L3 G3 Lollipop V20e can be rooted? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can you tell my if it's possible to root the v20e version on a LG G3 smartphone?

No way to currently root lollipop on LG g3, you need to install rooted ROM, downgrade to kitkat, root and install TWRP recovery... Then install any of the rooted lollipop ROM.

everybody has waiting for working root

"plz i want to know why i can't root it "
BEcause there isn't a root method available for 5.0 as of now.

We don't know
If you want root, you either wait till a root method is available for 5.0, or you use Kitkat, or when you're on kitkat you root and install TWRP and after you've installed TWRP install one of the many custom lollipop roms which include root.

The fastest solution is to downgrade to KitKat, root, install prerooted version of lollipop.

[Q] Rooting question

Do I need to unlock LGG3 just to have it rooted? My rooting is only for apps that work for rooted phones. I won't be installing a custom rom.

If you don`t want to install a custom rom you cannot run a rooted stock Lollipop rom as it cannot be rooted atm, only KK can be rooted.

For the international D855 for instance you don`t need to unlock the bootloader, just root it with PurpleDrake (i used that and it works well) and (optional install a custom recovery (TWRP 2.8.4.0) to flash the latest superSU.zip or customs roms/kernels) or install the superSU app from Play. What model do you have?

I have the Verizon VS985 kitkat 4.4.2. Titanium Backup Pro is the reason for my rooting. Nothing else.

I would only root if there we`re things i could not do without root, if everything works as you need it there is basicaly no need to root .
the phone runs well on the 20F rom imo as is out of the box.

There is currently no way to root stock lollipop unless your running custom recovery which is impossible unless your KitKat
Only way is to install bumped lollipop package

[Q] Question about lollipop and kit kat roms

Hello everyone I am a new to android and flashing roms on kit kat and lollipop. Right now I have a stock LG G3 D851 (T-mobile) running android 4.4.2 kit kat. I plan on rooting this phone but I need to clear something up first. If I root my 4.4.2 phone and install twrp, could I flash CM 12.1 or Cloudy G3 2.3 or would I have to update to official lollipop 5.x.x, root, install twrp, then flash those roms?

You do not have to update before installing new roms. After your rooted, intalled Twrp and so on, you are good to go.
Make sure you read all about rooting and flashing rooms before doing so. The guides here are very helpful. Even if you have done it before each phone has its own process.
