will be able to get apk to install and run. I don't even know if there is a way to sideload apk onto the phone. Getting the watch to pair to your OnePlus should not be a problem. I am still thinking of buying this watch but the lack of available apps is definitely a turn off for me too. I am coming from a Moto 360.
1. Does the battery stays for at least 3days (AOD off, BT and WiFi on)?
Yes. Even more if you do not start training apps. They drain battery like hell
2. Can I install third party apps on it (getting apks from google wear store and installing on the phone)?
No. Watch is on Tizen system
3. Connection with non-Samsung phones (I have OnePlus 5).
This should not be a problem. The original watch mail app will not work for you - it works only with Samsung phones. You can act with mail notifications though.
Take in mind that as I heard Oneplus has some problems with BT connection - but I am not shure about that

Thank you very much the answers it will surely help me in deciding.
I have been a watch collector of high end mechanical watches all my life, and I was always laughing at people with black screen watches on their wrists, until my best friend bought one and started to explain me what he can do with the watch. I bought my Samsung Galaxy watch 4 LTE about 2 weeks ago and I think I only removed it from my wrist to charge it. It is unbelievable how much I became addicted to the practicality of the watch. I am looking at the screen hundreds of times a day, using navigation, reading texts, emails, setting timers, using fitness apps etc. I consider myself a power user, and lowest battery I reached was 26% by the end of the work day. ( watch is on my wrist usually from 8 am to 9 pm ) On weekends, with lighter use I get around 65% by the end of the day. So I still have to charge it every night, but that does not bother me. Included Samsung wireless charger charges them very quickly, I can't tell exactly, but it is fast ( maybe under 1.5 hr? ) My brightness is always set to full 10. ( there is levels from 1 to 10 ) It is true, fitness apps take most of the battery power, and Navigation is power drain, because I keep the screen ON all the time for directions (you can keep it black while driving and it can be turned ON only before the turns )
I would also love to have more apps available, especially apps from Nest and Ring, because I am checking that frequently. The phone my watch is paired to is Note 9. I do recommend, if you can afford it, to buy the LTE version.
dont get one if you are planning to use the HR monitor, it is still useless after 2 updates.
