I think u have to activate the script by terminal emulater like how u do a2sd but I never used int2ext.

- Find out what is using your internal memory first. Install something like DiskUsage, enable root and browse your actual /data partition. It should be 147MB total size. It's probably filling up despite the script. This may explain the low memory warning
- How did you partition your sd card? Should be done with 4EXT recovery or gparted only, not clockworkmod or minitool
- Did you install the correct version of the script for your partition? I've only used it once on a different phone / ROM. I used in2ext4+ or something like that, suitable for an ext4 partition, seemed to work
You could repartition to an ext4 partition (slightly faster than ext3), and pick the version of the script which moves apps and dalvik cache to the sd-ext.

Why don't you try Beanstalk RC6 4.4.4 + mounts2sd? You will never have low mem issues.. specially if u move everything to ext4. The thing is you need a good sd card..

[Q] what does a2sd+ actually do?

i have installed miui a2sd+ edition... i have created a 512mb ext partition... i still have low storage issue... but i still have a lot of space available on my 512mb partition... (only 100mb is used up) and internal storage i have only 20mb left... why aren't the apps stored fully on the ext partition?
u have to flash the rom after u create ext3 partition
yup already flashed the rom.... still it used 100mb out of 512mb of ext partition but i have only 20mb internal space available.. why aren't all internal memory moved to ext partition?
There is plenty of information about what a2sd+ is and does. Try searching!
If you need more space search fire data2sd.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
ok thx... so basically what i am reading is that a2sd+ is mostly like the move to sdcard feature of froyo and gingerbread...? 512nb is way too much if i understand correctly
okie i installed data2ext version of miui!! it's great!! i now have a true 1gb internal storage!!!

[Q] Low storage Space on my htc desire.....

i m running miui gingerbread rom on my desire and i always get notification that my phone memory is low on space..... when i go into the settings it shows that 131mb used and 6.5 mb free..... I dont understand this!!!
The desire has 500mb internal memory so 365mb have been taking by my Rom MIUI...
plz help??
500MB total internel memory. You need space for /system, /data, /cache, boot, recovery and what ever else. If you run the stock hboot you only get 147MB of actual app storage. With MIUI you can flash or activate the A2SD script but you need an ext3/4 partition on your SD card.
I have ext3 partition on my Sdcard of 2GB...
So how can i activate or flash the A2SD script????
I recommend flashing the new rom of choice without restoring user apps at all.
Draconian it's true, guarantee you will free up space though as you won't reinstall everything you previously had. I'm nit suggesting anything, just saying it worked for me!

[Q] How to 1gb internal storage HTC Desire using HBOOT CM7/r2 with Aces V4 Rom

Hi
I have installed the Aces V4 ROM on my HTC Desire (HBOOT CM7/R2) and I have run out of internal storage when installing apps from Market. I didnt experience this problem when using V3 of Aces for the same number of apps installed.
This is what I have done:
1) Wiped everything
2) Formatted SD Card
3) Partitioned SD Card (Swap 0, ext-3 1024 mb), rest FAT32
4) Run Alignment_Cool_2.zip to change ext-3 to ext-4 and then re-align ext-4
5) Flash Aces V4 Rom
6) Flash Gingercakes0.8b_bfs Kernel
7) Installed weather_pack_new
What do i need to do to get 1gb of internal memory? I've read up a bit on data2ext but not sure if that's the right thing to do because I can only a CM7/R2 HBOOT version of the Aces v4 rom.
Many thanks in advance,
Shaximinion.
I dont think you can have a 1GB Internal memory on the HTC Desire. It only has 512mb i swere?
No you can there is stuff on data2ext have a read it partitions part of your SD Card.... but i cant find any clear guides on how to do it with the Aces V4 rom....
Hi all
I have now resolved the Low Internal Memory issue by flashing A2SD.KD after flashing the rom. Takes ages to become stable on first boot but then runs perfectly - and fluidly with Gingercakes v0.8b Kernel

Hellllpppp!!!
I have a desire running CM7.1 and i only have 50 mb of space left. I am 100 percent sure about what i am doing and I was wondering if you know of a simple method to gain more internal memory. I partitioned my sd card already (I think it is ext3) but my phone isn't seeing it as internal memory, which was the whole point of my partitioning it. It is really frustrating because the desire is an excellent phone, its just the storage that lets it down.
Thanks

the phone won't see the ext partition as internal memory by default, so will remain at 147MB if you're on stock hboot. to use the partition with CM7 i believe you can flash an A2SD script such as darktremor (even afterwards it won't 'increase', the system is fooled into thinking apps are on internal when they are actually on the ext partition).
i found reading this useful
to actually increase the internal memory, you can flash a different partition table (requires S-OFF), or use a data2sd script where the ext partition is actually mounted as part of internal memory

[Q] help cm7 sd ext partion

I would like to increase internal memory to 1gb .......I would like to use simple2ex or data2sd...I need full detail about SD partion..I have already flashed cm7..please help

You'd have to have a [custom] hboot that had partition info set up like you wanted [to change system partition information]. Not an easy task. Doubtful it would ever come to fruition. Besides our devices have 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM (418 MB user-available). So allocating that all to system would be unwise. Now SD card partitioning... our device supports up to 32 gigs Those two you mentioned or Darktremor's Apps2sd are great tools for moving your apps or even dalvic vm to your sd card. You can partition your sd as you wish with the unofficial cwm recovery (under advanced options). I will try to port another recovery [4ext] in the future which is great for sd partitioning (data aligns everything; supports ext4). CWM is not too shabby though; give it a whirl. Hope that helps.
Rob
I've tried to make sd-ext with Rom Manager -> Make partitions on SD. I've shoose 512Mb (of 16Gb miscroSD) and 32Mb swap file. But still have 178Mb internal memmory.
What is wrong?
I used Minitool Partition Wizard (free) to split my SD 16Gb on Fat32 & ext4 512Mb. Works Fine! Link2SD identify external partirion.
cool
congrats. Just a suggestion... change your OP from [Q] to [Answered] even though you answered your own question. May help someone else.
Rob
data2sd not installing for me after i install i get a boot loop..
you need Apps2sd or Data2sd not both
The rom has Apps2sd... You want Data2sd. You will have to remove apps2sd support, then add data2sd support. Can't have both.

[Q] Internal memory and sd ext

hello guys
im using CyanoMod007 (CM10.1.2 | JB 4.2.2 | A2Ext+) [STOCK | CM7] [v31 | 07/08/13] rom and i have a problem.
i though my apps would go in the 1gb sd ext partition i created, intead i have my internal memory with 148mb almost full. what have i done wrong?
How did you partition your sdcard? Should be done with 4EXT recovery or gparted only, not minitool or clockworkmod recovery
Your internal memory will read 148mb because you're still on stock hboot.
You can increase it slightly by changing to cm7 hboot (requires s-off) and installing the cm7 version if the ROM.
However your internal memory still won't read 'internal + sd-ext'. You may need to activate a2sd using terminal commands, should be in the ROM op or search the thread.
Move apps and dalvik to sd-ext, most of the time you need to keep apps on internal to trick them to sd-ext (do not 'move to sd')
Finally check all your partitions by installing DiskUsage app and see how your /sd-ext and /data (internal memory) is filling up, understand HOW your memory is being used

Before you do anything, install DiskUsage as advised.
- Browse to your /sd-ext partition, you may need to enable root permissions. If it's not filling up with your apps then you haven't activated A2SD.
- Browse to your /system partition, you'll find that you have a lot of free space here as you are still on stock hboot. This is effectively wasted space. If you change hboot you'll have a smaller /system and therefore larger /data (internal memory) :good:
So like I said, if you want app space, change to CM7r2 hboot using fastboot commands (search for a guide), full wipe and install the ROM again.
Follow the instructions as written in the first post to activate A2SD. Recommend you choose to move dalvik cache only to sd-ext.
