I tried to flash CM7 RC2 onto my phone last night. I usually do this manually, but last night I did it through Rom Manager which I think was probably my first mistake.
Anyway, the package flashed fine but after a reboot my SIM and SD card were no longer recognised. So I went into recovery (Amonra) and wiped ready to flash the update manually only to find my SD card wasn't recognised: E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk01p (No such file or directory). So, left with a phone with no ROM.
I can still get into recovery and bootloader but that's it. I've seen a few posts on here with regards to USB bricks, but my phone is no longer recognised by adb. However, I haven't accessed the phone via adb for some time now, so not sure of the reason I can't connect is my PC setup or the phone. I've got the HTC Bootloader device appearing when I plug it in via USB though.
Can anyone advise on anything I can do to sort this?
Thanks
Might be a driver issue when your in recovery. Re-install the drivers for the device using Device Manager and point windows to the driver directory within the SDK folder.
Hi my brother has a Desire HD just liek mine and is unlocked rooted and hboot just like mine but he cannot connect his phone to the PC if he put the phone into bootloader it doesnt recognise it, if he puts it in fast boot it doesnt recognice it..
Debugging is on stay awak is on.
We are using windows 7 and installed XP as a virtual environment to see if that helped but when connedted it said it was connected to 02mmc ccid but doesnt allow him to do anything.
He has no option to select media storage from handset..
He has managed to flash a new rom and kerna by taking out the memory stick and putting it directly into the comp. Then he boots to recovery and flashes from the but he cannot use the sync or any ADB commands.
Could anyone please help..
HI,
you need the windows driver for android system
you can download it from the SDK GUI
bearing in mind myine works perfectly fine on the exact same laptop would it still be the driver
Are you using 3 uk rom. I had a crazy job trying to get adb working..
I followed the guides and pushed all the right buttons and no joy. Does fastboot work, might be worth seeing if you get anythong from that...
I fixed it by flashing a different Rom (kingdom 1.0) - This maybe coincidence and I might be talking rubbish, but it worked for me.
Hi folks,
I previously managed to get Cyanagenmod installed on my HTC One X but since made a mess of it trying to get a stock ROM on there (to unlock my SIM). I have since given up on getting a stock ROM back on there and am now trying to get Cyanogenmod back on there, but I have hit some problems.
I have CWM on there and my PC can see the phone in Fastboot, but not via ADB (which I am trying to use to 'push' the ROM on there so I can install it). My PC (Win 8.1) is giving me a "device descriptor request failed" when connecting to USB when on the boot menu, and is showing up just as "One" in device manager when I load CWM. However neither of these situations are allowing my computer or ADB to recognise the SD card.
I have tried 'mounting' it in CWM, updating drivers through device manager, installing Sync (and uninstalling/reinstalling it), installing HTCDriver_4.10.0.001.msi all to no avail.
Does anyone have any advice to get my PC to recognise my phone or otherwise get a customer ROM installed (if there is another way.)
Thanks in advance all.

Flash Philz 5.15.9 recovery use it to mount sd card then to copy the rom you need then flash recovery for your rom for CM12 is one for CM11 is other and for Sense is third. For sense rom you can use Philz 5.15.9. And for the new layout is fourt recovery
Thanks!
I couldn't find it so I downloaded a newer version, but it didn't work, so I looked for longer and found a version, but that wouldn't even boot. In the end I used openrecovery-twrp-2.1.7, which did let me mount the SD and install the ROM.
Then I got stuck on the loading screen, but I discovered I needed to just flash a boot.img (which wasn't in either of the guides I was following, for some reason?!) and now I'm all up and running.
Thank you kind sir!
Okay so now that I've scanned pretty much all of what the internet has to offer on this issue, I'm helpless and forced to write a new thread here about this.
Yes, a similar question has been replied to a million times before, but absolutely none of that helped, made no difference whatsoever.
So earlier, I was on the stock rom, with TWRP flashed and root access. But wanted to switch to the community build. Tried the twrp trick to install the CB but that didn't work, so flashed the stock OP3 rom and flashed community build.
All went fine, until I tried flashing back TWRP. Used the traditional ADB method of doing that, seemed to have flashed it but tried going into recovery only to be presented with a black screen. I got fed up of that trying to fix it for a whole day so I just left it, because I could still boot into the OS and that worked fine.
Fast forward to about a week later; somehow the flash didn't work and I still have stock recovery. Now I try flashing TWRP again, but I discover that my device doesn't get detected in fastboot. It absolutely refuses to.
It DOES, however, gets detected in the OS just fine.
I've tried every which way, absolutely NOTHING seems to work AT ALL.
- OEM unlocking is checked, if that makes a difference
- USB debugging is turned on
- Uninstalled all USB drivers related to the device, and installed them via device manager (but it gave me this error:
"the folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with windows for x64-based systems)
seeing as I'm on an x64 version of Windows (its worked before with my Nexus 5, I swear)
- Tried it with different adb fastboot files, from all over the internet. All of them show just that blank space after I type in 'adb devices'
- Installed universal adb drivers.
- Samsung drivers.
- Obviously the official OnePlus drivers.
- Used Usbdeview to uninstall / force stop and re-installed the drivers.
- All in one tool
Now I'm thinking, I should try to re-lock the bootloader and unlock it again, or do like hard rest sort of things. I have no idea though, how this would affect the detection in fastboot.
Anyone have any ideas? Because I'm out of all of them, and so is most of internet.
TL;DR - Adb devices detects phone while booted in OS, but not in fastboot. Tried all methods, nothing works. Going to do lock bootloader then unlock it and try again, if not that then going to do a clean wipe and install the community build again, hoping that would work. Should I?

Hmmm Windows 7.
I can most certainly try that but the real question now is; how the hell did it work previously on my Windows 10 machine and refuses to work now? But at least I have a solution to try out, in the mean time! Thanks!

You need modified twrp by @eng.sdk.

I am having a similar issue. I have a brand new OP3. Everything stock. I'm attempting to unlock the bootloader and have found that while ADB recognises the phone, Fastboot doesn't. I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue and I have no idea how to fix.
Hello
Everything is working good
it seems to be a problem with adb Windows 10 IDK
, it is better to do it on Windows 7

I'm afraid you've missed the point, my friend.
If the phone does not get detected in the fastboot, it means I cannot flash anything, period. No original TWRP, no modified TWRP.
I had this exact issue and fixed it.
Fastboot would never see my device, no matter which driver package I tried or no matter how I tried to install or force the correct drivers. Turns out Windows 10 (and Windows 8) has a feature that completely prevents installation of unsigned drivers, which blocks the fastboot driver. If you're seeing "Kedracom" or "Android Device" in the device manager, then your driver is NOT actually installed. This is true even if Windows doesn't throw you an error message during install, or if you appear to force the installation. Even though it looks like you're doing the install correctly, Windows just ignores your unsigned drivers.
You need to temporarily disable the security feature to permit installation of unsigned drivers. This involves invoking a special restart function. Here's the howto for Win10: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-...igned-drivers/
Once you've done this, on the next reboot you can do a forced install of the unsigned fastboot drivers you downloaded for the OP3. And simply rebooting your computer restores the security feature.
It's mostly because of the windows security over unsigned drivers.. Try the above method or just the cmd way..

Hey guys, I managed to run myself into a little bit of a pickle..
I have flashed the Tipsy ROM v.4.9 on my G3 D550 a couple of weeks ago, and foolishly forgot to flash the extra file that was recommended to keep the phone rooted. During the process TWRP that was previously working perfectly has vanished and now when trying to enter recovery mode it gets into a weird flickering screen and a bootloop.
Now I have tried re-flashing TWRP from my Windows 10 laptop with a thousand different drivers that I found online (uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling etc etc), but every single time the phone is reckognised with the adb devices command, but the fastboot devices command leaves me in the cold. I have tried everything I could think of. I tries a friends laptop, also windows 10, nada. Then I tried an Ubuntu live session from my own machine, same thing. ADB working, fastboot not.
Does any of you maybe have any idea of how I could get my root and ultimately my recovery back? I am kinda stuck with this rom now, which albeit being great, is obviously not fully fleshed out yet, plus of course it cuts the option of trying out more of the wonderful work that some of you guys here do!
I would appreciate any kind of help!
Thanks!
