It's still July in Europe. You need to learn about time zones. Furthermore, go find a dark corner to rant in and mind your language.

Oh never HTC? Are you out of your mind?... Just because HTC got a day or 2 late makes u feel uncomfortable enough that.u won't buy most reliable brand?...
Talk of Sony.. I bought X10 mini launched in 2 010, they didn't even update that to Froyo...
Yeah.. The wait was excitement for a better software... I kept my phone running one Rom for 2 months... I don't waiting a day or 2 more...
There must be solid reason they got a bit late... I can imagine what could be going through their developers...
Just relax.. Chill out... Wait another day or 2...
at least they announced that u will get update...unlike sony who strictly said..No Updates...
Talk about Apple...I had the Iphone for more than 2 years. The updates to the OS never bring something really new, the main reason I figured Apple does then is to keep the phones locked. At least Android is much more flexible. You cannot compare a huge company like Apple that has to develop an update for just one product to an update for Android that has to be adapted for hundreds of different devices.
Actually this whole gingerbread fuss is becoming funny after a while...The only reason I want to have the official update is to see if it will be more battery efficient. I am runnning different Gingerbread Roms ( with Sense because I really like the integration) for a few months now and none of them really brought more battery life to my phone...

Good riddance. Both of you.
I have seen the amount of highlanders HTC support has to deal with daily in the past few days and I genuinely feel sorry for them.
Well at least you can root the phone and use a custom rom to get gingerbread now. Wait, you are using a custom rom - why are you complaining?

[Q]Cyanogenmod for HTC One X?

Hi all.
Wondering if anyone is considering devving for CM on the HTC One X?
It looks as though the Asus Transformer Prime (Tegra 3) has nightlies http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=tf201&type=nightly
so there is some hope, in terms of CPU support.
I think HTC are a little less sluggish in releasing source too these days? Which bodes well.
Please use the poll to show support, would be interested to know how people feel about CM on the One X, personally I really hope it happens!
Well it looks as though people want a ROM, any devs care to volunteer?
I will be glad if that ROM will rise !
HOX without cm would be very disappointing....
Anyone have any news on the likelihood of a CM9 build for the HTC One X?
Think we just have to wait and see how popular the phone is first :-(
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
The phone will be popular, no question.
It's not a matter of if there is a CM9 build - just when.
M.
CM developers have one rule... one rule only... don't ask for ETA, you aren't asking that but they never seem to reply to us asking if a certain phone will be supported... Anyway seeing as the One X is a flagship device it will definitely be getting sometime... but for now i don't give a ****e about ROM's, i only care about the phone getting Revolutionary boot unlocker and root
I'd love CM on the phone. Came to it from an SGS II, and I really miss CM9.
I have test a long time CM7 on my SGS 2.
I was very surprise before that i don't know how look stock android.
CM is fast but have some problem with my carradio using my SGS 2 with USB.
Sense working good with it i hope a CM9 on Hox would not have the same problem.
Is anyone working on it?
Ive already started working on CM9 for the One S. However, HTC is slow with releasing the kernel source, making the job much much harder. If we are lucky, HTC will get around and help us out, if not, it might take a while before things are working.

Well, thank you very much. Now that I know I won't stuck with a stock rom, I might just take advantage of TMO's upgrade offer.
Again, we are dependant on the kernel source and even then the imageSense.chip drivers probably won't be released. There's some useful stuff on CodeAurora for it though so with time I'm sure we will figure it out

As long as WiFi, Pandora, and Firefox work, I'm good to go. I've probably taken about 40 pictures with my G2 that's two years old. I deal in data more than graphics. All I need are my tunes and slashdot fix ;-)
As soon as SWMBO signs off on the upgrade, I'll be ordering. I'll need to wait until after Mother's day, though. That's gonna take some cash

I posted on CM wondering the same thing. Hopefully it happens pretty soon; we do need a s-off exploit though before a CM rom.

Correct S-off is gonna be needed.
Just give it some time it will come.
i used CM on my Droid 1 sometimes, but phone cams have been improved and customized a lot since then. is CM usually/always using a generic camera or do they include HTCs?

Why? We can flash both custom kernels and roms with s-on (as long as it's unlocked through htcdev, ofc), right? Then why would we need s-off? Sure, it would be really nice to have, but it's not needed to get CM on our device.
Correct me if Im wrong.

GPe rom for 816 ?

Hello everyone !
I'm landing here since my old xperia S feels like it's dying, so, wanting a HTC device, the only one whch was availabe
from my phone operator was this one.
I think this one doesn"t look very popular, but I was wondering if there was a way to convert it to google play edition like
it's possible on the one or one m8.
Thanks !

Well you can flash CM11 or CM12 which is more or less the same.
And an AICP ROM is in the works.
Just out of curiosity, why want a HTC phone specifically if you are just planning on changing it to Google Play edition anyways?
Well it is mostly a money thing... I don't have a lot of it and I'm getting tired of a laggy xperia (it has an aosp ROM but it's laggy anyway). I'm not really fond of Samsung phones and don't want to mess up with an other Sony xperia (the way they treated the owners of the SXS was bad customer relationship) and there was no Acer phone available... BTW, the fact I managed to get this one for 1$ is really the more obvious reason.
Edit : one more (may be) stupid question, but I can't find something like ''everything you need to know about HTC desire 816'' thread, does anything like this exist ?

Possible yes, I'll be more then glad to try bringing gpe to this device. But that's as soon as the Virgin Mobile variant gets a recovery that support aroma flawlessly... My team is already working on the device tree for the a5_chl ... So as soon as we are done I'll start cooking like I did for one mini. Just your other devs will need to port it from my varient.

Unlike AOSP , GPE can't brick a device because it uses a sense kernel. Plus GPE is usually bugless where AOSP roms tend to always have bugs. So I can see why some users would want gpe.
FYI I'll be getting my HTC from virgin mobile France, if there is a way I can help, tell me. I'm a complete noob for programming but I can try and give feed back and logcats
Édit: ok so I got my HTC desire, but ad my phone operator employees are complete assholes, they forgot to put a nano SIM in the package, so unless I cut my micro SIM by hands I won't be doing anything with the device soon. Anyway I'm reading a part here on xda about everything related to the phone, and as I told you before, if there is something I can do, just tell me.

HTC One E9+ android M 6.0?

When HTC One E9+ start to reciving android marshmallow 6.0.1?
Well,if you google latest info all indications are first quarter 2016 so hopefully within 7 weeks max.
We can only hope.
Unless anyone knows different?
Dont forget though if you are carrier branded it may take longer for you too.
That would be sweet!
Hmm,Only a few days left in March and still no OTA update for the E9+
From my googling all indications did say 1st quater 2016 and yet still nothing.
Hope we get it soon.
I did hear that it will be June, but still not holding my breath :/
Well, the E8 has now started receiving Marshmallow update so perhaps the E9/E9+ is not far behind now.

Any news for update to M?
seriously where is this "M"... why HTC is going so .... on updating e9+
I know.
Well, googling for info only shows some sources saying THIS quarter. So we can hope we get it by end of June at latest.
Hopefully anytime now though.
The E9+ can be a great phone, but I think it does defo need Marshmallow to optimize it and gets its full potential.
And the wait continues.......

Am sick of waiting these htc updates...
They never keep their promises and then they complain why they dont sell.
I had several htc phones and always had the same problem with the updates. Everybody with samsung, lg, motorola take the updates before me and i always had flagship htc phones.
For htc e9+ that is not even flagship, dont expect to get update anytime soon, better go buy new phone. They said update is going to be released Q1, now Q2 is ending and still not a word
I this is off subject but can anyone confirm if this device will work for Verizon?
And it's 2017 Q1... still running 5.0.2
I know. Its very sad.
They did say 2016 and its passed onto 2017.
I do think it'll come but man,its taking to long now.
Hmm,maybe they decided to skip Marshmallow and go straight to Nougat? As long as its quick itd be OK,not that we have to wait til end of year for it,stuff that,Id rather have Marshmallow now then.
why there isnt any costum rom for this device?

No One Hear Our Sound! Maybe In Future, But Not Now, For Your Battery Issue Use Your Power Saving Mode And Greenify, Uninstall Every Battery Saving App Like As Du Battery Or Clean Master, Disable Google Apps In Setting/Apps , Disable Location Services, And Finally Disable Auto Accounts Sync!

The info above doesnt really say much other than update does seem to be coming.
But I noticed the reply mentioned android N,so if we are lucky the E9+ will get 7.0,not just 6.0.
However an email HTC sent me said its only updateable to Marshmallow so who knows.
Since my last post Ive also had another email.
Here's a quote:
HTC Support said:
We value your email and would like to inform you that yes! it is upgradeable to Marshmallow but as we have already told you the it is an automatic process. So, there is no Estimated Time available till when you will get the android OS update notification on your device for Marshmallow Android Version.
When the update for HTC One E9+ dual sim is released you will get the notification on your device, once your device is connected to the internet.

Do Something For Us!

Hi Brothers, I AM Really Bored Of Awful Support For HTC One E9 Plus, Nobody Here To Help Us?!
No Developer To Port Some Rom For Us?!
Do Something Guys, We Are Really Bored...
I'm with you in this brother. But to be honest it's been over a year and a half since this phone was launched and no dev is paying interest. Even the HTC themselves have forgotten about E9+. We are still waiting for the promised MM update... for over a year now. Sad to say but i really doubt that anything will change in nearest future. Our device will face it's EOL anytime soon, so no official updates from HTC. If i remember correctly it was something in the line of 18 to 24 months since launch time. Basically if we don't get extrmely lucky that some dev port something, anything for this phone nothing much can be done. Other option is for a bounty - then some devs could get interested. But then again - there's nothing official from HTC to be used for a source so we would probably get an Lineage port. All that is pure speculation on my part. Except for the EOL part. If we don't get MM till may-june from HTC then all is lost.

I Can't Realize What Htc Is Doing! Why We Don't Receive Updates? Now, Every Phones Launching MM Or Nought, But We Are Still Forced To Use Lollipop, I'm Just Waiting For Lineage Os To Port For Us Their Rom, Not Htc To Release Updates!!!
