[Q] No Earpiece Sounds on Calls, Ideas? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, as of a couple of days ago I'm getting no sound in my earpiece when I make or receive calls. There is also what seems to be a crossed-out waveform icon on the dialer screen as shown in the screenshot below. I never use headphones, and I've cleaned out the headphone socket. My music player plays through the speaker fine, and when I fished out some headphones the music plays through them fine, and back to the speaker when the headphones are unplugged. I've powered down the phone, removed the battery and rebooted.
Any ideas what else I can try, or does someone recognise the circled icon on the screenshot and know how to remove it?
Many thanks in advance, Warren

Hello, i think the icon is not the problem, if i recall right its a noise reduction or volume boost for calls not a bug or anything like that.. try to clean reflash your ROM and see if the problem is still there.. Make a backup first so in case nothing change you can revert easely

Its a Hardware Problem Buddy And that Sign is For turning the Noise reduction On and Off...

[Q] LG 730 headset music problems

I just got a LG 730 Tone+ headset to go with my Epic 4g Touch. It pairs fine and using it for calls works great. However, music playback is a problem. When I try to listen to music over the headset it will play for about 9 seconds and then the music app locks up. I have tried Cloudskipper, Google Play Music, and the built in music app, all do the same thing. I've tried stock, rooted stock, and 3 or 4 custom ROMS and all do the same thing. I even returned the first headset I got and the replacement pair does the same thing. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there some sort of Bluetooth incompatibility? I had a Samsung HM-1700 that would stream music fine. However, I lost it and I was hoping this LG would work just as well.
Is it A2DP (two earpieces) or Mono (one earpiece)? If it's Mono, download Mono Bluetooth Router from the Play Store and you should be good to go.

It's two earpieces. The Samsung one I had before was mono and it worked great.

Sorry, I don't have any experience with A2DP

[FIX] Buzzing noise when playing music while charging

Hey All,
I had just recently bought a Sirus receiver for my car and came to realize that it had that same annoying high pitched buzzing sound that my phone has when it is plugged into a car charger when I am listening to music. I searched for a couple hours, bought 3 different aux cables, and couldn't seem to figure out what the problem was. Then somewhere, not sure where, I read that car cigarette lighters do not have a noise filter in them (whatever that means). The absence of this is causes what is called ground loop noise feedback. In that same post the poster suggested that all you need to do is find a ground loop noise filter to fix the issue. So after I did a quick Google search and Amazon came back with a few different hits. I read the reviews and ultimately decided to purchase a product by the name of "Kensington Noise-Reducing Aux Cable". Below is a picture of the cable.

I was a little nervous at first because I just didn't see how a little box with a chip inside of it could filter out that awful noise without reducing the overall sound quality. To my surprise it worked and the sound quality is just as amazing as it always was!!!!!!! I kid you not when I say that stupid high pitched buzzing sound has been staring as the antagonist in many of my nightmares over recent years. No matter what phone, car, or cable I had, that buzzing noise was always there. Now thanks to this little gem it will forever be a memory of a bad dream.
Google the name of the product to alleviate all of your woes with those charging noises. I promise you won't be disappointed with the results. If you do purchase the product please take a moment and let other members know what you experiences are.
Hopefully this helps you all!!!

[Bluetooth Headset] Hands-free not working in Windows 10

Hi all,
I recently bought the new Huawei Freebuds 3i. They are really nice and work pretty good with Android.
In Windows the problems start to happen. As far as I understood every headset with a microphone has a Stereo device and a Hands-Free device. The first is for multimedia such as YouTube, music and so on. The second one is for voice calls, or apps like Discord/TS. While the stereo works fine, the hands-free doesn't. In Microsoft Teams, and all the other apps, I configured audio IN/OUT to use the Hands-Free device, like this:

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What happens is:
Insert earphones;
Start the call;
For the first 2 minutes the call is perfect. I can both hear and speak;
After these 2 minutes the IN audio doesn't work anymore. The mic will still continue working and the other people will continue hearing me, but I can't hear them.
When I go on the sound panel I see that the sound is playing, but I can't hear it through my earphones!
It's like something goes in conflict in the earphones and they stop speaking. I have tried lots of setting but none of them worked. By now the only way to use the earphones is to use them with an external microphone (like my gaming headset's ones) and it will work. But obviously I would like to use them with the integrated ones.
Has somebody had this issue and solved it?
Thanks in advance folks.
EDIT: I have now just tried disabling all the other audio sources, keeping only the Hands-Free device. It still gives the problem. After some minutes the sound just stops, although the audio seems going on. And obviously, having only this device as output, I cannot hear any sound from the PC, neither YT or Windows sounds.

Sound distortion noticed it on calls when using the loud speaker.

Hello. When talking the loudspeaker (not every time) there is such a strange clicking sound and a little crackling, and passes after a while. Today I observed, but it is related to the update to Android 10. The problem does not occur when listening to music. It is only in the process of talking in speaker mode, so this is probably not the fault of the equipment. When I bought the phone there was no problem. Then a dozen updates jumped in and during conversations on the speaker some crackling, gurgling, snapping. When the speaker mode is turned off, the call quality is OK (no glitches). When listening to music, it is also OK. I read on the web and a lot of people noted a similar problem. I would like advice.

MIUI Global 11.0.3
Stable 11.0.3.0(QGGEUXM)
Android 10 QP1A. 190711.020
same issue, and also i'm on the same build. my workaround is when the speaker is on (while on a call) just turn it off and then on (just double tap it) and the problem disappears, at least in my case.
I use hands free, speaker mode 95% of the time and i have had no problems at all and the audio is clear, though i am in a quiet location most of the time or i would not use the speaker.

have you had this problem from the beginning of having a telephone? I had a problem after the update. That's why I hope that some update will fix it.

How many microphones does it have? (making a deaf device)

Hello!
Does anybody know how many internal microphone modules does Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 have?
I want to make it a deaf (and blind) device (for security and privacy reasons) since I only use it as a device for playing music on external speakers and not for calls and recording.
I have removed one microphone module at the bottom (where the hole for speaking is). It looks like this:

Could there be still another one? I know some newer smartphones have few microphones to be able to block surrounding sounds while calling.
If i try to record video with Open Camera app (fdroid), I could choose audio input, and with each option selected, there is no sound in recordings - only small noise (like hum, murmur). Is there any app with which I can find it out?
Thank you!
