Moto 360 Amazon Return - Cracked back - Moto 360

So I saw a small crack developing on my watch just after a month of use.
I have sent it back to Amazon and they have sent out a replacement.
I'm asking what are peoples experiences in having either return a moto 360 with a cracked back to Amazon or another vendor.
I have the leather band still applied.

There is a dedicated thread for this issue ....
How tight do you have your watch ?
How big is your wrist ?
Do you wear it high or low on the wrist ?
They ask these things in the thread ....for some it seems to happen repetedly

Broken camera glass cover ...

Hi,
This morning,I've noticed that my camera glass cover is smashed...still holds in place but is all cracked...have no idea how it happened as I never carry anything with my mobile in same pocket...
Went to carphonewarehouse to ask if it is covered by warranty, and surprise surprise they said NO and that it would be 140 to fix it lol....
Do you guys have any ideas if I could try to fix it by myself,or maybe I should try mailing HTC?? Maybe at the same time they could fix loose bottom cover...
Any advise ?
Thanks,
Lukas

If you are handy, you could probably make one out of perspex or a couple of laminated screen protectors.
Look at the disassembly thread for ideas and inspiration.
Ok,will look for this thread and see

Hi bastic,
Did you solve the problem? How did you repair the glass? Mine is broken too, is there a way to buy the glass as spare part and replace it by my self?
Thanx in advance!

Buy this Case...

It has a camera cover, just clean your camera glass cover and put this case... hope it helps...
OR.....

Parts For your HTC Desire HD... Just order the Back Housing... and just let an expert or repair tech piece back your phone.... hope this helps also...
Thanks for the links! So there is no way to replace only the glass
without open the whole phone? I bought the desire hd at amazon some weeks ago. Don't know what happens if I would send it back and claim bad quality of product. Perhaps I could get back the money and buy a new one... has someone experience with amazon in such cases?
Thank you for your help!

Amazon are a great company. 99% of their products are flawless. The 1% was when I ordered a psp (brand new of course) and it had 8 dead pixels (damn Sony). So my dad emailed Amazon (I was a kid then) and they sent a new one to us the next day. We returned the old one. Anyways, it depends on the situation. My dad has been buying stuff from Amazon for over 10 years, so he gets excellent service.
I wouldn't "bump them off" primarily because they're a good company. If you broke it yourself, just get it fixed. Bababa(4minute are awesome singers!) Back to topic
Order spare parts. If you think you can fix it yourself, do so. Otherwise pay a little £££ and watch the magic unfoldn Beware though, go to a respected repair shop. During my time on the HD2 foruma, I used to shudder when I read bone-chilling stories of how people's HD2s were sent back "repaired" with glue dripping all over the screen, and a crack job repair like something off craigslist. My advice: ask your friends!

Atrix backdoor cracking

I just noticed this after I took my Atrix out if its case, but it's cracked where pressure is put on the corners when taking it off. ):
Anyone else having this problem? Any idea what to do to seal the crack? Or do I have to buy a new backdoor? I just got my Atrix like 3 months ago.

Mine is doing the same thing. I don't think many things can fix it, considering you keep flexing, bending and cracking the plastic every time you have to take off the cover for a battery pull. Just be cautious when you take the cover off, don't forcefully rip it off.
like already said, just be careful while taking it off. you can find a new one here:
http://cnn.cn/shop/motorola-mb860-atrix-black-battery-cover-p-11668.html
Thanks guys. Another quick question, does the replacement cover come with the mesh part that goes over the speaker? Or would I have to take that out from my old cover and stick it on the new one?
Contact Motorola and use the online chat function. I had the same problem and they had one shipped and to my home in 3 days. No charge.
Worthy of a Thanks? Lol.

DUDE. Yes. Thank you. I shall do that right now. I didn't even think to do that.
The Motorola solution is by far cheaper. But just to let you know the CNN.cn. website one is basically a factory part. Even has the stickers on it. I got it and the housing for $22 FROM THERE

New 'stone' leather bands are shipping from Motorola

There's been some discussion about this buried in other threads, but today I received my Moto 360 which I'd ordered from Motorola.com on 9/16, and I can confirm that the band is the third, newer color, which Motorola had said would take the place of the gray leather.
I'd previously seen both a gray and a black strap on the Best Buy display units, so off the bat visually I can tell this is the new color. Additionally, and interestingly, the underside of the packaging has a [hastily torn off the thermal printer] sticker, which is laid OVER another sticker underneath, and it's quite clear the original sticker said "GREY LEATHER" and the new sticker says "STONE LEATHER".
I'd describe the color of the band as kind of a purplish gray actually. I definitely prefer the original gray if I had a choice, but this'll do until it gets replaced.

I got mine yesterday and it's with the new color. I just thought the gray just looked different in the pictures but I didn't realize that they actually changed it. My wife noticed the purplish tint to it. Thanks for explaining.

Does it have a suede finish like the grey band does? I didnt realize that Moto was selling the 'new' color; I actually like the grey band better.

Not suede, its a fairly smooth grain on top. The inside has a very slight softness, like suede, to it. I felt like the gray band felt softer to me, but could be because it was handled to death at best buy... It was very worn in.

Yes, the grey band is soft & has a suede finish to it. Since I returned my grey moto 360 to BB due to it malfunctioning, I ordered a 'replacement' from Moto on 9/16 but thought I was ordering the same band. Sucks. Time to see if I can find one to buy.
Fossil has a couple of great looking 22mm leather bands for under $25 with free return shipping if it doesn't fit or you don't like it, so I'll probably get a sturdier band anyway.

Could you please confirm me that the the Model ID for the Stone Leather Moto360 is 00583NARTL? It's written on the sticker you mention, on the back of the box.
The question is due because on my local forum no one would believe me that there are three variants of Moto360 currently being sold. None of the Youtube reviewers seem to be aware of this as well. But the funniest stuff is that when on Motorola's site you select the Stone leather Moto360 you get the wrong picture of the watch (with a dark gray band). Three days ago I contacted Motorola's help chat to mention this and to suggest they change the image back to the one they used a week ago, but the guy at the help desk (named Aaron) didn't know which watch Motorola was selling and told me "we will verify the site". Three days have pased, the wrong picture is still there...
Anyways, for those of you who want to see the difference between the three straps, please find below the images with all three Moto360's available today.

As of this morning Bestbuy.com now has 3 Moto 360's listed...
Black Leather 00418NARTL
Gray Leather 00419NARTL
Stone Leather 00583NARTL

tempted to buy but...

I'm really tempted to buy the moto 360 but MWC is just around the corner. Should I hold out for the second generation? Anyone know when itl be released? Wanted some advice from current owners. Is there anything you feel the first gen is severely lacking which might be in the second generation. Battery isn't an issue for me as I'll happily charge everyday. Anybodu used it with a nexus 5? What is the perofrmace like? Any problems with it disconnecting?.
Any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated.
OK so I've decided I'm going to buy a second hand moto 360.
Anything in particular I need to look out for apart from general wear?

Look out for? As in things that can go wrong? Oddly enough I am on my 3rd Moto 360. The first one had a dead pixel and didnt play nice with any other Qi charger aside from the Moto one. The second one, 2 dead pixels, and yep I returned both. Sure a dead pixel isnt a HUGE deal, but on a 250.00 watch that had this issue right out of the box, I didnt agree with that. Not to mention that once I seen the single or double dead ones, I knew they were there and my eyes constantly gravitated to it! . Oddly enough, both of these were gray banded and silver watch. After waiting a few months, I decided to pick up a black one (Yay tax returns!) , and not 1 single dead pixel, and my old wireless charging mat actually works fine
So check for dead pixels and the infamous cracked back that people are reporting on theirs (which I think would come from using a different band thats not made for the 360)

Thanks for your insight! I have a 1 dead pixel on my 40 inch TV and because I know its there its probably one of the most annoying things!
I will be checking the moto 360 out later on today. It is the black one and comes with both a leather and metal strap. He currently has the metal strap fitted. Are the cracks easy to see or will i need a magnifying glass?! Are there any reports of the vibration motor not working correctly or any thing regarding software which I should check before buying?

I havent heard much about the motor crapping out and as for the cracks, just search google since they seem to vary in size. But also as I mentioned, they "seem" to stem from the use of 3rd party watch bands. I just got the official 360 black metal band to go with my black watch, and seeing how Motorola included these little plastic tabs that fit into the slots to fill in the gaps, I can see how aftermarket straps could possibly damage it.
FYI, if the metal strap that comes with the watch is the one for the Pebble watch, be prepared to have any and all hairs on your wrist ripped out!

Need a new band

Hi fellow forum members. I've had my moto 360 1st generation for 2 years now. I noticed yesterday that my leather band is splitting apart. The watch still works fine, so I'd hate to shell out $200 for a new watch. Back when I first purchased the watch Motorola sold official "dodo" leather straps on their site, but it seems that they're no longer available. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement band that won't break the bank? Thanks
Amazon or eBay maybe they have them

You should have looked at the other posts in this sub-forum; about 1/3 of them already discuss 3rd party watch bands for the Moto 360.
