Hello, i have flashed AOKP ROM to my Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195. There is missing music player. My favourite music player was in official samsung rom but i don't know how to install samsung's music player as a system app. Root Explorer can't move MusicPlayerWT.apk to system/app (even with root) so I don't know what to do. Someone knows how could i install it? Btw installation as normal app fails.
Isn't that player needs tw framework?
I'm afraid he's right. Stock music player wont open on different rom than stock. But if I'm wrong first if You're rooted install BusyBox and then mount system as rw (or use Solid Explorer it makes it automatically), copy apk to system/app, set permissions as rest system apps (just check any system app permissions cause I don't remember now which exactly it should be) and reboot system.
Unfortunately, after moving music player to system/app and setting permissions as rest system apps and rebooting, It doesn't show in app list.
Do You have odexed/deodexed rom?? If You have odexed You need to move also odex file but if deodexed You must deodex apk file but still it's small chance it gonna work on non tw rom.
I probably have deodexed rom because i don't see any .odex files in system/app. How to deodex it (if it even would have work)? Or is it possible to install TW framework on AOKP rom (idk is It silly idea i got)?

I did try the mod above and lost my stock Music player. I did rename it back by deleting .bak from the name but the stock icon is gone. Can somebody help get back my stock Music player. I have CM7 Music player now. Help me get rid of that. Thanks.
having a problem with the stock player too, i'm not able to install the stock player and i dont know how to reinstall it with the musicplayer.apk and cant find the original music.apk
Here comes the stock musicplayer from XWKE7. Your phone have to be rootet.
Extract the ZIP-File and copy the musicplayer.apk and musicplayer.odex in system/app (use Root Explorer or Super Manager - overwrite existing files).
Set attributes of musicplayer.odex to rw-r-r--.
Reboot your Phone - now it should work.
thanks, worked perfect
i have system dump file of SG S Plus music player but i cannot seem to install it on defy with Defy + Gingerbread Rom.CAn Anyone try to install or is there any method to install??? i really like the looks nd cover flow of samsung player .i have attached the music.apk file maybe anyone can try get it install
I also had a problem, when I tried to install the Atrix music player. The solution was to copy it to system/app folder (with root explorer or a similar app), change permissions and reboot phone. (Thanks to spear1403 for that advice.)

As the title says, im trying to look for a stock sammy clock 1.0 (alarm/clock in one) for 4.0.4 AOKP based roms. Been searching forums, only found one for nexus but it wont work for i9100. Does anyone have the zip/apk for it that works? If not, is it possible to port to AOKP? If not, is there an equivelant app in the store that does the same features as the sammy original?
Hello!
I'm also looking for the clock and fmradio applications from stock samsung roms.
I've been trying to extract and install fmradio - I've done the following:
Unzipped an official LP7 rom,
Converted the factoryfs.img to ext4 with sgs2toext4.jar
Mounted factoryfs.ext4.img with DiskInternals Linux Reader
Extracted FmRadio.apk and FmRadio.odex
Edited the FmRadio.odex with HEX editor (As shown here)
Renamed the edited FmRadio.odex to classes.dex and pushed that into the root of the FmRadio.apk (Means that I have a deodexed FmRadio apk)
But after these steps FmRadio.apk still failed to install on Hydrog3n ics 4.0.4 (aokp milestone 5)
I would be glad, if someone would say, that is it possible to use stock samsung apps on aokp, and if yes, what is the "method".
Look at this thread
Here is a possible solution, check it out

The apk will never install, it will need to be pushed as it is a system app. And/or use a root browser/explorer and place in system/app then reset the permissions to match the app above it, set back to read-only -> reboot recovery -> clear dalvik -> reset permissions (do it anyway) and then boot. Ensure you are running a FMradio equiped kernel or else it won't work anyway.
PS: You can run the Gingerbread apk if you like, I tested a SGS1 gingerbread FMradio apk from JVS and it works perfectly fine and even looks the same as the ICS one....yell out if you get stuck and I will upload it.
PPS: You will also need the fmradio.so to push into /system/lib or else it won't work.

Thanks for the instructions! What should I do with a freshly extracted stock GB FmRadio.apk (do i need to decompile it, remove dependencies, copy resources, remove tw references, recompile, test, etc) Or exracting and deodexing then pushing is enough?
Also I think, that when I extract the fmradio.apk from JVS rom, then only pushing (with the .so) is needed. Is this correct?

I've placed my FmRadio.apk (extracted from a stock deodexed ics) to system/app and placed libfmradio_jni.so to system/lib. (With ES file explorer) then restored the read only permissions, then reboot recovery, wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions. After reboot (and some app optimizations) the radio did not show up : (
By the way spriritFm works, so I think my kernel is capable.
(Should I try with a GB stock deodexed apk?)

No the kernel needs to support bcm4329.ko, if it doesn't then don't bother...trust me I have had a heap of SGS1 users try and they all get the same thing as you.
I would also check to see if you can get the app working touchwized first before you go to the efforts of de-touchwizing the app.
What I mean by this is including the twframework.apk and twframework.jar in the directiory /system/framework
Try this first, use a deodexed ICS FMradio apk and if the app works with a supported kernel.....THEN think about de-touchwizing it
Sorry to go off topic.

Thanks for the answer, I've placed the FmRadio.apk, libfmradio.so, twframework-res.apk and twframework.jar files to their appropriate folders in the system folder. I've set their permissions to rw-r--r--, then rebooted, entered recovery, wipe dalvik, fix permissions. -> After all these steps; Should I install the apk, or the radio is supposed to be in my app drawer? (And if the radio is not in the application list, this means, that my kernel does not support the mentioned .ko?)
is it possible that you update these files for me?
and by placing twframework files into their right places, the phone should be able to get sammy apps functioning with an aokp rom on?!
i installed ICS ROM v1 to my Samsung Galaxy Y

ahh,next to ics rom.
Problem 1:
Some users find that the Swype is force closing, and the absence of gallery and music in App drawer.
If you face this problem, here is what you can do:
1. Using root explorer, delete Swype.apk from System/app (or) uninstall swype using link2sd.
2. Try looking for play music and gallery ics apk in system /app. If present MOVE them to SD card using root explorer. Tap rw at the top to move.
3. Reboot.
4. Install the following attached apk's in the post: SwypeICS.apk, and GalleryICS.apk, Google play music. apk or from the apks which you just moved to your SD card. For better performance of play music, again move the apk to System /app...and set permissions to rwrr. (Tick the first two boxes in the first row and the 1st box in the other two rows) and reboot.
5.Enjoy.
Problem 2:
ICS Gallery is not working on my phone.
Solution:Have you done it properly? Try again. I've fixed the link. Still if it doesn't work, I'm afraid you will have to install the old Gingerbread Gallery. Copy and paste gallery3D.apk from attachments into System/app using root explorer, set permissions to rwrr and reboot.
Problem 3:
Status Bar does not appear.
Solution: Re Install the ROM from beginning. It happened because the flashing was not done properly.

I don't think that will work. You need the apps from a Google stock image, with the associated odex files if you deleted those too.
Extract these file you miss from ROM zip file /system /app folder.
Use something like Root Explorer copy them to /system /app.
Most importantly, set permissions, I don't which was exact, but I always set to 777.
And reboot, you will see
