Far from perfect even with 5.01 v2 - Are we just paying to Alpha test the Moto 360 for Motorola?

Moto hardware Google software
i am pleased as punch with my purchase of this watch.
Me too. Battery life has improved since first launch and is not a problem anymore. I just wish the Moto 360 has an infrared blaster to control the TV and a speaker in case I want to take a call.

Does it use the speaker on the 360 or on the phone?

on the phone, so for example when you're in the car, just answer it automatically in speaker mode.
since the moto 360 does not have any speaker.. so yeah

Nope. That was a fine excuse with the first iteration of Android Wear, but 5.0.1 was supposed to fix a lot of things, and instead broke some core functionality. This isn't about bing an early adopter; it's about inexcusably poor Q/A and customer support.

It will take more than 5.0.1 to fix all issues and stabilize Android Wear. Heck, even Android KK 4.4.4 rollouts have bugs which require further updates to fix.

Hello everyone.
I have bought N7 2nd generation few days ago and I feel very uncomfortable with android 4.3.
Is there any solution for downgrade to 4.2 or lower?
No.

ahh yes that's true, there may be stuff out there that won't work on 4.3. Only thing i can say about that is to contact the dev and wait for an update to the app. i know that's not what you wanted to hear, sorry. other than that though how do you like it? i got mine a few days ago and its been fantastic, best android device i've ever owned

I am really content with my new android device nexus 7
But... i think stereo speaker isn't louder than I expected.
It seems to have similar volume level with another devices..
And headphone jack is too quiet for me.
It is pretty much quieter than my ex-device Samsung Galaxy S2.
Is that only problem of mine?
thats a good question, havent even tried the headphone jack yet, guess i will now

Some Korean apps... and sound mods like viper4android.
And i think 4.3's audio output is quieter than 4.2.
My N7 is sooo quiet, both headphones and speakers.
Low volume really makes me disappointed.

Newer devices have advances that play well with the newer OS systems that are available so in my view retro versions may not work as well with some of the more advanced designs in the device thingy.
That said I feel the volume is plenty loud and in fact sounds really good. This is without a doubt the best 7" tablet available at this time. The Nexus 10 is the best 10" tablet available at this time, yes better than the apple products. The audio is better and the screens are better and you can set it up as you please a more mature attitude from the manufacturer if you will. Less hand holding, less paternalistic access to your device.
I bought mine at Office Max with the 20% discount, I felt that the price was almost unbelievable and was surprised when they had some left in stock.
I would like more memory 64GB would be nice but I rooted it and use stick mount to run videos and move files.

Hi:
You might want to try these JBL Bluetooth speakers--they are loud:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AYLDSU/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As for Korean apps, you might try backing up the apk files and installing them. I know that Google says many of my Chinese apps are incompatible but they all work. Worth a try.
Let us know if you find a work around with bluetooth headphones, apps or anything else that works. It's going to be a rocky road with Bluetooth and 4.3. Many Bluetooth keyboards and some headphones don't work with 4.3. I'm reluctant to order anything Bluetooth without confirmation from others that it works with 4.3
I ordered some LG Bluetooth headphones in June. They worked with the Nexus 7 2012 but only played 1/4 volume on my Galaxy S3 so I returned them.
Keep us posted.
Tom
My sound on the headphones is good/decent. At about 1/2 volume is comfortable to me.
I'm not much of an audiophile so I don't know how impedance effects the volume. It's not extremely loud at max volume, though. I'd probably still be able to hear my music while on the lawn mower or on my motorbike but not sure about a jet plane ^^
Speakers at max volume is fine for a quiet room, but outside it probably won't be very loud.
Hope this helped some.

Just confirming that my bluetooth keyboard (made by Anker for ~$25 on Amazon) works.
I just paired it and this is the first thing I've typed. Seems to do well. I can even alt-tab to other stuff running. Sweet.
Also just connected my bluetooth apple mightymouse (or whatever they're called) and that's working as well (at the same time as the keyboard)
Maybe someone will see this and find it helpful =)

Thank you for your valueable opinion.
To me, I'm very satisfied with another features and there was no intend to diminish Google or Nexus.
And I'm very proud of having brand-new nexus which have the sharpest screen among the world.
What I want to say is Nexus 7's audio quality is quite good but volume is low, lower than how I expected.
Within my experience, commonly, tablets usually make more powerful sound than phone but my Nexus 7 doesn't.
It seems to have simmilar power with phones. I just feel sad about that.

Thank you for attention.
Bluetooth is great and easy protocol for sharing small files or connect simple devices, but it is not so good for audio.
Nexus 7 doesn't support apt-x, so bluetooth will impair Nexus 7's quite good quality sound.
At this time I have no bluetooth device so I cannnot find which one works, which one doesn't.
Sorry for bad answer.

Maybe mine seems simmilar with yours, so I can think my device isn't corruped or something.
In fact I doubted my Nexus is a normal or not.
Thanks, thanks again.
Speakers are really loud. Comparable to my sons Samsung Tab and much much louder then the first gen.
As for apps, just because some apps haven't been given the green flag for 4.3 doesn't mean I won't work. I've sideloaded tons of apps that work fine.
Nothing really different between 4.3 and 4.2 cosmetically. You shouldnt want to downgrade just because a few devs haven't updated yet.

You would have to find a ROM that boost the volume. Just going to 4.2.2 wont increase your volume. I've been playing around with some stuff to boost volume and hopefully will have a mod out soon for it
But player is right...the diff between 4.2 and 4.3 are min. They did make a lot of battery saving tweaks, BT stack tweaks and other hardware tweaks but its more hardware related then os related

Do you turn off the watch at night? That's the only way I can eek 3 days out of it. It dies in about 48 hours of usage.

How to push the update?
Is good to get the update... but I wondering how the update delivered to the watch...
I am using an old phone which still running on Kit Kat.. is the lollipop update for Android Wear is Independence from the Android OS?
If bundle together.. have to send another buck to change my phone....
Yes i switch off the watch all the night. This morning i havent update
Sony PC companion still said I'm on latest version. Will have to wait a bit. Guess it will be fast as this soc is not unique ancient sloth as in moto360

Yes I turn off it during the night. For me, the avg battery usage is 1.8% per hour.
news?
From what I have seen on the web is that it will be pushed out by Google - so within the week (hopefully!) These new watchfaces are a major reason why I wanted a smartwatch in the first place! They look awesome!
I'm still waiting as well updates I've seen
LG G Watch
LG G Watch R
Moto 360
Samsung gear live
haven't seen
Asus Zen watch
Sony Smartwatch 3
One of the things that concerned me buying a Sony Smartwatch 3, Sony getting their hooks into this.
Update better come fast or this is the last Sony Smartwatch I buy.
I read reviews at Google Play, it is truly amazing how many people are giving developers 1 out 5.... watch face on phone but not on watch.
They do not have the latest Android Wear firmware
My Android Wear Companion has just received an update from Google play, still nothing on my watch
my phone is kk and it wont be updated until jenuary. Can i connect it with sw3 lollipop ? if not shame on google.

1. No Glass Protection :- Is It Safe To Carry Coz I Drop Phones Often
2. Lag - I Heard The Phone Lags A Lots And Many Time Crash
3. Updates - Will The Phone Get Updates? And Does it Got Official Lolipop?
4. Less Accessories - Heard Dat Phone Has Limited Accessories Even cases Are Hard to Find?
5. IR Blaster - Does Ir Blaster Works Good?
6. Custom ROM Support - Does Developers Really Focuses On This Device As Its Not A Flagship.
7. Camera - How Was The Camera Performance?
And Does It Have Note 3 Features Like Air Gesture And Etc Etc?
Please Reply Quick As I Will Going To Buy New Phone In Few Hours . I Am Getting It At Nearby 270$ So is It Worths Buying?

It works but there is no built in IR remote app. At least not in mine. LG phones have a capable IR remote app, which covers loads of devices (TVs, DVD Players even beamers). There are some apps in Play Store though.

If you compare what you get from a Sony device, Custom ROM support is non-existing. There are 3-4 ROMs, all have issues. Some people use it as a daily driver but I consider them "alpha-level" maturity.

Very good in bright conditions. Rubbish in dark/semi-dark environments. Also, don't even think about shooting a video if the subject isn't VERY WELL lit.

Yep, it does everything.
On another plus, the battery runs for 3 days with light-moderate usage. The screen is quite pleasant. Speaker output is nice. Very good WiFi rececption (my wife's iPhone loses connection where I still have 2 bars). Overall, it is a good, cheap phone if you don't care about updates and camera performance.

We answered all of your questions, didn't we? The rest is up to you. Personally, I'd compare the screen qualities side-by-side with the Sony device. For me, AMOLED was a deciding factor, despite the fact that it is "just" a 720p display. I personally like looking at it
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/1...for-new-wear-os-update-apk-teardown-download/
The most significant change is support for watches with a speaker. Everybody has known for a while that audio support was on the way. Not only has Google mentioned this in the past, but we've seen that both the Huawei Watch and LG Watch Urbane Second Edition are already equipped with speakers. Nevertheless, this is a pretty good clue the firmware update isn't too far away.

I second that. While it may be hard to do with kernel changes its still possible. People have got cm12.1 on an exenos gs6 which was thought to be simply impossible. Would be great to see an old device get life though its fans.
There aren't even any custom marshmallow Roms. I doubt it will get an Android 2.0 port.

But it is still possible, isn't it? Or is Android Wear simply closed source and impossible to be ported?
Well I hear it's because the 1st gen Moto 360 chip set simply just can't handle it or would most likely be poor experience. Plus I hear Motorola is trying to get out of the smartwatch game. Witch saddens me but we will see I was kinda hoping for a Moto 360 3 gem or idk something new hotness after the release of Android 2.0 but I hear there not. I guess we can only wait and see.
