While figuring out how to root a friend's Note II, I stumbled upon this thread here . I haven't tested it on the Note 4 yet, but tried it out on my S4. Of course they are different, but the S4 wasn't able to be rooted through normal methods. I was just curious if anyone wanted to try it out.
Mods, I don't know if this is in the right section, but since I didn't create it, I didn't put it in the Development Section.
Thanks for reading, I just wanted to share. Happy rooting!
Nope towelroot does not work on the note 4. there are no root methods as of now. Otherwise everyone would be rooted

Okay, so I have an AT&T US version of the Galaxy Note 2 (I317). Is there a 'rooting for dummies' type guide that explains what it is, what you need to do it, what to expect while doing it, things that could go wrong, ways to back up the stock ROM before rooting, things like that?
P.S. I currently have no audio on my pc so video guides no go.

Reading the F.A.Q Thread is a good idea for knowing most of the things about the device in simple. If you want to know more, you can search through the I317 Forum.
You can also look here:

It'll take you to everything you need, Rom's, recoveries, kernels, etc..

i'd just got my 4.3 upgrade, planning to root and flash DN3, what method should i pick to root my n7100?
Thanks
One of the easiest option to root galaxy note2 N7100 is with this app Framaroot.
Created by fellow xda member ALEPHZAIN.
You can find it here in xda of course.
Its not in Google Play store so look it up via google.Just type Framaroot and press search.
I've rooted using different ways before but the last time I rooted was with this app.Very efficient. Its just an app, open it theres 4 options, press aragon. You're rooted.

So I am thinking about rooting my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, but I have a question I hope someone can help me with. If I root my tablet and flash CleanRom on it, can I go back to stock rom if I want? The reason I ask is that I cannot seem to find the SM-T320 US stock rom. I see a lot of other countries, but not US.
Thanks
I found this previously and believe it should work but I haven't tried it yet myself http://nasirtech.blogspot.com/2014/02/t320ueu1anai-android-442-for-galaxy-tab.html. That is the same ROM my US 8.4 came with. I'm running CleanROM currently and it's fabulous!

Hello big guys.
I'm a noob when it comes to roots and roms on phones.
I have been using the offical touchwiz still and is a little interested in rooting the phone and installing cyanogenmod to make it work faster.
I've read that there is a one click method to root called towelroot right now, I want to try it because I don't really understand how to root with other ways on the forum.
And I'm wondering if anyone has tried it before so I can use it and move on to the next step of flashing a custom rom.
Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately Towelroot doesn't support this device yet. I tried earlier today
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623635 this is the link to the everything thread for the captivate glide. They have root instructions there, and they're pretty straightforward
Good luck!
Hey guys I just rooted my phone a couple days ago and just installed an AT&T software update, but then realized after it was finished that it would brick my phone or something like that because AT&T software no like or whatever (logic, why not just work around that? If anything, superuser privs should help). I don't have Custom recovery installed and would really love a response soon on how to fix without a factory reset. Thanks guys!
Oh and while im kinda on the topic, anyone know a good ROM I can flash? I would also like to know if there is a ROM that makes it just like iOS just to brag to my friends who own iPhones and think that they are good .
Hi,
I'd need to know your exact make and model number of your device to point you towards help.
And unfortunately many times fixing issues like that require either a factory reset, or installing stock firmware again.
