Can anyone help me. I am trying to assign specific message ringtones to different people in my contacts, however I can't seem to get it to work. It will only play the default message ringtone and not the one I assigned in the contact information. Is this a bug that can't be fixed or is there a way to get this to work? I contacted Samsung support techs and they said it's a Verizon problem not a Samsung one.
Any help with this I would really appreciate it.
If you are using the Samsung Message App, you can set the message tones when you edit the contact>Add another field>Scroll down to message tone.
If you are using the Verizon Message app. Select a conversation>swipe left to right>scroll down to tones.

After I upgraded to WM6, I lost the "default" text message alert tone. I dont know if you guys know which one Im talking about, but I'd really like to get it back!
If anybody still has it, could they email me the file? or tell me where I can download it back.
The alert tones that come with WM6 suck and I don't know where to download text message alert tones..
Thanks!
Hi Chrissystar.
I dont know what "default" alert tone you were using but most of them are stored on " My windows Mobile" in the windows folder.
But you can use any small .wav file as your tone I was using Rom 4. something and could play the catchphrase. But I know have upgraded to 6.1 and cant play it anymore. I keep getting Memory to low to play. so looking for a new one.
If you have any Music on your phone just highlight it with your pen and within the menu that pops up it asks if you want to use the file as your ringtone.
any way if I find some decent text tones I will post a link to you. OK
Running AT&T Stock ROM on the Tilt II.
My annoyance is that, if I have a text conversation open, my phone does not make a sound or vibrate upon receipt of a new text message from that person. So if I leave it displaying the messages from that dialogue, and lock the phone, it won't give me a notification when I receive a message.
Anyone know a way to disable this annoying 'feature'?
Thanks

I'd love a fix for this also. I've seen it on most all ROM's I've tried. If the HTC messaging app is open (not sure if the MS messaging does it also) I don't get notified of txt messages.
This means either you should close the app after each message, or remember to check it during a "conversation" with somebody. Very annoying.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
I've searched for similar threads but none quite like the question I'm about to ask. I am using Koni Elite series III and have been for some time. I just did a clean wipe to see if this would resolve it but still happening. The problem is I get 2 notifications when someone sends me a text. Usually this person is on my contacts list so I get one with there name and the other comes in as the phone number. I'd rather just have the one from the name. I don't seem to be getting dual messages.. Just dual notifications. I do not have any other messaging apps installed .. just the default from the rom.. No other themes except Launcher pro installed. Thanks for any advice or help on this.
I'm seeing now that one looks to be from either email or voicemail sent as a text message if that helps.. still can't find where to turn this off at. Thanks for any help!
I FIGURED IT OUT!!!! The mystery notification was from an app called Red List. I installed it to get rid of the 9016 text messages you sometimes get. It worked in eliminating that text but there is a setting for message notifications that I unchecked and walla.. no more duplicates Hope this helps someone else.. Case closed..
Several years ago I found an app here called Txt Secretary which allowed me to customize my text message notification by contact so that everyone that sent me a text message had their own alert tone so I would know who was texting me just by which alert was played which I really liked a lot & it was working great until about three days ago. Now I can't find the cab that I had for the program & for some reason the program is no longer working. I really liked that program & want to be able to have different text alerts depending on who is texting me so can anyone please help me out w/this. It is really important to me to be able to have the distinction of who is texting me by the alert tone that is played. If anyone has this cab or knows where I can get it please let me know. Thank you

Maybe?
Thx but that is not the program that I am looking for. I want the program that will allow me to change the txt tone that is played depending on who is sending me the txt.
When every I send and email from my watch the other person gets the message as the subject line and message body just says "Sent via voice". I have tried various email apps ie. Cloud Magic and WearMail. Both apps will work fine but only when replying to an email. It seems to use something else for composing from scratch. Does anyone know what I need to change or configure someplace?
Bump, I have the same issue with Asus Zenwatch and LG G2. Tried everything that OP has tried.
