Im already on .157 and rooted with same process and already installed dual recovery also. Is it safe to flash/install deodex patch directly from recovery??? or should follow whole process?
will the ftf file work without deodex patch and can it be used to upgrade from .108?
thanks
Hey i flashed and did everything here and the rom works sort of. I can't get to load google play or no xposed mods shows up in the downloads section for me. I can browse with chrome as normal and stuff. Anyone knows why?

Very useful post, nice to have all the information in one place. I had a lot of trouble with this and I didn't understand what I was doing wrong but it turns out I was flashing the WRONG rom. Make sure the ROM you download in step 3 is called "LT26w (Xperia acro S)_6.1.A.2.55_Version" and is ONLY 11MB. I was flashing a ROM that was 400MB so when I rebooted my phone I lost CWM and root.
When I flashed the correct ROM, my phone restarted and I still had CWM. I then proceeded with installing the zip file through CWM and it worked! This only takes less than 5 minutes (if you're doing it correctly) and when your phone restarts you should still have all of your data (if you didn't wipe).
Hope this solves the problem of people losing CWM when they flash the ROM - press thanks if I helped!
P.S. you will have both Superuser and Supersu if you followed the method in the OP. If you want to keep SuperSU you can go to System/App and delete the superuser.apk. If you want to keep Superuser you can open the SuperSU app and go to settings and there is a place to switch SU apps, or you can uninstall the SuperSU app from your phone completely.

Thank to you for all the detail.
I did pass the steps, and get a CWM-installed Stock 2.55, but couldn't have root access.
But after I install the Superuser.zip from Recovery, everything works fine.
So, if you could not get root access, after reboot, you could back to Recovery and install the Superuser again.
For Superuser.zip, you could find in below thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34530853&postcount=1074
Thank you guys for the additional information, I'm glad these steps worked. :victory:

Firstly, make sure you are in 15.4.A.0.23 and above.
1. Head over to this site. Download the latest build for Nicki.
2. Extract boot.img from the downloaded zip and flash in fastboot.
3. Wipe /data and /cache through CWM.
4. Put the CM11 zip in any storage then flash it in CWM.
5. (Optional) Download GApps from here. Make sure it's for 4.4.4. Then flash it in CWM.
If you are having root permission problems, download the latest SuperSU flashable zip from here then flash it in CWM. Disable the default Superuser app (it can be found in Developer Options by tapping the Build Number 7 times) in CM11 and untick the box in SuperSU that states "Respect CM root settings."
That's it. Hope I helped.

Hi all,
I've recently updated my stock FW from KitKat (.157) to Lollipop (.242) by flashing zipable files created by PRFcreator containing the FTF, SuperSU (version 2.46) and dualrecovery from Nut (version 2.8.12). I clean wiped the phone before flashing.
Now I noticed my stock Xperia camera app (front and back) isn't working. When I pushed the shutter button no picture is taken (even though I have plenty of space in my internal and external SD card). The autofocus function isn't working either. This is strange because in KitKat or when I flashed the FTF directly from Flashtool (so it's unrooted), I recalled the camera worked just OK.
Here's a list of what I've tried to fix the camera problem:
1. Clean data from stock camera app.
2. Installed another camera app.
3. Re-wiped the phone then re-flashed the flashable zip containing the Lollipop FW
4. Re-created flashable zip with PRF (but this time it's a signed zip)
5. Flashing the zip file using Philz Touch and TWRP
But still the problem remains.
What is the problem and how can I fix this?
Thanks.
Same here :/
I've upgraded from KitKat (stock, branded) to Lollipop (downloaded by XperiFirm and flashed by FlashTool).
Everything works fine, but the camera app just won't work (both front and back, also auto-focus is not working, just like said @komedol, it looks like the app freezes when it's trying to save a file).
I've tried to do a reset and even reflash. All in vain. What's strange even apps from Google Store cannot take any photos.
I really need to fix camera :/
any help from you, guys? :/
PS. My Lollipop ROM is not rooted, but I've unlocked bootloader before flashing a new ROM.

I tried this method just now and it works (rooted with working autofocus for both front and rear camera).
1. Download older FW of Z1C. I downloaded the FTF of FW 14.2.A.1.114 from http://xperiafirmware.com/8-firmware/46-sony-xperia-z1-compact-d5503
2. Download or create pre-rooted flashable file of latest lollipop file then put in external SD card
3. Download FTF file of the latest lollipop (I used the same FTF for creating PRF file and for flashing the FTF via Flashtool)
4. Flash the older FW of Z1C using Flashtool. I check all option from "Wipe" and don't check any option from "Exclude" in the Flashtool
5. Root the FW using Easyroot then install Nut's latest dual recovery using installer
6. Reboot into recovery/TWRP then flash the PRF zip file located in external SD card
7. After flashing the PRF file, clear cache/dalvik and turn off the phone. Do not switch on
8. While keeping the phone off, start Flashtool then select the lollipop FTF file
9. Uncheck all options from "Wipe"
10. Under "Exclude", check the PARTITION,TA and SYSTEM
11. Click flash button, while pressing the volume down button connect USB cable to Z1C
12. After flashing finished, disconnect the cable and start the phone
I mostly followed the guide from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/stock-d6502-23-1-0-726-complete-guide-t3085893.
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem upgrading from Jelly bean to Lollipop using TWRP, everything worked except the camera and autofocus.
My solution was upgrade where you first flash zip from TWRP and then, without powering the phone on, you flash ftf with flash tool - like in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/general/mod-14-5-0-242-pre-rooted-xzdualrecovery-t3081109?nocache=1

I have same issue, camera works in JellyBean?(14.2.A.1.114), but after upgrading to Lolipop 14.6.A.1.236, camera and autofocus wont work ;(, when i try to take a picture app freezes, and doesn't take a picture.
Sadly this happens even with STOCK flashed 14.6.A.1.236, with Flashtool or EMMA.
following method result in bootloop ;(

Since flashtool layout changed, i checked boxes as in attached picture, rest of the steps are exactly the same...
Can someone help? Why would camera not work with unrooted STOCK 14.6.A.1.236 flashed via EMMA or Flashtool. I have unlocker bootloader.
edit: I'm getting pretty sad, already 8 hours flashing roms in different configs, and nothing helps
edit2: After whole day trying im happy to report my camera finally seems to work!
I've downloaded few different firmware versions via XperiFirm and what worked for me was:
1. downloading in XperiFirm and clean flashing 14.4.A.0.157 firmware
2. tried EasyRoot but it didnt work so i've installed NUT dual recovery in non root version (option 3 in installer)
3. downloading 14.6.A.1.236 firmware (i dont know if it makes a difference but "3 UK" worked for me)
4. created pre-rooted-zip with PRF Creator with 14.6.A.1.236 firmware
5. put flashable zip on sd card
6. reboot into recovery and without wiping anything in recovery, flashed pre-rooted-zip i just put on the card
Even those steps were similar to original instruction, and the rest was indentical
7. After flashing the PRF file, clear cache/dalvik and turn off the phone. Do not switch on
8. While keeping the phone off, start Flashtool then select the lollipop FTF file(I used same 3UK version as I udes to make PRF )
9. Uncheck all options from "Wipe"
10. Under "Exclude", check the PARTITION,TA and SYSTEM

I meant the Super SU apk may not be updated through Playstore, Patched kernel working with TWRP & SU, tested with my Z3+ (single)
Thanks for this kernel. Have now been able to flash latest .11 firmware. Only issue, which isn't a biggie, is bootloop with Luckypatcher. Don't really need it anymore but liked playing with it. Might try with your kernel that just includes TWRP and install supersu separately. Apart from that all is working better than previous version. Better battery and way less heat.
Thanks again. And your English is fine!
