Bad voice recognition with update? - Moto 360

Is there a way to roll back the last update?
It seems that it's ability to accurately recognized my voice is terrible now.
I also upgraded to lollipop, but doubt that would be the issue.

Mine did that but eventually it started working after like an hour. It did this on both 5.0 updates. You can try turning off google now and then back on. If that doesn't work, just keep asking it questions, I did this on wear messenger, text replies, and Google now. And it eventually worked.

Maybe I expected too much from the watch but I'm still in 4.4.2 and the accuracy is horrible... Anywhere from asking for a command to text messages is constantly inconsistent and inaccurate... I'm starting to wonder if it's the mic itself...

Anyone having issuse with Voice Search and Gingerbread OTA?

I have tried the OTA Gingerbread in several forms but I cannot get the Voice Search to work on any of them! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Voice Search but no luck. Anyone else having issues with this?
I'm having the same issue with Nils Business sense.
My coworker is having the same issue with his unrooted OTA

I have problems with voice search in that it will not work if there is any background noise (like in my truck). I tried several things and finally gave up (for now) and am using vlingo.
I can confirm this to be an issue on mine as well.
Incredible -> S-OFF -> Updated from .2 to .3
Getting NO response whatsoever, have to practically yell at my phone.
Ive been getting this a lot as well sometimes it will only pickup parts of my voice but usually nothing at all. I deliver pizza as a side job. Having to type every address is a pain in the ass.

HD7 Visual Voicemail

Are any of you using this on T-MoUSA? If you are, does your HD7 play your voicemails through your handset? Or through the back speaker? Mine ALWAYS plays through the back speaker, regardless of the option selected at the bottom.
Yup I noticed this or is it the voicemails are really loud :S
This drives me NUTS. I was hoping this would go away after upgrading to the final version from the beta, but no dice.
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
It definitely appears to be a bug as there's a speaker option which we aren't even enabling. The first beta did not do this to me, the final done & RTM did, & now the official release

Be thankful yours works. Most of us T-Mobile US HD7 owners don't have Visual Voicemail working. T-Mobile and MS are clueless on what the problem is. Shows how bad their beta testing is. Many of us have been on T-Mobile Tech support for hours and they don't know where to start to get it working. Was hoping the blogs would start to talk about it to try and get more prioritization by MS to work the problem.

Agreed, When I first updated to the Beta back when it was first released. It worked perfectly. Now on the Official release, I keep getting an error message. It just won't setup. I even had my Voicemail reset. I truly believe it's on T-Mobile's end as it was working before & now it's not.
Well it doesn't actually work if I can't use it lol

Try texting "Activate:dt=6" to number 122 without the quotes.
It should say you have a voicemail and should work. Make sure you have the VVM feature on your account before doing this.
T mobile tech fixed my vvm issue a few days ago I was having the same issues. Obviously someone over there knows what's going on and can fix it..
This was my only real issue with mango. Along with some very minor issues that can be ironed out

When you use it though, does it play through the external speaker as though it's on speakerphone? Or through the receiver as though you're on a call?
Mine plays where I expect it to with and without a headset plugged in. Also switches to and from Speakerphone properly while playing.
Not sure what the issue is Fiya.

I think it has something to do with the beta/RTM builds tbh. You went straight from NoDo... I went through every dev build (legally lol) and I'm having this issue... I'd love to see if the others in this thread who have the issue went through the dev builds...

Same issue here. Had the leaked RTM, VVM has been working ever since, but only plays through the rear speaker. I have no idea how to get this thing to un "bug" itself so it plays like a regular call... Toggle for the speaker does nothing.
Definitely sounds like an RTM issue
Sent from my HD7 using Board Express
Hmmm. Didn't do a darn thing on mine. I'm running an LG Optimus 7. Is this an HTC-specific hack?
I have the same problem on my T-Mobile US HTC HD7. After the text trick, all of my voicemails play through the rear speaker, regardless if it is set to play through speaker or not.
I can also confirm it is not related to upgrading from the RTM. Though I had the second beta and the RTM on my phone at different point in time, I was using NoDo when the official release was pushed.
thanks,it really worked.. AMAZING,.. the tmo reps had no idea how to fix it.
I was having the same issue, was on with T-Mobile 6 times, finally one tech said that it was a network issue on their side. They said it would take a few days. Woke up this morning and it was working. They did remove and reset my VM which triggered the whole fix. Good luck.

Text messages stop incoming and Sending

Pretty much what the title says.
Every day, maybe 3-4 times, I won't be able to send or receive text messages. Text messages won't arrive until I reboot.
No error messages pop up unless I reboot.

I don't think it's the phone, my fiance's Evo LTE has done that at least a couple times and I saw it on Saturday night, Sunday morning. I actually called Sprint to report it as I'm sure it's a network issue and as soon as I made a call, as I ended the call, the flood of texts and notifications started coming in. Please report it. The next time it happens, I plan to report it using a good phone so I can show them that nothing is hitting the affected phone. Still, with that being said I think it's a network issue rather than phone related specifically, almost like the towers are not returning a signal when the phone pings them, but the phone is not smart enough to think there's a problem.
Anyway, not sure what your home situation is, but to test it, my fiance was alerted to the fact when my brother called her to ask if I was getting any messages. She tried to call me and it went straight to voicemail. Texts never hit my phone at all....until I tried a test call which worked just fine and as soon as I ended the call, a deluge of notifications kept coming through from the night before.
Please report it. Test it if you have someone at home that can try and text or call you as well.
Hope that helps...of course if you want to swap out the phone for a replacement, then by all means
My father (works for sprint) said they're working on towers around our house, so that's the issue.
Thanks for the input
But no one in my family seems to have this issue. Not the HTC Evo 3D, Motorola Photon Q, Galaxy S3, or that indestructible military phone. So maybe it's linked to the no/low bars I get, even though I live in a 5-bar LTE network?

I'm having too many issues with this phone. I'm probably going to go with an GS3. Shame, the screen quality is amazing, but I can't live with 2-8 hour delayed text messages.
Signal bar is working 5% of the time.
Weird wifi settings, lack of developer support, rushed–production bugs, and other nicks just make this a 'once you know me, you'll hate me' type–deal.
Sad, I really like this phone.

If you have a Sprint Airwave as well, that could be the issue. I've had the same issue because of it.
After you come home, you have to wait until your phone picks up the signal from the Airwave, vice outside.
Or sometimes you just have to reboot your Airwave.
Just giving another possible problem.
I had a similar issue. I could not receive calls or text messages for several hours, and the only reason I noticed is because I got yelled at for not answering my phone :/ I had several people with me when I noticed the issue so I had them call me and it would sound like the phone is ringing for the caller but my phone never rang and if they sent a text I didn't get it. Outgoing calls and texts worked fine though, which is strange. After several hours I received a flood of messages and everything worked OK.
I feel your frustration with the phone's rush to production issues. The text typing issue and the issue with mobile data after being on WiFi for several hours are driving me nuts. I am holding out that this is fixed with the coming update or a developer ROM because the hardware is impressive.

Just happened to me the first time. Airave Support said next time, call them and they can remotely reboot the Airave, which should release the phone after a reboot (and possibly an Update Profile). He said if it keeps happening they'll send me a newer 2.5 Airave to see if that clears the issue. Though for me outgoing calls/texts worked, it was just incoming that I couldn't get.
I don't have a Sprint Airwave.
I have a clear - 107 dBm 33 asu signal.
It's happening about twice a week now. Hopefully it's just a tower thing.
Still would like to see my signal while using Wifi though.

[Q] text messages send fail after OTA

***If your having similar issues, please call sprint to make them aware of the issue.****
Anyways, can any one help me. I updated to jelly bean OTA, and since then my LGOG does not like to send text messages out. My phone will not send messages shorter than 10-20 characters. Im in the CHICAGO area. No problem receiving them, just more often then not i get a failed sent. I have tried resetting the phone hard/soft. I took my phone into sprint and they said I need a new phone. Wtf! Anyone have this issue, or have any ideas to resolve this?
Im pretty disapointed right now, the phone was flawless before the update! Never had a single problem before. Thanks in advance.
UPDATE.. In conclusion,if anyone is interested, I believe the new jellybean update just doesn't play well with my towers in my area of Chicago. With the jelly bean update my voice signal was excellent, but the data signal was degraded. I always noticed, with ics while 4glte was connected, the voice signal was less. With jelly bean it seemed to be just the opposite at all times, great voice so so data connection. Only if i could have both and jellybean wtf?? Maybe someone could help me on here and explain a radio/jelly combo i would have best of both worlds.
Seems to be a Chicago issue.
**Either way I aquired LGNPST and original TOT file and reflashed the phone with original software and have not accepted the jellybean update for now.**
If you would like me to host the files needed PM me, I'll send you links.
I suposed I could have tried to reflash ZV9/ICS or ZV9 radios, but I bricked the phone before trying that.
I must have got the best phone out there. I've never had a problem with any software version we've had.

I have not tried the ## but ill give it a shot. Sprint may have done that.
More on this issue, it seems just not to send short messages. Like lol, no, yes anything shorter than a sentence. I have noticed tht long texts send fine, and picture text seem lightning fast. Whch is great, but cant respond to someone with a simple yes or no. Wtf
I have also noticed a bigger delay between automatic switching between 3g and 4g. Before the update the switching was seamless.
I have also rooted and reflased the ota, same issue. I did not flash the radios seperate tho.
The ## did not fix my text issue. Sprint store did do this as well.
Still have this same issue anyone figure anything out? Anyone have anymore suggestions i can try? Sprint does something on their end, and restore the phone with ## and it works for an hour, then back to the same issue.
Peteyo, are you in Chicago? Maybe it's it's a network issue. I'm having the same problem and so is my buddy. I can't believe more people aren't coming forward with this if it's a national thing.
But let me know if you find a fix, and I'll do the same. And you're right, it only happens on short messages!
Im in Chicago and having the same issues, even with other messenger apps that use stock mms, I also use whats app and have no issues. They seem to be random some send and some don't. If there is a fix please post it is a pain .

I have chalked it up to LG sucking! or I supose it could be sprint. The JB update they pushed changes the way the phone communicates with the towers. I grabbed bits and pieces from other threads with data problems and came to that conclusion. It doesn't appear to make issues with everyone, or have the same problems.
What i did, and what maybe the easiest is to reflash the phone back to its original form out of the box. Also im not accepting the ZVB/jelly bean update that messed up our phones. To return to original state, u must aquire LGSNPT, and Sprint`s original tot file. You can find these two in the developer sections. Its really easy and painless and get you right back where u need to be. The toughest part is putting your phone into download mode. vol+ vol- and power buttons.
Make sure u back up your pictures/things you may want to keep.
Option 2 you can **** around and try to find an ICS file, root your phone, and flash it back to ics. Or better yet root and flash ZV9 radios.
However im not sure if these will work. I have not been able to find ZV9 radios.
Option 3 if you have insurance get a new reman phone, or if no insurance pay sprint 50bucks for a reman phone. But you will still have the same issue if you update to ZVB/jellybean.
I wish I new more about this stuff and make a custom radio that has the voice improvements from ZVB/Jellybean, and the data from ICS/ZV9. Probably not even possible.

The strange part of all of this is that my text messages will always send if they are greater than about 10 to 20 characters. Anything smaller than that amount will give me a send failure. Has anyone else had that experience?
Data and Cell Reception have been stellar for myself since the update -- I believe I was having the texting issues before OTA (though I wasn't rooted at that point)

Don't you feel a greater level of sophistication when you have to type an entire sentence?
I'm sure it's Sprint trying to cut down on their SMS costs, but I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
Funny! I guess I should have just added a bunch of quick messages that are complete sentences for a yes or no answers. And the lesser 4g reception does slow down my midget porn downloading. Maybe it really is a win win...

Had my Gear S3 paired to my Pixel XL for a couple days now. For the most part it works as advertised, a couple glitches so far.
Yesterday I dialed my wife from my phone and it passed the audio through my Gear S3, then I hung up and tried it again and this time it routed the call through my Pixel.
Today my alarm went off and only the phone notified me, then later on the day another alarm went off and this time the phone and watch notified me (which is what it's supposed to do).
Another glitch today was I received a couple emails, the watch made the notification sound but no vibration. Then the next few email notifications it notified me via sound and vibration (which is what I set it to do).
Don't know if it's a glitch with the Gear S3 but its only happened a couple times. Still LOVE THE WATCH.
Oh by the way if you get the Frontier, the bezel feels loose and it almost drove me crazy until I went to Best Buy to try out the demo they had and it felt the same.
Samsung pay actually works for me. It's weird cause everyone online says it doesn't I have 5 cards paired and have used it at sheets. I had no issues. Maybe the app was updated today as I just got mine today... But that was the one thing I hated to let go from my note 7 now I literally have the best of both worlds... This is thee best smart watch I've used right down to build quality.
Have you guys gotten text messages and responding to work or is that Svoice and Samsung messaging app only?
I've had both paired for over a month now (since the S3 came out) and love it. The biggest feature for me was Samsung Pay since the S3 has MST support. The Gear app updated about a week after having it which worried me because I thought it would work right out of the box. Even with the Pixel XL rooted, running a custom kernel, and an unlocked bootloader, Pay works fine. You just have to sign back into the Samsung Pay app through the Gear app after every few purchases (which can get annoying when you're trying to be cool.). Anyway, once you set up S-Voice you can send texts through it. I am using Textra and it works fine. I would imagine it would work with stock messenger as well. I can also use S-Voice to make calls through the stock dialer. Haven't used it for emails yet.
There have been a few things on the watch that have bothered me. If I turn off the call feature (because taking calls through the watch is most times inconvenient) then turning the ring doesn't work to answer or reject calls. It would be nice if you were to turn it and the phone would answer in speaker mode. Also, my watch always locks on me. I think with the factory strap the watch rides up too high on my wrist and a tattoo there messes with the sensors and the watch thinks i'm not wearing it. It's annoying to have enter my pin everytime I want to look at a notification. I'm am ordering another strap which I hope will hold the watch closer to my wrist and tighter to the skin which I hope will help.
Battery life has been great with me, but I don't have LTE, Wi-Fi, or the AOD on. Through regular use from 0700-2200, I put it on the charger and it has 87% life left on average.
At the end of the day, I love it. I just wish Samsung would ditch Tizen and go with Android Wear. I'm sure they could make Samsung Pay work with Wear.

The only issue I had was that Hangouts would not allow me to reply until I installed Android Wear. Counterintuitive I know, but it seems there are some parts in Android Wear that Hangouts needs to work with Samsung Gear.

S voice is on the watch only. You can download it through the Gear Manager app.

Cool thanks, last question for now. Do you have a messaging app on the apps screen? Is that possible?
Hi
Most annoying issue for me is when im trying to answer incoming call using phone call is passed via gear s3 anyway - all the time
Anybody has same issue? Any suggestions?
Samsung Pay wasn't working initially but around a month ago I updated the gear app and up it popped. No other issues to report as yet.

So when you answering phone call using phone call is passed via phone or via watch?
Will Android Pay work on the Gear S3? I know, it sounds counter intuitive to use AP instead of SP but I've ran into situations before that no matter what I did, I couldn't get SP to work on an NFC payment terminal. Honestly, it's still so hit and miss I'd only really feel like messing with mobile payments via NFC which for me goes back to Android Pay.
Is there still those problems available with the s3 or everything is gone cause am planning to get one if everything is fixed!

I didn't know they had AP for the S3. I mean I don't think they do.

I'm considering buying one of these. I would sometimes want LTE capability, but would mostly want to turn it off to preserve battery. It sounds like you've got an advanced setup. Also, you mentioned being able to disable LTE. Is the option to disable LTE available to regular (non-advanced) folks like me?
Thanks in advance!

The device has a smart network function that disables the mobile radio while the Bluetooth connection is active. Then once you don't have a Bluetooth connection for like thirty seconds it enables it
In my first attempt at setting it up, it looked as though the "bluetooth only" model SM-R760 wasn't going to support text msgs with my Pixel XL. I reset the watch and did the setup again, and still no messaging app. Later discovered it DOES support text messaging with my Pixel, but only receive and respond. You cannot originate a message on the watch. A small compromise. It was confusing at first. But glad I don't have to pay more for a carrier supported model to have SMS on my Gear S3.
