TAB S 8.4" Very Very Weird Problem need help - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my TAB S is a few months old like 3 months now
I only installed few top rated APPS and everything is working fine, i use it to facebook and youtube and reading and some emails, i rarely game on it
2 days ago something very weird started to happen when battery reached 30% the device slowed down and froze up and rebooted on it's own, when it boots up , it forgets the wifi password, and the battery is like 15%
freezes up again after 30 seconds of using , and again reboots, forgets wifi password, battery level is 10% , a minute later same thing battery like 4% HOWEVER
IF I TURN IT OFF ,AND PLUGGED IN THE CHARGER IT SAYS 29% AND CHARGING.... so the battery level from within the OS is not true and it freezes and reboots and upon that forgets the password of the wifi
I DID NOT ROOT IT , I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF IT
now i tried draining the battery all the to 1% and 0% then full charge , and it wroks untill it reaches 30% - 25% then problem all over
if i plug it in the charger and use it , it seems fine
what could be the problem and do i have to factory reset?

[Q] Stock Battery Usage app not showing drain..

Searched for this and didn't find it in the forum. My phone is not rooted.
I've had this phone maybe a week after launch and this issue has just started happening in the last 4 days or so. It typically seems to happen after charging and unplugging the phone. The stock battery usage app, Settings--> Applications--> Battery usage, shows no battery drain at all while showing the phone as Awake the whole time and Screen on the whole time.
The reality is that the phone was just sitting on the kitchen counter with the screen off and I hadn't touched it the entire time. Rebooting only sometimes seems to make it snap back to reality, there are times when I'll reboot or pull the battery and nothing happens, it just continues to give a false readings.
Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?

[solved] huge battery drain

Weird thing happened to me since saturday. Without any change of usage, my battery drains terribly fast. I didn't install any new apps or changed system settings. Today, i just listened to music via Bluetooth for about 30 minutes and battery went straight to 80%. There aren't any other noticeable wakelocks, so i'm running out of ideas what causes this drain.
Ideas, anyone?
(for the last screenshot, i set a custom reference and left the phone completely off for about 30 minutes. 5% battery drain without doing a single thing seems way to much for me)
Update: seems like the sd-card caused the issue. I removed it for about 10 minutes and re-inserted it while the device was running. Removing the SD, powering down the phone and inserting it again _before_ the phone starts seemed to help. At least i'm back at 1,4% per hour now.

[Q] Unexpected shutdown when battery is low

Recently my N7(2013) will shut itself down when the battery is low (about 10%) without any warnings, not even the "Shutting Down" dialog that it should show whenever it shuts downs (except for the usual low batt warning when it reaches 15%). After the shutdown, I cant even turn it back on not even the screen, nor the low batt (waiting for charger) screen is showing up until I plug it into a power source the it will show the charging screen and then I can turn it on again.
Its been a few times now, not sure its a hardware or software problem though. It shouldnt shut down when it still has 10% in it right?
Attached is the screenshot of the Battery Usage that shows the battery level shots down to 0% immediately from 10%.

Are you using a battery monitoring program (battery doctor, better battery stats, etc)? If so, look in their settings, to see if they are set to shut down @ 10%...

Nah I don't trust these apps so I don't use them. Moreover I'm did not root it so even if I use them they shouldnt have the permission to shut it down
Simple fix
It is an issue I have suffered with a couple of times and it appears we are not alone. It seems that the battery calibration is out of whack. When you charge your nexus up does it stay at 100% for quite a while? I
tried factory data resets amongst other things and nothing worked. I stumbled across a thread with a really simple fix. Turn your tablet off for 2 hours. Then turn it on again. Mine miraculously lost 26% of battery in that time (from 100% where it had been for 8 hours down to 74%). Then it started to use the battery at a normal rate. Working fine now.

i wouldn't recommend to try modifieng the phone cause the battery can be faulty if it's really new and you'd just loose your warranty. so just maybe give it back to service. my charger was also demaged from the beginning.
i remember something specific case in both times it shut off, well when i charged and then turned on google playstore and alotta other bunch of samsung apps updated and this time too after turning on it had update for hangouts and instagram, so is it notification and update related ?

well, updates use more battery but the battery should withstand it to some degree. like i said it could be maybe the battery or system bug. but i assume it's the battery
Hmmm....i doubted the same too.. btw is it cause of NFC in my battery ? but you gotta understand its a brand new phone
Try Battery Life Repair from playstore to check your battery

Phone turns off when unplugged from charger.

After charging phone to 100 it will only work for short time and then it will randomly shuts down (usually the moment u use it, like unlocking the screen or getting a call). And then it wont turn on until u start charging. Sometimes when u plug it back in battery is at ~90%, sometimes it goes back to 0. I was thinking it was battery's fault but almost every time this happens my phone does some kind of soft reset, sometimes my themes reset back to stock, sometimes my saved wifi dissapear, notification settings reset, etc. Phone has the screen replaced a year ago too if that could add to it.
You can try to revert it to stock, but most probably is a battery problem.
I've been using my phone for 3 years already and a half year ago I noticed that id didn't hold a charge when the battery went below 30 % . it randomly shut down below 30 % epsecially when I tried to take photos or use flash (that require high Amperage) . Sometimes it restarted itself after unexpected shut down and as I noticed dalvik cache was formatted/deleted. so I had to login to my google account set themes and etc. after I upgradet to 7.0 every unexpected shut down began to worry me becaouse even app data began to dissapear. So a week ago I ordered a new battery and now I am relieved . in my opinion it's 100% battery problem .
Definitely a dead battery. 3 years is a long time for these batteries. You did well to get that long from it!.
Thank you for this thread. I was starting to go loopy because I thought it may have been some app. Same issue and I need to find a battery guy.
