So I hear lollipop is out and I go and check for updates, except it says it's checking for updates...
for 15 minutes now.
I tried restarting, but it keeps doing it, whats up?
I'm from Denmark, its a fully stock One M8, nothing has been tangled with or rooted etc.
Not carrier locked or anything.
Then ignore it and let it time out

My phone started updating. got to 3% then said phone care process has stopped working. then the bar at the top cleared later ( I pressed clear on accident ) IT was also going for like about 18 hours on 15% ... Is there a way I can check the % on it? and is it screwed up cuz of the phone care thing?

I'm going to guess you are on Verizon with the R800x?
Phone Care _IS_ the updater. Basically you will have to make sure you are in an area with good signal and stay there, plugged in, with WiFi off.
Alternatively, you could do everyone a favor and install SEUS from SonyEricsson's website and update directly through that. It should download the latest stuff, and then you could even post a copy of the updater files for us to pick apart to help further development efforts.
As a last caveat, I'm pretty sure you haven't done this, but if you unlocked the bootloader and/or rooted the R800x (or any model for that matter) Do not take an Over The Air (OTA) update. It will brick your phone.
Hey guys,
So my problem is this, while using the phone sometimes it will randomly reboot. However its not a full reboot it only takes about 4 seconds to start back up, I get a black screen the the lg startup boot logo then I'm at the log in screen. I've rooted and unlocked bootloader however I have not installed any roms, I'm on rogers and have not done the update they came out with.
The frequency at which the phone does this is about once per week.
I'm somewhat of a noob so if you guys have some advice for me please try and explain it a little more fully than normal.
Thank you

happens to me as well from time to time
Same here although the frequency of reboots has decreased drastically lately. I haven't had a reboot in over a month.

No. 10h. This update didn't completely fix the reboots; I had several right after installing the update. Not sure why the reboots stopped, but I'm happy now.

this happens to me too. I am rooted and have an unlocked bootloader, so I can't do the OTA update.
it's not really a big deal considering how fast this thing reboots.
So, I had the 2012 version and did it no problem using the Toolkit, I tried using the Unified Nexus Toolkit again and all worked well as far as installling drivers and them being recognized and yada yada.
Point is, when i get to the screen with the warranty warning and the option to select no don't unlock or yes, unlock....i select yes and it just freezes and hangs there...am i supposed to wait for a long time or is it supposed to be instantaneous like I imagine it being?
What am i doing wrong and what can i do to fix this, i searched google and keep coming up with methods of how to unlock and all that but that's not the problem....I have tried two other programs or toolkits what have you, still no success because the issue is when selecting yes and the tablet hangs

How long is it sitting there after you select unlock? I remember when I unlocked mine, it took abnormally long. It sat at "erasing data" for what felt like an eternity. In reality, it was probably like 5-10 minutes.

If I remember correctly, mine hung there first for a bit as well. I would give it like 15-30 minutes or so just to make sure there's an actual issue.
Hi Guys,
Just a point as it happened to me all morning and I was getting frustrated, check that you're not using a usb 3.0 port.
When I switched to usb 1.0, it worked perfectly.
Also, just in case, I made sure I used the cable given by asus.
Good luck hope that works for you as it did for me.
so i did get the bootloader unlocked an ungodly amount of time...literally sat there for about 30 minutes but maybe because it was erasing the games i have cause i have GTA San Andreas and GTA 3 and a handful of other games, some big some small and mad other apps so i am assuming the wipe took some time but now i can't seem to get it to install TWRP...i think i have to reinstall drivers, I know i can get things working at this point once i get the time.
Thanks guys.
Hi all,
I have 2 FireTVs that are rooted and it was pretty easy. I just got a 3rd for a friend and I'm now having issues. The FireTV has a serial of 7090030342920*** which from previous research others have been able to root. Now I have already tried the pull the cable trick but the checking for updates is to fast and it starts downloading the update. I also added the 3 domains to block and all it does is sit at the "checking for updates" screen. I've let it sit there for 20 min and still nothing. I also removed 2 of the 3 domains (left amzdigitaldownloads.edgesuite.net) and the same thing happens. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I let it update and hope that its an incremental update? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
BlueKalel

OK, it finally moved to the registration screen. It took almost 30+ minutes to get there which I've never seen before. Next time I should wait an hour instead of pulling the plug.
Thanks,

Same here
I got the OTA update this morning. Tablet then asked my PIN for encryption with no problem, then after that the only response is messed-up flashing colored lines on the screen. Any suggestions? Fully stock, not rooted, should be just a basic update. North America wifi only version.

Solved itself. If you have this, just give the tablet an hour. It looks like this update takes a long time to apply and leaves the tablet in a strange mood while it is working. When I checked mine after 30 minutes is when it would only flash at me. 30 minutes later is started up normally.
