Desire Bootlooping - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My HTC Desire is bootlooping for no reason. I was watching a movie, and suddenly, it shutdown, and when I tried to switch it back on, the HTC Quietly Brilliant appears, then phone shotdowns and restarts. This keeps on happening. I haven't touched anything software-wise, I swear it is still intact... Please someone help me....

Boot into hboot (turn phone off, then turn back on using volume down and power). Post what it says there here.

Camera causes reboot?

As titled, anyone else?
I am surprised tht all the other reboot problem is from overheat because my desire doesn't get hot at all...
As for my desire, not rooted, definitly not caused by apps because i specifically tried to use the stock rom (unbranded) and it still exist...
It happens when i start up camera, te screen will turn black and if i press power button quickly enough, it will turn screen off as usual, when is unlocked, it will go back to the home screen. If i leave the black screen for a second or not, it will reboot my phone (soft reboot)
Problem only occurs sometimes, no symptoms that show if the camera will cause reboot or not.

[Q] Screen Not Showing Anything

Hi guys today my phone's screen I think just died. I turn it on and then the screen lights up (like its still black but it gets brighter), the phone vibrates and then loads. The thing though is that it also loaded up android and everything. I can tell because I wait for a while and then put my phone to sleep, then I wake it again and since I have no password on my phone I just slide to unlock it. It vibrates showing that I unlocked it so the touchscreen still works. Can anyone help?
Loose cable in screen? U rooted or anythin? Return for repair if you can.

im not sure if this counts as a brick but......
a friend of mine droped off this phone to see if i could get it to work. I've donw some reading around but havent found anything. When i press the power button, nothing happend. but when i wait like 10-15 min, the htc logo comes up, and the phone vibrates, thats it. it keeps vibrating untill i take out the battery, or if you leave it, it stops maybe anotheer 15 min later, but then the screen goes black, and i cant do anything. ive tried getting into the boot menu by using the hold power, volume down method, but doesnt happen.
Hi,
I have exactly the same issue.
My phone came shipped with 2.3.5 from the factory, I tried downgrading to froyo to get root access and then recovery.
Unfortunately after my phone got the issue what you are having right now i found out this warnning mentioned in this thread (HERE)
Can any one help in this or advise what is the problem and how to resolve.
Regards
I don't know if any if this was attempted on the phone. But I would very money that someone tried doing this or tried routing it incorrectly and this is the result

My Desire does not boot

Hello,
I have a rooted HTC Desire. Everything worked fine, till I started to use custom-Roms with ICS-android.
After this my phone rebooted in random intervals. So I changed to an other ICS-rom. It still happend.
Sometimes the whole phone turns off, responds to no button, till I put the battery out and back in.
I tried to recalibrate the battery after this guid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9583271&postcount=340. It never worked but since yesterday evening the phone is off and does not boot.
Even after loading it the whole night.
To mention is, that the red-loading-led is not flashing.
Currently I am using the spaze-dog-rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1813744.
I am still looking in the other threads for a solution, but pls answer or send my a link to a solution.
Greetings
As I understood your phone does not boot at all, and it doesn't charge (no led) while off. If it's like that it's most likely a permanent brick.
Then you said that you are using Spazedog? Does it boot or not?
the Desire does neither boot nor load.
spazedog is the rom i put on last.
Then go to link in my signature (how it works) and try to find your situation, but I'm pretty sure it's a brick.

the desire boots again.
It was fully discharged. My brother put it on his power supply and now it works again.

[Q] HTC Desire S Overheating

Hi,
My Desire was working perfectly until 2 days ago.
I was out cycling and had sports tracker and music on.I noticed at halfway that it was hot.I thought maybe it was because it was sunny, but on the way back it ran out of battery, which was unusual.
When I got home I discovered that I couldn't charge or turn on the phone. It had a red flashing light when plugged in.I read to do the volume buttons and power button default to restart. This worked and I can turn on the phone and charge, but the whole phone is really hot, whether the screen is on or not. When it gets very hot it flashes red then green alternately.
Is there anything I can do,or is my phone toast?
Thanks for any help.
