Hi I decided to write this thread because after a while mount af searching i was not able to find a good answer.
I have a sony ericsson Xperia arc s (LT18i) unlocked bootloader, i have tired lot of rom, but every rom don't support one of important things i need
For this phone i particulary need:
working HDMI, usb-OTG support, after installing whats'app having 100mb of free-ram, and the most important think: a working wifi eap connection.
Until now i tried:
Atomic 8 GB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340089 fast and working but i can't conncet with wifi using eap.
Anyway i notice that every rom based on stock sony firmware have troubles with wifi eap (xperia plus, atomic 7, atomic 8)
Arconium http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565475 everything works but i'd like something more reactive and fast. Have to say that i have disabled/removed some system app i don't needed (notes, thmes, contact google sync, calendar sync and so on )
I've tried also freexperia rom (based on cm7, cm9, cm10, cm11) but i have some otg trouble and non HDMI.
I have seen a rom that i'd like to try: DiMiui, based on GB and working HDMI(and i think also wifi with eap protocol) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503527 but links are dead and no mirrors on internet
So i'd like to have some advice for a rom that can have this features. Or Some fix/trick to apply to those rom for a better experience.
Thank for help and sorry for some incorrect phrase, I'm not english

First of all, im new on these forums, so hello everyone
I have experience rooting, custom rom'ing and such from my Samsung Spica i5700, but dealing with ARC S roms and unlocking seems to be a whole different world!
So, the .62 update hit me, and ofcourse without reading XDA, I updated my -only- rooted phone. Now I have the bloatware back and cannot root, blasphemy!
So I thought about unlocking the bootloader, there comes the first question
- Does the automatic root kit (DoomLords thread, v4 by now) work with .62 that has had i'ts bootloader unlocked (he mentioned it DOES NOT work with stock .62)? If it does not, which tutorial or tool should I use? Ive seen Flashtool being used, and something about flashing whole new stock roms?
Now also, I am a big fan of custom roms - but the default rom of ARC S has some great things I've noticed and use alot, so I would love to keep those. As I was looking into Arconium 6.1 rom (nearly perfect it says!), I would love to know if it has the following things still available
- Sim Toolkit, known also as STK. Because in my country we have Mobile ID cards integrated into SIM cards, so basically I can use my phone to prove my identity and give digital signatures wherever I go. This is a must have for me.
- The phone has Sony Ericsson menu under Settings. Under there, I can connect my phone to my PC over WiFI (if it has PC companion installed) - I love this feature as I dont have to connect the cable, or mess about with slow Bluetooth speeds. Does the Arconium have this capability?
The stock rom is good enough, atleast for the moment, but I love getting more out of my device. Although if it means losing those two features, I will probably stay with stock rom, and just try to root it, and remove all the bloatware.
I have been reading the forums, but lot of different threads, and they all tend to say some different things. Confusing to say the least! Also tried searching the Arconium thread about SimToolkit, only had some questions about version 3. So again, no info there.
If any of you could give me any insight into these matters, would be very lovely. Would save alot of time by not installing Roms and such that do not even suit the needs.
Once again, thank you in front for all the help
Best wishes,
Erki

No, it only works until .62 firmware (e.g .42 & .58 firmware).
Search a little about how to root .62 firmware.
Or you could downgrade to .42 firmware using Flashtool and root.

Afaik, it has the same Connectivity settings in SE settings as stock ROM.

V6 Supercharger would be also great if you only want to root and remove all bloatware.
Definitly try arconium 6.1, it's awesome and super fast

Cheers to the both of you. Cleared up my questions nicely.
I shall try out the Arconium.
But the kernels - lot of people using DoomKernel, and then the one dp94 mentioned V6 Supercharger. Benefits - downsides to both of them? Dont care much for overclocking, because the performance of 1.4 Ghz single core is more enough for me (atleast for the time being). Would love better batterly life and/or performance without overclocking.
As far as I understand, the best way to do things is unlock bootloader, root, install CWM on phone, then let it install the CWM recovery, and from there just apply the custom roms?

V6 Supercharger is a script, not a kernel.
You should definitely try DooMKernel. It's the best combination of battery life (recommend to try -36 baseband) and perfomance.
And you have to flash kernels using fastboot.
Thanks again
After looking for ways to root .62, and not finding anything - I felt like an idiot.
Then suddenly I realized what I had read about Doomkernel - it does root and CWM automatically!
Now running DoomKernel and Arconium
Would love to run CMmod, but as far as I can see, it is still missing HDMI and FM.
Cheers for all the help mate

Yes, that's correct.
Atm, these features are only working with stock based ROMs.
Hello everyone,
I owned HTC Desire almost a year ago and used with Cyanogenmod 7 all the time. I wanted to switch to any rom that comes with HTC Sense UI, but everyone makes a trouble establishing connection to wifi (all of them are 2.3 gingerbread). When i want to connect to network is says 'connecting and disconnected', so its impossible to connect. I bought it with radio v5.11.05.14 but upgraded to 5.17.05.23. First i thought it was radio issue, but no problems with cyanogenmod so far. Also downgrading back to previous version didnt solve my problems.
What might be wrong?
I tried:
* Supernova
* Cool3D
* Runny Rom
EDIT: I have just restored stock firmware shipped by device (2.2 Froyo) - yep i've done nandroid (there is even no root access)
And this problem still occurs. I cannot connect to WiFi So, really, the only rom with working wifi is cyanogenmod... What the hell?
EDIT2: After some more investigations looks like Cyanogenmod is able to connect to 802.11n wifi while stock-based mods not (b/g only). Can anyone tell me how is that possible that 802.11n compatible hardware is so limited by stock firmware and if it is normal? I would really like to be able to connect to N-only networks.
Thanks a lot for your help!
I have Arc S. with JJ"s hybrid rom. the wifi works good for my home. but when i go to my college it doesn't find my college wifi.
my college has 3 wifis . it detects 2 wifis but doesn't detect the third one which is available in my class.
My friend's galaxy ace, galaxy s, and even my friend's xperia mini pro with ics detects it and surfs the internet.
so what might be the problem??? I am using xATG kernel. I need help desperately!
If the kernel had wifi modules you had to flash.. flash them (there always in a .zip that you need to flash through CWM which you can download with the kernel)
I'm using .587 and WIFI module on JJ's ROM, working well..

Hi All,
First of all, congratulations for the forum and great project on adroid!!! I'm new on this, and hope learn something here and who knows help in some development.
I will inform a lot of things on this post since i don't know what can be relevant....
I unlocked my phone, and installed ICS Beta from Sony, and used for a while, but, I really want to use CM 9 or 10... so i've downloaded, the stable packages of CM9.1, and CWM5 and installed on the phone as described in many places here and on the CM Wiki, and all functions work ok besides my wifi, it simply doesn't start(Don't star on CM 9 /9.1/ 10)...
Ive also installed baseband mods hoping this can help, but nothing happens....
The same thing happend with ICS Beta From Sony but the Dommlord package to enable WIFI and Bluetooth helped on that version...
So my need is to enable my wifi connection that is dead on the CM 9.1, the phone shows enabling wifi message for a long time and never starts the wifi hardwares... any tips to help me ???
I'm Using a Xperia Arc Lt15a with CMW 5+ and CM 9.1 (FXP139 for now but this happens with any version of CM 9.XXX)...
I Know that SE made diffrent hardwares to some places of the world, so i'm from Brasil, if this helps...
Thanks in advance!!
Leonardo.
No One can help??
Theres a wifi patch addon. Install that. Look at the rom thread
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Install suitable baseband and libs if available.
Look at the ROM thread for supporting baseband.
Look at the thread for basebands and libs -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688049
Not sure why anyone would choose to flash the Beta at this stage. Flash the latest stock ROM first then CM and report back.
Thanks
Hi, Guys,
Thanks for all replys... i'll try the basebands, but need to read more about it, i don't know wich version is the correct for my device or location, ...
I want to install CM 9 because its faster then the original from Sony, i'm using, the firmware from sony but it's realy slow.. and constantly freezes...
Thanks,
Leo.
