My watch or phone has suddenly decide it will not message or make calls, my phone is a Galaxy S4, I have not installed anything on either device to change the status quo and yet every call or message request is answered by try again on your phone , the phone itself works fine, I have restarted both devices, any ideas?
You could try unpairing then repairing the watch from both devices . if not reset
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Tried that after I posted, reset watch, but not phone, resetting the phone would be a last resort. I'm going to try it with another device Tomorrow so I can identify which device is the problem.
Same problem here
I have Nexus 4 with KitKat and Moto 360 with 5.0.1 and have the same problem. It started today. Tried clock reset android wear and Google Now reinstall, none of which helped.
I don't know if this is any help but on mine if I restart the phone I found I could text again from the watch, I would try to initiate a call and then I would get the error again, back to send a text and same problem.....BUT....if I restart the phone and only use the watch to send texts then it's fine, not a full fix I know but I'm hoping the update from 4.4.2 will fix it, just odd that it started overnight, everything was fine Friday??
Also, it won't register on my watch when a call is incoming on the phone.
Same issue here, though I am trying to use the "Note to self" feature: moto360 with a droid turbo, no lollipop yet.
Doesn't work even after a phone reboot, nor after getting Google Now setup. Anyone make progress on this?
Just got my 360, linked to an Oppo Find 7 (4.3). Having a lot of these "try again on your phone errors". Couple times it has worked, but often it doesnt.
Does the error signify a bluetooth link error or what?
Not Moto 360 but LG W Watch R...
.. with the same issue from today so this might no be a Moto Issue.
I took a screen shot of the watch, see attachment
The phone and watch are connected according to the companion and I do get notifications and cards on the watch
I've reset the watch an repaired, didn't work.
Restarted he phone as suggested by majreaper, didn't work
Phone: Xperia Z2, Android 4.4.4
Lg Watch R: Wear 5.0.1
My issue is solved
I have solved by downgrading Google Now app to version 3.6. Now I can initiate call and send texts from Moto 360 5.0.1 again. Using it with Nexus 4 KitKat 4.4.4.
What I did:
1. Go to setting > appplications > all
2. Find Google app
3. Uninstall updates
4. Get 3.6 version apk from apkmirror. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-3-6-16-1614640-arm-apk/
5. Install it.
You might want to disable autoupdates for Google app for now. It can be done in Play Market.
That fixed it for me, thanks samfromlv!
The above works for me at least.
I just tried the above suggestion and un-installed the google app update although I didn't install the link shown. I just downloaded the latest from the play store (as an update) and it solved the issues I was having (again at least for now). So worth a shot for anyone having this issue. Was tearing my hair out over this

UPDATE: It just started working correctly about a half hour after doing all this. If you will tell me how to delete this thread, I will, I cannot find a delete button anywhere.
Hello everyone,
I have scoured the internet and this forum but have not seen anyone else with a similar problem. I like to think I'm pretty tech savvy, but I could just not be using the damn thing correctly. I just purchased a Moto 360, and I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. All my OS are up to date. I have Motorola Connect and the Android Wear app installed. I still cannot get 3rd party apps to appear on my watch. I contacted Motorola and they suggested clearing my system cache (which I didn't think would help but did anyway).
I found a thread on here about the new watch faces not appearing, so I followed the instructions there to completely reset my watch and phone so that everything was back to default. I've reset the watch back to factory, I removed all Android Wear apps from my phone, I even removed AdBlock Plus and everything related to the Samsung Fit that I had just in case they were causing problems. I then reinstalled the Motorola Connect and Android Wear apps, and had the Android Wear look for the watch as a new device.
I still cannot get any apps to appear on the watch, and I bought this specifically so I could use Viper's new SmartsStart 4.0 app when they release it.
Am I just doing something wrong, is it defective, or is there something else?
Thanks in advance.

Don't delete! I just got a Moto360 and have the same problem. Thank you for putting the UPDATE, I'll wait awhile and see if the 3rd apps I downloaded transfer to the watch. I've already tried to sync it and I've tried restarting the watch.
Just got this watch. I had the Moto 360 before, it worked fine.
This doesn't want to stay connected. I have to reset the watch, uninstall Android Wear and re-install it, then it'll connect once. After that, it disconnects and won't connect again. So notifications, syncing, weather, etc don't work.
Looking at my phone in Android Wear it just says Connecting.... on the watch, it says disconnected. Going into Bluetooth settings doesn't do a damn thing either.
Try Bluetooth Auto Connect from Playstore, it´s working for me on a Note3 with Omega Rom
Thanks for the reply. I managed to sort it out... I missed the step to click "trust device" during the initial set up. I didn't realize that was a necessary step for the watch to stay connected. You'd think it'd just do it automatically.
I don´t know, if it´s automatic, but i have the function with klicking on "trust device", no change, only the "Blutetoot Auto Connect" app is working.
This piece of crap is doing it again. Once its been disconnected, it won't connect again without complelety startinh over and resetting everything.
I'll check out that app.
You know, people can bash apple all they want, but at least their **** actually works properly.
Hasn't happened in a while, but if mine won't connect I just go to the android wear app and disconnect the Zenwatch then connect again. Works every time...
Tried that, many times.. never works. That app doesn't work either.
Well this is a serious problem I've had the watch for about six weeks now it took awhile to get initial set up to begin with I was at the point to return it on the first day , then I don't know how but it just paired and started working fine , I was very happy until today turned the watch on it wasn't paired and I've literally been trying for hours to get this chit to connect with no luck I've reset it ,tried the app mentioned above no luck at this point I give up I bough it at best buy but I'm past the return period I'm going to try and find some customer service rep ,at this point I give up trying to get the watch to work,if anyone knows of a customer service phone number I would greatly appreciate it , or if anyone here has any helpful information , ,I'm pretty tech wavy. But I surrender at this point what a shame I really liked the watch but the aggravation factor is to much ,sorry for the.long rant but there's no where else to vent or look for help maybe together as a group we can find some answers again any help would be greatly appreciated......

Thank's for replying but yes I've tried everything under the sun , just got home from work , going to see if I can't find a customer service number , if I can't get it resolved by the weekend I might as well throw 200$ in the Trash because That's where it's Going ....................:crying:
Go to settings / apps on your phone. Find google play services under running apps. See if device connection service is running. If not try rebooting your phone then the watch in that order and try to pair. You could also check if there is an update for play services and update if there is.

Same issue here, boxing up my ZenWatch and bringing it back to Best Buy today. Still within the 15 days. I really like the watch but these random disconnects are a killer. Most of the time it auto-reconnects but every now and then I have to reboot everything--which is kinda ridiculous if I'm out running.
At least I'll have a different watch with everything else the same for comparison sake and report back.
Have you tried uninstalling zenwatch manager? Mine started disconnecting after the last update, and uninstalling seems to have fixed my issue

I had the same problem I think the update from google services broke it.
unpair the watch from your phone then factory reset the watch and this is IMPORTANT pair your watch using "android wear" NOT the Bluetooth from the system phone
after I paired my watch using Android Wear now the watch stay connected and reconnect normally

After half a day working this seems to be the solution, thanks. :good:
Bad luck: two days later same problem persists (frequently disconnecting)
I am getting pretty tired of my Zenwatch not staying connected either. $200 is a lot of money for a watch that doesn't work right. It's had three or four updates since I bought it and it still sucks, should have sent it back the first week.
The Google nag to enable Google Now in the Android Wear screen is also a sore spot with me, if I wanted it enabled it would be enabled.
This whole "wearables" thing seems to be a poorly executed fad more than anything else, one that I'll be avoiding from here on out.
why would you have a watch that relies so heavily on google now and not enable it? connection has been just fine for me no several phones and software versions since I got it in January

Same here. I mean, it has disconnected maybe 3 times since I got it in November, but it hasn't been a big issue. Toggling BT on the phone reconnected it. I also agree with you about Google Now. It's central to how Wear works. Using a Wear device without Now would be like buying a car and trying to drive it without starting the engine.

You don't need Google now to benefit from owning this watch.
1. I like the ability to change watch faces and create my own with Watchmaker.
2. I can answer or dismiss a call from the watch.
3. Text and email notifications.
That's all I care about, anything else is an unnecessary distraction.
Just got a moto 360 in today and I cannot get it to update android wear. I've done everything I can think of. Rebooting it, resetting it, letting it sit, I've cleared app cache on Android wear and even uninstalled it.. I don't know what else to do. It gets to about 25% complete everytime and then it disconnects from my phone and says "unfortunately Google services has stopped working". And in order to get it to let me reattempt the download I have to reset my device completely. Anyone else have any thoughts??
Exact same thing has been happening to me! I just got the Moto 360 yesterday.
Help would be much appreciated.
I'm thinking about just returning it and waiting for the second gen to come out..

Look at the reviews of the Android Wear app. Many, many people seem to be having this problem with the latest update. I think I'll just wait it out until the app fixes these issues.
I just got my replacement Moto 360 today and had this problem. I thought Motorola sent me a defective replacement and was frustrated as hell for a couple hours lol. I was able to solve it by using a previous version of Android Wear app (I had a titanium backup saved from the end of June) and I was able to update the watch normally again. I reset the watch after restoring the old version of the app then checked for updates and this time it downloaded the entire thing and updated then after updating I updated the app to the newest version and all is well!

I just bought my Moto 360 all excited to get my Android Fanboyism to the next level.
The first thing I did was try to update my Android Wear version.
And This is when I start getting the error..
It keeps saying google play services crashed.
google apps crashed..
Someone help..
I Can Help!!!
I can help you guys out. Just three days ago I bought my moto 360 at your SW version and had this EXACT issue. Here is how I fixed it.
First off, do yourself a favor and delete the lastest version of Android Wear on your phone. While you're at it, be sure to get rid of Moto Connect as well if you have installed it. Basically, what is happening, is android wear 4.4 doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of Android Wear for Phones, so as your phone is attempting to update your watch from 4.4 to 5.1.1, it throws this error.
Step two, disconnect your Moto 360 from your phone in the Android wear menu on your phone. Factory reset your Moto 360.
Step three, go to Here on your phone and download that APK to a location you can find it. This is an older version of android wear.
Step four, install this APK. Reboot your phone for good measure, and connect your Moto to your phone using the version of Android wear on your phone. MAKE SURE TO NOT ALLOW ANDROID WEAR ON YOUR PHONE TO UPDATE IN THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE.
Step Five, once everything is connected, on YOUR WATCH, go to settings --> about --> software updates. This step takes a LONG TIME, around 10-20 minutes, and your watch must be over 80% to complete this. When it finishes (the green circle wraps all the way around the X) it will ask if you want to upgrade. Tell it yes. When the watch finishes and reboot, FACTORY RESET IT AGAIN.
Step Six, With the watch reset, remove android wear from your phone, and do a fresh install on the play store. Now connect your phone to your watch. You should no longer have any issues. Your watch is now running Wear 5.1.1 and your phone is running the latest AW App. Go ahead, install Motorola connect and any other apps you want to have, and most importantly, ENJOY YOUR NEW WATCH!
To any mods out there watching, I'd recommend sticking this post or something. This is an error that is going to come up a LOT until google figures out why that happens. To my knowledge, this is the ONLY way to get a 4.4w2 Moto 360 running on the latest android wear release.

[POSSIBLE FIX] Disable Google Fit app on Moto 360. Working so far...
Thanks to several users on google support and reddit
I received my OTA update for Android Wear 1.4 this morning.
Running a Moto 360 V2 and a stock Nexus 6 with MRA48N.
Now my watch keeps giving Google Play Services has stopped working error on screen.
I've tried factory reset and older version of Android Wear... Nothing works.
PLEASE HELP
Same issue here. I tried the old fix of unpairing, deleting Android Wear from phone and installing and older APK. Factory reset watch and ran through the set up...all seemed to work fine until the Android Wear app updated, then back to same issue.

I did this as well with the same results hope they come out with a fix soon.
Same issue here, hope google fix it quick
I had brougth my moto 360 v2 two days ago
I fixed it here is what I did
Uninstall Android Wear make sure to clear data and cache first
Download the previous APK http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...-wear-1-4-0-2392391-gms-android-apk-download/ and install
Factory reset watch and pair
A pain in the neck but it worked just dont update to the newer version till they get it right.
Nope that didn't do it either error came back after about 15 minutes.
Same Problem here with Moto 360 2nd Gen
I am also experiencing the same issue on my Moto 360 2nd Gen.
I have an open ticket with Google.... I was told this has been escalated to their Advanced support team.... still waiting for updates.
I have wiped cache within Google play services and downgraded to stock Google play services.. re-updated.. Wiped and cleared cache of Android wear and installed previous versions.. still same errors:
Moto 360 2nd Gen
Android Wear:1.3.0.2230669
Android OS: 5.1.1
Build: LLA44S
Google Play Services: 8.1.07 (2229520-534)
Errors:
-Google Play Services error Unknown issue with Google Play Services
-Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped.
Phone:
LG G4 running Android 5.1
I had this issue with my v2 today and I uninstalled google fit and it solved the issue. Did this before I knew it was a known issue to lol.

I found a solution, worked for me with moto 360 v2 and stock Galaxy S6
-Unpair watch from android wear app
-Factory reset watch
-Unistall Android wear (data and cache clead first)
-Clear data and cache from Google Play Services
-Reboot phone
-Fresh install Android Wear APP from google play store
-Pair the watch
Rock Solid :good:
I was able to resolve the issue by unpairing the watch from Android wear on my phone, Factory Resetting the Watch and then pairing it up to a Nexus 7 Tablet running Android 6.0 and the latest version of Android Wear. The watch synched to the tablet, was able to receive notifications. Once i confirmed there was no more "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped error", i then unpaired from the Tablet Android Wear, Factory reset the watch and re-paired to the same original phone running the latest Android Wear.
It has been almost 9 Hours since this was completed and this appears to have resolved the issue for me.

This worked for me too. It appears to be Google's recommended path... and I've yet to have it let me down. On my fifth (ugh, don't ask) Android Wear watch... this basic strategy has (painstakenly) worked each time. Especially when I get a watch that has been in cold storage, and still has Android Wear 1.0W on it.
My watch disconnects whenever i install any wear enhanced app / watchface. I have to restart the watch to reconnect it. It happens on installing any app/face! Plz help.
PS: tried reseting the watch and the phone too. I have it paired to a Moto X2014 running 5.1 stock unrooted.
its end of januari 2016 and still have the same problems. I read people who factory reset and install the wear app back and its fixed. but its not. if the watch gets disconnected a few times for being to far away from Phone then after a while whatsapp messages stop working to show up. I also get the message that i need to installe google play services. on my Phone. wich is installed and on latest version...
Only thin working right now is using the android wear app 1.1 wich works perfectly. But in the play store the update keeps popping up so i need to watch out that i dont press update all. because then it will be reinstalling the latest version wich is a *****.
Cant wait until 1.5 is released.... hope it will be fixed then.
is there a way to report this to google or Motorola somehow. everyone seems to have the same issue here. why isnt this fixed sooner?
Since i upgraded my s7 to Nougat, my Smartwatch 3 has failed to stay connected to the phone. Most of the time it refuses to connect at all.
Ive googled for days now, trying all of the usual stuff including clearing the bluetooth cache and wiping the system cache, unpairing the watch, safe mode, forgetting the watch and repairing, removing android wear.
The setup starts working and then during the sync stage, i start getting the bluetooth share has failed message several times although most apps seem to sync eg watchmaker pro and strava.
My question is should the Smartwatch 3 still work correctly with my phone even though the phone is on Android 7.0 and the phone is on 6.0?
Thanks
Andy
My SW3 works great with my HTC 10 running Nougat.
Have you tried doing a factory reset on the watch?
That was going to be my last resort!
Think I may be there though
Thanks,
Andy
Just completed a full reset. Paired first time but crashed several times with bluetooth share has failed.
Failed to complete and no longer connects
I'm also on 7.0 and no problem at all. Maybe is something wrong with your BT from S7, unfortunately I have to tell you to try try factory on the phone, if you can't find out. Samsung for me have strange way of using there BT connections maybe this is why.
Hope I'm not starting any flame but.... that's why I'm on HTC (and not only), Samsung (S4 and S5) phone several times have blocked my car BT system...

Thanks for the feedback. I have done a factory reset and it made no difference, but maybe it is a Samsung issue as nobody with an S7 has indicated they are using an SW3 with nougat.

I'm having same issues. Updated S7 edge to Nougat last week and everything running fine until SW3 ceased connecting today. Tried everything other than factory reset on phone and cannot get connection to SW3.
Mine has started working after a month of failing.
It's been connected for a couple of days without any disconnections.
The latest attempt was no different to any others.....
I switched off the watch, wiped the system cache, restarted the phone and watch and lt connected.
I left it alone as apps started to sync and there were some bluetooth share has stopped messages but everything works!
try this:

If you use in the phone the option "deep kill all apps" in recen menus... you will have sync problem... It happend me with my op3...
I have similar problem with my S7. It works fine with bt connection as long as i connect the watch over wifi. Then no more bt connection is established, only wifi. Turning off wifi makes the watch permanently offline.
Very annoying as my watch can't sync when outside my wifi range.
Any solution so far?
