Change the boot.img to original in the custom rom, then try it
WARNING: I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OF ANY FAULT THAT MAY OCCUR TO YOUR DEVICE. YOU`RE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Okay so after you`ve accepted taking the risk, let`s start...
So,i was spending alot of time trying to make The "OEMINFO-Hack-Tool-v1" to work, I discovered a Simple And way safer procedure...
MAKE SURE YOUR DEVICE IS ROOTED!( Or it won`t work )
1. Download The App ( 5iromtoolbox ) in the attachment & install it in your rooted device...
NOTE: I recommend The "Kingo App" for rooting, its way quick and simple...
2. Click on IMEI backup...
3. After Its completion, connect your phone in MTP ( Media Transfer ) mode, browse to SDCARD
4. Copy the whole folder somewhere in your PC ( Backups are Always Important )...
5. Now, browse to SDCARD/5irom/imeibackup/ and click copy on the file "5.img"
6. Back to SDCARD ( root ), Create a folder named "OEMINFO-BACKUP" & paste "5.img" file in there...
7. Open Up "OEMINFO-Hack-Tool" folder & run "2-oeminfo-hack-windows"...( This time it should Be successful, if u had troubles...)
NOTE: If it says "ADB/Shell denied superuser access", Change your superuser App to SuperSU...
8. After completion, Copy the "Dload" folder of your firmware to the SDCARD & and Turn off your device...
9. Hold "Volume up + Volume Down", then hold the power button ( The Firmware Update process Will start )...
10. After Completion the device will Boot up, But!, Unrooted... ( If your dial *#06# you`ll notice a Blank IMEI )
11. To fix that, Root the Device ( Kingo App recommended) & install the "5iromtoolbox" app again...
12. Go to your "file manager" app and Copy the "5irom" folder to the "internal storage"...
13. Launch "5iromtoolbox" and restore your IMEI...
14. After Completion, RESTART! the device, ( It will do a Hard Reset )
15. After Reboot, Dial *#06#, this time the IMEI would be back to Original....
AND THATS ALMOST IT!
HIT THANKS IF THIS HELPED YOU.

Hi there, let's go step by step without "shortcuts" that are typically working on PC/WIn.
1. Unlock bootloader of your phone at HTCdev[dot]com [replace 'dot' with . - sorry for confusion I haven't earned reputation to post external links yet]. All necessary tools (fastboot) will be provided to download during process as well as necessary instructions. You need Windows/Linux or OS X computer to complete this step.
2. Download custom recovery .img file and save it to same directory you have fastboot files (e.g. from step 1) on you computer
3. Start phone in fastboot mode (mind fast boot option in Power settings must be unchecked if you using VolDown [-] start option (not necessary if you use adb reboot bootloader). Battery must be charged over 10% (I suggest 30% to stay secure); connect to computer (phone shall display Fastboot USB)
4. Navigate command/terminal window on your computer to location of recovery image file from step 2 (fastboot files must be there or have a correct path specified).
5. On computer terminal window run command: fastboot flash recovery filename_of_recovery.img . Red section must be exact custom recovery file name.
6. You'll get some communication in terminal. If completed OK will be among them, if failure, there will be FAIL with description of reason (e.g. low_power). If only "waitng for device" dislays, check connection with phone.
7. Navigate phone to HBOOT, then select recovery. If recovery don't start, check step 1 and restart from step 3. If only icon with red ! appears, it means you have stock recovery installed. Please verify from step 1.
8. Once custom recovery is installed and working, use it to flash SuperSU or any other superuser app (must be flashable .zip to be applied). Install just 1 root application, to avoid problems. At this point, you may consider flashing busybox also if you plan extensive file modification, but it's not necessary for root. For any sake, clear cache befor restart.
9. Restart the phone - you shall view SuperSU application or any other superuses app you've flashed i step 8.
Hope now works.

Thanks for your answer, I have to say I properly unlocked the phone so I do not think there is a way I messed up with this step as when I start bootloader it clearly shows on the top of the screen ''UNLOCKED".
When I flashed recovery on my phone I had no errors prompted or any message of failure. The process went well until a success notification.
Now when I start my phone into bootloader I repeat, I clearly see that recovery has been installed but when I attempt to start it then I'll be almost instantly brought back to the bootloader screen... now I started to wonder if... if an update of android could cause this kind of issue? The point is my phone is using android 4.4.4 and not the factory version 4.4.2. I remember having updated my android version which was perhaps a mistake as this phone is not very old and I was planning to root it in the next days... Now I'm not expert just try to figure it out.
I tried different system to auto root via different apps, some using the PC some using directly the phone, I never get any success...

Ok, please try twrp from Original Android Development tread (it works for me, mind, I'd question it's stability) or Philz recovery (sorry, I found only Chinese, but it's for verivication only: h...ps://drive.google.com/file/d/0BygOvRquk4z8S05kRC1XMXdSbXM/view?usp=sharing - please adjust tt in address - rookie rules).
I'd suggest test running from Fastboot: fastboot boot custom_recovery.img - replace with actual file name from directory you're running terminal.
This shall verify if it's problem with recovery file or any remaining protection...

Does having S-ON bother? I was also wondering about that but all tutorials I found no one mentions anything about the S-ON or S-OFF thing.
But I do have a S-ON under UNLOCKED
what is stock recovery.img name
i dont know what is the real stock recovery.img name.
htc desire 820q dualsim
I can't root my htc desire 820q by this method, is any alternative way?
I just root my phone with same procedure but my phone still show s-on..... How can i s-off my phone.....
First of all SORRY for my english , and hope you people undestand somthing .
Hello all , i just brick my device using advanced power menu .
Things was like this :
Room : borets ...custom-stok 184 room with flare x kenel ;
1 fooling arrownd with xposed modules , kenel auditor , frezeng some stock aps .. nothig happends.. even efter reboot 3 -4 time
2 Instalind APM module .. activate advanced power menu , activate passoword on power menu ... = Fu cke d up...
Frome now phone screen is turned off, like forever , and reboot randomly , sometimes appees only boot screen logo , somtimes boot for a while ,
BUT never boot when i press the power button .
3 I disassembly the phone , til i reach the battery cable .. I disconect the battery ... and i try to discharge the capacitors by touching the motherboard with a plate of copper . But still nothing , after putting the batery back phone vibrate for a second and nothing ...
4 > (BACK ALIVE !! ) I just turn on asus flash tool , connect the phone , charging apper ( battery is full ) then the screen goes black , led blinker also is turn off.. and after that i disconnect and conect again until the phone is start booting .. and finaly is turning on .. the software is working ...almost normaly ... and sometimes appers only the lockscreen for one second and after is ded again sometime room work only a minute ..and sometimes is fully working .. Somehow i delete the APM module , soft reboot worcks , reboot to bootloader (from rom tool box ) works , but i can't flash raw firmware , it's say update falied .. and reboot to recovery dosen't worck at all , or is appering only for one second.
5 After , pug and unpug the battery and go on after 10 minutes of trying ... i have a semi functional phone , terminal emulator worcks , root is present ...but if i let the phone to go into sleep .. sometimes is never turn on again..or is just die.
So i can flash in the room ifwi ,dnx and droidboot , or replace some files with root explorer ...to worck again ... or What to do ?
I can't follow unbrick tutorial because the 191 drivers dosent work in my windows 10 ....
Flash xposed disabler or something like this than wipe cash and dalvik and reboot. If it shows android is upgrading wait and all must be cool.
I can't go in recovery ..
New status , i aplied files from unbrick tutorial , but i don't know if i doit right , the process is completed is rebooting to OS, is rebooting in os, but the xftsk still shows wating for divice til device was not found . bootloader worck's , somehow , i can navigate in it with volume buttons but i cant press anything with power button ,
i flash a raw firmware with asus flash tool , but stil reboots somtimes , and power button dosent work in room wehen i pres power button , the device is briking again and dosent boot or reboot randomly .
Adb works , but by tiping adb reboot recovey , is not booting in recovery ...
I thing i mesed up some things in power menu files , (a few times by simply navigate in root folder i saw some folder and file about power menu ) .
now i have flashed borets24 sistem raw firmware ... but same problem , if i press power button is ding , and only way to boot back is by puting the charger in and pres power..
Is possible to delete / re-rwite the hole root folder ? By adb or fastboot ?
So if you can access bootloader flash latest .184 boot.img, recovery.img, droidboot.img and then sideload the full rom

Can you put a link with img files ?
I flashed a full room with flash tool but , still same problem , power button dosent work , and when i try to use it , is bricking the room .
Just google it man. This i found in the first googling http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2015/12/how-to-downgrade-asus-zenfone-2-firmware.html . You can do these steps and than upgrade to latest lollipop or M if you like. Be careful with fastboot flashing though cause many people mistyped the droidboot and hard bricked their devices
hello, i have the same problem with my LG D605.
i cant turn it on. it doesnt even react to charger. the only thing i managed to do is turn it on in download mode and start flashing stock rom... but it turns off in random times when i trying to flash.
did u managed to fully unbrick yours? and how?
..or maybe this turn offs is just low battery thing (?)
as you stated you tried to flash raw.. so you don't need any other files. just extract the raw firmware with winrar. you will get desired files. if asus flash tool not able to flash raw. use fastboot commands to flash firmware.. follow the guide how to flash via commands in the following thread

Thanks for the great how-to. I'm looking at buying an A30s, but rooting and retaining encryption on the data partition is key for me. I gather that step 6 above will format the data partition, leaving it unencrypted (which is why you get more than the 16 gb if you wipe it - correct?) Will this method allow me to re-encrypt the phone after rooting?
Also, would you mind clarifying about losing root if not using Magisk to reboot - does that include powering off as well?

Yes, if you wipe data from recovery mode it will give you your phone's storage. You will lose warranty, Samsung pay, knox, secure folder, etc.. you can't get it back also if you unroot the device or re-flash the frimware. And power off will also unroot the device. For that you can reset the phone from Settings it will not format your phone. And rooting the phone or using custom frimware will give you less security so high changes of hacking.
Thanks! I ended up getting an A7 instead of A30s, but it's good to know. I try to only buy rootable phones, and I know that some phones can be rooted and still encrypted, like the S7, hence the question.
