did you do what it says to do...?
another option is to root and install recovery and install a custom 5.0 rom but they aren't 100% stable yet, however they will get better and better as time goes on.
another option to increase performance is rooting and install a custom recovery then install a thermal throttle mod.
P.S. when you buy a random phone from a random person online you don't exactly get a guarantee that the person in question didn't damage it in some way. If you are getting lag before the phone even heats up that's not a good sign seeing as it runs at 2.5ghz until it hits the first thermal throttle interval (60c) i think. Always beware when buying open box devices online from unauthorized retailers or without warranty. If someone bought the device and is already reselling it, odds are they did something to it and you probably don't want it.

Last week, LG G3 notified me of software upgrade, I was running 10i at that time. So I went ahead and upgraded. I was expecting to get 10L but somehow it upgraded from 10i to 10J. So now I am running V10J-SEA-XX. I am not able to get OTA update as it shows that I am running the latest version which is not true. It shows last update on 24th Oct 2014. I am in India, phone was purchased from Dubai.
In hope to get 10L, I installed the LG Mobile Software Tool and to my pleasant surprise, it showed me an upgrade. I started the upgrade process, it download 1136.13MBytes of upgrade and started upgrading my phone. It failed in first attempt and it prompted me to remove battery, restart and press retry button which I did.
On Second attempt, everything went smooth, phone was rebooted in the firmware download mode, I could see 0-100% progress and the entire upgrade completed as expected.
However, when phone was restarted, I see that I am still on the same software, V10J-SEA-XX. It even shows last update on 24th Oct 2014 ( OTA date). I restarted LG Mobile Software Tool and it again shown the update available. When I choose to upgarde, it again downloaded the same 1136.13MBytes file. This time upgrade process completed in first time itself. Unfortunately, I am still on the same version.
Any help will be appreciated.

Well, I saw a few threads, not sure the one you suggested but that solution is possibly applicable if the device was not recognized. Here I could see the progress on both LG tool and mobile so both are communicating fine. Pls correct me if I am wrong.
Anyway, changed the port to COM41 and trying again.
Update: Repeated the entire procedure with COM41. This solution doesn't work. I am still on the same V10J-SEA-XX.
.
Bump...can anyone help?
Thanks
Same Problem
Hi there sorry I can't help but I have the same problem.
Live in the UK but purchased an SEA version. Didn't realise it would cause me such an issue.
Unfortunately, I don't want to root my phone as it will possibly disable my Barclays Bank Mobile Banking app which is pretty useful to me.
My only hope is that LG will upgrade the SEA version to L when it does all the other regions as well.

Someone asked lg uae this question and what they have said is that the v10j or which ever one youve got for the region of ur phone is the same as the other regions' v10L or v10n and it isnt more advanced than ur version of v10...
(I cant post links because i am a new user)

Hi XDA users.
I've recently bought a new lg, the internatinal version. Now, I have the SEA firmware. I got an update from the LG PC Suite for version V20B. I wonder if I should update my device, since it's a new one and I still have my warranty.
Also, I am not at home most of the time, and I cant go fixing it during most of the week, so is it safe? are there any memory leaks like some people reported?
Thanks in advance.

Updating stock official LG Firmware through OTA or LG PC Suite does NOT void your warranty, only rooting does but you can get warranty back by unrooting. If you plan to root it then you shouldn't upgrade yet because right now it G3 can't be rooted when it's running stock LG Lollipop. If you don't care about rooting then you should definitely update with LG PC Suite, it's safe, it's fast, it's very good. My G3 was like a new phone. I would strongly suggest doing an factory reset after flashing for maximum smooth experience.

I just upgraded my D855 SEA version from v10k to v20b. All good, but then LG PC Suite wanted to upgrade again to v20b-L, but this time it went thru the upgrade and ended in a bootloop. I had to factory reset to fix it, and now its back on KitKat...
Just going thru the upgrade again now to lollipop....

Thx for the answer, though that my warranty isn't the ordinary one, my phone is from a private store and I don't quite sure about their policy, I would check it.

Thx for the answer, do you have any memory leaks? is it possible to restore back to kitkat without losing my warranty? and does it work for you now? should i factory reset it before updating?

Too early for memory leaks - that was specific to the Nexus 5 anyway i think.
Dunno about warranty stuff. To my knowledge using PC Suite is covered by warranty.
Lollipop works ok now. Took ages though to upgrade. From my terrible experience, i'd probably recommend a factory reset first, but you shouldnt have to.

And, are you suggesting me to upgrade? Is it much better? What improvements should I see in terms of speed and battery?
Thanks in advance.

Hi All Happy New Year
I also have SEA version LG G3, saw the new prompt via PC Suite to upgrade to 20b, however came across the following error message "unable to continue analysis of environment". Would appreciate if anyone can help point out any potential problem?
Thank you

Try upgrading with LG Flash Tool 2014.
Use this guide and links, make sure you download the right firmware and If you have 32GB phone make sure you DON'T try to flash the 16GB Firmware.

Its up to you. I like the lolliop notifications and Trusted Places functionality. I dont know about battery, i only just upgraded a few hours ago.
Please bare with me as I am only 15 and know little to nothing about Android as I have been a Apple user my whole life. For Christmas my parents ordered me a used unlocked AT&T LG Optimus G Pro off of eBay and I am using it with NET10. I really, really want to upgrade it from Jelly bean to Kit Kat or whatever the new operating system is but every time I do it tells me I can't because it says ". I have downloaded the This device is suspected of rooting. Software update is not available for rooted device. app, Super SU which has the option to do a " Full Unroot". If I do this will this fix the problem and let me update my phone without locking it back to AT&T or bricking it? I am really worried about this, and locking my phone back to AT&T. When I first got the phone it would not even give me the option to update since the update comes from AT&T servers so I put an un-registered AT&T sim in my phone temporarily and every since it has gave me the option to update.
you dont need the official firmware to upgrade this, check out the android development section and look for the roms.
also there s a guide around in the general section, how to flash a rom and do some stuff like rooting, recovery flashing etc.
you should bear yourself to read as much as possible. it s easier than you think even if it looks dangerous and so on. if u re going to unroot your device, that s fine but think about other possibilities if u dont unroot the device
edit: i assume u re alrwady rooted and have a custom recovery inside. DO NOT UPGRADE WITH LG OFFICIAL FIRMWARES or you brick your device.

Hi I bought a refurbished LG G4 and I set it up and used it for one day and it was great. But I went into the about section and noticed that it wasn't running Android 6.0 yet so I connected it to LG bridge and updated it through the program. Next thing I know after it finished updating it booted into encryption mode asking for a password. I try enter something and it goes to 29 attempts out of 30 if I try it again it just stays there and doesn't change or or go below 29 it has now randomly changed into Chinese too.
I contacted the company I bought it off and explained it to them and said there should have been an explanation in my package. But there wasn't.
It's not allowing me to boot into recovery and I have no idea what to do.
I used this phone for one day and spent a lot of money on this phone and I have no idea what I can do to fix this situation.

not sure if flashing stock firmware will help... now the question is what version of android has right now.?
you can try the back to stock guide... not sure if it will erase everything .. but if you going to downgrade lets say you took the last update antiroll back 3 you can only downgrade to a firmware that its the same antiroll back version.. the last update from my variant its v3.. so ask first... then download firmware flash an d hope its wipes all and start from scrath..

It says on the website that it's running Android 5.1.
I tried the KDZ method last night and I would get and error when the upgrage was at 9%.
It's a refurbished phone, if that makes all the difference?

Hey, i own an israeli H815L G4. Im currently running MM 6.0 , and i want to root my phone so in order to do that I need to downgrade my phone to LP . I have someone who uploaded his v10K rooted img, so all I need is a v10k stock of H815L and I cant find it anywhere. Also, I managed to find some v10H downloads, but none worked. looks like I came late to the party. Another question : If ill install the rooted img v10k I mentioned on my 6.0 MM , what will happen? will it work?
Please help, thanks.
You're In Luck
Hi there, I also own an Israeli LG G4 (H815L) and somehow I still have a H815L v10f kdz (5.1)
I am just notifying you that i am uploading it to a website and I'll PM you the link later
Lucky you, not afraid of loosing your warranty/ don't have a warranty.
TBH, if I knew there was no such defect as "The bootloop problem" i would of rooted my phone too.
you can't know with LG, i heard even a few G5 users got the defect :/
EDIT: You will have to OTA till you reach V10K tho, also, I downgraded once because of battery life issues, and this kdz worked for me.
Uploading right now
Wow! Thank you very much!
Just so you know, my phone died before and the motherboard already replaced once, to a 6xx serial num .. Im not sure the problem wont come back tho, but if it would, Im pretty sure that LG wouldnt even notice that my phone is rooted, since it wont even start-up.. so I'm taking my chances.
A question about needing to OTA to v10k, is it possible? I mean, wont it just "jump" to the most validated version there is ? (using LG Bridge)
Thanks again man .

Do the OTA through the actual phone, not LG Bridge.
You are correct, LG Bridge would jump you to the most validated version of this country (In Israel it would be V20D, but using kdz you can push officialy to UK V20H or Poland V20I)
But, in OTA, on the actual phone, it will jump you from version to version.
So, from V10F to V10G (you get the point).
Also my internet died on me a few mins ago so i have to restart the upload, so it should be done in an hour approximately. happy to help by the way
Edit: Hopefully i don't fall asleep by then lel. its 1:35 am here XD (Israel time zone is ****ed next to other countries, if you live here, then you probably know that already.)
