Hello people, i'm going to tell you something you should know if you are going to buy the Nyko Playpad.
(I'm not trying to discurage you from buying the controller i'm only gonna give you guys some info. Very good info.)
(Also, if i posted this in the wrong place, sorry, i'm new here.)
Anyway, what i was going to tell you is something that happend to me. I bought the controller to use it with my HTC Evo View 4G Tablet.
The controller claims to be compatible with any Android device, as long as it has a version of 3.0 and up, BUT, it won't work on ALL devices. (A guy from Technical Support told me this.)
So my problem is that I am able to pair the control and the tablet, but aren't able to establish a succesfull connection, after pairing the controller, they don't connect like they are suposed to, insted, the light on the controller goes back to flashing slow, I made sure everything was correct, folowed the instructions sevral times, but no luck. Clicking on the device from the list of devices wont work eather, i only get a message saying to press any key on the KEYBOARD to reconnect; pressed the hell out of the buttons sevral times and they still don't connect.
Later on this day today, i call technical support but they wernt much of help, all they told me was that not all devices are compatible, and to try to reset the controller that there is a button to do so and then to try again. I fond the pin hole but theres no botton, so there is no reset botton, nor does it say anywhare how to do so. (the hole doesn't even say "reset" like most holes.
The controller is not defective, i tried it on my friends Galaxy Tab 2 and it worked with no problem at all, it also works perfectly with my iPod 4g.
So what i'm trying to tell you is to do some background research to see if your device will be compatible, and for gods sake, make sure you are on Android 3.0 or above, some people don't even see that. (I forgot to check so myself.)
Here is a list of devices i tried and if they worked or not and a reason:
Verizon Galaxy Tab 7" (Galaxy Tab 1): Not working. Reason: Below Android 3.0
HTC Evo 4G: Not working. Reason: Below Android 3.0
Galaxy Tab 2: Working Perfectly.
iPod 4th Generation (Running IOS 6.1.3 Jailbroken): Works perfectly in iCade mode.
HTC Evo View 4G: Not working: Reason: Pairs but doesn't connect. (Yes I made sure it was running above 3.0, and my tablet is running on 3.1.2)
LG Optimus L9: Not working. Reason: Pairs but doesn't connect. (Didn't check what Android version it was running on, my friend took it away from me befor i could check.)
I also know that it works perfectly on the Galaxy Note II.
Again, im not trying to discurage you from buying it, its one hell of a good controller, only thing is that its kind of small, but you eventually get used to it after the first day.
It would be nice to have a list of comatible devices on their website, or somewhere, in fact, if there is non, we should all make one by saying which device they tried and if it worked or not.
One last thing, if you guys know how to make it work on the HTC Evo View 4G Tablet, please tell me, perferably something not requireing root, I've Googled to death and even made an account here for help and i got no reply... Or at least how to reset the controller.
Hope this was helpful to you people who want to buy the controller, if i made you change your mind about the controller, sorry, but this has to be somewhere to be found and known about. Thanks for taking your time reading this, and if you decide to help on my little connection problem, also thanks.
so if i buy it for an ouya...would it work ?

I don't know, i.don't have an Ouya, but it is Android Powerd if there is a way for them to connect then it might, but honestly, i've never bother to see what the Ouya is cpable of...
I know this thread is kinda old, but I just got one and am having trouble connecting. There is a little pinhole and a button down inside of it. You have to push straight down and you'll be able to feel it.

Whoa sorry for the year late reply, but i actually tried that pinhole thing and didn't fix it, i figured it was just my ex HTC tablet that was not compatible... so i guess just because it was in the 3.0+ or whatever, it doesnt really meen it will work, to this day, i gave the tablet to my little neice, and its still not compatible lol... but i have a Tab 4 7.0 and a Note 2 i use it with cx
I ordered the Zenwatch during those few hours they were first available online at best buy. I picked it up yesterday and only have a few days left before I need to return my Sony Smartwatch 3. I want to decide between the two, and was leaning towards the Zen because of aesthetics and I actually like the charging cradle design.....
BUT, this watch lags like crazy and then freezes completely within a few minutes of booting. Even the very first time I turned it on, it took forget to register what I had selected for language. After rebooting, I got past that and it eventually installed a software update. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to help.
After 1 or 2 cycles of dimming the screen and being woken up, the watch freezes. The phone still thinks it is connected and I can feel it vibrate when swiping down to mute/unmute, but the graphics are frozen. The side drawer doesn't activate and the only way to shut it down is to hold the power button for 10sec or so.
I've done multiple "resets" on the watch and repaired the phone, but it keeps acting the same. Is there a hard reset for this watch? Anyone else experience this?
I'd exchange it at best buy but of course they are sold out so who knows how long before they can exchange it.
This happened to me when I had the 360. It froze when I was trying to turn it off. I eventually got it off, just like you did. It never responded the same afterwards. It would freeze at random times. I assumed it was the TI processor in the 360, but I hope this is not something to expect with AW. I took mine back to BB and got a refund so I could get this watch. I hope this is an isolated event.
All the reviews have been stellar and people have seemed happy even on the fortune, so I'm sure this is isolated.
I wonder if there is a way to reload the system software from the computer to the watch? Best buy is a no-go at this time. Sold out and unable to help aside from returning and refunding it.

Based on the tracking status, I should get mine tomorrow. I'll let you know if I experience any funny business when I get mine up and running. Good Luck.
I really haven't noticed any significant lag. It's initially unresponsive sometimes which I attribute to an overly conservative cpu governor, but otherwise it's a pleasant experience.
I've had mine for almost a week now and definitely haven't seen those problems. There were updates to both the watch and phone app soon after starting up. Maybe you got a bad load on one of them. Have you tried the 'Resync apps' option from the Android Wear (Phone) settings menu? Have you tried the full factory reset of the watch? If so, sounds like dud might be the case. If of any significance, I'm connecting via a stock Sprint HTC One Max.
Yes, the watch did an update after the first successful boot, but it was laggy and had frozen during the language setup even the first time. I've done multiple factory resets to no avail, but it does not repeat the update with that (though it does require pairing to the phone again).
I wish I could manually reload the watch system software. I'm new to Android wear rooting, etc. Is it possible to manually completely reload the system software?
Yes, I've also tried the resync apps and have the latest phone software as well...

I would maybe try once with a different phone then call it a dud. I don't know enough about it either to go deeper than that.
Saga over. Returned the watch today after trying clean installs of everything last night. It would even freeze when not connected. Sucks to get a dud, but glad this seems to be a unique occurrence.
Trying out the LG G watch R (what a horrible name). Big and sporty instead of subdued, but nice nonetheless.

I was having similar issues but wanted a couple days with the watch before i posted, I just requested a RMA for the watch, love the look of it, but was having issues with random reboots, very laggy ui especially when browsing through watch faces..had one time where the watch actually locked up and required a hard reset via the button on the back..also got significant battery drain, 2 percent every it seemed 10 minutes....Hopefully the replacement is better than this one...I could live with some of the issues, but the random rebooting i can't deal with. If the 2nd is a dud mite get the sony, till then back to my trusty g watch.

Did you get your watch back? I have to send mine in too because the battery dies in 5 hours without even touching it. ASUS said it is a bug with the lollipop update so they are going to re-flash it. Also did you have to ship it yourself or did you get something in the mail.

I sent mine in cuz it wouldn't turn on. I received an RMA, shipped it to them and they had it back to me in less than a week.
So, I bought the Huawei watch in November 2015 and everything was working fine till Thursday last week. Thursday is when I bought the new HTC 10, so I had to factory reset the Huawei Watch in order for it to sync with the HTC 10. After doing that and syncing with the HTC 10, I have noticed that none of the sensors on the watch work anymore. By sensors I mean pedometer, heart rate sensor, gestures etc.
I have done a factory reset several times and also tried pairing and syncing the watch with other android phones, still the same result.
Can someone help me please, as this looks like a software problem as the watch has not been damaged or anything and it was working absolutely fine before I did the factory reset.

Yep, it still did not work, I just sent it back to Amazon for a refund.
Must be a software glitch. Mine started acting up a couple of days ago. At first I noticed the screen would go to sleep although I had "Always on" on.
Today I noticed that neither the pedometer nor the HRM are working...
Same here.. for few days already hrm pedo and gyro? Not working. Never installed an update tho.

Has to be a software glitch if many people are facing similar issues, all the hardware sensors cannot just go faulty all of a sudden.

Any solution to propose or did it just start working again on its own? Mine's sensors are still dead...
i just did factory reset using the recovery. then after that still not working. then tried paring to other phones. 3 phone to be exact, then it started working. im pairing it to the original phone now no issues again so far.

Nope, never. Always remove it before showering. It's supposed to be waterproof to 10m as well.
I think it has something to do with the latest android wear update, since all the issues started around then (for me it was May 19th). It cannot be a coincidence that everyone's watches started going wrong around that date.
just restart your watch then try again.
I have already restarted/factory reset the watch many times to date and still no luck.
Me too sir how i can do for make it work again
Dear all concerns ,
Now , my watch can touch and i just install to 6.0.1 version but i can't using Heart rate sensor and another sensors anymore How i should to do ?
Thank you so much for kind support
I have the same problem, the sensors do not work. Some solution? Restart factory settings I have done several times. Thanks

Last I have seen that Huawei has made a deal with Samsung to use Tizen. They are not happy with Google not letting them customize Android Wear.
http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...ld-sport-tizen-os-instead-of-android-wear.htm
I know it is a problem with the android wear app. Does someone know how to fix it accept to the returning solution?
Ok, so I have a smart watch and wear it all the time. But, it seems I can't have the phone connected to my watch and my car at the same time. I came from a S7 Edge and there was never a problem and the phone would reliably connected to both, and it didn't matter if the connection involved my watch and speaker or car, it connected and everything was great. Now that I have the Pixel 2 XL, I cannot to both at the same time and the connection is not reliable to even one device. It will disconnect regularly from anything connected.
Well, I figured this odd considering the Bluetooth version in the Pixel 2 is more advanced than the S7, but apparently I'm wrong. I contacted Google regarding the issue and was told it can only connect to one device at a time. I'm not sure how it makes sense to not allow a Android Wear watch to be connected at the same time you're connected to another device, because that would make having smart watch pretty much useless since a whole lot of people would like to be able to get notifications on their watch while listening to music via connected Bluetooth speaker!?
Ok, so after receiving that answer I then addressed the fact that my phone won't reliably hold a single connection to my watch regardless of any other devices I'd ike to connect too. Here comes the typical trouble Shooting...(reboot, delete paired devices, wipe phone and start fresh), nothing changed. Customer service finally said I need a new device, and this is after spending nearly an hour talking to them. So I'm thinking "perfect!" The customer service representative told me how sorry they are and they want to make the process as easy as possible by shipping a brand new device to me, and when I get the new one, I can activate it and then send the defective device back to Google using a prepaid shipping label. She said I'll get an email with a link to finish the process and will be good to go soon, and even promised the new device would not have these issues.
Well...I got the email and clicked the link, but this brings me to an order that would says if be charged for the phone. I'm a little confused so I message the agent I spoke to and she said they will only put a hold on my funds for the $950, which would be removed once they receive the is device. Ok, I get that they are making sure they don't get caught up giving away a device if this cost, but it's a defective device,. And.... I'm not a rich person and that money is needed for the family and bills. I financed the phone for a 0% APR, which is basically free money, just in advance and don't have an extra $1,000 laying around or else I would have just purchased the phone up front.
Long post, but I want everyone get a full picture and then get opinions. Am I wrong to think I shouldn't have to let a company that provided me with a faulty device put a hold on so much of my money, (especially when it's only been about 2 weeks since I received the device) just to get a new, properly working device? I've would love some feedback and sorry for the long post.
I just think it's completely ridiculous and really ruined all the excitement I had about the phone and completely turned me off about the whole of the "Made By Google" idea... And I've literally bought a new Android phone every year since the very 1st Android phone, the G1. Maybe I'm going off the deep end with this and overreacting, but any time I've had an issue with an item that has a cost like this one does, they've done everything to make it right without causing me to adjust my budget, to simply get a replacement.
Anyway, please give me your thoughts on this!?

I rather have the advance replacement option instead of where I have to send the phone first. I'm in that situation right now and I'm not sure where my phone is. It didn't get scanned and it's been almost a week.
I have LG watch sport and my watch stays connected to my phone while connected to my car BUT there are caveats. If I press the BT button in my car it will connect to my phone but only gain media control. If I go into settings and manually connect my car it will have both media and phone functionality. It's an annoyance but I've gotten used to it.

Wow! So your phone can connect to "multiple" devices at the same time. That's interesting. I attached a screenshot of the conversation with Google where I was told that wasn't even possible. I really don't get why they are straight up lying to me. I suppose it's so they aren't admitting blame, but I sure would have felt a whole lot better if they just came clean about it.

Well, mine can't even do that. I find it crazy that my S7 could connect to both devices, on an older version of Bluetooth, so efficiently and this new Bluetooth 5 can't. Gear S3 and Moto 2nd edition. Same issue in both, so I know it's not Samsung software.
Pixel 2
I own a pixel 2 and am able to pair my Xbox one controller, and an audio source primarily my headphones or speaker, simultaneously without any problem. Am able to even use both at once front 40-50 ft before I start getting any audio stuttering.
My pixel 2 XL stays paired with my Sony smartwatch 3 constantly. And I can also be connected to my car or work truck & my Jaybirds at the same time. So I can be connected to 3 devices at once. I can choose in Bluetooth settings which device to send media & calls to. And get my notifications on my watch at the same time. Isn't this as it should be. I understood that this phone could connect to up to 5 Bluetooth devices at once.
I switched from a S8+ to the Pixel 2 XL a while ago and noticed there are some bluetooth issues. I can connect to multiple devices, but the connection is not always reliable, or just won't reconnect automatically. I'm using a Gear S3 smartwatch and a Sony WH-1000XM2 bluetooth headset. Both devices have problems with reconnecting automatically.
I think it has to do with priorities, because if I have my smartwatch connected and enable my headset, the headset does connect sometimes and sometimes not. So, if it doesn't connect automatically and I do it by myself, my headset always states "no phone calls" and I don't have the battery bar of the headset. If I disable phone calls on my headset and reenable it again, it does connect automatically a few times and the battery symbol pops up. It seems my smartwatch and my headset are fighting, which one should handle calls.
hells
I have the LG Watch Sport myself, and it won't connect to my phone at the same time as my Sony bluetooth headphones. I haven't used the smart watch with the pixel 2 xl because of this very issue.
Why have a phone with not headphone jack, and a dodgy headphone connector that doesn't always work, and then make connecting to two bluetooth devices, so difficult?
Not sure if it helps ease your mind, but it wont be an actual charge just a hold authorization. Not sure if the device replacement will solve your issue though. if possible, get to a store and try to pair on a demo unit (remember to unpair after!)
I have an android wear watch which is connected all the time, and connect to other bluetooth devices with no problem. Lots of bluetooth devices connect without saying they are connected - my watch shows as paired but not connected when I'm playing through something else.

I know only 2 brands which allow to connect multiple calling devices. Apple and Samsung. All others sucks. Apple and Samsung will allow you to choose headphone, car, smart watch to answer or make call without digging in settings but just on call screen. All others won't let you to choose more than one calling device connected to bt.

Well. Samsung can do it on nougat. Each brand developers should just enable it that is what we need.
I don't have issues connecting to multiple devices BUT my major issue is when I initiate a call from the phone I rarely ever can hear there either person. I end up having to turn off Bluetooth. I'll hear everything up until the person picks up the phone.
I have an LG watch sport. If I start the call from the watch I'm fine. I rarely make outgoing calls which is the ONLY reason why I'm about to tolerate this but when I do, I just want to toss the phone away.

I'm truly amazed at the shoddiness of the Pixel 2 XL's bluetooth performance. My last several phones were LGs and I never had any issues connected to devices or switching between multiple connected devices. With this sucker, I have to manually turn off my Beyerdynamic Byrons when I get near my car. Otherwise I have to go into the BT settings and select my car as the primary. There's no way to prioritize devices either...WTF are you doin' Google. My first and last google branded product. Sure quick updates and a lean OS are nice but not at the expense of functionality that's been part of smartphones for year. AND, I got a $300 discount from Verizon that's not really a discount. I have to finish the 2 years instead of paying the device off early. I'm a miserable camper with my mobile experience as a whole UGH!!!!
Try the app Bluetooth Auto Connect.

Isnt it unlocked already? It should come unlocked if you bought it from Trading Shenzhen...
Only if you get xiaomi eu rom, I did not I stuck with the original china rom
I bought my one at tradingshenzen too. It was locked.
Did you follow all the steps? Try to logout from mi-account on your phone and login again on the same wifi network as your pc is. Did you activate the developer options and set oem-unlock to on? Can your phone be located through https://i.mi.com/#/ ?
When everything goes right, it will say: waiting time 360 hours = 15 days before going to unlock.
If that's to long for you, then try to flash another rom (maybe China developer or stable), but better take an older version, because the new ones have Anti-Rollback activated.
And before you flash another rom, better logout from your mi account on your phone.
I reduced my waiting time to 240 hours by flashing another rom

The device is definitely still locked because there's no message when booting up and going to developer options > mi unlock status shows the device is locked.
Device can be located using find device
OEM unlocking is enabled in developer settings
Logged into mi account on the device which is the same on the mi unlock tool
Don't know what to do now. I'm on 9.6.12.0 which has antirollback unfortunately which I updated to when I was still getting the error.
Nevermind solved. I tried another computer that was Intel instead of AMD and I can now see the wait time to unlock. Ridiculous 719 hours...
Okay, this problem got me now. Three different PCs, all of them unable to unlock the new Xiaomi Mi 8.
I have to say, I am royally pissed of with Xiaomi. What on Earth happened? Why do they create this process, and why is it that buggy?
I was waiting to unlock my mi 8 lite and it told me the usual 360 hours and today it was up so I went in to unlock and now it says that I must 'use the phone more before unlock' Please wait 7 days. I'm so pissed I just put the return in to amazon I'm not doing that waiting again just for them to tell me wait again and then I can't return it. Anyone else seen this? Getting a OP6 I'm tired of this ****.

I've read somewhere that it could be a problem with a USB 3 Port, use a USB 2 Port if available. But I can't verify that for myself as I'm still waiting for mine to come :crying:

Well that's interesting, I was planning on letting mine just sit on the shelf until the 30 days have passed. Good to know that that's not a good way to go forward. Thanks for sharing that, even if it made you return your device.

Yeah I'm so unbelievably pissed, I noticed the unlock tool just told me no, then it said there was an update to the unlock tool, installed it. Then I get this now, LOL. Yeah ok Xiaomi I don't think so. It's too bad because the hardware is nice but they want to try and trap you into their crappy ad ridden ROM, bait and switch so I'm just going to grab a OP6 tonight and have it unlocked and flashed before this even gets back to amazon. I went cheap because I heard good things about xiaomi but it must have been in the past because this is very very bad business.
has anyone had any success unlocking after the time was up? I can't believe they are doing this.

Well from what I've heard, this unlocking procedure was introduced because some chinese vendors were unlocking chinese models of their phones and selling them in europe or elsewere and that was not what they had intended. So to prevent them from unlocking the devices they implemented this waiting time. And I guess "not using" is just one of the details of it. As I would understand it, a vendor could still request the unlock of several devices and then just wait but they would probably not pop a sim in every of these devices for a while. And to be clear, that's just a guess I'm making here. But I could imagine that being a "thing" to prove that you are indeed "using" the phone.
yeah I returned it this morning so I don't care anymore and got a OP6 I'm unlocking right now. I popped sim in the first day and then waited their mandated time and it said nothing about keeping sim in or anything and the countdown timer kept moving so I waited but not going to wait until my return period was over LOL. No way.

That's exactly the point. I had to use a very very old PC to do the unlocking. It wouldn't work on any newer one.
There is no waiting time anymore, though. But I guess you have found out yourself by now.

What do you mean be "very very old"? My (desktop) PC is just a few years but it still has plenty of USB 2.0 ports. But for the waiting, I'm still waiting that TradingShenzhen is actually shipping the damn thing Ordered it a week ago.

None of my newer PCs did the job, although they all USB2 ports. I had to use a PC that does NOT have a USB3 port, and that was my 6 year old ASUS.
I don't know what Xiaomi is thinking, but my guess is: Not very much. In this case, at least, the phone altogether is brilliant.

Ok that is strange, never heard of that, that the PC to use has to have USB 2.0 only. Then also my desktop would be out of the race as it has 2 USB 3.0 at the back...^^
Not sure this is something that they are doing on purpose, although it's not the first time I've read that something does not work with USB 3 and only with USB 2 (other stuff than unlocking).
It seems that there are still some driver issues or perhaps some other stuff that is interfering, because as more and more is upgraded to USB 3 (pc's as well as phones) that would make things very difficult if we were stuck on USB 2 for certain things.
But back to the phone, have you actually tried upping the dpi? I was wondering up to what point this can be done because the default resolution seems a bit like "not using the screen as effectively as you could do".

My best guess is that it indeed is a driver issue and the problem was the INTEL motherboard I use in both of my newer PCs. But it's just a guess. Perhaps the motherboard treats all USB ports internally like USB3 or what not...
I haven't upped the DPI. Maybe I should have, I had some trouble adapting my old browser to the much lower resolution of the Mi 8.
At first that put me off a bit - I come from a device with a 2K screen, and it felt like downgrading - but in everyday use there is no difference. The screen might just be FHD, but it's crisp, bright and great.
I will have a look at the DPI thing, I am triggered now.

Well I've also read that Intel boards are fine but AMD boards are causing trouble... Strange.
Well my phone before the 5x was an OPPO Find 7 (the s, not the a, so the "better" one with a QHD display) and I still use that from time to time like for navigating because its just so much more you see on the screen than on my 1080p Honor 5x. Let me know if you managed to get anything satisfying in regards to the DPI
