Logging out of google play store on fire tv - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway I can log out my account on the google play store on my fire tv. The only way I seem to be able to do that is by uninstalling the apks then reinstalling them.

Sorry to bump my own post but has nobody figured out a way this can be done?

You will do all this on your laptop/desktop and not on your FTV.
First log into https://mygoogle.google.com
STEP 1:
Next, once logged in, scroll down to "Recent Activity". In that section, click on "Devices". (Direct link is https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity ). Click on your device and click on "Remove".
I am not sure if you need to do Step2. Once done with the first step, reboot your FTV and fire up Google Play and if it auto logs in, perform step 2.
STEP 2:
Next, go back to https://mygoogle.google.com Scroll down to "Connected Apps and Services" and click on "Account Permissions". (Direct link is https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions ). Click on your device and click on "Revoke Access" on the right.
Reboot your FTV and Google Play should ask you to re-enter your password (or at this time, you can change your email for a different account)
NOTE: I did just Step 2 and my FTV logged out of Google Play. I did not see the menu item in Step 1 while I was playing with it But it looks like Step 1 should do the trick. If not, do both steps. Reboot your FTV to test before you go back into Google Play.

[Q] Remove Google Account from Fire

Hi guys
I have a Kindle Fire which I want to remove a Google account from so it is no longer associated with the Fire.
I cannot find away to do this other than I guess a factory reset.
It is rooted with Android Market installed.
Thanks
Download "Sync Settings" from the Market.
Sent from my Kindle Fire using xda premium
Using root explorer delete /data/system/accounts.db
That's all

It was moved to /data/system/users/0/accounts.db and deleting that file worked for me. Just have to re-sign into the Playstore.

Just delete all four Google Apps and reinstall them.
Remove Google Play Store No root needed
Edit "Remove Google Play Store Account"
I was able to do this without root. Settings>Apps&Games>Manage All Applications>Google Play Store> then clear cache and clear data.
Account is gone
I just want to log out of a gmail account on Amazon 8 HD Fire.
Goober, download an SQLite editor, there are a ton in the play store. Edit the accounts.db mentioned above. Open the accounts table and delete the record for the account you want to remove. Reboot.
If you had that account selected in any apps, those apps might act weird. If that happens, just clear data for that app. (Ex: clash of clans wouldn't let me select a different account; it was stuck on the deleted account).
I was facing the same issue, too.
There was an old Google account lingering on my Fire (5th gen.) that had been deleted with Google long ago, and which couldn't be removed from the Fire. As it is currently running on FireOS 5.6.0.1 there was no way of deleting the accounts.db as suggested earlier here in the thread due to the lack of root access.
The only thing that helped was deleting the apps
Google Account Manager
Google Services Framework
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
and reinstall them with these package versions:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...unt-manager-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-framework-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-10-2-98-230-146496160-android-apk-download/
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...25-l-all-0-pr-145823605-android-apk-download/
That resolved my problem.
After reinstalling everything the obsolete account is not suggested as Google account anymore.
Cheers,
Sascha

No it doesn't.
Anyone figure out how to do this? I've tried everything. The only thing I could not do was delete /data/system/users/0/accounts.db ... I have root using SuperSU but apps will not see the 'users' folder and I can see it with ADB but it says I dont have perms.
The super-secret users & accounts menu seems to be at:
1. Open Youtube app
2. Click upper-right corner icon for your Google-connected Youtube account.
3. Click switch account
4. Click manage accounts
5. A screen should pop up named "Users & accounts". Click your Google acct.
6. Click the "remove account" button.
Other things I tried:
* One can force logout any device online at myaccount.google.com in your web browser. This did the trick for logging out on my Fire, but I subsequently got endless login shoutboxes saying I need to log back in.
* I tried clearing cache and deleting user data on all user apps and restarting, but this didn't work at all.
I'm on FireOS 6.3.1.4 and confirmed with Youtube version 14.42.54 and 15.06.52
Would you mind adding some Screenshots (possibly edited with 'Mark-Up'), it is pretty hard to follow your directions OR its just different on my Fire Tab 7 (Gen 7). I can sign out via Google Account device Manager from another device, however theres a persistent notification then, saying "Account Action required" which sucks a lot, it sticks in the notification shade for ages!!!

(5) next line is an option called "Add account", then (6) a menu to automatically sync data, and lastly (7) "add users from lock screen."
6. Upon clicking any acccount, I receive a simple screen with (1) the account name, (2) another "account sync" menu item, and (3) a "remove account" button.

Kindle fire 1st gen not only has no camera but also runs android 2.2.3 which is not compatible with pokemon go
There is a way that i did it;
Go to pokemongoforkindlefire.com on your kindle fire
Follow the instructions on the website, it will tell you how to get google play
Once you have google play download google maps
After you have downloaded google maps download pokemon go
Next go to settings > wireless > location based services and turn it on and make sure pokemon go and google maps are enabled too.
Launch google maps and press the current location icon
Exit google play, start pokemon go and enjoy

I haven't tried this, but I am sure if it does work, you will not be able to use the AR capability due to the fact that the Kindle Fire 1st gen. has no camera.
Can't even download fom Google Play store.
How do I get around that?
What if it says no Gps signal but everything is on

Install Google Duo on Firestick via Aptoid TV

I installed Google Duo via the latest version of Aptoide TV on my Fire TV Stick 4K. When Duo starts it asks all the normal security/permission questions. However, when I attempt to Sign In, the screen clears and goes back to the Aptoid TV.
I also tried installing Duo directly to the Fire TV Stick via the Downloader app using the following address that I found: https://bit.ly/2UT2UZX However, I think this link has been taken down.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or found a solution?
Thanks!
Since it's a google application, you probably need the google play services, you can find ways to install them here.

I found the other apk's on APKMirror. After installing in an order I found somewhere else that they should be install in, the stick now just reboots over and over. Now I dont even know how to reset the stick if I can't get to the menu. What a mess.

Philips 40PUK6400/12 - Unable to sign into Google Account

Hi XDA-Developers,
my brother gave me his Philips 40PUK6400/12 to replace my old bedroom tv.
It's an older modell from around 2015 that runs Android 5.1.1.
After factory resetting the tv I am unable to sign in with my Google account. I always receive an error stating my username/password combination is incorrect. This happens during initial setup as well as when I try to open the play store. So far I have tried to to multiple factory resets and to use the wipe tool for Philips Android TVs. After entering my credentials I even get an email informing me that a new device has signed into my account, but the TV doesn't seem to log in.
My brother has also removed the TV from his Google account but this also didn't help.
Any ideas how I might be able to sign into my account?
Edit:
I was able to solve this. It is related to the stock Google Play Services on the TV being too old after a factory reset. In case anyone else has issues with signing into their account on an older Android TV, here is how to solve this:
1. Enable developer options and enable debugging
2. Allow unknown apps in security settings
3. Download the latest Android TV Google Play services apk here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services-android-tv/
4. Connect to your tv: adb connect x.x.x.x (put in your tv's IP adress which you can find in the network settings) - you will receive a notification on your tv which you'll have to accept.
5. Use ADB to sideload the play services apk to your TV: adb sideload -r C:\path\to\your\file.apk
Now you should be able to sign into your account again. You might get a force close of the Play Store on the first start but everything should work on the second attempt.
Hi,
good finding... I think, the old play services do have problems, when 2FA is disabled...

I have to thank you a lot @Bl4ckX !
I had the same problem for a few days and I'm not familiar with adb so I didn't try your way but it worked perfectly on my model 50puh6400/88
I just adapted it a bit since sideload wasn't available (I'm not sure why)
I choosed the command
Code:
adb install xxxxxxx.apk
to install some file explorer and then I managed to install the last Google service using my usb key.
I hope my alternative method can help some and I thank you again a lot for this inspiration !

I was trying to fix this in the last 3 days, after I did factory reset.

Hi, i did the first 4 points of this guide..but i can't install the apk! First question: the apk must be on my pc or in my smart tv?
Second question (the apk is on my pc): is correct this command "adb sideload -rC:\Desktop\GooglePlayService.apk" (i renamed the apk downloaded below in GooglePlayService)? It appears this message
Hi,
you missed a blank after -r
-r C:\
[email protected]
if I use -r*space*C.\path file, promt doesn't recognize the command.
If I don't use -r, now it appear this (I'm trying to install alternatively es-file-explorer but the message is the same)
Hi, I hope somebody can offer some advice. I have a similar problem to the OP. My TV is a 48PFT5500 with Android 5.1.1, last updated on 13 July 2018 which is the last version avilable from Philips. But now I can no longer log into Google Play Store. When I enter my username and password, it says my username or password is not correct. I have tried many times. I can log into my Google account without problems from other devices, so I know I am using the correct credentials.
After reading this thread, I guess I need to update the Play Services app. But obviously I cannot do this directly from the Play Store because I cannot log into it from the TV. Also, I cannot find any type of File Manager app on the TV, so I cannot even install the Play Store app from a USB drive, nor can I install a File Manager app.
Also I tried switching on two-step verification on my Google account, but this made no difference.
I tried clearing the Play Services app cache on the TV, but it did not help.
I switched on the Developer options and allowed unknown sources and USB debugging, then I tried to connect with adb over wifi. But it doesn't work, adb says "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". No message is displayed on the TV to accept the incoming connection.
Maybe there is another way to connect the pc to the TV with a USB cable ... maybe with a type-A to type-A (male to male)? Would that cause a problem due to both devices trying to output 5V over the cable? (Also I don't have such a cable at present.)
Please, any useful suggestions would be much appreciated.
on every reboot(tv) I had to toggle usb debugging off and then on again for adb connect to work, perhaps you can try that. but I had slightly different error, just saying unable to connect.

Hi man, i have the same TV and had the same problem. To fix this you have to unplug the TV and try 1 or two times. I did everything by Wi-Fi, after reading your post i purchased the USB cable but was not necessary.
I did this way:
1 opened cmd or powershell runned as administrator
2 runned adb connect xxxxx (IP address of TV)
3 accepted on the TV pop-up the connection
4 downloaded google service apk from apk mirror
5 used adb install -r xxxxx (location googleservic.apk dowloaded)
It worked! I tried in first attempt sideload -r but didn't worked. You have to use the command "install -r" to reinstall google service.
hi guys, i have a 55put6400 with the same problem, which version of the play services should i download, v7 or v8?
I did not understand how to use the adb install-r command, where do I find the apk file downloaded in the pc?
thank you
Hi,
you can also try:
- reinstall TV
- short install TV with network connection
- wait 1-2 hours (TV is on) and do not press any key
- TV should download the latest Google services in the background
[email protected]
unfortunately the tv has been turned on much more than an hour and does not update the play services, i will update it manually shortly
edit thanks for the explanation, I updated the services and everything works.

šta je 2FA i kako da ga omogućim jer na PHILIPS tv imam ovaj problem sa prijavom na nalog?
HI,
2FA = 2 factor authentication - you need to set this up in your Google Account.
Turn on 2-Step Verification - Computer - Google Account Help
With 2-Step Verification, also called two-factor authentication, you can add an extra layer of security to your account in case your password is stolen. After you set up 2-Step Verification, you can s
support.google.com
[email protected]
2 step verification is on but I still can't login to PHILIPS android tv showing email error and google account password
