[POSSIBLE FIX] Disable Google Fit app on Moto 360. Working so far...
Thanks to several users on google support and reddit
I received my OTA update for Android Wear 1.4 this morning.
Running a Moto 360 V2 and a stock Nexus 6 with MRA48N.
Now my watch keeps giving Google Play Services has stopped working error on screen.
I've tried factory reset and older version of Android Wear... Nothing works.
PLEASE HELP
Same issue here. I tried the old fix of unpairing, deleting Android Wear from phone and installing and older APK. Factory reset watch and ran through the set up...all seemed to work fine until the Android Wear app updated, then back to same issue.

I did this as well with the same results hope they come out with a fix soon.
Same issue here, hope google fix it quick
I had brougth my moto 360 v2 two days ago
I fixed it here is what I did
Uninstall Android Wear make sure to clear data and cache first
Download the previous APK http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...-wear-1-4-0-2392391-gms-android-apk-download/ and install
Factory reset watch and pair
A pain in the neck but it worked just dont update to the newer version till they get it right.
Nope that didn't do it either error came back after about 15 minutes.
Same Problem here with Moto 360 2nd Gen
I am also experiencing the same issue on my Moto 360 2nd Gen.
I have an open ticket with Google.... I was told this has been escalated to their Advanced support team.... still waiting for updates.
I have wiped cache within Google play services and downgraded to stock Google play services.. re-updated.. Wiped and cleared cache of Android wear and installed previous versions.. still same errors:
Moto 360 2nd Gen
Android Wear:1.3.0.2230669
Android OS: 5.1.1
Build: LLA44S
Google Play Services: 8.1.07 (2229520-534)
Errors:
-Google Play Services error Unknown issue with Google Play Services
-Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped.
Phone:
LG G4 running Android 5.1
I had this issue with my v2 today and I uninstalled google fit and it solved the issue. Did this before I knew it was a known issue to lol.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I found a solution, worked for me with moto 360 v2 and stock Galaxy S6
-Unpair watch from android wear app
-Factory reset watch
-Unistall Android wear (data and cache clead first)
-Clear data and cache from Google Play Services
-Reboot phone
-Fresh install Android Wear APP from google play store
-Pair the watch
Rock Solid :good:
I was able to resolve the issue by unpairing the watch from Android wear on my phone, Factory Resetting the Watch and then pairing it up to a Nexus 7 Tablet running Android 6.0 and the latest version of Android Wear. The watch synched to the tablet, was able to receive notifications. Once i confirmed there was no more "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped error", i then unpaired from the Tablet Android Wear, Factory reset the watch and re-paired to the same original phone running the latest Android Wear.
It has been almost 9 Hours since this was completed and this appears to have resolved the issue for me.

This worked for me too. It appears to be Google's recommended path... and I've yet to have it let me down. On my fifth (ugh, don't ask) Android Wear watch... this basic strategy has (painstakenly) worked each time. Especially when I get a watch that has been in cold storage, and still has Android Wear 1.0W on it.
My watch disconnects whenever i install any wear enhanced app / watchface. I have to restart the watch to reconnect it. It happens on installing any app/face! Plz help.
PS: tried reseting the watch and the phone too. I have it paired to a Moto X2014 running 5.1 stock unrooted.
its end of januari 2016 and still have the same problems. I read people who factory reset and install the wear app back and its fixed. but its not. if the watch gets disconnected a few times for being to far away from Phone then after a while whatsapp messages stop working to show up. I also get the message that i need to installe google play services. on my Phone. wich is installed and on latest version...
Only thin working right now is using the android wear app 1.1 wich works perfectly. But in the play store the update keeps popping up so i need to watch out that i dont press update all. because then it will be reinstalling the latest version wich is a *****.
Cant wait until 1.5 is released.... hope it will be fixed then.
is there a way to report this to google or Motorola somehow. everyone seems to have the same issue here. why isnt this fixed sooner?

My watch or phone has suddenly decide it will not message or make calls, my phone is a Galaxy S4, I have not installed anything on either device to change the status quo and yet every call or message request is answered by try again on your phone , the phone itself works fine, I have restarted both devices, any ideas?
You could try unpairing then repairing the watch from both devices . if not reset
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
Tried that after I posted, reset watch, but not phone, resetting the phone would be a last resort. I'm going to try it with another device Tomorrow so I can identify which device is the problem.
Same problem here
I have Nexus 4 with KitKat and Moto 360 with 5.0.1 and have the same problem. It started today. Tried clock reset android wear and Google Now reinstall, none of which helped.
I don't know if this is any help but on mine if I restart the phone I found I could text again from the watch, I would try to initiate a call and then I would get the error again, back to send a text and same problem.....BUT....if I restart the phone and only use the watch to send texts then it's fine, not a full fix I know but I'm hoping the update from 4.4.2 will fix it, just odd that it started overnight, everything was fine Friday??
Also, it won't register on my watch when a call is incoming on the phone.
Same issue here, though I am trying to use the "Note to self" feature: moto360 with a droid turbo, no lollipop yet.
Doesn't work even after a phone reboot, nor after getting Google Now setup. Anyone make progress on this?
Just got my 360, linked to an Oppo Find 7 (4.3). Having a lot of these "try again on your phone errors". Couple times it has worked, but often it doesnt.
Does the error signify a bluetooth link error or what?
Not Moto 360 but LG W Watch R...
.. with the same issue from today so this might no be a Moto Issue.
I took a screen shot of the watch, see attachment
The phone and watch are connected according to the companion and I do get notifications and cards on the watch
I've reset the watch an repaired, didn't work.
Restarted he phone as suggested by majreaper, didn't work
Phone: Xperia Z2, Android 4.4.4
Lg Watch R: Wear 5.0.1
My issue is solved
I have solved by downgrading Google Now app to version 3.6. Now I can initiate call and send texts from Moto 360 5.0.1 again. Using it with Nexus 4 KitKat 4.4.4.
What I did:
1. Go to setting > appplications > all
2. Find Google app
3. Uninstall updates
4. Get 3.6 version apk from apkmirror. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-search/google-search-3-6-16-1614640-arm-apk/
5. Install it.
You might want to disable autoupdates for Google app for now. It can be done in Play Market.
That fixed it for me, thanks samfromlv!
The above works for me at least.
I just tried the above suggestion and un-installed the google app update although I didn't install the link shown. I just downloaded the latest from the play store (as an update) and it solved the issues I was having (again at least for now). So worth a shot for anyone having this issue. Was tearing my hair out over this
Hello everyone, I'm new. Forgive my English.
This morning I'm going to turn on the phone and Moto 360, and noted that the notification is vanished from the drop-down menu that shows me they are connected or not to the Moto 360. To find out, now I'm forced to open Android Wear.
Moto 360 firm: 5.0.2
Android Wear: last in playstore
Moto Connect: same android wear
Note 4 N910U firm.....4.4.4 -.-
Anyone can help me please? Thanks!
I have exactly the same problem since today morning. I use Sony Z3 running lollipop.

Update: it looks like this is by design by latest Google play services update to version 7.3.
What your seeing is the new results of Google Play services being updated to 7.3.29 I believe. With this new update, if your Android Wear Connected Devices are connected and working fine, the notification auto hides itself. It is though suppose to pop back up when there is a problem between sync and devices but I have not seen it do that.
With the older Google Play Services such as 7.0.99 the notification was always there with no way of hiding it or turning it off.
The new Google Play Services was suppose to prepare phones to be able to work with the new features coming to Android Wear and firmware updates to the moto 360 and other smart watches.
Also there was a bug in the older Google Play Services keeping it always on and a connection always running due to it trying itself to look for OTA's through Google Servers I assume for GPE editions of phones and watches. I think now from watching over the new version on my Verizon Note 3 that it is now fixed and is the last thing always running in the battery rundown list. Before the update and with the older version it was the first in the list for draining battery on Lollipop!
Just as an update to my earlier post, the newer newest android wear is up live on the Google Play store. It has the sync to cloud option so that you can use WiFi mode on smart watch.
Only issue now is we still are waiting for new firmware to enable it on the Moto 360.
Thanks for the answers.
Wait for the new version then, as to me it is not yet appeared.
Thanks for the help!
Well, on my Z3 the notification does not appeared when watch was disconnected.
Has anyone been successful with pairing an android wear watch with the fire phone?
I've been trying for the last 2-3 days with a moto 360 and have had no luck.
The device see's each other, but doesn't stay connected. The watch will state that it's disconnected from a phone.
I've also tried using a friends phone that will pair with the device, install beelink on the watch, and attempted to pair it with the fire phone. When I open the app, the watch see's the phone and attempts to pair, but I get the error "Incorrect password or pin".
Edit:
It's been 24 hours straight and it's stayed connected.
So far this works for me
My Android Wear is 10.4.1611133
My Google services is 7.0.99
My Playstore is 4.6.17
What doesn't work for me:
Google Hangouts
Gmail
I can use the play store to download apps without services updating.
Gmail and google hangouts both updated my services and caused a headache, I just stopped using both.
Wear messenger works like a charm.
-Aeris Weather Wear does not seem to work.
This is the thread I have been waiting for. Hopefully someone will have a solution for you... Been dying to buy a 360 but don't want to have to buy a phone on top of it...
Sorry I am no help with knowledge but helping with emotional support...
So... Did you happen to ever get it to work? No one else has chimed in, which is scary.
Thanks
T.

it was just a OTA-Update. I have a german device. Before it was 3.6.6. Sorry buddy i dont have a workaround for you
Ok, the problem with 4.6.1 is, that apparently some apps will auto-update your google play services to 7.9.3. (maybe the play store itself initiated the auto update)
I installed fleksy and after that the play service made an update. So i deinstalled the play services and installed the version 7.0.99 again.
But the moto360 couldn't connect to my fire phone again. so i had to reset the moto360 and i re-installed android wear 1-0-5-1785466.
It works again, but i bet, if the play services will update itself again, i have to repeat all the steps again.

I'm in the same boat as you.
Right now I'm limited to what I can do because if google play services updates, it becomes an annoyance.
Right now I've gone 24 hours without an issue. But I haven't opened my play store because I don't want it to update my google services.
My Android Wear is 10.4.1611133
My Google services is 7.0.99
My Playstore is 4.6.17 (Even though I try not to open it)
So far it seems to work.
If you can figure out a version of hangouts that will not update services, I'd love you forever.
This worked for me (after upgraded to 4.6.1):
Android Wear: 1.1.1.1889093
Google Account Manager: 4.4.2-940549
Google App (Now): 4.5.13.19.am
Google Play Service: 7.3.29 (1866531-036)
Google Play Store: 5.4.12
Google Service Framework: 4.4.2-940549
InstaWeather: 1.4.3.9
On Moto 360, I got all notifications
works like a charm
Hi guys, first off all you need the 4.6.1 US version ending in 820 and with that update all the problems will be fixed. This fix all the google problems and runs smooth with all the latest updated google apps and services.
The android wear works great and the moto 360 is awesome and responding better then on my Samsung phone
Just got a moto 360 in today and I cannot get it to update android wear. I've done everything I can think of. Rebooting it, resetting it, letting it sit, I've cleared app cache on Android wear and even uninstalled it.. I don't know what else to do. It gets to about 25% complete everytime and then it disconnects from my phone and says "unfortunately Google services has stopped working". And in order to get it to let me reattempt the download I have to reset my device completely. Anyone else have any thoughts??
Exact same thing has been happening to me! I just got the Moto 360 yesterday.
Help would be much appreciated.
I'm thinking about just returning it and waiting for the second gen to come out..

Look at the reviews of the Android Wear app. Many, many people seem to be having this problem with the latest update. I think I'll just wait it out until the app fixes these issues.
I just got my replacement Moto 360 today and had this problem. I thought Motorola sent me a defective replacement and was frustrated as hell for a couple hours lol. I was able to solve it by using a previous version of Android Wear app (I had a titanium backup saved from the end of June) and I was able to update the watch normally again. I reset the watch after restoring the old version of the app then checked for updates and this time it downloaded the entire thing and updated then after updating I updated the app to the newest version and all is well!

google apps crashed..
Someone help..
I Can Help!!!
I can help you guys out. Just three days ago I bought my moto 360 at your SW version and had this EXACT issue. Here is how I fixed it.
First off, do yourself a favor and delete the lastest version of Android Wear on your phone. While you're at it, be sure to get rid of Moto Connect as well if you have installed it. Basically, what is happening, is android wear 4.4 doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of Android Wear for Phones, so as your phone is attempting to update your watch from 4.4 to 5.1.1, it throws this error.
Step two, disconnect your Moto 360 from your phone in the Android wear menu on your phone. Factory reset your Moto 360.
Step three, go to Here on your phone and download that APK to a location you can find it. This is an older version of android wear.
Step four, install this APK. Reboot your phone for good measure, and connect your Moto to your phone using the version of Android wear on your phone. MAKE SURE TO NOT ALLOW ANDROID WEAR ON YOUR PHONE TO UPDATE IN THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE.
Step Five, once everything is connected, on YOUR WATCH, go to settings --> about --> software updates. This step takes a LONG TIME, around 10-20 minutes, and your watch must be over 80% to complete this. When it finishes (the green circle wraps all the way around the X) it will ask if you want to upgrade. Tell it yes. When the watch finishes and reboot, FACTORY RESET IT AGAIN.
Step Six, With the watch reset, remove android wear from your phone, and do a fresh install on the play store. Now connect your phone to your watch. You should no longer have any issues. Your watch is now running Wear 5.1.1 and your phone is running the latest AW App. Go ahead, install Motorola connect and any other apps you want to have, and most importantly, ENJOY YOUR NEW WATCH!
To any mods out there watching, I'd recommend sticking this post or something. This is an error that is going to come up a LOT until google figures out why that happens. To my knowledge, this is the ONLY way to get a 4.4w2 Moto 360 running on the latest android wear release.

I am using a galaxy s6 and whenever I click to open Maps on my watch, I get a notice that says "Update Android Wear- Maps won't run unless you update Android Wear app". I've tried to remove and reinstall it on my phone, but keep getting the same error. I've also tried to reset my watch to factory default. Neither fix the problem. Has anyone else seen this? BTW- I also have problems opening keep.

On your watch go to Settings > About > Versions and what versions of Google Play Services and Android does it show? Also what build number are you running?
I suspect Google Play Services isn't updating correctly on the watch when installing the Android Wear app on your phone.

Best ask in the Gen 2 forum...this one is for the Gen 1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-360-2015
I had this problem as well, at least for me, maps wouldn't start using "ok Google" or the Google search app, so I started the maps app manually on the watch using the app list menu (took a while to scroll to "m"), started navigation, and after that point "ok Google, navigate ..." started working, I have a galaxy s5 and a moto 360 2nd gen.
Same message, whether I do "where is London" from ok Google, or trying to open the Maps app manually.
