as discribed in the title for some reason the cinema mode keeps turning on for no reason no idea why Does anyone know why this might be?
For reference It is paired to a GPE HTC One M8 running 4.4.3 (Rooted with s-off) with both andriod wear and moto connect apps installed
Your probably pressing the button twice quickly ....wich turns on theatre mode

As titled, anyone else?
I am surprised tht all the other reboot problem is from overheat because my desire doesn't get hot at all...
As for my desire, not rooted, definitly not caused by apps because i specifically tried to use the stock rom (unbranded) and it still exist...
It happens when i start up camera, te screen will turn black and if i press power button quickly enough, it will turn screen off as usual, when is unlocked, it will go back to the home screen. If i leave the black screen for a second or not, it will reboot my phone (soft reboot)
Problem only occurs sometimes, no symptoms that show if the camera will cause reboot or not.

My HTC Desire is bootlooping for no reason. I was watching a movie, and suddenly, it shutdown, and when I tried to switch it back on, the HTC Quietly Brilliant appears, then phone shotdowns and restarts. This keeps on happening. I haven't touched anything software-wise, I swear it is still intact... Please someone help me....
Boot into hboot (turn phone off, then turn back on using volume down and power). Post what it says there here.

I have the htc one m8 and connected the moto 360 to it 2 days ago, and have noticed that now the htc one m8's phone screen will turn on every 30 seconds or so. I'd reach down in my pocket and the phones screen would be on. has this happened to anyone else? ive tried greenifying and disabling google now, connect, and the android wear app, but my phones screen still keeps turning on.

Did you disable all the phones gestures? The m8 has a double tap to wake one that isn't pocket friendly.
ive only noticed this happen to me once. phone was on the table and the screen lit up for no apparent reason on my M8. Idk if coincidence or from moto360
It happened on my note 2.. Whenever I installed a step counter app like noom
Uninstalled it.. No issues.. Check for wakelocks

My new HTC 10 (bought from HTC UK) is completely dead it seems. I've not tried to unlock or anything and it's a standard HTC supplied model.
The phone had just powered off completely via black screen with no input from me whilst inserting the phone into a car holder. Possibly the side buttons were pressed but in any case it powered off via a screen with small text at the bottom 1/3 of the screen. I didn't get a chance to see the text.
Now it seems that no combination (that I have tried) of button presses will power-up the device - not even boot to recovery (volume-down and power button). If I do attempt to boot to recovery then the 2 capacitive buttons either side of the home button flash on then off about 2 times per second. When plugged into the supplied HTC charger the charge light does not show!
I am about to call HTC UK - I have had it less than one week. Any advice would be most welcome as my brand new HTC 10 has failed on me .
Plug the phone to a wall socket and keep the power button pressed until the buttons stop blinking (10-15 seconds maybe?). Phone should vibrate and boot again.

:good: :victory: - Thank you. That did the trick and it's now booted up again and all looks so far OK.
Have you any idea what may have happened and caused it to go to this state where it would not (normally) power-up? Just keen to know what might have happened and more about this situation? Could I have a fault? I ask because I contacted HTC and they may replace the phone as it was logged as DoA.
Many thanks.
I don't think anything serious happened. The phone was just frozen. It wasn't turned off. You just needed a cold reboot and that's it. Hard to say why it froze though. I'm no hardware expert .
If you feel like that, you could try replacing it, but in my opinion the device is okay.
The phone is still working fine so I'll be keeping. I'm very impressed with this phone, but miss a few of the HTC apps such as the Gallery.

You can always download the HTC apps from the Play Store.

Most of the legacy apps (gallery, music, sense input etc) all show up as incompatible when I check the store for them. Apk mirror on the other hand has them all for download.
