Hello All,
I'm trying to figure out how to get pokemon go on my kindle fire. Is there a link or step by step process?
I just learned how to ROOT the kindle fire 6.3.4. root but when I try to install a pokemon go.apk file it say "Parse error"
Can anybody point me in the right direction. I don't know if the android rom on it is up to date.
I'm very new to all this.

Kindle fire 1st gen not only has no camera but also runs android 2.2.3 which is not compatible with pokemon go
There is a way that i did it;
Go to pokemongoforkindlefire.com on your kindle fire
Follow the instructions on the website, it will tell you how to get google play
Once you have google play download google maps
After you have downloaded google maps download pokemon go
Next go to settings > wireless > location based services and turn it on and make sure pokemon go and google maps are enabled too.
Launch google maps and press the current location icon
Exit google play, start pokemon go and enjoy

I haven't tried this, but I am sure if it does work, you will not be able to use the AR capability due to the fact that the Kindle Fire 1st gen. has no camera.
Can't even download fom Google Play store.
How do I get around that?
What if it says no Gps signal but everything is on

Sorry to bump my own post but has nobody figured out a way this can be done?
You will do all this on your laptop/desktop and not on your FTV.
First log into https://mygoogle.google.com
STEP 1:
Next, once logged in, scroll down to "Recent Activity". In that section, click on "Devices". (Direct link is https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity ). Click on your device and click on "Remove".
I am not sure if you need to do Step2. Once done with the first step, reboot your FTV and fire up Google Play and if it auto logs in, perform step 2.
STEP 2:
Next, go back to https://mygoogle.google.com Scroll down to "Connected Apps and Services" and click on "Account Permissions". (Direct link is https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions ). Click on your device and click on "Revoke Access" on the right.
Reboot your FTV and Google Play should ask you to re-enter your password (or at this time, you can change your email for a different account)
NOTE: I did just Step 2 and my FTV logged out of Google Play. I did not see the menu item in Step 1 while I was playing with it But it looks like Step 1 should do the trick. If not, do both steps. Reboot your FTV to test before you go back into Google Play.
Ive Now Figure this Out thanks

I don't believe gstore works properly yet, until we can stop it from updating. Once you install it, it works once. When you close it, it auto updates.
Maybe it needs few file permissions changed ?

Someone posted on the Recovery v2 page in I believe Original Android Development section.. I'm at work so I can't post links but it has been confirmed by at least 2 people to work...
Edit: I take that back.. It's in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/development/firetv-2-recovery-t3309780
Someone posted a link in there where to get the files on the last page I believe it is...

I do not think so. You will need to flash xposed-v80-sdk22-arm64 first, side load XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk and then run it however like the other explained above google store is not working at the moment.

i could swear reading somewhere (not sure if was from rbox) a few weeks ago they had play store working but were holding off with posting instructions since it was difficult.
either way, i tried old methods including sideloading play store, play services, account manager and play framework with no luck lol
At the moment I have Play Store for Android TV working on my FTV 2. Here is what I have done.
1) Install Xposed Framework (http://forum.xda-developers.com/fir...2-recovery-t3309780/post65217545#post65217545)
2) Flash Open Gapps (http://opengapps.org/) Use ARM64 for Android 5.1. I used the nano version that includes search. You need to flash this in recovery.
3) Install the HDXposed module (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2618158)
At this point you have the Google Service Framework and Play Store installed, however, for some reason the latest Play Store is not working; it says that it is not compatible with the device. You can sideload an older version of the play store (e.g. 5.12.10) that will let you browse for apps but I was not able to download and install any apps. Now to the good news. I sideloaded the Play Store for Android TV. The latest version (6.0.2) has some issues and only shows the Top apps (although you can search for apps) but the previous version (5.10.31) works great. It gives you full access to all the Android TV apps and you can directly install them!
You can download the Play Store apk here:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/
For the Android TV version select the leanback version.
One additional note. I also installed the Market Helper(http://codekiem.com/2013/02/13/market-helper/) where you can select TV as a device ID for the Play Store. I am not sure it is needed but might be.
This will all need more testing but it's a promising step forward. Most Android TV apps I have tried so far work great with the Fire TV remote and game pad and there are some exciting new games such as GT Racing 2 that you can install directly!
Edit: Added correct link for the HDXposed thread.

Were you actually able to get apps to install? I have Play Store running, but every app install throws an error 976.
I did have to use Titanium Backup to remove the Play Store installed by the gapps package. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.
How are you starting the play store? I had to use a 3rd party launcher to get it to start for me.

Play Store shows up in FireStarter after I side loaded the lean back version. It did take some keyboard work to get my Google credentials entered. You can't use a mouse to move around the login screens and the "Accept" button doesn't highlight when the keyboard focuses on it.
I can launch it from the Apps section in the Fire TV menu or from Fire Starter. I have installed several apps. Only one or two gave me a 940 error but clearing the Cache and Data for the Play Store solved that. The store does have some issues. I looked at some screenshots from the Play Store on other devices and realized that many app sections are not showing. I also had a few crashes. But you can use the search to find apps and then install them. At the moment you also need to re-install the Play Store after every reboot, maybe removing the system apps would solve that. Work in progress, maybe others have some ideas.
I can't get past the log in screen in play store.
The cursor while using the mouse just dissapears.
On every other app works fine but I just can use the dpad on Google Settings or Google Play which isn't good enough.
I now have play store and xposed working.. downloads working just fine for me.. have it loading to google tv launcher (cant even figure out how to get back to fire tv menu at all but im not complaining haha)
Does the leanback youtube work?

How did you do this?
I flashed xposed from recovery booted installed the xposed apk installed the hdxposed module, activated it, rebooted, flashed open gapps nano arm64 5.1. But now I can't open play store at all ... Looks like version compatibility error. I tried to side load leanback but that just errors instantly and doesn't install. Same with the older version of the normal play store.
I've side loaded the latest apk but when I open it, it's saying it needs google play services to run. Is their any non rooted workarounds to this? I just want to use my free trial on my fire stick lol thanks in advance
followed the instructions here to get google services working

Hi,
I have Firestick 4K 2019 version, would it be possible to run subway surfers.
KIndly help.
Note: I dont have google play store installed on firestick yet. I request a solution without google play store.
Thanks,
If you have it installed on your phone, you can sideload it using apps2fire. Go in the fire TV settings, select "my fire tv", then go in "developers option" and finally, enable both options there, allow ADB and installing apps from unknown sources. Go in the apps2fire app, go to the "install" tab (the last one) then search for your device. Go back to the first tab, find the app you want to install, select it, then tap install. I can't guarantee that the app will work, as I don't think it's even in the android tv play store, and the app is made for screens in portrait mode. If it works some menus will probably only accept touch input, though you can sidestep that by using a Bluetooth mouse.
Thanks, I will try this and let you know if it works.
I am able to install the application but it didnt launch, I can notice that it is trying to change orientation.
Then installed set orientation apk and but the firestick in portratit mode , still no luck.
Anything else you suggest ?
Thanks for your suggestion
I installed Google Duo via the latest version of Aptoide TV on my Fire TV Stick 4K. When Duo starts it asks all the normal security/permission questions. However, when I attempt to Sign In, the screen clears and goes back to the Aptoid TV.
I also tried installing Duo directly to the Fire TV Stick via the Downloader app using the following address that I found: https://bit.ly/2UT2UZX However, I think this link has been taken down.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or found a solution?
Thanks!
Since it's a google application, you probably need the google play services, you can find ways to install them here.

I found the other apk's on APKMirror. After installing in an order I found somewhere else that they should be install in, the stick now just reboots over and over. Now I dont even know how to reset the stick if I can't get to the menu. What a mess.
