I have the HTC One 8 and its rooted with TWRP 2.8.1.0 and its say 0 space left on my sd card ..there is no ROM installed at all i may have accidentally wiped the data, I all i want to know is how can i get a ROM back on it?
Do you have an external SD card? If so download a ROM to it, put it in your phone, and from recovery do a full wipe before flashing.

That worked. Thanks. I just got the m8,, had a m7. The m8 is waaay better on so many levels. Great battery life, 100% faster. Plus the invaluable SD card slot. Thanks again.

Hi, my phone got bricked using GPart live to turn my ext 2 into a 3 partition. Everything went fine using the program, turned off Usb storage, went into market and tried to download a program, when it started to install the screen when black.
Now I cant boot with sdcard in, I don't come past the white HTC screen
Without SDcard it starts loading the system but the loading is a never ending loop.
Tried to format SD with fakeflash, dosent help
Tried reflashing my rom with wipe and everything, dosent help
Any ideas?
did you convert it while the phone was in Android or while it was in recovery?

yes that would be why

you should have thought about it.
only thing I can think of is trying to flash a official HTC RUU update so you will get back to stock and will have to re-root.
If you have wiped everything and re-flashed then I dont know what else to suggest.

Yeah, I guess that its my best chance. Do you know which files that has to be on the SD for fake-flash and where I can find them?
just need the update.zip on the root of the card.
Have u tryed using AM recovery?
If u load it like the clockwork recovery u can partiotion your sd-card in recovery mode,
works every time for me ;-)
http://www.multiupload.com/61STV8CPHL <-- fake flash version just like clockwork but whit partitioning options.

Yes that could work, if the ROM you have flashed requires a ext partition, it will boot loop if you dont have a SD card in. So use clockwork to re-partition the card with a ext.

Im on DeFrost right now, does it require ext? I have to find a micro sd reader then I get right on partitioning.
Edit: I've been thinking if this don't work. Is it possible for someone to make an image of their full rom so that I can try and flash that? Because what I've understood the ones that are up for downloading e.g. DeFrost are not 100% complete.
Maybe some developer know's what could cause a boot loop so I (with some help) could make a flash containing just those files.
u can also try booting recovery, mount SD-USB..
remove update.zip from your root sd.
Place the file i posted above in your root (rename to update.zip ofc's)
Restart phone and enter recovery again (now u get a new recovery) go to partition menu and repartition your SD.
I loooove this forum! Thanks for all the help people, reformat the sd solved my problem. Thanks a thousand times!
HI,
I have a rooted Desire running Pinky Rom
I recently bought a new 16GB card and am having problems with i. I formatted it throught the recovery menu and have copied over all the files from the old SD card.
However, now when I put in the new card the phone gets stick on the White HTC initial screen.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
(The old SD card was partitioned but I was going to do that through ROM manager and restore my apps through Titanium)
Thanks
That'll be the problem, old data needed by the ROM will be on the old SD card. You'll need to wipe and start again (or partition it using Amon RA/GParted)

So basically go into Recovery, and wipe everything, and then try and re-install the ROM using the new card?
Just a wipe should be fine - the ROM should then start and you can then partition it. I'd, personally, change to Amon RA and partition it before the first boot of the ROM but that's just me...
I say this in that it should work after a wipe BUT I'd wait for confirmation first. I assume if you put your old card in it works fine?
Yeah old card works as normal.
Will try the wipes (left the new card at home so will have to wait until after work!)
Never heard of Amon RA so will google that now and try and figure out what it is!
It's another custom recovery, like Clockwork Mod...I use it now as it has more options than Clockwork Mod - search for it on here, it's in the Developers forum
Amon-ra is arguably the best recovery around and on many android devices is the only option (or the only option everyone uses).
Excuse my ignorance, but it is an app that I download?
No, its a custom recovery like Clockwork Mod

Right,
I wiped it, and then the phone got by the white screen. I had to reset my APN settings as they were blank but managed that.
But I am now getting an Error manage when I try and connect to WIFI.
I have searched around here and all the problems seem to relate to updates to 2.2 and gold cards.
My phone was already on 2.2 and I have never used a goldcard in my life....not even sure what one is.
Anyone any ideas how to fix this??
Thanks guys
After flashing CM9.
I turn on it few seconds later it reboots
I have tried CM9,9.1,10.ALL has the same problem
WHAT CAN I DO NOW:crying:
What recovery (CWM) version do you have installed?
Did you try flashing a baseband from here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842763

Remove and reinsert SIM card and SD card (while phone is off), and try again.
Is there any ROM that you've used that did work?
What exactly did you do leading up to when the problem first started?

I too had the reboot issues even after installing almost all ROMs including stock as well as CM series. However, thanks to instructions from DRUMIST, my phone is stable now. I think the problem is with the SD card. If you see LOST.DIR in your SD Card, it indicates some bad sectors or wrong formatting .The steps I did to resolve this issue are :-
1. Removed the SD card from phone, inserted in Laptop and did a FULL FORMAT (Not Quick format). [It may take some time]
2. Re-inserted SD card and Flashed Official LG V20c using OTA update method ( Using LG Tools ).
No reboots since 7 days of heavy usage.
Thanks again to drumist for advice

Glad you got your problem solved. However I should mention that Android will always create the LOST.DIR folder on your SD card if it doesn't already exist. Just the folder being there is not a problem -- however, if there is anything inside it, that means there was some data corrupted at some point. Most people should have nothing inside that folder.

So formatting it from CWM wouldn't have worked then? I would assume that would have been easier.

Possibly, but I personally suggest using SD Formatter which is a program that will do a better job of formatting an SD card than either Windows or CWM.
When I go into recovery to try and get my gapps zip there are not any files. Mounting and formatting sd card from cwm recovery does nothing for me. Im affraid if i try to factory resest and then go back and flash a different rom then i will be left with a brick. Any tips or suggestion very appreciate. Thank you

Ive had the same issue. CWM does not see my sd card so I had to put all the files onto the internal memory. i was still be to root and install roms.
I wiped flashed file but it keeps booting into the modified TWRP RECOVERY? Stuck at this point.
Anyone have any ideas?
I was on TWRP 2.4.1 Newest version
MA5 Stock Deodexed MA5 Firmwares
OK Now a little freaked out. I can't get to billards file or any of my back ups because they were on my external sd card!!!! I hate trying to learn new stuff (old dog)
I'm so used to HTC and when I think I have a grasp of Sammy I F&ck it up!
Oh yeah and my back ups on PC are gone because of hard drive crash! FFFFUUUUDDDDGGGGEEEE!!!!!!!
Any help to get me back to where I was before I flashed this thing would be very much appreciated. Hell I'll take a bootable ROM of any kind. Sweating bullets!
I have the mskips 3.0 toolkit can that help? I scared ****less to do anything!
I don't have ideas of why. But if you have ROM, try flashing it and see if it'll boot. Then at least you can get the rom you want later and maybe your backups.
No Rom on Phone

It's (TWRP) not showing anything under the external sd card and I'm not sure how to mount the external sd card? Under mount there are some options problem is this is a modified version of TWRP 2.3.2.3 or something close to that. Just confused on how to just get a stock rom back on the thing?
thank you very much for your reply

I had this problem a few times. I know I solved it by just flashing back to stock and formatted everything. I know that's probably excessive and you'll lose a lot of info but it's better than having a very expensive paper weight. Lol

I can't see anything on my sd card and since this is some sort of modified version of TWRP it can only see what's on the internal memory. But none of my back ups are on the internaland whenever it rebooots it always boots the the modified version of TWRP. Really stumped i don't know adb so I don't know if I can even push anything to the phone?
Don't mind losing data no biggie there but I'm like you don't want it totally hosed.
Thanks Charles
Use odin to flash latest twrp over the funky one. Then use real twrp to access sd card. Also before that, remove sd card and copy contents to new hard drive using a card reader.

Copying files now. Quick question/advice If I can see my old TWRP file in my internal memory could I flash that file with this weird modified version of TWRP? Then I could flash any file from my sd card stock or custom ROM. If not to flash the TWRP file in Odin do I place it in PDA the slot and which buttons do I need to check (reboot etc)?
Wait I can't use Odin because my PC can't recognize or see my phone because of this modified version of TWRP. Damn it!
My apologies for the noob questions just scared ****less to do anything.
My sd card is wiped clean
So I could put a file on sd card but this modified version of TWRP can't see my external sd card.
Thank you for your time
Charles
To use odin you have to put the phone in "download mode" not recovery. It's a special mode different from recovery or OS or bootloader. Power off the phone and press & hold UPvol+home+power until you get the download mode screen.
It doesn't matter what kind of recovery or anything else you have. It works even with no recovery or kernel or bootloader or OS at all.
Get the tar version of openrecovery 2.4.1.0 (or whatevers latest you future readers). Don't unpack the tar.
Uncheck reboot.
Use the PDA button, select the downloaded tar.
After flashing is done and it says 1 success 0 error, bpull the battery.
This next is annoying and I can't really believe there is no better way, but I need to do it this way or else the newly flashed recovery doesn't "take" and I have to flash it again. Just once the first time after flashing. After that no problem. Anyway, hold DOWNvol+home+power, and while holding all those, put the battery back in.
Now you should have a good fully functional useful TWRP recovery that you can use to flash all kinds of things from the sd card, backup all kinds of things to the sd card, access the internal main OS flash drive, the internal "sdcard" and external sdcard, etc.
