Wrong device thread
That doesn't look like a "HTC Desire", quick search shows it as "HTC Butterfly".
Please check on that thread instead if you still have question.

Hey guys, I looked on wikipedia at the G2 specs, and it lists
Connectivity: Quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS 1700 2100 MHz, and HSPA+

I am interested in buying a T-Mobile branded G2 (unlocked of course) from the US, and need to know if it will work in the UK or not. From the specs listed there it will, but wikipedia isn't always accurate of course.
Can anyone please confirm wikipedia is right?
There was another thread about this a few days ago
check it out

Ah thanks, I didn't see that one when I tried to search.
Hi everyone,
I bought my Desire HD in europe and i have RCMix Custom ROM on it.
This smmer im going to the USA and i was wondering Is my phone going to work on all USA Mobile carriers like Verizon, AT&T and others ?
as long as your phone is unlocked, then why not!
You probably want to double check the DHDs supported frequency bands with that of the US networks.
I'm sure the HTC Inspire is the US version of the DHD that has US carrier support.
From the HTC Spec List:
htcwebsite said:
Network 4
Europe:
HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Asia Pacific:
HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

The next step is for you to check the frequencies used by the US networks (I'm not doing everything for you!!!*) and compare to this list.
I know Verizon still uses 800MHz in some areas (not supported).
*@Andy, I'm nice but I'm not THAT nice!
Dear xda Members and / or galaxy note 2 Users,
I'm a bit confused about the various versions of the Note 2.
In a few days I'll visit Florida and intend to buy the LTE version from Walmart.
ht.tp://ww w.walmart. com/ip/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-Smartphone-Titanium-Gray/22374238
(I don't know if shoplinks are allowed, but you can't buy it directly here and i hope you can accept it anyway this time)
However, I need to know whether the phone works in Europe/Germany and with which communication standards.
Is there a difference between the US and European GT-N7105?
on ht.tp://e n.wikipedia. org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_II i found various versions called
AWS phone
CDMA/EV-DO phone
TD-SCDMA phone
Dual-cell HSPA phone.
and the LTE where they tell that it would be kind of an "International" phone.
"Most of the variants support GSM/GPRS/EDGE in the 850 Mhz, 900 Mhz, 1.9 Ghz, and 2.1 Ghz bands; and UMTS/HSPA+21 in 850 Mhz, 900 Mhz, 1.9 Ghz, and 2.1 Ghz"
Does the version i found on the walmart page support UMTS? there are only specifications that it can handle GSM and LTE, but not which LTE Bands.
(I think I need support for 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and/or 2600 MHz in Western Europe)
correct me if i'm wrong with any statement and enlighten the confusion for me if pssible
Thanks in advance !
PS: I'm not allowed to post outside links here, so I addet space characters before .com and .org and in the www and the "en" and dots between the ht.tp's. remove them before copying.
Hi,
I recently bought unlocked HTC One M8, can I get it working with Wind Mobile?
Here are the frequency bands:
LTE Quad Band (Bands 17/4/2/5); LTE MIMO; GSM/EDGE: Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 Hz), Class 12; UMTS: Tri-band (UMTS 850/1900/2100MHz), HSPA+Category 14xx (HSDPA 21Mbps/ EDCH 5.7 Mbps);
Thanks,
Were you able to figure this out?
I'm trying to find out the same for someone that wants to buy my HTC One M8. I had it unlocked from Bell and they are on Wind.
Bell lists frequencies as:
HSPA/UMTS compatibility: 850/AWS/1900/2100 MHz
GPRS/EDGE compatibility: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
Click to collapse
It is the first 850/AWS/1900/2100 listing that has me wondering if it will work.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

Cool, now to unwrap it all yet again from the shipping box and figure out what model I have, lol...
Thanks
All the Canadian ones are the same model.
HTC One M8
So I will be safe saying this works on Wind? Or should I go to Wind and make sure?
There was a discussion of this on one of the Canadian threads a while ago. Also here is a breakdown of all the variants: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7893/the-htc-one-m8-review
Only AT&T blocked off AWS.

Cool, thanks again for all the help!
I will look for the discussion this weekend when I have some more time, and see what has been said.
Cool found this too as you suggested Elisha, ty:

Looks like we will be safe, but I may go to a Wind store to have them try a SIM to be sure...
I ended up taking the phone directly to Wind and they put a test sim in it and it worked fine
Thanks again for the help and info
So I've found there is a lot of confusion surrounding this phone, especially when it comes to which version is which, and what work's with the CPU (ie: Xposed). After digging around on the 'net, and sucking upp all the details I could fine, here is a guide that I've put together, that will hopefully solve the confusion and chaos here...
The Huawei G8 (also marketed in some locals as the G7 Plus or the GX8) comes in 3 variants, both in single Sim and dual Sim versions:
Rio-L01 was released in Europe and some eastern countries like Bulgaria and Ukraine. It features a 5.5" full high-def screen, 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable with a microSD card up to 128GB, and 3GB of Ram.
Network frequencies are: GSM/ WCDMA 850/900/2100, LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800).
Rio-L02 was released in the Asia-Pacific region. Some retailerers are branding it as the G8 "premium Edition", although is has the exact same specifications as the L01 model, just with different network frequencies.
Network frequencies are: GSM/ WCDMA: 850/900/2100, FDD LTE: 700/850/900/1800/2100/2600.
Rio-L03 is the American release version, sporting the same 5.5" FHD screen, but with only 16GB of internal storage, and 2GB of Ram.
Network frequencies are: GSM/ WCDMA: 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS: 850 (B5), 1700/2100 (B4), 1900 (B2), LTE: 700 (B17), 850 (B5), 1700/2100 (B4), 2600 (B7), 1900 (B2), 700 (B12).
All versions are powered by the same Snapdragon 615 CPU. What is causing confusion when it comes to rooting and adding mods such as Xposed, is that this is a x64 chipset, meaning that the normal "arm" or "arm32" mods will not work on this device. When flashing add on's like Xposed, the "arm64" zip must be flashed, or you will land in a bootloop, and will need to flash everything including your custom recovery again. This is the same, no matter if you have a single sim or dual sim variant, as sim has nothing to do with rooting or modding the device.
Hopefully this adds a bit of clarity to our new and much beloved device...
If anyone has anything to add, please let me know, and I'll add it in as need be.
Thanks for tuning in!
(Maybe the Admin can sticky this post at the top for better reference...)
SO this is what caused my bootloop with Xposed!
Thank you really much for your research.
However, when trying to flash the ARM64 zip, it tells me that it's the wrong platform.
One if the most confusing for huawei G8 dual sim L01 cannot recharger with blank screen and also red signal issue. We try to release the batteries flexible cable and plug in again still nothing change. Is there any way to fix this?
