How to Install New rom on this HTC Desire

Hi Everybody,
I have an HTC Desire and i want to know how to install a new rom on this device :
HTC Desire
Bravo PVT4 SHIP S-ON
HBoo : 0.93.0001
Touch Panel-Synt0101
Radio-5.10.05.30
How can I root my device and install new rom ?
thanks for your answer
First, go to Settings>About phone>Software information and post the software version we can see if you're on something that can be unrooted...
Ok i have this version :
Android 2.2
Baseband 32.48.00.32U_5.10.05.30
kernel 2.6.32.15-ge2c73db
build 2.22.71.2 CL254708
software number 2.22.71_2
you have all what you need ?
how can i root and which procedure can i use to do it ?
I have the same hboot as you 093, and i root my phone with unrevoked 3.2 method, and i'm realy pleased now and happy. Just goole unrevoked, you will find it on the unlockr site. Just folow the steps there, will be a bit triky with the drivers for the computer....you will see some discutions on the forums. Folow the steps acurate... and with this method you cant brick your phone....Good luck
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks !
Ok i know this method but to put a new firmware what is the procedure after that ?
1. Get the ROM you want
2. Put the ZIP file on your SD card
3. Boot into the custom Recovery
4. Flash the ZIP
5. Reboot

[Q]How to restore Rooted/S-OFF/Custom Recovery

Hi guys,
(I've searched through the forums loads BTW - but may have missed something. So just point me in the right direction - thanks)
I recently got myself the Desire HD and Rooted with VISIONary, I then used the scripts at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835746 to obtain S-OFF Successfully. At this point I installed ROM Manager and flashed ClockworkMod to the recovery, and then tried out a few of the chef's specials here. Everything was backed up after Root and S-OFF as I needed CWM in the recovery to perform the backup.
1) The question is how do I restore my DHD to factory state?
I know I can revert the root with VISIONary in-app, so my main concern is getting the original recovery image back on to the phone and applying S-ON.
I think I can flash using an RUU to restore the recovery image - but I don't want to choose the wrong one to invalidate any warranty and it's not clear if this restore S-ON. My operator is Orange UK, and I found some RUUs on a thread that linked to http://xdafil.es/?path=DesireHD
I downloaded: RUU_Ace_Orange_UK_1.40.61.2_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_157531_signed
Here are the necessaries:
Rom Manager 3.0.0.1
ClockWorkMod Recovery: 2.5.1.3
Baseband V.
12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernel
2.6.32.21-gf3f553d
Build #
1.32.405.6 CL278359 release-keys
Software #
1.32.405.6
The RUU I downloaded seems to have the same radio, but higher build/software number, although mine says ...'eU' rather than just 'e.'
2) How is it possible that's a later build number when there were no updates available before I rooted/S-OFFd etc?
3) Will I still receive OTAs if I flash this?
Thanks in advance guys!
Rob
Go to the radio thread in my sig, do Radio S-OFF (yes, S-OFF), and then follow the instructions to go back to stock.

[Q]Stuck at white htc screen

Hi there,
After unlocking my Desire HD with the official HTCdev bootloader unlock service I installed Clockwork 5.0.2.7111102. From here I installed SuperUser 2.3.6.3 and it seems I have root access.
Both through ROM Manager as manual through ClockWork I have tried to install several custom ROMs. I did wipe the user data beforehand etc. But after reboot every time it keeps hanging at the white HTC screen.
I havent made backup of previous version. My phone is stuck completly. I can do nothing but only new rom..
Can someone please help me with this issue? Many thanks!
Additional info:
S-On
HBoot 2.00.0029
Radio 26.14.04.28.M
Android 2.3.5
HTC sence 3.0
Software 3.12.405.1
Kernel 2.6.35.10-9931a37e
When you unlock using the HTC dev method you have to flash the boot.img separately.
Take the boot.img of whatever rom you want and flash it by running
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
For future reference the correct method is
1)flash rom in recovery
2)boot back into hboot and flash roms boot.img
4ext recovery has a new option of flashing boot.img when son all in the same step.(make it similar process to soff devices

You need to switch to S-OFF in order for flashing to be successful. Use this then once you boot into Hboot and see S-off, then you can try to flash the rom...

How do i find those kernel modules i need ?
Hello athulele,
Thank you. Actually, I think your reply helped me to solve this Airplane Mode stuck issue with my HTC One X. After reading your reply, I search for stock kernel modules for my CID of HTC One X and flashed it. Then, restored stock Nandroid Backup of ICS. Then, rebooted the mobile. After the first reboot, the issue was NOT solved. Without doing anything, I just pressed and hold power button until I get those 3 options with restart option in them. Then, selected restart and restarted the mobile. Then, it worked.
I have posted my full experience with this issue over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41748424#post41748424
Hope, it will help someone.
Regards,
Harish

Which kernel do you use? if this is custom kernel, put zip file to sdcard and go to recovery, then install kernel.zip from sdcard.

Need help, stuck getting Desire ready for flashing ROMs

Trying to get CWM Recovery, then flash some ROMs. I understand that first I have to unlock my bootloader so I followed HTCDev's guide and I did it once before on Wildfire S without any problems. On Desire when I enter the string into the Command Promt I get ERR message without any code that I should send. Didn't find any answers for that problem, but I heard I maybe need RUU or HBOOt or something like that. So I skipped that and went to root the phone. I used 2 versions of Unrevoked and SuperOneClick and they both failed. Now what I don't understand is this RUU thing. I can't find my version. And I don't understand why and what HBOOT should I flash. Below are the details:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.02.0001
RADIO-5.17.05.23
Android 2.3.3
Baseband Version
32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
Build Number
3.14.405.1 CL96875
Software Number
3.14.405.1

If you are s-off, you don't need unrevoked or to unlock your bootloader. Just boot in recovery, and flash roms.
If you want a different recovery, flash one through fastboot commands.
