I assure you, this is 5.1.0. It is not a modified factory image. Its AOSP compiled from source.

That miscellaneous category is in my battery stats again. Anyone else have it too? Doesn't seem to be draining battery, so I don't know what to make of it.

Previous build had an option in dev settings that was added to remove unaccounted and overcounted stats from showing up. For some reason google only chooses to apply the changes to release builds. I removed that code to get a look at it, but you're right it is still there. I have re-committed the changes and have builds uploading in a bit.

Are you going to build again when the n7 2013 factory image is posted by google - or is there no point (I guess the real question is will there be specific changes for our device when the image is officially out?)
I'm trying to decided to flash now or wait... ☺

just a simple question: whenever u update this ROM, is it necessary/recommended to wipe the device again? or is the first wipe good enough?
and if its necessary, will the backup of all apps and system settings affect the performance after updating?

I'm not sure. I don't have non google contacts. Those should be stored in your data partition. Unless you're doing a wipe they should remain...

I noticed you mentioned using backup apps with a clean install negates the wiping done. Is the same true for ADB and TWRP backups too?

If u download zoom camera and open it, close it, restart the phone, cm camera starts to work. After you the boost apn fix you have open apns and press lte for it to start to work.
Does anyone have working lte on ting?
Hoping to see the wifi/miscellaneous battery drain fix in upcoming builds. So far getting pretty bad drain if I leave WiFi on when not near any connection. Luckily I have the ZeroLemon battery so it still lasts all day.

MD4?
Can anyone confirm whether this build will work on MD4? I've flashed several times and tried a few different APN zips, but I can't seem to get cell service no matter what I do. I'm assuming maybe it won't work with my baseband, but I'm hoping that's not the case.
Virginization!
A note to all the Virgin Mobile SG3 users, if you want LTE service, you'll have to change the APNs. I used a flashable APN for basically any Virgin Mobile phone, the issue is that some of the scripts don't play nice with Lollipop, what you'll have to do is extract the APN file from the zip and replace the APN file on your phone with it (in the etc directory, I used root browser to do this) and then delete the files telephony.db and telephony.db-journal located in data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases After that, you should have LTE
"No SIM Card - Sprint"
I just installed the newest build, but I'm still getting the "No SIM Card" notification. The mobile data icon shows "Sprint" (sometimes), but I can neither make calls nor send/receive SMS. Has anyone else experienced this and/or found a fix?
Edit: I'm also still completely without APNs despite repeated attempts to flash and input manually ("APN settings are not available for this user).

Nah, CM is the only hope to get the camera fixed. We'll have to wait for changes in upcoming builds for that. On the other hand the kernel is solid it comes sweep2wake sweep2sleep doubletap2wake as well as overclock undervolt GPU & CPU control and much more. I've had much better battery life with it also. Its much better than stock.

Charging notification on home screen?
It's not a big deal at all, love the rom, but just today I noticed after I took it off the charger the lock screen still says charging. I don't know if it's just me but I figured I'd mention it.
When I use "quick reply" to respond to a text from the stock texting app, it'll reply fine but it leaves the message that I replied to as unread.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Just got a call then my gf texted me saying she got a call from the same number and they left her a voicemail so I logged into my voicemail and even though I didn't have a voicemail notification, they did leave me a message.

I know there are lots of other things to work on, but is there any way we can get dotted circle battery or other custom battery icons. Would LOVE it. Hell I'm no sure if CM has this. Also so far so good on the "always on" behavior. Seems to be working as it should! Kudos keep up the good work. Love this rom!

rooting and flashing custom roms is a serious business. When a step is listed it makes no sense to skip. Do you have a recovery loaded and functional? If you do, download a flashable superuser zip and flash in recovery. If not, better sharpen your search skills and find how to proceed.
again, devs list steps for a reason
Google account?
Hey, I'm new around here although not new to rooting phones, and flashing Rom's. However when it came to flashing a CM mod or a euphoria mod, I had no idea as to how to sign in with my Google account to get my contacts and everything into my phone. Must I have GApps downloaded? If so, how do I flash it? Just do a dirty flash? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Really really love the euphoria mod for the g3 but I MUST be able to sign into Google.

baked-in density change issue
Hello graig79,
First all thank you for such a great rom.
Small issue i noticed seems baked-in density changer no longer works. It certainly worked on your previous version. I noticed if you set the number then leave the settings menu altogether and come back it doesn't even same what number you set to.
Not sure If this is due to a custom change you applied or a change from cm.
Thought i mention it.
Thanks again.
Downloads?
Loving the ROM! However ive encountered something that might just be a problem on my side but whenever i try to download something from the internet browser, it tells me that it cannot be downloaded. The directory it tries to save files too i believe it doesnt exist. Is there a way i can change where files are being saved? Thanks again.

Little things
This rom is coming along nicely. Can the latest SuperSU be included so it doesnt have to update each time we upgrade the rom to the newest version? Not really a biggy at all. The biggest gripe i have is the rom can eat throught its battery fast.
Also FYI everyone else don't forget about using something like faster fix to change the GPS search zone to your correct one! It helps getting locks quicker.

Yes:highfive: 6 posts since 2010.
Call Log function is also not working, how about you?
Well nothing worked while on that TWRP it also didn't matter which backup I went to either. So I restored to TWRP 2.8.1.0 and then restored my 4.4.2 TW rom. Feels like my battery lasts forever now. Esp with the agni kernel. For now I'll stay on that rom but I will be returning to this when its a bit more mature. Our note 2's still have so much to give, Samsung should at least release the source code/ drivers needed to make our own roms.
Bootloop problem
So I've discovered this ROM, pretty solid reviews. :good:
However, I'm facing a bootloop issue. Followed the instructions carefully, using Clockwork Recovery 6.0.4.1.
Facing a bootloop after installing both ROM and gapps. Screen is just stuck on the four balls floating around, which is the boot animation.
Coming from stock ROM, have not installed any kernels before. :fingers-crossed:
Could you please provide some help?
I've been running this ROM for a few days now with agni kernel. Awesome.
Ringtone and other tonrs seem to reset to default regularly. Other than editing build prop is there a permanent solution either ready or in the pipeline.
Its no biggy but looking round to see who's phones ringing to be told its your own isn't a good look.

Can you get a logcat of it bootlooping? I just dirty flashed from cm11 to cm12 (on the latest nightly) and had no issues. Before I bumped it to official I checked for any issues with clean or dirty upgrades. If you can grab a logcat it'd be most helpful to see where its getting stuck.

Sprint VVM and CM12
Anyone else use Sprint's Visual Voicemail. I had it on the stock ROM and like it. However, on my first install of CM12 on my LS980, I noticed the voicemail message audio was horribly distorted.

Viber and voicemail both are distorted, tab to sleep is not working, crashes in settings, nfc not working as well, loads of crazy bugs

What's the reason for modems after zv8 not working? In my area Spark is widespread and even fills in some areas band 25 lte isn't present, so I'd prefer to be able to use a modem that supports it.
I just received a used Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (SM-T320) - and discovered (not known to me before purchase) it is Rooted.
When I went to do an Update via standard Settings>about Device - it refused returning tablet modified.
also it had the App SuperSU (free) installed) which asked about permission on a couple of Apps I used.
I have absolutely no experience of Rooted tablets,
and currently have no idea how the tablet was rooted, and what with.
So I am seeking your patience and some advice about this, please.
Is there a way to return to the Stock installation?
If so, how to I check that this is possible?
Or should I keep the Root?
If so, how do I update the tablet?
eg: how do I check what, or if any, custom ROM has been installed?
or
which custom ROM do people advise I install?
Thanks for any advice.
Vincent
Just back up your valuable data and storage contents and flash stock via Odin. And I believe at this time point the updates are not of much importance, so if you're on KitKat you might as well ignore that if you can't spare time for backups.

Either leave it rooted as is - since it really is just KitKat 4.4.2 - but with more ability.
Or later when the spirit moves perhaps upgrade via a custom rom.
Thank you.

@vincent. I have the same tablet as you and I prefer to run the latest OS which is Marshmallow. As you state you are already rooted so you might as well try out a custom ROM. I recommend Resurrection Remix ROM by Vasumit and the XDA thread can be found here. Latest update to ROM is here. You will also need to install gapps. I recommend Banks Dynamic Gapps 6.X.X found here. Give it a try, I'm sure you will like it. ROM is buttery smooth and Vasumit updates it often. :good::good:

Thank you so much for your encouragement and suggestion.
Even though I have used Android on tablets and phones for years -
I am still a n00b when it comes to Root and Custom ROMs
I have heard of the more famous ROMs like CyanogenMod etc -
what makes Resurrection Remix ROM by Vasumit better than CyanogenMod
in terms of features and/or support please?
How easy (or not) are custom ROMs to undo?
Many thanks,

Personal opinion below: most AOSP-based ROMs have equal or slightly better support than CM because the team behind them is much smaller, but they might die out one day because of the same reason. CM maintains a huge number of devices and is the basis of many, so it's not likely to disappear soon. Also, CM is usually among the quickest to get to a new Android version while others usually sync from CM and start from there.
As of features, others are guaranteed to have more than CM. CM doesn't like adding features these days.

Do: Flash TWRP, make a full backup of your stock ROM, full wipe and flash the new one.
Undo: Full wipe and restore the old backup, or if you decide you don't want your data, use Odin.

Thank you very much for the very helpful reply -
this was about as good as I was hoping for -
really appreciate all the help I am getting here, thank you.
It will take a bit of time for me to get my head around the information - as it is all new to me -
and I want to proceed with care/caution so I don't end up bricking my tablet.
Gratefully and thanks,

Hey!
you could look at it this way, most of the people here have a hard time just ulocking the device and rooting it, not that yours is already done, might as well right. along with the proper research, your device could be one hundred times better, the stock OS of the tablet isn't that good (lets face it.) and with the current technology, it will have a hard time keeping up because the OS for this device is not that efficient (personal opinion). Anyways, it's still up to you to do it or not. Cyanogenmod has released the nightly version of Marshmallow 6.0 for this device. maybe you could check it out!! ^_^

Yes, thanks for the encouragement.
Seems ironic that I had done lots of look-sees (not quite research, but close) about rooting devices - and I actually now have one
(it was just unexpected on this Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (SM-T320)).
As you see I've decided to keep it rooted and am actively looking at which ROM to flash -
currently I am leaning toward the more conservative approach of doing the CM (CyanogenMod)
and rather than deciding between the snapshot CM-12.1 or the nightly CM-13.0....
perhaps I should just wait for a snapshot CM-13.0
(" and we’ll have a quality approved SNAPSHOT for CM13 sometime Jan." of course it is now Feb - so maybe soon?)
Thanks,

Don't wait for snapshots - they are just forked from nightlies at a certain timepoint and aren't more stable than nightlies. Just backup and flash a nightly, and if anything you feel unstable, restore the backup and/or wait for that to get resolved. I personally don't see anything disturbing aside from wonky external SD support (which is a universal bug across all 6.0+ ROMs).
P.S. The "Thanks" button is there - use it

Thanks again, and thanks for pointing out the ext SD card issue with 6.0+ ROMs
Does this work?
How to Use SD Card as Internal Storage on Marshmallow ...
Thanks.

The issue is mainly with how to use SD card as external storage (as on older Android versions), not with the new "adoptable storage" feature. That we don't have a definitive solution yet.
You might want to read through the last pages of the CM13 discussion thread in Development subforum if you're determined to get it working.
