Screen wake up when charging on wireless qi - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have recently installed Cloudy G3 (2.0) on my D855 and I noticed that around 4am my screen woke up. When I checked the phone the next day to see why the screen is waking up while charging I noticed the "charging slowly" message on the screen.
How can you disable this message?? Keep in mind I am on Android L so there is no more Xposed and G3 Tweaksbox.

I also noticed that the screen seems to just turn on at random in the early morning time frame (4-5am). Since Cloudy G3 is based on the stock LG rom I was hoping that someone else was having a similar issue with their phone using wireless qi with a 3rd party charger.
I am using: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zens-Universal-Wireless-Compatible-smartphones-Black/dp/B005PL4JCE
This charger has worked fine with the G3 while I was on 4.4, but I was also using some of the things in G3 Tweaksbox in order to suppress these messages. (Slow charging, charging finished, etc...)

I have the same problem. If I put the LG G3 (D855) on the wireless charger and it is fully charged, the screen wakes up every 1 to 10 minutes. The notifications which cause the wake up seem to come from Light Flow, but I want to keep this app. In LightFlow, I have disabled the screen-wake-up function, but it doesnt help.
The only solution I found (not tried yet) is the xposed framework with G3 Tweaksbox. But why do you think it doesnt work with Lollipop? According to my research both work on Android L.

It's well known by now that xposed is built for Dalvik runtime and not ART. With Android L they made ART the default (and you can't change back to Dalvik). See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56114217&postcount=5
I wonder what G3 Tweaksbox was changing to disable the notifications. Is there someone that could help with making a patch of some sort that can be flashed on to LG Android 5.0 that disables this? Can someone point me in the direction of what needs to be changed to disable this notification like what G3 Tweaksbox was doing??

I looked at the phone a bit more and noticed that the issue seems to come when the battery is full, although I haven't noticed any battery full notification. The screen just turns on and off every 30 seconds or so.

Hi,
We are a lot to face this issue, many threads talk about it, but no one has an answer right know. LG seems to be aware, Xposed is still in a research phase, I guess we are out of options right now.
I switched to cable plug for night charging, and wireless for day charging only.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/off-notification-battery-charged-t2830195/page4
Anyway, search forum for "wireless charging" and you'll see

Maybe we could ask the people of G3 Tweaksbox about how they fix this problem, and only apply this single modification.
The problem is that the phone starts charging very often again, and this in turn switches the screen on. The charging process only lasts however a few milliseconds, and therefore one does not recognize it easily.
I have also contacted LG, and they told me too that they are aware of this problem. They confirmed that the cause is the restart of the charging process. The LG person refused however to call it a problem but only an 'effect', which may or may not be fixed in the future.
After a long search I found an app which I use currently as a temporary solution. It is the app 'SnooZy Charger', which switches off the screen every time the phone switches on the screen due to charge starting and charge ending. Everytime this happens the screen is still on for a fraction of a second until it is switched off by the app, but better than the usual screen-on time.

I have a brand new G3 with stock Lollipop on it and I also get the waking up issue around 4-5am when wireless charging. I haven't tried using the usb cable instead.

Lollipop Problem Thread - For those of us that already have it

OK, so now that I have lollipop, I have noticed a few things are broken and I am wondering what other problems others are having and what we can collectively do to try and fix them.
If I tilt and say "OK Google" and "Show me my heartrate" I get a momentary black screen and then back to the watch face. Happens with both Fit and the Moto app
I noticed it happens more when I have a partial notification card showing. If I clear the notification and turn the screen back on it will usually work right.
Also, downloaded the update while on the charger then ran the update with 100% battery, now three hours later I'm down to 34%. Yikes. I've had the watch for only a couple days so I'll give it more time to settle in.

FWIW whenever i run updates i lose an easy 15%+. all of that on-screen time and processing shows the inefficiencies of the processor. i generally try to re-charge it after any update.
additionally its been reported several times to perform a factory reset on the watch after any update. i haven't performed one yet myself, but by battery life has been on-par with before.
lollipop
Do you have lollipop on your phone? I notice that when i got lollipop on my 360 the battery went down pretty quick! I had the 360 connected with my M7 on kitkat! Now i have my 360 connected with my Nexus 6 and its working ok!

Anyone have problems with the unlock your phone feature using a different launcher like nova. I have mine paired to my nexus 6 and it works great on Google launcher but only about a third of the time on nova, thanks

Google+ Running When Unlock Phone?

Lately (last week or so) sometimes when I unlock my phone Google+ is running with just a black screen and I have to hit the home button to close out. I wake phone to see a Google+ at the top of an otherwise black screen. I never even open G+ so this has been frustrating. Anyone else seeing this? I don't want to uninstall because I use it for photo editing
Are you rooted? I'm having the same problem and it's driving me nuts. I'm running a log right now in case it does it again to see exactly what's going on

Are you running in battery save mode at all? also what rom are you on? aosp or stock based?
ive noticed some apps have strange artifacts on battery save mode for aosp > i.e. lollipop L launcher. panels disappear from the app drawer (due to an animation im guessing)
I'm running battery save mode at 30%. Rooted since day 1 but stock ROM
The same thing has been happening to me but only after I charge it, and every time I charge it. I started noticing it about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The first, or one of the first, times it happened it froze the phone and I could not do a soft or hard reboot, had to remove the battery.
I have a T-Mobile G3 (D851) not rooted, stock Tmobile Kitkat 4.4.2, no battery saver.
My phone is tied to my gmail account so I'm guessing this behavior might be related to some type of auto-backup/sync. Still trying to figure out what service though.
same issue
I have the same problem. I was rooted at one point but unrooted before i updated to lollipop so now i am only on stock. I also have battery saver one, 15% i think. I know if i just charge it for a bit it doesn't happen so it has something to do with it charging for a while

Marshmellow update problems

So I was hesitant to proceed with the update since my 360 has been working so well and the battery life increased tremendously when I got my Note 5.
After a few days of the update pestering me I decided to go for it.
Now there are 2 things that are very annoying.
The first, whenever the screen comes on, there is a slight delay in the watch face.
It lights up with a black face and the hands are white, then it switches to whatever face I have and respected dials.
I'm not using facer or anything, just the stock moto Dials 2. This is very annoying and makes the watch seem slow.
The second thing is that the watchface doesnt turn on when I receive texts anymore.
The vibrate function still works, but the screen won't light up.
Is there a setting that changed making this the default? I would prefer the screen turn on when I receive texts.
Thanks
Make sure 'card previews' turned on from the android wear app, other wise your experience with the faces sounds buggy! A factory reset would help on that.
Factory reset doesnt work, this also happens to me since the update, looks like this is a firmware problem.
Damnit, I wish I didn't update.
Battery is also noticeably worse.

Same exact two issues here and I'm shocked I haven't seen more people complain about them. The first one is a nuisance but the second one completely devalues the purpose of the watch making it useless. Not seeing the text/email/etc... and only having a vibration on your wrist is pointless. I could keep my phone on vibrate in my pocket if I wanted to be notified of a new text/email without seeing the actual message. Please post a fix if one is found!

Can you found a way to fix it?

The first issue is because the watch now comes on in ambient mode first. Even if you don't use ambient mode. It sucks. Luckily i use Watchmaker for my watch face so I went in and made all the parts (hands date etc...) to be visible in ambient mode.
I have noticed that if I wait a couple of seconds the notification does appear on my watch screen but it is after the vibrate, not immediate. I thought it wasn't showing up at first too. Still, I wish it was quicker as I look right away.

I went back to using Facer for my watchface and the delay is gone.
Also did they completely remove the restart option? Now it's just power off, and then press and hold the side button.
I'm experiencing both issues as you do on 6.0.1.
Also yes, reboot option is gone from update.
The renamed reset with "unpair from watch". Not gone, just to mess with us.

Reboot is not reset...
I've also noticed that theater mode does not work after the mm update (unrooted, ota). I usually set it to theater mode at night to avoid burn in and just because I don't want it on all night. Now, it looks like it's blacked out, but when I wake up, the charging screen is lit up. Anyone else getting this?
I have the exact same issue after the update. Theater mode will not keep the display off if the watch is being charged. Off the charger, it works as expected. Quite an annoying bug.
If I turn ON the theatre mod with double press the power button before I put the clock on the charging dock, after that screen continue charge with screen off.
For me it's work.
Can anyone try it?

Just tried that - doesn't work for me. Screen turns off but once I put it on the charger, it comes back on after a few seconds. I'm watching it and it's still on a few minutes later.
Same here. Screen always turns back on
I'm getting the first bug the OP mentioned havn't noticed the second one though.
However the first bug is annoying enough, hopefully there'll be a quick patch.
Little patience, update to Marshmallow is great.
Here's what I mean with screen off when charge:
So in the morning until you take it out of the dock and go to work.

Sorry I read wrong...but wouldn't you just use the power off option and then turn back on to reboot?

Glance view no longer working after factory reset

Hello,
I am posting here in hopes someone has the wisdom to help me in solving this issue, because I have barely found anything on this forum, the G4 subreddit, etc.
When I first had my LG G4 everything worked perfectly: no bootloops, no camera issues, it was occasionally sluggish but I just changed the launcher to fix it. After about a month ago, my Pokemon Go app started having connectivity issues so I reset the phone to factory default settings. This reset fixed those connectivity issues, but now the glance view feature doesn't work 98% of the time. Specifically, if I attempt to "pull" from the top of my screen on my lock screen, it never works; once or twice I've seen it appear for a brief second when I was cleaning my phone with a cloth. The odd thing is my knock to wake still works and I can still pull notifications from the screen when the phone is unlocked.
Things I have attempted to resolve this problem:
changing lock screen types
resetting the phone to factory defaults and trying the glance view from stock after the reset
varying "pull" speeds to try to get the glance view to show
re-cleaning the screen
I'm kind of just trying to get this feature to work again. I do have a screen protector on, but I have had it on since the day I got my phone. I have the LG-H811 model with Android 6.0 SW version H81120p. Any tips would be appreciated.

Just got Oreo on Verizon, not too happy. Can I downgrade?

Hey guys,
I just got the update to Oreo on Verizon. So far I'm not liking it. I have several missing settings that I actually cannot find, specifically Ambient Display. I can find it in search, but when I click on it, it brings me to Display settings with the Advanced tab already selected but there is no setting for Ambient Display shown. I also can't figure out if its that or the Moto Display (where you approach to wake the device) but that setting is turned off. The phone is seriously waking it self up every couple seconds to show me a clock, the date and a blue ring showing the constantly draining battery percentage. I'm also very sad about the new emoji. I miss the blobby guys. Can I downgrade? how does someone do that anymore. Rooting seems very different now than in the pre 4.1 era I was used to on my previous phone. With my Moto Z Play, I haven't bothered to root or anything as it's worked right off the bat.
Thanks guys for your help.
First, this is a Moto z play or -02 forum, where what I think you have is a Droid or -01. So I may not be able to help much! - I have 8.0 where the ambient appears whenever the phone is touched or moved in any way. It only appears for about 3 seconds - i actually doubt this will have much effect on your battery, though if your phone is in constant motion , I suppose it could. The ambient display for me is a partial circle indicating % of battery charge, with %, time and date. I see no way to modify this. I suppose a custom ROM might change things but that would not be avail for the Droid as I know of no way to root it. I suppose you could always bug Verizon... Good luck with it!!! I generally like Oreo so far, but that is a problem with version updates - things change and we're pretty much stuck with it unless we can find and flash a different ROM...
