Going back from PAC KK to a JB ROM - HTC One X

Well guys, I installed PAC KK Rom some time ago, but I got tired of it, I mean it has some cool features, but my battery man, it's not for me. So, now I need to go back to a JB Rom, I saw that I needed a proper hboot or something like that, a JB Hboot, how do I install that? Or I could just flash a jb rom with gapps, and boot.img afterwards?

man... LP his here and want to go back to JB ? at least stay on KK lol... for me cyanogen KK has a nice battery time..

I haven't tried cm, I'll try it in a bit, I'm having a different issue now... When I switched to PAC I used hasoon2000 toolkit, but now it just wont work, I tried to send my phone to recovery from the toolkit and wasn't able to... I'm having issues with the drivers, I think I'm gonna have to use another computer for it... Anyways, thanks for the idea, I only need the toolkit to push the boot.img since I have no idea how to work with fastboot lol.

Custom roms with locked bootloaders

Hello everyone last week i got pissed at my arc s because of its stockness.Stock, kernel, rom, widges, slow ui,locked bootloader, not rooted etc etc etc.The i decied to unlock my bootloader, after few hours of research i found out that the only way to unlock it is the paid method i got pissed. Then i decied to install a custom rom and heres what i did"
Since i coudnt instal nor get into cwm i found this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5wdnkuQ1dNaW5zdGFsZXIiXQ..
i installed the program, rooted my phone with DoomLoards method(the one for ICS phones) and then downloaded to rom
What i did next is to download few rom and tested and here are the roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526717 , I did all of the steps with wiping data/cache atc when i installed all the roms, but just choosed the other archive file for the rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565475 < which im using now
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515148
Remmember that i cant get into cwm if i turn of the phone for some reason,so i run the xperia cwm program and got into it.After that just follow the steps given in the rom's topic "How to install" and thats it.
After 2 reboots my phone was running all of the listed rom which needed unlocked bootloader in order to be installed
I would love some1 else to test my method
To flash new kernal u need bootloder unlock so u cant change kernal in locked bootloader
Roms like
Cm7&9
N miui wont work
Ics base Rom may work
Well yes
im running them with stock kernel.Right now im using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565475 MuIU and it runs perfectly much better then the stock ICS i had before every with 80 100 free ram

Hi I would like to try what you have mentioned. However, I am currently still on the GB ROM. I have rooted my phone. I presume I need to flash to ICS first before trying your method.
Is there anyway I can flash a stock ICS ROM with a locked bootloader using flashtools? Stock ICS is not released for my region yet so I can't do it by the usual PC Companion way I think.
I dont think that u need to install stock ICS before using this "method".Try installing this https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5wdnkuQ1dNaW5zdGFsZXIiXQ and then do the steps said in the rom u want to install.I would suggest u to read very carefuly the tutorial provided by the rom's developer so u wont srew your phone like i did the 1st time aka dele cavik cache/farcroty reset etc etc.U can use the instructions from this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526717 .U can put any rom u want on the sd card but the steps before that got to be the same
So basically what you did was install a Stock Based ROM without install the kernel that ROM need right? And is working?
I have ROOT and ICS Stock, i already search and i was thinking to install a Stock Based ROM without ROM custom kernel but i was afraid
So seams you try it and work right?
Yes ive tried those 3 roms and they work with the stock kernel that my arc s comes with, they detect the phone as lt18i etc etc.Mind that if your bootloader is locked you probably wont be able to get into recovery vie the normal way aka press to volume keys up and down, thats why u need to install the xperia cwm program and reboot into recovery with it.If you do something wrong and your phone freezes at the xperia logo we can fix that(flashing the stick ICS with flashtool using flashmode (holding the back key)

I think you should install ICS first because those roms require baseband 70, that comes with ICS.
I cant confirm that my methot will work with GB since i did not try it

ME too have the same question
@gogobaba can you please try your method with JJ Hybrid ROM
2) KERNELS
a) Sirkay's ICS Kernel HERE (For Overclocking )
b) Arc Knight Kernel by jimbo77 HERE (for Overclocking)
OR
b) Stock ICS Beta Kernel with CWM HERE (thanks cobrato)
OR
c) DoomLord ICS kernel with Wifi Modules .
Sorry guys but i cant try it i dont have the time to reinstall my phone again and i dont have wifi or mobile internet for my programs to be downloaded again.
I have my doubts that this rom will work because of the kernels.Check b) its says stock ICS beta kernel i dont know if this is the stock kernel of the arc or its some other kernel.Ask in the rom's topic if u can install this rom with the stock kernel. If u can they you should be albe to install it.
Mind that i cant be held responsive if something goes wrong with your phone.I can verefy only the roms from the 1st post

[Q] how to flash stock rom via cwm

I have found a couple of optimized stock ROM images on xda and on BBS Gran too, but when I flash it using the cwm method I am always stuck on lg optimus lte logo.
Every cm ROM that I flashed using cwm works fine. I am experiencing this problem with only stock ROMs. Any help ?
Have you ever unbricked the phone? For some reason the stock roms all require you to have ran through the unbrick process at some point unless that has changed recently.

I have CWM and can flash custom Roms , i dont think i need to unbrick any further... or maybe I am mistaken ?
it depends when you bought your phone and what updates you have, if you have an old gingerbread p930 that hasn't been updated you might not have to unbrick, i think ics and later and even some gingerbread phones have reported secure bootloader that won't let you boot into cwm, if you can boot into cwm you are fine, if you get a fast boot and a few other warnings when you try to boot into cwm then you have to unbrick. i think it might be harder to unbrick a phone that is getting the errors already but im not sure, it might be the same, i got the error on mine and i was able to unbrick.

I'm kind of in the same boat. Well maybe not the same boat, but I'm in one next to you. I've got CM10.1 and I absolutely hate the battery life. I'd like to go back to stock. I'm not sure though if I have to go through the unbricking process or just use CWM to flash the stock rom onto it.

if you like battery life, use the rom in my sig, i get 9-40 hours on a battery depending on how much the screen is on.
the rom is based of stock at&t ICS with bloatware removed, a few extras added and a lightningfast wind 3.1 kernel preinstalled

I installed the wind kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119976 and set the governor to smartassv2 based on someones suggestion here and it made a big difference for me. The battery life in CM10.1 went from absolutely dreadful to at least acceptable. Not as good as CM9, but I can live with it for now.

It's possible that it isn't necessary now, but I know that it used to be impossible to flash the stock ics based roms until you had gone through the unbrick process one time. The first time I remember seeing it was in this thread for ho!no!'s rom based on the leaked ics. I know for a fact that even though I had CWM installed and was using CM9 I was not able to install ho!no!'s stock rom until I went through the unbrick process.
KronicSkillz and SeriousGeorge I'll definitely be looking into this. Thanks

[Q] Error Installing 4.2.2

first off, I'd like to give thanks to everyone on this fantastic site, it's been incredible reading tutorials on here and learning a whole lot of tricks. this here is my first thread and before I go off to look for those I owe *thanks to* I have a question am hoping I can get help with.
my HTC One (GSM) is unlocked, has a Custom Recovery (TWRP 2.3.3) and is rooted. I can install custom 4.0.. ROMS (currently running myONEv RC9.5 FX+ by ckpv5). I have however tried several times to install 4.2.2 ROMS that are on here but to no avail. with the little knowledge that I have gained after several attempts, I realise that the 4.2.2 ROMS are not flashing properly as they don't bring on a custom installer like the ROMS that are working.
can somebody please tell me why? should I update my recovery? or is there something I'm missing?
P.S, I can't seem to get a working 2.5.5 TWRP, at the developers website, their download always dies at 99.9%. ALWAYS
my phones details are as follows
PRIMOU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.16.0000
RADIO-3831.15.00.19_M
eMMC-boot

4.2.2 ROMS have some bugs so i suggest u try some other ROMS
however if u want 4.2.2 , u can always flash it and USE THE CORRECT KERNEL
BTW, 4.2 ROMS dont bring up a custom installer so its normal
if in ur recovery it says succesful then the rom is flashed properly but check if u have the appropriate kernel
You dont need to update recovery however it is best doing so; your current recovery is just fine
EDIT: use this kernel : http://www.mediafire.com/?y04jyyu2wk2fig3
well..

I want 4.2.2 so badly its eating me up . will settle for a 4.1.. if I don't get it right. it's just so darn pleasing seeing my ROM much much higher than all my friends..
thank you for that piece of knowledge about the 4.2.2 ROMS not having installers. I pretty much thought that was the problem. I have been successful in installing the zips but not once have I gotten past the HTC developer warning (recovery boot animation?). I have been using the kernels that are inside the zips, going to try to load PACMAN 4.2.2 with the kernel you just gave me.
one last question, why can't I see the thank you button? is there a number of times am supposed to post before I can use it? am on a PC so am supposed to see everything, right??

If your GSM, the latest PACman ROM has issues
u can boot it with the given kernel but u wont get any mobile data connection
if u must try a 4.2 rom then go for Paranoid Android 3
dunno abt the thank u button, didnt happened to me(PC)
maybe you're just signed off?
