[Q] Original 4gb SD Card partition sizes?

Please can you confirm me if after the Rom Manager patition tool I should have 3,18gb of FAT32 or more?
I've done 0mb for the swap and 512bmb for the EXT
Am I missing some space?
Many thanks
Best regards
3.1 + .5 is close to right. Might be a bit low but not by more then 100 MB
Disk drives never have the right capacity because of formatting and companies use 1000 MB = 1 GB when it should be 1024
Thanks
I'm asking this beacause before I redid the partitions (the sd was already partitioned) with rom manager, I crearly remember that the fat32 was something like 3.66.
Is there any way or program to get the lost space back?

you havent lost any space, as the previous poster said, with a 4gig sd card, you dont get 4gig of useable space. because of the way its formatted and the block sizes you would probably get about 3.6 - 3.7gb of space on the card.....
Thanks you too mate for the help
One last noobish question
How can I install apps on the EXT partition ?

if your using a rom with apps2sd and have an ext partiton on your card, apps will automatically be installed to /system/sd/app/ (the ext partiton) so you dont need to do anything
Many thanks mate for the help
I'm currently on Leedroid 2.2d
Is there a free program to keep an eye on this partition free space ?
Leedroid have a2sd so you should be fine and "quick system info" is a great app for that purpose.

[Q] Partition SD

Hi guys
I have root my phone and install
clockwork mode recovery 2.5.1.8
&
LeeDroid ROM file named "LeeDrOiD_V2.5.0_A2SD_FINAL.zip"
and all of this work perfect .
then i open rom manger because i want to partition my 8GB sd
after i flash my recovery i select
partition SD (Ext size 512M) & (Swap size 32M) then it go to recovery
and i have this error "please open rom manager to report the issue"
and i re partition sd by rom manger and i have seam error
after this i let Rom Manger behind me and i go to recovery
Advance>partition SD card>2028M>32M .. .. ..
after done i open the system>Sitting>SD&phone storge
SD total space is 6GB 8-2 for partition=6
Total internal phone storage is 186M in "Disk Usage"App
but i but 2GB partition !!!
i but 4GB partition to check ... same proplime 186M
i hear some people seas install "Data2SDInstallerX1" i try it but after i install it
when i turn my phone on its hold in htc logo
now i re install Lee Droid rom and the rom is work, but partition proplime steel here
pls i need help
Hi did you try redo it with gparted? or flash better recovery to setup partitions on your sd card... some rom are not showing all space from ext partition... BTW why you have swap? instruction saying 0 MB for swap
Its working correctly, the 183Mb free space will decrease slowly but it is using the 2Gb ext partition for app storage. Also, you don't need a swap partition. My advice is to start again, either do a backup, repartition your SD card with 1Gb ext and 0 swap and then restore or just do the partitioning and flash the ROM from scratch.

Your phone isn't ment to see the ext4 partition as the internal storage unless you reverse mount it.
Install a bunch of apps if internal doesn't go down significantly then its using the ext4 partition
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app

What did you use to partition your sd-card?
You won't see the actual partition size added to the phone's internal memory. Use a storage info app, like "Freespace", or Titanium Backup, to actually see your partition.

not. just skip it, u dont need it like posted above.
Mmmm tahts good so i will make 1 GB or 512MB partition with no SWAP ... Thats good idea i think becoz i made reamining unpartitioned sapce is used by apps rather than that 2Gb partitioned ....and i also notice that my apps are not listed on SD Crd so so my partion is alo working what this its consuming both partitioned and unpartitioned sapce of SDCard...

[q] swap, link2sd e vold.fstab

Friends, I have a doubt.
In the past inverted internal memory of my device with vold.fstab, then I started using oLink2SD.
Nowadays, use Link2SD with swap partition of 256 MB. But I see that the ROM's current support for both services. What is more suitable for use in the present day? My swap partition Link2SD is already activated or do I need to do some procedure to activate it?
Sorry, because I am noob to these matters.
Thank you
Link2SD is enough
I use it, and I can install any apps.
I have 8GB SDCARD and I make 2 partition, 6GB with FAT and 2GB with EXT4 [ for Link2SD ]

I think u have to activate the script by terminal emulater like how u do a2sd but I never used int2ext.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Free mobile app
- Find out what is using your internal memory first. Install something like DiskUsage, enable root and browse your actual /data partition. It should be 147MB total size. It's probably filling up despite the script. This may explain the low memory warning
- How did you partition your sd card? Should be done with 4EXT recovery or gparted only, not clockworkmod or minitool
- Did you install the correct version of the script for your partition? I've only used it once on a different phone / ROM. I used in2ext4+ or something like that, suitable for an ext4 partition, seemed to work
You could repartition to an ext4 partition (slightly faster than ext3), and pick the version of the script which moves apps and dalvik cache to the sd-ext.
Why don't you try Beanstalk RC6 4.4.4 + mounts2sd? You will never have low mem issues.. specially if u move everything to ext4. The thing is you need a good sd card..
