some guy sold me a demo version of the note 4, I want to know if its possible that i can change my firmware using odin so i can remove the retail mode and use the phone as a normal phone. where as i can also make phone calls?
Did you try flashing stock firmware?
Sent from my bandaid smelling s-pen
how much did you buy it for?
Let's see... At the store a while back, on a Nexus tablet, I went to recent apps, it showed demo mode, I long pressed it, pressed app info, and then uninstalled it. I was then able to use it normally. Hopefully, that'll work for you.

Hmm... Except, on the Note 4, long pressing things in recent apps only gets you to the popup thing. Maybe there's a way to disable that. Or, can you get to application manager? If you can, look for demo mode and uninstall it. Oh, or do a factory reset from recovery. That will almost certainly fix it.

Hopefully something's not set right in some obscure configuration somewhere? Otherwise...
...I'm highly annoyed with this new ICS "feature" that opens the call history screen after any phone call completes. What idiot thought that would be a good thing to do?
I want the phone to do what Android used to do -- return to whatever was in the foreground when the call came in. Or when making a call, whatever was in the foreground when I made the call (think of direct dial shortcuts in the launcher, for example).
Please tell me there's some way around this f*ckture that Google so kindly added.
My phone never opens call history after a phone call unless I was already in the phone app,.......

Hmmm... maybe it's related to Go Launcher?
I'll try some experiments comparing the stock launcher to GO, and report back.
Maybe give On Call End a try: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.brosix.callend&hl=en
Hopefully the "Do Nothing" option works for you, but I haven't tried it.
I have the same issue. Anyway to resolve without installing 3rd party apps?
I have the exact same issue.
after a phone call, the histroy shows up by itself.

Just delete the asterisks, I don't know how else I'm supposed to link the video. If you need to delete it mods, go ahead. Just search for "Galaxy S3 Video Display Issues" by the user Brocsta876.
As you can see, barely tapping the back of the phone to the cable would kill the display. Sometimes it would have a purple hue, other times it would have a bunch of scan lines and eventually would just go black and wouldn't come back until I pulled the battery or held home + power. It also tends to straight up power down randomly. Obviously I have a defective model, but has anybody else seen anything similar to this?
The only thing I've done to the phone is rooting it, no custom firmware or anything like that has been installed. I'll be returning it to the Sprint store tomorrow, but in the mean time I was wondering if I should unroot the device?
If so, are there any instructions on JUST un-rooting a stock OS with nothing else done to it? No firmware period has ever been flashed on the phone.
I've got the phone insurance AND I'm within the 14-day cancellation period, so I don't anticipate any issues, even with the phone rooted. But I'd rather be on the safe side.
Thanks for any help!
Use QBKing77 How to unroot/unbrick. Pretty much make it like it was it out of the box.

Hello!
Was just wondering if you followed the suggested unrooting method and if there was any change to your phone or did you simply return it?
Thanks!

I haven't returned the phone yet, I'll be going back to the store in about 9 hours. And thank you for the quick response Speedin07si. I actually found a "temporarily disable root access" in the SuperUser app that is installed with the root. I also installed Voodoo OTA RootKeeper and it says that I do not currently have the device rooted after disabling it in SuperUser app.
I should be alright (hopefully) at the store. I know the salesman who sold it to me knew all about rooting and was cool with it and stuff. Let's just hope I can get a new one without any fuss.

Found this post with an app that allows changing the capacitive buttons. It works, may require reboot to take affect.

Is your battery Power saver on? if it is it will prevent the captivate buttons from lighting up!

What is weird is I have read complaints of the Tmobile Versions
lighting up every time the main screen is touched....
One extreme and the other.
It's supposed to do that.

So a couple of weeks ago my motor went out, completely dead. Then a couple of days ago it would come back for like 6 secs then it would go away. Is there a trick that I can do for it to make it stick? I don't really want another device because I have already paid over 100 in the past to s-off my previous phone lol. I know I could probably have it sent in but I can't be without a phone due to my job. Thanks guys
Have you used the HTC test mode to toggle and test the individual parts of the device ?
You mentioned s-off...which obviously means you have flashed software and/or firmware to the device..
That being said....a test session on the device may reveal a working motor....but your current software or OS condition may be causing a failure...
Another area you should check is powersave mode...when enabled will shut down your vibration mode...
Yet another area to check...
If rooted and running any application that affects battery or usage of the battery can trigger a false power save...
Wakelocks can also cause running issues..
A lot to ponder there...but a few areas need to be looked at before we decide that your device is defective...especially if it's modified at all...g
---------- Post added at 09:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 PM ----------
Edit:
Could you tell us the current software you are running ??
Device model ?
Recovery ?
Basically a general overview of the device will help immensely...g

I'm running viper 4.2.1
Htc m9
Twrp - latest Verizon
I don't have any apps that affect the kernel or anything. I didn't think about wake locks. Thanks for the help!
Oh I have run the test, it won't vibrate. If I shake the device and run the test it will vibrate for a few seconds. Ugh.. I'm trying to get over it lol
Dang...
Looks like your homework is done on it..
Could be a genuine failure...
One last option...if you like a lot of work....lol
Flash a bone stock RUU...and you'll know for sure...
I did that last week when my prox sensor freaked out...
It was a dirty flash...and the reflash fixed it..
This M9 is the most finicky device I've ever used...
Your call of course...g
It's just the motor. I've read about loads of faulty ones especially on launch devices.
Mine works but barely. You can't ever feel it in your pocket or hear it if it vibrates on a table or anything.
For a flagship device....that motor should be a forever working deal...
HTC went cheap on several parts in this device it would seem...g
I just sent mine in for this. Covered by warranty they said. Supposedly they aren't going to use my uh oh replacement

Hi friends,
when I turn on my huawei watch it doesn't receive notifications from phone but it is connected.
Sometimes I resolve with the phone restart.
Have you some ideas?
Many thanks.
Same here. Need to reboot watch to get them again.
Mike
Is it a problem of the watch?
Dang just came here for same issue. Only way to get it back is reset watch. It's happened 3-4 times. Not sure what causes it. My watch was in theater mode before I go to sleep, maybe being in theater mode to long causes it,? Just reset phone yesterday, today no notifications......dang everything was perfect on this watch. Now this....bummer.

OK just put watch into airplane mode then took it off. Started working again. First time. Usually that doesn't fix it.

We see that you have tried a factory reset, yet your problem with your Huawei smartwatch persists. We suggest you call Huawei support at 1-888-548-2934 for further assistance. (SP)
Problem showed up after google play services update. You need to install older version to have it working again.
Mike
Hi friends, since few days my smartwatch is working fine.
What do you think?
Google fixed a bug.

this works, but temporarily ... Google Play Services updates invisibly sneak in and there's no way to block them ... you can install older version, but a few days or hours later the update will find you again ... you know when they sneak in because battery life drops and you get lots of connection hiccups until they are done AND you've rebooted your phone+watch a few times for the updates to settle in comfortably with everything their roots tap into. (warning: interrupting this process with uninstalls or factory resets starts the process over = ugly cycle and unhappy owner)
expect your phone or watch (or both) to 'have sick days' after flashing AND every month or so when Google Play Services gets updated on watch or phone (or both)
Huawei connection problem
I had the same issue, but i think It is related with the face i was using, uninstalling any 3rd party face apps and only using the Factory ones solved the problem for me.
