I just bought a rooted galaxy s3 on virgin mobile, but now that its rooted I can nt activate it on the virgin website, it well accept the esn then but I can't update the profile or the phone # as well as the min # (voicemail #). I am unable to get into the programming since its rooted the only code that works is *#06# for the esn #. Please take into account I've never rooted a phone before thats why I bought one already done, im hoping someone out there can help me without having to go back to factory I have attached a picture below of my phones software if that helps.
I thank you all in advance

Your problem is not that it out rooted, it's that it is running CyanogenMOD. Thus the dialer codes do not work, nor does it have a prl/profile update option. One easy fix since you have a custom ROM, which also means you have a custom recovery, is to flash a TouchWiz ROM such as WickedS5 or WickedX or even stock (rooted) to gain your dialer codes and prl/profile update options. Backup in your custom recovery to your external SD card, wipe, flash TouchWiz ROM. Once your activated just restore your backup of CyanogenMOD

I had a similar issue when I tried to flash Dirty Unicorns over CM11 and subsequently bricked my Virgin S3. I had to flash it to a Boost mobile stock ROM then to Sprint before it would regain signal.

You may need to enter your network information. Your rom may not be set up to enter that information automatically. Check your apn settings and make sure they are right for your network.

And use Odin 3.07(the one we should be using), not 1.85.
Also, check to see if your imei number is correct (open a dialer, *#06#)
Hello, I have a quick question for you guys that I want to verify before I do so. I am giving my brother my GNex (Verizon) and have unlocked the bootloader/rooted the GNex. My question is, since I will be transferring this phone over to him and would need to speak to a Verizon tech, Do I just reset the GNex back to the original build #? I re-locked the phone and bootloader completly using Nexus RootTool Kit. Now I am running Android Version 4.0.4 with Build Number IMM76K. I had tried to transfer it last night but the tech ended up telling me that I compromised the phone by rooting it and he could not transfer it since the Gnex was trying to pick up Sprints network and not Verizons...Although I had relocked it before calling them, I do not believe I did so with he original stock build number and Android version. Am I safe now to try and call to do the swap again? Any info will be appreciated, thanks!

They probably put notes on your account that you rooted the phone. Hopefully you played dumb on the phone and the rep didnt note the account - but even if they know you are rooted it shouldnt affect activation, just your warranty.
Im not sure how the toolkit does it, I just use ADB and Fastboot and I pushed the image over manually, relocking the bootloader after. The most recent image is for 4.1.1 Jellybean...so if you are magically on an old software they may think something is fishy.

Yeah I actually have the GNex with the system update software to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ready to be installed and will just install it right now but I hope I am good to go after the install which is the latest image. I hope I am not flagged but I don't see why they can't rety now and transfer the GNex to my brothers account...thanks for the help!
Hello community, I have looked for the stock Samsung s3 I747 AT&T firmware. I have found it but its a download from Hotfile, which has been shut down. I was wondering if the android forums could provide me with the Stock firmware? I plan on using Odin3 in installing the firmware. This is why I am wanting to do this, it appears I am stuck on edge network. I have manually set the phone to use 4g and 3g it still reverts back to edge. This occurred after I updated to 4.3, so my plan is to install stock firmware and re-do the 4.3 update maybe something went wrong somewhere during the update. If you have other suggestions other than trying to install the initial stock firmware, I am open to anything.

You'll have to have a look in development. Since you already took the 4.3 update, you can no longer "start with stock and redo the update". You will hard brick. AT&T was not nice enough to provide an ODIN flashable 4.3 rom. In development or general is a custom recovery flashable ROM that should help you out, but that is assuming you have a rooted and custom recovery phone. If not, there should be someone along to help.

Re-installing the stock update probably wouldn't help me anyhow. This phone has had a IMEI repair, assuming this is the problem now.
The phone, after a re-boot will do 4g, well at least it shows the 4g emblem, then shortly after it will go to edge. Some people I talked to said it could be a weak antenna or some other hardware issue. I think it has to do with the IMEI repair! Well I guess this phone is garbage, its a shame, it looks brand new, my fault for going the craigslist route
When you say IMEI repair, you mean the IMEI was injected into the phone using NV writer?

Yes. I did not do this myself.
However, I did find another program well actually two programs, QCN Generator and DanX which I created a back up and injected the IMEI number into my back up QCN bin myself. With no luck I am still a 2g AT&T user.
I am thinking that the original QCN back up (the initial) was corrupted or something.
Is there anyway to rebuild a QCN? lets say, someone has a back up of a Sammy g3, and I injected my IMEI to a spare QCN. Does that make any sense? sorry still learning, I have learned this with in 24hrs, I am a Xbox 360 Rooter, not an android guru.
I bought the phone from craigslist, which was a bad idea in the first place. So I am now stuck with this paper weight, I have managed to get this phone in at least a working state. I wish to get 3 or 4g back on the phone. I can re-boot it will show 4g with 3 bars then will drop to one and go back up to 3 bars, then drop to 2,1 then it will then automatically switch to edge. I know this is a 4g area, maybe not LTE, but 4g. I have changed APN settings, also manually set the phone to GSM and WCMDA, Still working on it.
First of all I have searched for hours on end trying to figure out how to get my Note 2 working again. Some necessary background information, it is an unmodified Sprint Note 2 running 4.4.2. I have never rooted the device or attempted any kind of modification. Apparently the device was attempting a system update and it shut off. It turned itself back on and from there it lost signal and was unable to make calls. Sprint was not helpful at all when I took it to the repair center. They basically told me to go through insurance which for $150 is not worth it for a refurbished Note 2.
I discovered that the phone lost its IMEI, baseband, PRL and all other related nv information. I have tried numerous times to read the phone with NV items reader writer and EFS professional however neither program worked since the phone is not rooted. I really need to get this phone working asap as I have lost many work opportunities due to not being able to receive calls.
I have absolutely no interest in flashing custom roms, modems/radios. I want to keep the phone as close to stock as possible. I dont mind rooting the phone if that will help me restore the IMEI data. Every thread I have read related to losing the IMEI have been related to flashing custom roms and other modifications which is not the case here. I have no tried to use odin yet to restore the phone if possible that way. I have tried to use the skipsoft unified toolkit but it seems it does not support the 4.4.2 firmware yet so there is no way for me to install a clean stock rom with that.
If there is anyway for me to recover/replace/restore my IMEI information without flashing a stock rom that is the route I would like to go.
Would rooting the phone and using nv items reader writer tool to edit the IMEI be all that is necessary to work?

I don't know how you can fix your phone yourself, but if it was me I'd be flipping out at your sprint store. I'm not a "Sprint-basher" (love my phone, love my service) but you have an un-modified phone that went to hell on a OTA. if I screw up my phone that's my fault. But, in your case it was sprint's phone and sprint's OTA that caused the problem. Personally, I'd harass the crap out of them...

The post above yours on that thread suggested a factory reset. Did you try that?

Because you have an international carrier, you probably need to check with them for an update.
But on the thread that I linked to, other people took the Marshmallow update, then did a factory reset and got their service back.
I can't help you more than that since I live in the US.
