Hi,
So I dropped my UK one X the other day, the fall was so bad the LCD popped from the frame and tore the ribbon cable for the LCD.
Now, I've ordered the replacement screen and after a strip down and rebuild which lead to removing the battery the new screen is now blank (phone charges and seems to power on)
After doing a quick search on this it is all pointing around syncing the screens - which I cannot do due to the broken ribbon cable on the old...
Any ideas how I can get this working without the syncing process?
It is rooted with a custom rom if that helps.
Thanks, Matt
Anyone? Kinda desperate.
I had blackscreen problem in recovery.

Hey there guys,
I was repairing an HTC One X for someone i know, (she dropped it and broke her glass) but since i got it (ofc) i tried to turn it on.
No succes. So hey, why not walk to the charger and plug it in? No charging light.
Opened up the phone and checked all the connectors. they were fine.
During an hour or two charging, i was googling, and some people reported that holding vol +&- and power button would revive it. no success.
I'm not replacing her glass untill i know this isnt a hardware problem
Please, share your knowledge
Greetings,
djpbx
UPDATE: Suddenly the hox's led started to blink, idk anymore what i tried and buttons and power combinations but lets leave it going. fingers crossed then.
UPDATE: No boot after the blinks (just faded away again), put another battery in it and boom, it booted. only nothing on-screen lol, lets replace that screen.
I dropped my HOX and I got another HOX with working mainboard. I replaced it and everything worked except for very faint backlight and flickering. So I disassembled the phone and put it back together again. Now I can't start the phone anymore and the solid red led burns when connected to the charger....after I connect it it flickers one time, very fast. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? So pissed of right now...
Hi, if you don't have any power at all eg no vibration or lights on three bottons at the bottom, it could be that the power connecter is not properly plugged in. follow cabble down from power button, plug is hard to get at unless you unstick power button from cassie.
If you have some power check lcd is working by using a bright light near the screen and closely checking to see if you can see anything, could be backlight not working.
just my 2cents
feel bad for ya!

Okay, I have experienced the same thing and I'll tell you what I did to fix it. I dropped my HOX after owning for only a few days and the screen was cracked. I ordered a replacement LCD/ screen digitizer part and took it apart. One of the things that I found was that there was adhesive everywhere, including adhesive on the connection to the battery.
After it was taken apart, I attempted to test the new screen. It was then the LED turned solid red and the phone would not power on (even after 10 minutes of charging). What I did was remove the adhesive from he battery connector and disconnected the battery completely. I plugged it back in 10 seconds later and it turned back to flashing green (which is normal because I had several missed texts).
So my solution was just to unplug the battery and it worked just fine. The hardest part about this whole process was putting the cover back on, especially on the side with volume buttons! Hope that helps.
I have exactly the same problem. The difference is that now that I took it off charge, the red light is flickering on and off. I cannot get the display to show! Please please help.
Hi there
I recently attempted to change the digitizer on my one x, breaking the lcd in the process.
I ordered one from eBay and installed it along with my new digitizer. Both went well and my one x was looking fresh again.
With the housing off still, I wasnt 100% happy with the double sided tape i used so decided to redo the bonding process.
Anyways... Long story short.
My wife accidentally spilled the tiniest bit of water on the surface my phone was on. It did get on the phone but not too much, I broke down the components and put them in a rice bag overnight. now the lcd screen is cloudy (not a problem really, can get another for £20) but the htc logo comes on with a vibration as normal but then after 3 seconds goes off and repeats. Thinking my battery could be drained I've had it on charge for at least half hour with no luck.
I hope this isn't a hardware issue. I can't afford this right now.
Trying to boot into recovery brings up the low battery text too but again reboots after 3 seconds. Ive triple checked all ribbons/cables/connections and everything seems fine.
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks
Edit: A post on this thread... http://androidforums.com/htc-one-x-xl/635327-help-my-htc-one-x-wont-stop-rebooting.html hints at it possibly being an issue with the powerflex cable attached to the power button. After a few wiggles and playabouts the phone went on to the bootanimation but then rebooted. So its possible it is the cable?! How do i go about changing this and further testing to make sure it is exactly this?
Edit II: Seems to be now the powerflex cable is faulty, as when I disconnect it from the slot, the charge LED now remains constant. I've disconnected everything else. Leaving it to charge for a while then gonna research the power cable. tried connecting the power cable but it just causes it to restart with LED flashing every 3 secs. hence why i know it restarts.

you should be happy atleast your motherboard is okay now try getting a new power flex cable and check whether your htc still reboots or not with the new one,,,best ov luck :good:
Cheers mate. One is on order from eBay. I ended up removing the power cable because it just interfered with boot ups. It's a bugger having to use sweep to wake and ADB commands but at least it now works
Also no mic for calls but that's OK. Loudspeaker works still

Hello!
I hope somebody can help me, I tried to solve the problem by myself but I ran out of ideas what could be wrong. So to start with, i have replaced a cracked screen with a new one(lcd+digitizer). Everything was working fine after assembly, so I gave the phone back to the customer. Yesterday after 3 weeks of usage, he came back claiming that the screen isn't working anymore and that sometimes the screen was black and the other second was working. So I gave a look, but the screen was working(suddenly again), only the colours were a bit funky(probably the screen flat cable is the problem or?) So I opened the phone but nothing was wrong with the cables. I also cleaned the connectors with air if there was maybe some dust. Then when I assembled it back, plugged it in, to charge it, the battery was on screen, saying it is charging and I thought the problem is solved, but when I turn on the phone there is still nothing, blank screen. What could be wrong? The screen must be working because otherwise I couldn't see the green battery when charging the phone while off.
OK so my phone screen got smashed up prertty good...so i got a new screen and replaced it and checked thoroughly to be sure it was installed properly which i did ..BUT device will not power on at all nor will it show led when plugged into charger...i should also add that it did not power on or show charger led after screen broke. would anyone know what part may be damaged to cause this? I did disassemble whole phone and didnt notice any physical damage..circuitry etc...tried a a couple different batteries and chargers also..any help would be appreciated thx
