As titled, anyone else?
I am surprised tht all the other reboot problem is from overheat because my desire doesn't get hot at all...
As for my desire, not rooted, definitly not caused by apps because i specifically tried to use the stock rom (unbranded) and it still exist...
It happens when i start up camera, te screen will turn black and if i press power button quickly enough, it will turn screen off as usual, when is unlocked, it will go back to the home screen. If i leave the black screen for a second or not, it will reboot my phone (soft reboot)
Problem only occurs sometimes, no symptoms that show if the camera will cause reboot or not.

Hi guys today my phone's screen I think just died. I turn it on and then the screen lights up (like its still black but it gets brighter), the phone vibrates and then loads. The thing though is that it also loaded up android and everything. I can tell because I wait for a while and then put my phone to sleep, then I wake it again and since I have no password on my phone I just slide to unlock it. It vibrates showing that I unlocked it so the touchscreen still works. Can anyone help?
Loose cable in screen? U rooted or anythin? Return for repair if you can.

yah i did root it is there anyway to do a nandroid recovery from adb from clockwork recovery?
I have a rooted Desire running Redux v1.2 and had been going great for a day or two but suddenly the screen has started refusing to turn on from a locked state. The buttons still light up when I press the lock button but the screen stays black and I have to remove the battery and reboot. Any idea why this might be happening?
I'm worried because it started doing this before being hard bricked last time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995009
HTC managed to fix the phone under warranty but don't want to end up in the same place again.
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but search appears to be down and I need to figure out if I need to try and restore the stock ROM tonight (so my phone doesn't die again).
Are you using setCPU or something similar? If yes make sure you don't have a screen off profile below 245Mhz.

The rom has a CPU section in the settings menu. In it the minimum frequency 245MHz but I have now just enabled power save mode and I will see if things improve.

Hi all
My lock screen is going crazy. Every time I lock the phone, and the screen goes off, it immediately comes back on again - just like I've pressed the power button. It's very odd. The phone actually reboots if I press the power button a couple of times.
Any suggestions? I've even reinstalled the rom bit it's still happening.
I've checked the timeout and it's set to 30 seconds. Also there are no apps running and no animated wallpaper. There is no issue with the power button - the phone works fine apart from this.
I'm running CM7 on my HTC Desire. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jonny
Do a backup then wipe. Still happens?

Yes still happens. ALso installed a new rom from scratch. Still happens!
Very bizarre. Incidentally my down-volume button on the rocker no longer works. And reboots are more frequent, mostly when the phone has been locked for a few seconds and I press the power button...
I've screwed about with it a lot over the year so I think I'd like to unroot and install stock HTC rom again. I'd like to give it to my Dad when I get my galaxy nexus anyway.
Are there any instructions/steps available detailing how to unroot and put back to the factory rom?
Thanks again for all your help.
Jonny
I dont think that will fix it. Sounds like a hardware issue on the motherboard. Perhaps water damage...
But yes, search for RUU to return to stock. You can use the GB 2.3.3 one from HTCDev.com
Having read your first post I thought it was the accelometer that might be faulty, but now I'm not sure. As the previous user said it may be water damage.
To remove root, just install the latest official RUU. Normally found in the Android Dev Forums
Hey folks, I've noticed an issue with my One V (CDMA/PrimoC). Sometimes when I press the power button to turn the screen off, it doesn't fully shut off. In very low light, I can see that there's still a faint glow behind the screen. It doesn't happen often (that I can tell) but I have had some crazy battery drain randomly and this might explain it. My phone is bootloader unlocked, rooted and this issue has occurred on various ROMs (I noted it at least on the stock rom and on shubhamchamaria's nON-sENsE rom v1.1 which I'm currently using).
Has anyone else noticed this happening? If you have, do you know of a fix?
Probally the backlight leakage issue, which means you will have to make it all stock again and send it back to HTC. This is a known hardware problem.

When I turn my phone off, the screen seems to also stay on but it is hardly noticible and turns itself off later

I'm not sure if mine eventually turns itself off but it definitely doesn't turn off at 1 minute like it should normally.
This is a problem that seems to be getting worse and worse for me.
I'm running the stock ROM from HTC on my Desire HD.
When the phone goes to lock and and I press the power button to unlock it, 95% of the time the screen does not come on.
The touch screen is still enabled however, as I can unlock by swiping and make the phone vibrate by pressing the home key, and the back light does come on and off every time I press the power button. But the screen just doesn't come on.
I've read that the DHD has had a lot of problems with the proximity sensor, but I'm not sure that that is my problem as the back light comes on and the touch screen can still be operated blindly.
Any suggestions as to how I might fix it?
Seems to be a hardware issue from the looks of it. Rooted? Which stock firmware?
I bought the xda app. Problem?
If you are s on then there are two things you can try. First I would clear app cache, turn of fastboot and re boot phone. If problem persists then re install ruu.
If you are s off go into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik and see if that works. If not do a backup of your downloaded apps and re install ruu.

Thanks for helping out.
the hboot screen has the same intermittent problems as the phone normally does. If I turn it off with the screen working, the hboot screen will probably come on. Though there has been one instance where I was in hboot with the screen not working.
I'm going to try wiping the cache (I'm still s-on) and turning off fastboot.
Here's more details about the phone itself:
Kernel Version:
2.6.35 10-g931a37e
Build Number:
3.13.161.3
Android Version:
2.3.5
I really hope its just a software problem I can sort out myself. Hate sending my phone off the HTC.
Yeah I would try software first. Though since you say it happens in hboot as well it is most likely a hardware issue. Probably not what you want to hear.
