[Q] - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I plug my Earbuds into my Note 4, Sound only comes out of one ear. I tried 2 different set of Earbuds & had the same Results. Then I tried Both sets of Earbuds in my Tab 4 & my Wife's Note 4 & Sound came out of Both Earbuds from Both the Tab 4 & the Note 4. This tells me that the Earbuds are fine & something is Wrong with my Note 4. Does Anyone have ANY IDEA where to Start with trying to fix this Problem??? I do not want to send the Note 4 back (Warranty) I would like to Fix the Problem if that is Possible. Any Ideas? Thanks Jason

Do you have a case on your note 4 that maybe the jack is not getting ample connection just a thought

Settings > Accessibility > Hearing > check out the sound balance to make sure it's in the middle and see if the mono audio box is checked

[Q] Mono audio?

What are my options for getting mono audio output on this device? On my Galaxy S I was used to have Voodoo. The reason asking is that I am singled sided deaf. I already rooted my phone.
Cheers,
Bloesum .
There is an option in setting can change stereo to mono under accessibility
Accidentally sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2
Briljant! I haven't browsed all options in the settings menu. I would have expected it in the sound section though. But thanks again!

[Q] Earphone problem with ringtone/notification

My earphone and the official note 2 earphones both work when it comes to media such as music and videos/movies and including taking calls but however when I receive a notification sound and ringtone song/sound while my earphone is plugged in, the sounds come from my note 2 instead of the earphones.
Anyone else having this problem? and any solutions?
(I have a Sim Free, non rooted and latest updates for the note 2) (Purchased from UK)
Thanks in advance

[Q] Music to mono bluetooth head piece.

Hi All, loving my note 2. I used to be able to stream audio using Super BT Mono Froyo Free using my old Motorola Triumph phone, but that app now crashes when I try to run it. I'm assuming because it doesn't work with Andriod 4.1. Any other options out there for using a single ear piece bluetooth to listen to music, or more specifically podcasts on the note 2?
Thanks!

Sorry, found my own answer. BTmono works great, and works with note 2 for anyone wondering. Working with my old Motorola H715.
When I had this sound routing problem with my Droid X I used "Sound Route Switcher Bluetooth" app by omercade. I tried this app with Galaxy Note 2 with no problems. But right now, knock on wood, I don't have any sound routing problems with my Galaxy Note 2, including music to my mono Bluetooth. My Bluetooth device is Plantronics Voyager PRO HD. I am using Plantronics MyHeadset app as well, but I don't believe that you will need that app.
What gets me worried is that I have been reading throughout the Galaxy Note 2 forums that people having sound routing issues within weeks after getting their Galaxy Note 2. This could be just a few flawed devices within their large manufacturing production. But I do wonder.
Guys, I'm not really sure I'm reading the question correctly, but if I am, I want you to know there is an option built right in to TouchWiz for music listeners using mono bluetooth. It's enough to make me stick with Samsung FOREVER. Check the accessibility options, hearing. No more stupid work around, finally!

[Q] No audio out to earphones or external speakers

Just got myself a Galaxy Note 8.0 (WIFI) for about 2 weeks. Everything was working well until I need to watch a movie on the plane. Then realized I got no audio on the earphones. The earphones used is not the ones that comes with the Note 8.0. It was the ones from my Note 2.
But I don't think the problem lies with the earphones. Anyway I tried again with an external speakers. Again no audio.
The audio out on the built-in speakers are good.
I am using the default video player. And Android 4.2.2. Upgraded when I first booted up the machine.
Tried going through the system sound settings and software (video player) settings. But nothing works.
And when I plug in the earphones or speakers, the message "something" connected is shown in the status bar.
So is it because the input jack is not working or something else? Hate to bring it back to the service center cos it will be one month later when I get back to Singapore. Now I am in China.
Any help will be much appreciated.

No sound from earpiece in calls

So disappointed. I thought I'd lucked out. No display issues or anything. However, just this evening I went to make a call and couldn't hear the caller via the earpiece. Doesn't matter incoming or outgoing, speakerphone works fine, but no sound from earpiece. Worse yet, the sound for videos or music plays fine out the earpiece so it isn't blown.
I am thinking of cutting my losses quick and exchanging it for a Note 8.
Known issue and there is probably nothing wrong with your phone.
Go to the phone app - Settings - Accessibility - turn off the hearing aid toggle. You will then have sound through the earpiece.

Thank you. This worked. I know I didn't activate that feature, so I was unprepared for sure. Weird stuff.

Are you sure you're looking in settings for the phone app? It's not in general settings.
I still have the problem, and the hearing aid toggle is off. I hear through speakerphone, but nothing through the earpiece.
I'm having this issue too, except I get no audio from the earpiece or speakerphone on incoming calls only. I've tried changing settings in the phone app settings with no luck.
5 Google pixel 2 xl's later
I've been sent 5 pixel 2 xl's so far due to loss of sound from earpiece. Last 2 I didn't download apps and had sound for over a month on the 1st of those 2 then out of the blue no sound. I've tracked every app, only downloaded 3, connected to all blue tooths, 3, and had sound for a month. Then dead. I have the same apps and same phone as my partner. He's had zero problems. There's no hearing aid toggle on the pixel 2 xl SSO that's not it. Can't imagine 5 bad phones were saved just for me with the same problem. Any ideas. I'm having to switch servers etc just to get a phone with a good camera. I'd like to stay with Google but I have to be able to talk on the almost $1000 phone, lol. Any new phones with camera as good as this?

Well, if a software/settings issue isn't phone it might be similar to what I think my issue is. I have a loose ground connection in my car that I can't find that causes the car speakers to wine while driving. I play music and calls through the audio headphone jack in the car. Yesterday there was a blip in the car's electronics while listening to music and my music stopped. Now, today, my phone still rings but earpiece doesn't work and neither does playing music in car, on speaker phone., or through headphones but Bluetooth still works. SO if you did like me and hooked up your phone to something sketchy via headphone jack, we my have blown an audio driver.

So on the Pixel 2 XL I had the same problem. First day and it was great until it upgraded to 8.1. Then I had no sound through earpiece on calls. If you open the phone app and go to the three dots in the top right corner there is a list of options. Settings is the third option down. Tap settings and you get a new set of options. Accessibility is the seventh option down. Tap accessibility an there are only two options. The second one is Hearing Aids.
