Curious to see how many people are taking their watches into pools, the shower, etc. I have yet to expose mine to water, but interested to do so because hey, that's one of the big perks of our watch compared to many of the other android wear watches, water proofing(as far as the limit allows). So what water has your smartwatch seen? If any.
I never take it off except to charge it really, so that includes daily showers and baths, swimming, jacuzzi at the gym and rain when out jogging. Cracking watch, I even dumped it in a pint down the pub to demonstrate its waterproofing to my mates, washed it off under the tap afterwards and all good

Dang holding up to all that pretty well huh? I'm surprised especially with the jacuzzi. How hot is that? Wondering if I would be okay in my hot tub.

Yeah I might be pushing it with the jacuzzi tbh, but **** it I say! The watch is cheap as chips really compared to watches generally so if I do kill it ho hum

I have taken into baths with my kids, pools swimming and the shower 100x. No issues! Just make sure the little rubber seal is nice and tight.
I have to turn off the screen though as otherwise random stuff happens underwater

Pretty sure that's a android wear software issue because my watch rarely ever sees water an it does that.

Mine accidentally ended up in the Gulf of Mexico due to a little boating accident! It was not my intention to submerge it in salt water, but I dunked it in fresh water shortly after to get the salt off, all while powered on, and so far so good. Kind of surreal having a touch screen computer like this under water while powered on...very cool. I don't take it swimming, but being here on the Florida coast, it is definitely exposed to plenty of water, and no issues so far. I would be most concerned about chlorine/salt/etc damaging the charging port or rubber cover, so I always make sure I wash it well in clean fresh water after it's exposed at the pool or beach.
NOTE: It is NOT RATED FOR SALT WATER, so please don't try this with yours!
I've given my kids a bath with it on and it gets fully submerged. No issues so far. I've also wore it on a few very sweaty runs. I had to turn Theater mode on though since the screen would act strangely with all of the water hitting it. I have no doubt this thing could handle a swim like a champ.

Anyone gone swimming or showered with the Moto360 ?
Sorry if the question sounds absurd but would like to hear if anyone has done so or done so regularly and if there are any issues. I practically wear my casio 24x7 ... so just wanted to know.
Thanks.
The moto 360 IS NOT RATED FOR SHOWER OR POOL. If you look up what the ip67 rating really is, the device cannot withstand forceful jets of water or extended submersion. It was designed to withstand dust and short immersion or gentle splashes - NOT hot shower jets or extended submersion in the pool. I have seen a lot of misunderstanding on what exactly the device is rated for and would hate to see people trash their watches assuming its "waterproof" because it is not.

Thanks. I just don't understand if it is really that much harder to make it fully waterproof when so many normal watches are water proof.
I wonder if the limitation is really around the wireless charging as most waterproof watches needs a steel back screwed on or due to the touch screen.
Well there are several spots that water could eventually infiltrate, if hot and or if a jet spray. The button, the back, the USB sticker, etc. Also, with a smart watch it is definitely more difficult to seal as opposed to a full steel case with screwed on back plate as you mentioned. To top it off, if I were Motorola I would stay conservative on what I had the device rated for to try to keep down issues of people seeing "waterproof" and going hog wild at the amusement park or cash wash with high pressure spray hitting the device.
Here's a video try:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khmC5EwdwqQ
And here's what Moto says:
Is my Moto 360 water resistant and water proof?
Moto 360 is water resistance, meaning it can sustain sweat and rain.
Water resistant in up to 1 meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Exposure of leather band to water is not recommended.
Note: Moto 360 is IP67 rated.
That being said, I have not tried it.
I used mine in the shower its was fine however the water makes the screen flip out because it detected the water as the screen being touched which is normal however because the display can be waked by tapping it it was difficult to stop it from doing things while wet. So yes you should be fine in the shower. however if you decide to do anything ridiculous with yours don't come crying to me about water damage. I'm not liable for your actions. but mine was fine.
I drive a motorcycle, have been caught in some heavy rain with the M360, no issues thus far. Everything works fine.
I wouldn't recommend swimming in a pool or taking a shower with it on, there is no point really.
Well I mean I poured a bottle of water over mine to freak out my friends, but that is within the ip67 certification. Shower and pool really aren't.
Showered and washed dishes with it.
Like some people said- the screen flips out if you shower with it, as it senses every little drop of water as if it's been touched.
EDIT- btw, jets of water in the shower?? What kind of awesome jet shower head do you guys have?? Mine just spits water out with a very reasonable amount of pressure.
Btw I read on motos support site that they don't replace devices with water damage so I'd be very careful

I work in a hospital and have no problems washing my hands... But I do take off the watch to take a shower.
You can't wear it in the shower, because as others have stated the screen goes ape-sh*t...
Same goes with jacuzzi or probably pool...
My Gear 2 had the option of only waking the screen by pushing the button, but 360 doesn't have that option yet
Wore my gear 2 in the shower all the time and they are rated the same. I never had any issues... I got that thing wet all the time never had an issue. Wore it in the river for about 4 hours and was fine as well. That is until I got tackled and it went floating down the river haha
Also know someone who threw their Galaxy S5 in a hot tub for 30 minutes and it was fine!
I shower with mine all the time. I use WearLocker to lock the screen so it doesn't go crazy. No issues so far.
It is high time there was a consumer protection law requiring all manufacturers provide free repair for water damage of water resistant, waterproof or weather-sealed products, regardless of warranty status unless a) the device is clearly labeled with a maximum depth and the manufacturer can prove it was exceeded, or b) the manufacturer can prove the damage happened prior to immersion. As is, it borders on fraud to advertise a product as capable of withstanding one meter immersion for half an hour, and to then say water damage is not covered under warranty in any circumstances.

Just so you know, there is absolutely no such thing as a "waterproof" watch. There are only varying levels of resistance. Even watches that are rated to a depth of 100m can't have their buttons pushed while under water; they'll leak. Diving watches also have limits. Ever noticed how much larger electronic devices are when they are certified for diving? Do you really want that on your wrist? There's additional concerns with a device like this as well...as in the discharge of heat. You don't want the processor to overheat just because the whole thing has been insulated against water to a ridiculous degree. And it has a capacitive display. Not so great in water. Not really necessary to further waterproof the thing. (A little bit more would be nice...perhaps IP68?).

I strongly disagree. Companies should not have to pay for the lack of common sense on the users' part.
Hi! Is there somebody (like me) that wear the watch while takes a shower? Or something like that?
In my case my watch is working perfecly, waiting for the 1.4 update to ensure speaker is working well.
Sure it will be ok. But just why would you wear it in the shower?

Yes, anyway it still works. And anywise, I usually never go to swim on pool, I do it on the sea, and in that case is dangerous due to salt, iodine, sand, and other substances in oceans water.
I swam with my LG G Watch and it has the same rating. Its submersible 3m (10ft) for 30min.
Now when I say swim, I mean I take it in my little backyard 5ft pool. I typically don't "swim" with it, but its in there with me. I try to keep it out of the water. But I love it for when I am on call for work. I can change tracks on Pandora and keep connected when I am relaxing on a raft.
My friend has the ZenWatch 2, same rating, and he showers with his.
All in all I'd say you could. I wouldn't, just so you can clean your wrist off once in a while, but if you jump in with it, it won't hurt it.

Once, i had a g watch too and while washing my hands the whole screen got filled up with water.
This happened after my watch got repaired, which I think this must have been the reason. No way i could have proven it.

Umm... before you have lots of people with broken watches moaning at you, IP67 doesn't allow for anything close to 3m (10ft) depth. It is actually 1m (3ft).

You can shower with it. I have many times, but the screen goes crazy like it's registering multiple constant touches.
I Used to swim with them in the pool and then went to sauna or Hamam but during last try the watches swiched of and never on again. even after one week service told me that there was a water inside. That means that protection is very weak. I used to have huawei talk band b1 and it was also IP67 but 2 of them where dead after sweaming with them. I suppose that huawei protection is weak. I used to sweam with my SGS 5 in the sea and filmed and nothing happened.

there's been a few times I've washed some dishes with the watch on and gotten water in the speakers sound enclosure and lost 95% of the speakers volume until it dried out an hour or so later ...
this happened again today, and the volume returned to normal when it dried out, so I figured I'd write this so that "if it happens to you" there is "probably no cause for alarm," (unless you urinate on your watch in your sleep then snooze through your alarm and lose your job) .. but when the watch dries out it'll be fine and it'll look great your next job interview (unless you sold it to make rent, then you won't get that job ) ...
Please remember that, to be correct, the Huawei Watch is not "water proof" but "water resistant".
The Huawei Watch has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, meaning that you can use it when washing your hands, cooking, washing your car, or when it is raining. However, the watch is not designed for swimming, diving, or prolonged submersion in water.

damn, that's to much of a risk.
I think for a sealed phone like this the most risk is the speakers.... I hope your speakers are functioning properly. I recommend doing a rice treatment just to be safe. Even if it looks okay for now, the moisture can sip in over time.

Most phones include a water damage sticker inside them, I think LP3 should also have one or two. Even if your phone works just fine, you might lose your warranty for future purposes, if those stickers get in touch of water.

Let's be realistic here, do you use your phone without a case at all? I don't, because it needs to be protected from scratches, bumps and fall (my daughter dropped it already 3.5 feet face down on cement floor).
The case was never designed to protect Le Pro 3 from water test like this but may have helped somehow because water will pass through case holes first before going into the phone itself.
I maybe crazy or careless but not wealthy LoL.

This is my first most-expensive phone I have bought. (I know some of you American/European guys might be laughing at me but living in a country where an 'honors post-grad' earns average 600$/month and being married, it is hard to actually dedicate half of my monthly salary for buying a phone). I don't regret buying it but I agree with your every bit.
Thank you for testing this phone's resilience and reliability for rainy weather. Although camera isn't top notch but it will work for a carry-around instant snapshot purpose. (My G3 still beats this phone in camera quality but I care less, I don't even use camera at all )

Hey guys,
today I dropped some beer over my Le Pro 3 and I instantly cleaned it (sucked out the liquid out of the charging port and speakers etc.)
But then I got a reboot from my phone, it says I'm out of battery (it got 40% at this moment)..
After reboot, my home button doesn't work anymore, no vibration, no interaction or something else..
I tried to dry it through put it in a bag of rice, but after 3 hours it doesn't changed the situation.
I'm now very desperately about this, do you guys got any tips for me?
Or should I just send it back through my reseller to LeEco for a retail?
Thank you for reading and replying to me!
Greetz
You could try the old trick of leaving your phone in a bag of rice over night to pull out all the moisture.
You can try to clean the usb c port, patiently and with care, with something very moist that can melt the sugars and absorb/remove all the beer residues on the contacts. Then dry out the area with the help of an hairdryer and try to turn on or reset your phone from recovery, if it starts! Good luck!

- Shake/Suck the water out
- Hair Blower for at least 15 mins
- Rice trick overnight
Good luck!
I decided to get completely waisted out of my head Friday night.
When I woke I had been sick all over my phone during the night.
There are now sick marks on the screen that I cannot remove with glass cleaner or scrubbing
Any ideas how they can be removed

If it makes you feel any better, I once dropped my Galaxy S6 in the toilet while I was going #2...
Use a mild disinfectant cleaner. Rubbing alcohol is probably the best option, do not wash your device with it, just use a dampened paper towel or cloth to wipe your device. Clorox or Lysol wipes might work too.
If any liquid got into the phone (like solvents such as alcohol) your screen may be damaged.
You vomited on your phone?
I be more worried about the enamel on your teeth.
Stomach acid does the same thing to it and unlike the display glass you can't replace it.
It may be possible to polish it out with cerium glass polish if not too close to the edges. This takes a certain skill set. If it's not too deep it's doable.
Maybe by hand if very limited...
Try using your the -dry- palm of your hand or finger tips. They are abrasive and can polish glass! I've done it before with camera front lens. It takes at least 30 minutes but it works.
Remember to go over as much of the whole surface as possible to keep it even. You didn't think this be easy did you?
Otherwise replace the glass... more lessons from the U of hard knocks.

Unfortunately I think he actually etched the glass with stomach acid. Or perhaps an optic top coating. Oops...

Eh...Doubtful. It's not just acidity in question, it's chemical makeup. Stomach acid is primarily hydrochloric acid, which while a strong acid (1-2 pH) doesn't react with glass, whereas hydrofluoric acid (3.27) does. Hexafluorosilicic acid is also used although I can't seem to find the pH level for that.

Tough school indeed. Got more than a few concussions there myself.

Well if the surface is etched, WYSIWYG.
It likely had an optical coating...

If you're gonna drink, don't overdo it.
If you're gonna overdo it, make sure you drink water and don't puke everywhere.
If you're gonna puke everywhere, don't do it on your phone.
If you're gonna do it on your phone...
Sorry OP, not helpful, I know. Hard to say what happened to your screen. Can't say I envy your hangover, but I'm sure we all have our stories...
Last time I get seriously wasted, it was New Years 2016. A friend of mine invited me to her friends' place. I had to be that idiot who got blackout drunk and ended up ugly crying and retching in the bathroom at 3am....

Women, I take the 5th.
Lol, I drank a fifth of Wild Turkey listening to Hendrix around 2008. Hear My Train A'coming was excellent.
I was so drunk I could barely crawl when I tried to get up. Couldn't make up the steps; even with my alcohol impaired judgment that was obvious (a rarity).
I tried 2 or 3 times but the bend in the staircase was impossible for me to maneuver. Due my low altitude no injuries were incurred.
So I ate carpet and went unconscious at the bottom of the steps. Woke up at 2pm the next day. Forgot to puke or die
Probably best to leave the expensive play toys alone when going nutz...
THANK YOU for not providing pictures!
