I use the VZW messaging + app(I know....) But in my case, when visiting my parents the VZW service in their house sucks so using this app allows me to send MMS/SMS over wifi without any problems plus I can do it from a tab or from my computer as well:good:

Thanks for the info. I'Ll give it a try.

The Verizon Messaging app is fantastic. I know that people tend to dismiss it because it's from VZW, but they really hit the mark with this app. I have it installed on all of my computers and other electronic devices, and it works flawlessly. Great app.

You wouldn't happen to be using Adblock Plus? I ask because I had the same issue and found it was the proxy settings needed for Adblock Plus that were causing MMS to fail for me. Hope you figure it out.

I am using adblock plus but it no longer works. I will uninstall it and see if that works. Thanks

I use Textra and I never had a problem with this I am not sure why you are having issues.
Even when Sending Text+MMS when on Wifi.. hmm

It's a known issue with wifi tether pre10 and pre11. Try clearing the app data and see if that helps.
You can also spend some time here.

The guys that make the. Wifi software do very well. However, they have no control over any other mods you have done. So just keep trying to make it work. Alternatively, you can pay Sprint $30 a month and have it work fine all the time.

[Q] can't find sprint hotspot app??

I'm really not a noob, but for the life of me, I can't find the sprint hotspot app on my phone. I've never used it before, but signed up for the wifi hotspot feature. Saw in settings wireless how to activate sharing via usb or bluetooth, but for the life of me, I can't find this app to share data over wifi. Am I missing something?

I'm on stock, not rooted. Didn't feel the need to root this phone. That's why I'm stumped not to find it. It's not a hidden app nor has it been disabled in the app manager.

Just a suggestion but if you root your phone which is not very difficult you can get wifi hotspot for free. I dont understand why we should pay for something that already comes with our phones.
I know I can, but I've rooted previous phones--HTC Hero and the Samsung Epic 4G. I had many issues with the Epic 4G after root that I didn't have before rooting. I like to play with the phones, but I don't like things going wrong. I don't have as much time to tinker with them to get them to work right. I could spend a whole weekend doing nothing but root and reflash different roms. Was fun, but a time suck!

[Q] MMS on Hangouts not working while WIFI on

Got my M8 the other day and noticed my MMS through Hangouts wasnt working while I had WIFI on, I turned of WIFI and MMS worked right away. I did some searching and found that people from verizon and att also having this issue but there was no solution. Thought I would post this here to see if anyone else is having this issue and if there is a fix. Never had this issue on M7.

I have even tried stock messaging app as well, same issue, if my wifi is on and try to send/receive mms the 4g/lte icon comes on but just sits there trying to download, if i turn wifi completely off it comes right through
that is weird..I assume you have rebooted the phone a few times..
maybe time to call tech support, and see if your phone is defective?

rebooted several times, will call tech support but i have seen others with this same issue
I wasn't able to receive MMS while on wifi with hangouts or hoverchat unless I opened the stock messaging app. I messed with wifi and mobile priorities and APN setting and no luck so I'm using the stock app for now.
If you're using WiFi calling you can't send and receive MMS unless it's the stock app.

I'm experiencing the same issue. I actually called T-Mobile tech support and they walked me through deleting all my SMS messages in the hangouts app and then making the native app the default messaging app again. Then they wanted me to send a test MMS message to myself (using the native messaging app) and it worked. So i went back to using hangouts again and it worked for a day, and now it stopped working again. sounds like a bug in the HTC software to me.
I've always had this issue. You can help it out a bit by going into the wifi settings and setting it to be able to auto switch from wifi back to your 4G connection. Still doesn't always work. I don't send MMS often though so its not a big deal to me. Its the only thing that doesn't work for me. It does the same thing for me in the normal messaging app too. I turn wifi off and it goes though just fine. My M8 is only a few days old but most of my issues came from that same issue on my Note 3.
I can't send mms with hangouts on wifi either.
Is there a way to report this issue to HTC?

How did I never see this when I had the Note 3. It was soooooooooooo annoying. I always disabled my wifi and get it then go back to wifi. I just tested this and it works. I don't do very many MMS messages but when I get one I know it'll download correctly.

i was having the same issue ill give this a try thanks.
I'm going to have to retract my previous statement where I said it works. Yes, it does work but you have to disable wifi calling for it to work. I guess I'll have to deal with disabling wifi when I send/receieve MMS because wifi calling is a must for me.
I'd like to see TMobile fix this to work with wifi calling enabled too.

Activation not completed?

I seen from another post you used idoneapps. I also use Att service and unlocked with idoneapp. That's just the activation app for Sprint cdma service.
Just goto the debranding option in the idoneapp and select delete carrier apps to erase them, or disable carrier apps if you feel the need to keep them on your phone.
Or you can use Titanium Backup to freeze or uninstall them.
That should do it.:good:

I will try that thank you, another thing since you're using the AT&T service on your device as well do your text messages fail two or three times before finally sending off? And are you able to receive 4G or 4G LTE on yours? Mine is only reading 3G but it's not super painfully slow just a little.
Delete that file or change its extension from .apk to .ap.

My text work fine. And the phone will only say 3g cause we can't use LTE. DOESN'T have right bands enabled. But it's still 4G. I connect on HSPA+. Which is fast enough for me. Plus I use web mostly at home on Wi-Fi.
About that texting, only thing I've noticed is you can't send or receive MMS with Wi-Fi on. Unless you use a 3rd party app like Textra.

Yeah, I am not able to get mms messages if I'm hooked up to wifi also. I think I'll download that app and just use it instead. So even though the phone displays 3G its 4G speeds? If it's not too much trouble would you be able to provide a screenshot of your apn settings?

That look right. I mostly get when I test @ 1Mbps upload and download. That first pic I sent was getting good bandwidth.
I've seen threads claim to get Lte but I don't think it's possible. I've even tried unlocking lte bands.-no go.
Phones fast enough for me. I'm just glad to have such an awesome phone handed down to me. It's got great development to.

Nougat issues.

So as far as the update goes I really do like it. However I am having a couple issues. Wifi calling will no longer connect for starters. Also when I open messaging and then open a conversation there's like a 2 sec pause before the conversation actually opens. Anyone else having these issues? I'm wondering if I should just do a hard reset and start from scratch. Thanks for any help.

No wifi calling for me after enabled for a few minutes from a fresh reboot. Get a can't connect wifi calling to the network message, but if I reboot It works right after for a few again.
I have neither issue, and I use WiFi calling on many different networks, you should call Sprint and have then reset your WiFi calling. On the messaging, try a different app, such as Textra. I notice a lil more battery drain, but that will prolly change after 7 soaks in for a few days.

Are you guys with WiFi calling issues using any ad blocking software. As that seems to be likely what is causing my issues with WiFi calling. Adguard disabled it will work all day just fine.

It likely will not, or doesn't for me. I'd go without it for a while and make sure WiFi calling is fine. (make a few calls and such) then later fill a report from within the app feedback. They will likely get back to you asking to change the logging level to everything and reproduce the problem. so maybe do that from the start. The more reports the better chance it gets fixed.

NEED URGENT HELP
I updted my LG G5 sprint to Nougat and since then the LG IMS stopped error has been popping every sec....
is anyone having this issue and how to fix it
LG G5 Text Message Issues since Adroid 7.0 Nougat Update
The problem with not receiving text messages reliably on an LG phone running Android 7.0 Nougat is related to the text messaging app that LG created and loaded onto our phones as the default messaging app. I reported this issue to LG about a month ago after extensive testing and I've confirmed that many 3rd party messaging apps will work reliably. For instance and app like Textra will work reliably and offers much more functionality than the built in LG app.
I even went as far as to provided my testing details then send my phone in for warranty repair so that LG could have a closer look and work towards a resolution but all LG did was factory reset my phone and said that the phone worked fine. When I got it back I tested again and the issue remained. I firmly believe LG has no idea how to resolve this software issue and is ignoring it at this point and basically screwing their customers over. Luckily the solution is to ditch the LG messaging app and use any 3rd party messaging app instead.....but I would encourage anyone having this issue to hold LG to task and report it to them as this issue is a direct result of a poorly written application they created.
This is my first LG and it will be my last....never again!
