hey, there are many different ways to root your device. 3 you might wanna try out:
1. z4root, just download the apk (search it), install and click root...
2. framaroot, just download the apk (search it), install and root
3. one click root: search on the internet and look for some tutorials (you need a pc for this, not for 1&2). It's really easy.
one click works for almost any device.
hope this helped a little, but remember that rooting will void your warranty
btw, there are so many tutorials on how to root your phone, just google it.

And for the upgrading, you have to install a ROM. If you look in the forums you will find lots and lots of tutorials. But be careful, ROMs are great but if you install them incorrectly you could get bricked, and you don't want that. Good luck!

Dear,
I had Spice Mi-320 which had some booting problem. I tried to repair this phone with help of SP Flash Tool but my mistake, I format the hard disk of the phone. Now only blank screen phone, not starting, no vibration, only this phone is detected by SP Flash Tool. Can you provide me -
1) Any Rom for the phone which can be used to Flashed with help of SP Flash Tool. Need less to say that the ROM should have scattered file required by SP Flash Tool.
2) Kindly mention SP Flash Tool version which should be used to Flash.
3) Steps of Instruction to flash.

when i use x flasher to flash, but no respond to anything, it just shown done in 1 second.
when i use the nokia suite to flash. it shown a error message as below.

Rename your nokia x folder to nokia_x (no space) and try using Flasher, the dir cannot have any space

but i have some problem
i have using NOKIA XL i clicked the (install insecured kernel) button wrongly
my mobile having some bugs (when my phone get lock) not waking up coming same color screens
then i i unrooted the phone (then i have asked on Nokia care ) he say it (i dont no about this u can give the mobile and i wll send to company
plz plz plz plz how to fix this

The only way you can get those files is through Nokia care suite.

Updating phone? There is 0% chance of a brick.
Rooting? 0% if you follow correctly. 100% if you dont.

Ok so I will update to the latest but, then will nokia x manager will be able to root the latest version? Also I heard that people saying you can install google apps (all of them) without rooting with nokia x manager is that right? Thanks for helo best regards!

Yep! You can install GApps without rooting with nokia x manager. I also installed gapps without root and everything is working fine.

Thank you for your optimism Also it can be >0% if rooted it before updating, for some methods of rooting. In general I'd suggest people to remove any unofficial customizations before updating.

Nokia X Manager
You can root it with nokia x manager and install Gapp after 1.2.3.21 update
i just done it today for my son XL

I've tried the nokia x manager on this version of xl 1.2.3.21 but not working

Besides being able unbrand with this tutorial, update, is one of the primary utility of the tutorial, *if all conditions are met*.

Reboot your phone in recovery mode. (I use TWRP but CWM should also do the job.)
Wipe data.
Select install zip.
Choose ROM**.zip
Confirm the installation.
Wait for it to complete.
Reboot your device.
Done.

I have added basic gapps playstore play services, gmail and google keyboard as default input. You can install the others from play store or using google installer for miui.

Is it only me or the download link does not work ?

Can I flash this recovery with the help of flashify. ...Or is there is different procedure

Finally somoleone did it. We all are overjoyed, thrilled and very excited with this release.

No. It's deodexed..
Size is small because i have removed a few chinese apps.
Plus it contains minimal gapps.

@Frank782 and @ArjunrambZ see if u can fix the torch issue though its not much needed but.....

Meanwhile i was uploading the Rom, I was also working on new build of MIUI 7 and its ready. Currently checking it if it needs som bug fixing. I think its little smoother than the previous one.. Uh..... Can't differentiate actually..
