[Q] bricked with new display? - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Had a cracked screen, I removed it and installed new one without glue, to test it. Worked like 30 seconds and then went black. Now it's not turning on or giving any life signs. If attached to computer nothing happens, but if I press power while attached, I get unknown device to usb list. I removed battery cover and detached battery, didn't help.
I got a brick?
Any ideas to revive it?

Smashed Dash - Won't Power on - Help! Need Data Recovery!

So my phone fell out of my car in my driveway and apparently I ran it over when I backed out, now it won't power on and the screen is broken.
I've replaced the device, but I'd really really like to get the data off my old phone. The battery is still good, as I've put it in my new phone and it works fine. When I plug in the run over phone, the LED for charging doesn't come on, and when I press the power button, it doesn't turn on.
When I got home and realized that I ran over the phone, the home screen was still a little visible on the cracked screen, and frozen, so like an idiot, I yanked the battery in hopes that it would still power on, but it won't.
If I could just get it to power on and plug into my computer so I can get my data off it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
So Activesync doesn't kick on when you connect the phone to the computer?
If no sign of life is visible, and your data is absolutely crucial, then the only thing to try would be to buy a phone that you can take apart, and replace if with the guts of your phone. As long as the main board was not damaged, the memory should still be intact. Try eBay or Craigslist for a phone someone is selling for parts (like one with a broken screen or something, but which still makes and receives calls).
Good luck.
Most likely you will not be able to do that anything man sorry...

[Q] GNexus Not Booting

Sorry if this question's been answered in another thread, I tried searching and couldn't find any question that exactly matched mine, or any response that solved the issue.
I purchased a used, unlocked Galaxy Nexus from ebay around a month or two ago, in near perfect condition -- this has been the first time I've had any problems with it. It's probably not applicable, but after the release of the dev preview for Ubuntu phone OS I rooted the phone and reinstalled the factory image "takju 4.2.2 (JDQ39)".
Anyway, a few hours ago I accidentally bumped my phone off of a counter in the kitchen onto the tile floor. I picked it up and looked it over, and noticed no visible damage whatsoever, although the plastic cover had been partially dislodged; however, the phone's screen was dark, and the phone was unresponsive. I took out the battery and replaced it, then held down the power button. The phone vibrated once, like it normally did when booting up, but the screen remained black and the phone unresponsive unless I removed and reinserted the cover again.
I've tried charging it, plugging it into my pc, removing both the battery pack and the SD card, taking the battery out and rebooting it while holding both power buttons down, but I still get no response (and my computer doesn't recognize the phone when I plug it in). After reading a post where someone had success reconnecting the display, I unscrewed and removed the casing, then disconnected and reconnected the display from the motherboard -- still nothing.
Is there anything else I can do, or is my phone beyond repair?
Did you check the other connections while you had the phone apart?

I opened it up again and took pictures, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing, so I can't tell if anything's wrong or not. Should I remove the motherboard to get a better look at the display?
You're talking about the back cover which became dislodged upon impact? I'd say you're lucky that the phone still gives that vibrate. But it seems there are so many things that could go wrong from an impact. Do you have fastboot? [I know you said you tried holding down both volume buttons and power, but try pressing them first then tapping power.] If you don't have fastboot, then your only options would be omapflash and odin. If these do not work, it's gonna be hardware. Maybe the display is gone, if you get the vibrate but see nothing..

Replacement LCD problems

Hi,
So I dropped my UK one X the other day, the fall was so bad the LCD popped from the frame and tore the ribbon cable for the LCD.
Now, I've ordered the replacement screen and after a strip down and rebuild which lead to removing the battery the new screen is now blank (phone charges and seems to power on)
After doing a quick search on this it is all pointing around syncing the screens - which I cannot do due to the broken ribbon cable on the old...
Any ideas how I can get this working without the syncing process?
It is rooted with a custom rom if that helps.
Thanks, Matt
Anyone? Kinda desperate.
I had blackscreen problem in recovery.

Power up issues - Battery replacement didn't work either.. (help)

So I have got this Nexus 5x, I was able to purchase it cheap because it was a return.
When I received it, it wouldn't boot up. So I stripped it down to look for the obvious signs. Battery problems, water damage etc. Nothing like this was present so I thought id disconnect the battery for a few seconds and plug it back in. It still wouldn't turn on.
I didn't realise, but I still had it plugged into a power source when I disconnected the battery. Please keep in mind that there was no skin to board contact, all tools were plastic so there was no problem there. When I disconnected the battery the phone vibrated and presented me with the 'Google' screen.
I thought this was strange, and every time I would connect the battery it would shut off, weird huh?. I thought it would just be a dodgy battery, so I ordered an official replacement battery which arrived yesterday. It's still doing the same thing.
I would like to think that it's a system issue, so I was going to flash official/custom rom to see if it fixes the battery connection problem but the power coming through the USB isn't enough to keep the phone alive whilst going through the flashing process.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on what could be going on?
