Hello guys recently.i been having some baterry isues with my s3 ...the battery has been draining really quickly even when my phone charges... da battery is going crazy ....so recently.i decided to buy a new battery but things just got worse in a matter of minutes my battery went from 84 to 20 then to 40 and last it shpwed 0 all in matter of 5 min after that my phone only booted up to samsung and then it shut off ....this morning i got it to boot normally by just leaving it alone overnight and putting da old battery in...can u you guys help me solve this issue i already have cleared the cache and dalvik cache but right now my battery is acting up again....maybe i need a new kernel or something....im currently on NE4 rooted and kst kernel ...can maybe some1 give me a new kernel or something or tell.me.the problem thnxxx.....theres screenshot with my device infor
Is it possible an app is running in the background that is causing the battery drain?
Well if it is i think something else might be the problem ...bacause my phone right now only charges when it wants to ... i plug in the charger and from 77 baterry life it will go omly up to 79 in 25 mins....i really dont know whats going on like i said my battery is going crazy it wont even charge up to a 100 it will only charge up to 79 ...my battery constantly keeps giving me.different numbers.....might xposed framework be the porblem???

maybe the connection between phone and cable. my wife's phone port is loose and battery never fully charges. we can here it 'click' occasionally like the charge cable is unplugging/plugging back in. (?)

I dont think so because when i unplug the charger and use the phone it starts going nuts like da battery will go up to 70 and bak down 24 and den to 36 ....and it will just keep giving random number till it goes to 0 and then it shuts off and it wont boot for like a few hours....any kernel sugguestions or any ideas ?

I tried it got worse battery cost me 50 bux lol...da new battery made it go even crazier man da fone would jusy shut off and not turn on bro... im using da old battery cause the new one only made things worse

Does this happen with all custom ROMs and a stock ROM?
Well i havent tried custom roms cause im not a fan .....but in on the NE4 STOCK ROOM ROOTED THE ONE enewman told me tp flash.... i flahed the rom and kernel bak in august ...i havent flashed anything since then...maybe theres something outdated that i should flash???
How about you posting the battery stats. Also maybe it's the charging port that has a problem? I used to have this problem where my battery would show 100%, but it would actually be something else. I bought an external battery charger and now it's perfectly fine.

Those are my battery stats as u can see my phone is at 0 and while its plugged in to charge idk what ls going on...im not sure if the battery is the problem or the phone ...any suggestions based on thse stats and thats my old battery im using cause the new battery just makes my phone go crazy....

I know there was an old threat of this.
But none of us fix this issue.
When I use the defy, there are always battery gap, no matter charging or discharge, which make me annoyed.
Example:discharge from 60% to 50% in 1 second.
And charge from 90% to 100% in 1 second.
I really hope there will be some developer to explain on this and give me a way to fix this.

yea .. same problem here ... nothing specific discussed anywhere .... though i think that the problem is with the battery now ( cause of frequent flashing of ROMS , restoring , ETC , the battery levels kept varying , and made the skips permanent )

maybe you can try this method,exhausted of battery power,let your phone shut off Automatically,then plug your phone,wait for led turn blue then perss Volume
Down,Enter Recovery->Stable Recovery->Advanced->Wipe Battery Stats,then Go Back->Power off,don't unplug your phone untill the battery is full charged,

nothing helps .. tried EVERY SINGLE THING AVAILABLE !!! ... but alas ! ..
My girlfriend has a GS3 love the phone but it has a serious battery drain. It doesn't matter if its a stock or custom rom. It is running stock 4.3 right now and the battery has gone from 100 to 83 in 3 hours. with 30 min screen time. I thought it was the battery so i got another Samsung battery and its not ant better. I tried to search but it seem the search funtion is not working because it gives me nothing no matter what I search for. Any sugestions would be great.

my phone doesn't know what 90% looks like
when its off it doesn't want to charge more than 85%
when its on and goes to 100% it goes into the 80s in no time

Sometimes when it's charging it says 100%, and then when I take the charger off it suddenly shows up 37%? WTF?

try a different charger or port
2nd updating from 4.3 from 4.1.2 has a big change to the phone how it works etc and by that the phone takes time to adjust to 4.3 thus getting bad battery drains, a week or two or a month and the battery will be as good as ever

It has been happening randomly since android 4.1.2 and still continuing on to android 4.3.

Get battery saver or juice defender this are two apps I have used to monitor my battery usage and they recommend to charge the phone to 100% and that will change as to how fast your battery dies
Letting the phone die and charging results to bad battery life while recharging phone at a timely manner increases battery life
Also note that GPS/WiFi/data/screen drains battery like crazy so fix those and you will notice a big difference

i'm really hoping someone can help me on this, i have a note2 that ive had for about 2 years, its been rooted for around 8 months but still on the stock ROM, the past month i have had a strange problem with the battery, when the battery runs out or gets low and i turn the phone off to charge it the large green battery icon comes up on the screen, but even though the battery is dead or just about, the large battery icon says its got about 75%?, it charges up and i wait until it reaches 100% before unplugging it.
But i know that it used to show the correct amount of charge in the battery and then gradually build up, i have tried various battery calibration apps but none seem to make any difference, i didnt think they would having read up on them but thought it was worth a try.
Do you think its the battery itself?, i just dont know what to try next

The battery charging doesnt work properley on modded bootloaders as far as I know. You need to charge while phone is booted.
aah, but it does charge when its powered down, and this problem only started about a month ago, yet the phone has been rooted a lot longer than that?

Hello guys ... Hope you help me with my cellphone... I have an Lg g3 d858hk since a year more or less... But I think it's the only phone that the battery last only 2 hours... I was on lollipop and flashed the MM last week... My phone gets very hot when I'm charging and when I'm using normaly ... I don't play games not even see Videos ... I've tried everything possible but nothing seem to work. I've put the thicker mod in conservative and the battery it's draining the same. So put the governor in power save and the cpu only at 300 mhz and the same problem. So I've concluded that the problem is not the cpu clock speed. My battery is relatively new . just 2 months . when u bought the phone my battery last 10 hours... But now only 2 . help me guys please . I'm getting crazy . I don't know what else to do.

Also, it gets very hot.
My Screen consumes over 45% in the battery usage section.

That is norml my screen uses 65 to 70 percent what that means is outa all bat used 45 is whT ure screen used so 55 is beeing used by other things u have to localolize it there. Same goes for man up top he needs to boot into safe mode see if it the system or apps now peep boot in safe mode u have to run it all day not just for a few. But in ure case i think u got a app running crazy try wakelock detector and see what keeping ure phone awake

I even factory reseted. Nothing fixed. Second Problem is slow charging. I calibrated the battery with an app and used a new charger and it takes 3 hours to charge. Isnt that still a lot time?Before it took like 10 hours from 4% to 100.
In Battery usage when im not using phone there is 51% "phone is idle" and 14% is "Mobile waiting"(cant post pic-new member) Any solutions? Why my battery is draining like crazy when Idle? Thanks in Advance.
Check also the USB cable. I had the same problem of slow charging and since the cable is crimped and not soldered it becomes "inefficient" (but still works) after some time.
About the battery life maybe it's going to die...

id check in battery settings and see whats using it first
your screen should be number 1 sitting anywhere from say 35 40 % or higher
you want your screen percentage as high as possible
which means apps and services arent using as much.
mine sits around 65 % screen usage with android and chrome being next highest on my device which is ok cause im always on chrome.
now for the slow charging try diffrent cables and chargers and check to see if any damage or debris in usb port
all this unles the battery is truly going bad and just cant charge and or hold charge anymore

As i said when my phone is dle, 51% of battery is taken from the "phone idle" and 14% from "cell standby" Anything you think can cause that?

Standby is time without signal if im not mistaken.
Next would be like trying wakelock detector or better batter stats to check ure wake locks cause sound like phones not going to sleep at all

My phone is not rooted tho, any apps i can use? i already used gsam monitor but it doesnt say anything at all. 51% phone idle is so much. in the night i can lose up to 35%!

Yea thats a lot. Wakelock detect can work without root on some decices. Install the lite edition and foolow the instrucs in th3 app. I have done it in a while but its a few adb commands i think. Nothin to bad to set up no root needed

Thanks i will try. But shouldn't the problem have been fixed after i factory reseted the phone? Does it matter if i factory reset from phone settings? I will let you know what happens after my phone charges.

Other thing i do is boot into safe mode and leave it there for a while. A day or two and thattll tel you if its in the system or a after market app. Then one by one reenable all your apps. But i prefer wakelock. How old is ypur battery and ure charging habbits

I will try to leave it in safe mode while im sleeping. If it still draining i will try to use the wakelock detector. My battery also is about 1.5 years old and i used to charge maybe once every 2 days. Now SOT is maybe 1-1.30 hours lol its draining like crazy when im not using it. Also it bootlooped once and got a motherboard replacement some months ago. I really need to find what is causing that. Ive tried everything like factory reset, wipe apps data, leave the phone in plane mode while sleeping.. Nothing fixed it.

Id try all that but sounds like time for a new battery. Theyre less than 10 dollars. And thats almost as old as mine mines about to that point but charges really fast and inget about 1.8 sot. I know mines the batttwry cause i use it in various phones and all about the same but im rooted debloated and already running all my optimizations

Yep probably will get a new battery if i see that nothing fix my problem as i already tried the things i mentionted above( factory reset etc)
