glad to hear that......
Do you think swr50 will have this update?
There is no doubt that sw3 will get the update. The question for me: is it possible use KK phone to connect lollipop wear.
I love my watch, screen is gold, battery amazing 44% from monday. Under lollipop it will be the best

I couldn't agree more
Do you turn off the watch at night? That's the only way I can eek 3 days out of it. It dies in about 48 hours of usage.
G watch and moto 360 are already getting the update... No reports yet of updates for SWR50
http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2014/12/10/smartwatch-3-the-latest-android-wear-updates/
Any day now.
How to push the update?
Is good to get the update... but I wondering how the update delivered to the watch...
I am using an old phone which still running on Kit Kat.. is the lollipop update for Android Wear is Independence from the Android OS?
If bundle together.. have to send another buck to change my phone....
Yes i switch off the watch all the night. This morning i havent update
Sony PC companion still said I'm on latest version. Will have to wait a bit. Guess it will be fast as this soc is not unique ancient sloth as in moto360

Yes I turn off it during the night. For me, the avg battery usage is 1.8% per hour.
news?
From what I have seen on the web is that it will be pushed out by Google - so within the week (hopefully!) These new watchfaces are a major reason why I wanted a smartwatch in the first place! They look awesome!
I'm still waiting as well updates I've seen
LG G Watch
LG G Watch R
Moto 360
Samsung gear live
haven't seen
Asus Zen watch
Sony Smartwatch 3
One of the things that concerned me buying a Sony Smartwatch 3, Sony getting their hooks into this.
Update better come fast or this is the last Sony Smartwatch I buy.
I read reviews at Google Play, it is truly amazing how many people are giving developers 1 out 5.... watch face on phone but not on watch.
They do not have the latest Android Wear firmware
My Android Wear Companion has just received an update from Google play, still nothing on my watch
my phone is kk and it wont be updated until jenuary. Can i connect it with sw3 lollipop ? if not shame on google.
Android wear is compatible with Android 4.3

Or using the 1st gen of any tech for the matter.
Moto hardware Google software
i am pleased as punch with my purchase of this watch.
Me too. Battery life has improved since first launch and is not a problem anymore. I just wish the Moto 360 has an infrared blaster to control the TV and a speaker in case I want to take a call.

Does it use the speaker on the 360 or on the phone?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using XDA Free mobile app
on the phone, so for example when you're in the car, just answer it automatically in speaker mode.
since the moto 360 does not have any speaker.. so yeah

Nope. That was a fine excuse with the first iteration of Android Wear, but 5.0.1 was supposed to fix a lot of things, and instead broke some core functionality. This isn't about bing an early adopter; it's about inexcusably poor Q/A and customer support.

It will take more than 5.0.1 to fix all issues and stabilize Android Wear. Heck, even Android KK 4.4.4 rollouts have bugs which require further updates to fix.
Anyone else experiencing issues with Bluetooth or Android Wear? My 360 wont get notifications or stay synced very long. It drops connection a lot.
My lg g watch is working fine so far. It's on 5.1.1 not sure if that matters.
I have a 360, and it's only my first full day, but I've had no issues
No issues on my Moto 360.
No issues on my 360 or G Watch.
No problems with my 360. Been up a week, no connection losses that aren't related to a phone reboot, or similar.
Reset the watch and repair the Bluetooth connection?
I have a LG G Watch R and it took me 5-6 factory resets on the watch before I was able to get it to connect with the G4. Surprisingly I had no issues pairing it with the S4 I had before. I also had problems pairing the G4 with my car and once paired it does not send metadata to the car. I've come to conclusion that LG's implementation of Bluetooth leaves a lot to be desired.

Yeah, there is something funky in LG's bt - software. I had to do factory reset to my LG G watch R to get it to connect to Android Wear app (it was connected to the phone in bt-menu). And the bt-audio is horrible compared to my other phones.

As far as I know, Android Wear doesn't connect to multiple devices. Although, there were some updates recently that I have not received on my MOTO 360, so YMMV.

I assumed that, that is why I disconnected it from my S4 and removed it from the watch. I still had to factory reset 5-6 times to get it to work correctly. Needless to say it's been working great ever since.
Hi guys ,
I am going to buy my first android wear and I cant decide between these two :
Gear Live
Zenwatch
Which one is better ?? and Why >??
both have every thing but
the gear live : heart rate monitor , looks more spotry | its cradle sucks , samsung is slow in updates
Zen watch : Looks more premium , its cradle is fine ( not good as the lg g though ) | ( Some people say that asus is slowly in updates as samsung but I have never used asus phone before so I dont know )
thx in advance

The price also plays a big factor. Zenwatch is great for the price. Trust me you wont be using the heart rate monitor at all during your daily use.
And the biggest plus point is Zenwatch has speakers so with next update it might start working. And there you go.
Cheapest yet decent smart watch with speakers
Hope this helped. I own a LG G R.
Actually, the 1st gen Zenwatch doesn't have a built in speaker, only a microphone (the Zenwatch 2, however, definitely has one).
Asus might be a bit slow on updates, but they have said that they are working on the Android Wear 1.4 update, due by the end of March. (I can't speak for Samsung smartwatches, as I've never owned one.)

Got the update today. Not sure all the details though.
I have been a bit frustrated with the smart watch market because at least for me, every new company release seems worst or uglier than the originals.
For example, I have the LG Watch R with a sand/tan colored strap and I love how it looks but every other LG release has been ugly IMO.
So I have decided to get a more formal wear watch which took me to the Huawei Watch but it seems version 2 is also pretty ugly so I rather get version 1.
How is Android Wear 2.0 on it? I had to force 1.5 on the LG Watch R because 2.0 ran like crap on it.
Thanks!!
I've just moved from the Sony SmartWatch 3 to the Huawei W1 and am impressed. Screen display and clarity trump Sony but do miss ambient light sensor. When I first updated to 2.0 the watch is seemed laggy but noticed it was trying to port all apps from 1.5. I felt that 1.5 ran better on the SW3 but factory reset and it's been running smooth for past couple of weeks.
Few other niggles with notifications not always working but I think that is 2.0 in general

I recommend you get it, in my experience AW 2.0 is very good,I myself never miss a single notification which is connected to my Galaxy S7 Edge.
There was one glitch though ,Google voice didn't work properly with WhatsApp, but after latest Google app update it had been sorted out, now works 100%.
Thanks guys. I am getting one then!
Guys. I have some problems with wear 2.0. Created 2 thread in question and answers. Right now I am n it fully happy with this. Google feed not working for me. Sms send in in contacts app not working. Fb messenger not working. After read and clean notification on my s6 edge Plus notification are clear but messaging app still show sms as unread.

I wanted to buy the gear s3 but tizen was a deal breaker for me so I got mine 10-24. I bought watch 1, IMO watch 2 looks ugly . Updated to 2.0 same day and really happy with it . Using a dark face that I've created myself. I turn it off while i'm sleeping. I get 4 days of battery life (6am-11pm). Only drawback is I have the red glow problem. But again it doesn't bother me cuz I got it for $150
If only music controls weren't trash...they were SO much better before
Any ideas if Samsung finally will update Android on their phones including the new Note 10/10+ fast this year? P30 Pro will have acces to Android Q Beta this September...any news for the Note?
Was a reason i moved away from Samsung phones, i really like the Note 10 + and i really want to purchase it but, can't stand waiting month for the new Android version...
So what you think?
Just get a device you REALLY like, do not waste time thinking about the OS that is the newest

If timely OS updates is high on your priority list, you bought the wrong phone.
I have owned the Note5, Note7, Note8, and Note9. I recall the Note 8 update to Oreo occurred the April after it was released, and the Note9 Pie update occurred in February after it was released (carrier versions, anyway). So you're looking at Q1 2020 for the update.
However, half the time the Android updates contain things that Samsung has already had in their software for a year or two, so... it's not that big a deal. That said, I still am always super excited when it happens (so I get it).
I don't see Samsung getting the Android Q update anytime soon. Huawei is lucky in that sense as they will be releasing the Mate 30 Pro with Android Q running out of box. So it is imminent the P30 Pro will follow.

You are missing Android 10
really if you care about the android updates as soon as possible just go to a Pixel device. on the other hand just buy a phone you like and get the updates when they come, an android update doesn't really change a lot, a lot of what is added to the base android are features that are common among third parties, so for a device from a manufacturer like Samsung all the android update means is you get a bigger number and some of the phones features move from the Samsung UI to base Android.

Not really. We already have dark mode, swipe navigation.
Nothing really excited about Android 10
What I missed the most is the call recorder ability which they removed since android 9. I don't see it coming back in Android 10.

Software is important for EVERYBODY, what I tried to tell you is this: if you like/want a note10 device, it works fine as it is, it will update in due course, if the updates are your most uttmost concern, then a pixel would be the perfect choice for you, it is well known that samsung is never the first to issue updates, knowing this, better get something else
After seeing the YouTube video of One UI 2.0 over Android 10, I can't see anything that exciting. Android 9 (RIP desserts) runs great, and 10 looked like a very incremental update.
Just enjoy your phone you just got it . Q will come orob will get 10 and 11 . Let's get 9 working good before we think of getting 10

You are missing more than that. You are missing the new notifications implementation and battery saving optimisation. A few other added new features. That is why I hate Samsung with their updates. Very slow about 6 months late

I had the Pixel 2 XL and when the update came through my battery life improved which was already good but improvement in any department is good.
Why should you come to this forum and complain about Samsung update when you know how they work?
We all know the update will take some time to be available since the moment we buy it. We like this phone not because of the google update that we eventually will get, but because of the features that not available even with latest google update.
You should buy pixel and iphone then. Or huawei.
Exactly
I've only had one recent "need" for an android upgrade(Wireless android auto), just to find out that after we got it that google had restricted the feature to google devices. After 6 months of google claiming it was the Samsung's issue, even though no other brands worked either, they came out with a "beta" that enabled Wireless AA on other devices, no patches from samsung required.
There are so few important updates in Android these days, it's the least of my concerns.
